Chapter Two
Three and a half hours ago,
In the hidden realm of the Yokai, There was a sound of thunder rumbling out in the distance over the mountain where clouds started to form together, making one big gray cloud. The lightning lit up the cloudy sky with a loud thundering sound and slowly moving towards the Tenjin-ya building. The Raindrops started to pour down from the sky, little at a time until they began to pour harder on the rooftop of Tenjin-ya. Then there was a mighty thunder making a loud booming sound, and a bolt of lightning struck down a tree in the northeast forest of Tenjin-ya, where it started a small fire that is growing bigger every second.
Meanwhile, in the building of Tenjin-ya, Odanna walking down the hallway, hearing the raindrop echoing loudly through the building, and the lightning lit up from outside, making little shadows in the hallway through the window. Akatsuki is walking behind Odanna after they left Aoi in her new bedroom. Then they felt a thunder-shaking the whole structure of the Tenjin-ya building. For a blink second, the light went off, everywhere went dark, but it never lasts for very long.
Odanna stopped walking and looked at the raindrops running down the window, then saw a flash of thunder lightning lit up the courtyard. A year ago, he remembers that Aoi was terrified of thunder in front of him for the first time. It all started when Odanna returned from his trip to Aoi's era with stuff that she asked him to get for her; then, a thunder beast comes across Tenjin-ya, making their light go out every time with their thunder. Aoi remembers when she was a little girl; her mother abandoned her in a dark room alone, and there were thunder and lightning. Aoi grabbed the edge of Odanna's sleeve of his kimono, and he could feel her hand trembled where she held on to him.
At that moment, he thought it was so adorable when she was holding on to him like that for the first time. "Master, we need to get going to the meeting now. Everyone is waiting for you to arrive," Akatsuki said, looking at Odanna. But Odanna did not hear Akatsuki said anything. He was too busy thinking about Aoi and wondering how terrified she is right now with the storm. "Master, are you listening to me?" Akatsuki asked, snapping Odanna out of his thoughts.
There was another thunder echoing through the hallway. "I need to go and check on Aoi," Odanna answer, turn back around, and head down the hallway to Aoi's bedroom when Akatsuki put one of his hands out in front of him and place it on Odanna's chest to make him stop walking. Odanna turns his head to look at Akatsuki with a glare on his face. "What do you think you are doing?" Odanna asked.
"Can you go five hours without being with her? We were with her a few hours ago, and everyone is waiting for us," Akatsuki said, stood in front of Odanna with his arms crossed over his chest and waiting for Odanna to walked down the hallway in the opposite direction away from Aoi's room. Odanna let out a small sigh and turn back around to continue down the hallway to the meeting room.
Suddenly, a mighty wind comes through the hallway wrapped around Odanna, and a small tornado slowly vanishes. There, a young man appears in front of Odanna. His name is Sasuke, a Kamaitachi yokai that takes care of the garden in the morning and patrols the grounds at night. Sasuke is kneeling on his knees with an arm resting on his other knee and bowing his head to the master innkeeper. "Master, there is something I need to report to you; it is urgent," Sasuke said, left up his head, and respectfully looked at Odanna.
"What is it that you need to report to me about, Sasuke?" Odanna asked, putting his hand in his sleeve and looking down at Sasuke.
"There is a fire in the northeast forest of Tenjin-ya. We have sent people out to handle the fire, but the flames are getting too big for them to control," Sasuke answers.
"Okay, let's head that way now and handle the fire," Odanna said, walking past Sasuke, and went down the hallway, followed by Akatsuki and Sasuke.
They step outside into the pouring rain and saw a bright light lit up the whole sky that people can see from miles away; it was the fire in the northeast of the forest. Odanna felt the raindrops running down his face and getting his clothes all wet. He ran his finger through his wet black hair and started to walk up the hill, where he saw a group of people gathering in front of the fire, trying to put it out before it gets too big to handle. Odanna saw Tengo we're flying above the fire and pour buckets of water on top of it to slow it down, but at the same time, the water Yokai was spraying water at the base of the flames to keep it under control. Odanna heard a voice calling out to him in the distance and saw Ginji calling out to him.
"Master, the flames are getting out of control; most of the water yokai are too exhausted to continue," Ginji said, running up to Odanna.
"Ginji, Do you know how this fire started in the first place?" Odanna asked, looking at the fire then back at Ginji.
"They said that lightning struck a tree in the forest, and that's how the fire started," Ginji answer, looking back at Odanna
"Ginji, do me a small favor. Please tell everyone to back away from the flames and let me handle it," Odanna said.
"Of course, Master," Ginji said, running off to go and tell everyone to stay away from the fire and let the master innkeeper handle it. After a while, everyone got behind Odanna and watch him walked closer to the flames.
"Master, be careful-" one of the employees yelled but was cut off by Ginji, who put his hand in front of the young girl.
"You need a little more faith with our master," Ginji said to the girl, continue starting at Odanna.
Odanna put both hands out in front of him, and they started glowing light green. He was mumbling some enchanting some magic words under his breath, and the fire was drawing closer to his hand then vanishes into thin air.
The flames wholly disappeared, and everyone cheers for the master innkeeper for helping them out with the fire. The only thing that's left from the Flames was smoke floating in the air.
Odanna heads back into the Tenjin-ya and brushes himself off from the ashes on his kimono, and went inside. "Master, that was an amazing job," a female employee said, handing Odanna a towel to dry himself off.
"It is my job as the innkeeper of Tenjin-ya," Odanna said, took the towel from the employee, and dry his black hair before heading the towel back to the lady.
"Master, do you want me to get the bath ready for you?" The employee asked, looking at Odanna.
"Yes, it will be a while. First, I need to go and check on someone," Odanna said, walking down the hallway and headed back to Aoi's room.
When Odanna got to Aoi's room and knocked on the door three times, there was no answer. He opens the door and saw Aoi lying under the desk with her hand cover her ears from the thunder and saw tears in her eyes. Odanna walked over to Aoi and picked her up in his strong arms. "I will protect you, my love," Odanna said, learn his forehead down against Aoi's forehead. He walked over to her bed and laid her down on top of it. He covers her up with a yellow and blanket and places a hand on her cheek. "I love you," Odanna said, lean down and kiss Aoi on the lips. After a while, Odanna got up from the bed and walked out of the room. He then closed the door behind him. He walked down the hallway to the bathhouse to get clean himself up to get ready for bed
Odanna walked into the private bath just for him and saw red flowers floating in the water. He stripped off his kimono and set it on a chair by a white table in the corner of the bathhouse. Odanna got into the 190 degrees water that is pretty much normal for a Yokai. "Mating season is very close that when every male Yokai will be looking for a mate. I need to hurry and calm Aoi before someone else takes her away from me," Odanna said, leaning his head back into a roll-up towel and looked at the transparent glass ceiling where Odanna can see the moon high in the night sky. Odanna feels his body getting hot, and it was not from the water. "I want her so bad," Odanna said, bite the bottom of his lips and let out a moan.
