Warning: VIOLENCE!

Morning dawned far too soon for Zelda's liking, the birdsong filtering through her window far more harshly than anticipated. Midna was already awake by the time the younger princess slid out of bed for the first time. The brunette glanced over to her love and tilted her head, if just slightly, wondering what was on the warrior's mind.

"It is nearing time, Your Majesty." Midna murmured softly, her eyes gazing over at the horizon. "Soon, it will be dawn. I will have to defend your honor."

"I know you will do well, Midna." Zelda told her Champion, walking over to her calmly.

"Doing well is not my concern." Midna sighed. "I must focus on control. Link may have challenged me and treated you as an object, but he is still a comrade. I mustn't forget that in the match today. I do not wish to lose anymore friends."

Zelda wrapped her arms around Midna's waist and pressed her face into the warrior's back. "I have faith that you will remember yourself." She whispered. "You are not the same princess I met so long ago. You have gained experience just as I have. The match will be fine."

Midna reached up and placed her hands over Zelda's for a moment, taking a deep breath and nodding before releasing them and turning, reaching out a hand. "May I escort Your Highness to the arena?" she asked softly.

Zelda smiled and slid her hand into Midna's a moment, squeezing it. "I will meet you there." She stated calmly. "Not only must I get dressed, but I also must appear neutral so as not to show favor. It is not diplomatic to choose favorites, even if you are my Champion." Leaning up for a quick kiss, she added, "Do well."

Midna nodded and watched Zelda step into her closet before turning and heading out to the arena, ready to do battle. Zelda bathed and dressed quickly, expertly tying her hair up and grabbing a new pair of gloves to match her dress before making her way out of the castle. Moving to the fields, she found a large group already waiting at the arena, ready to see the match begin.

Many of the townsfolk had come out to see the event and were whispering excitedly about who they thought would be the victor of the match. Many were unsure of who to place their faith in, but a lot of them also didn't care. It had been a long time since anyone had challenged a member of the royal family. Midna had even invited a few members of her council through her portal to witness the match before Zelda woke up. They were waiting patiently among the townsfolk and even answered questions about their home to some of the more curious Hyrule people.

Link and Midna were both waiting for her with Adviser Delak. He must have informed them of the formalities. She thought with an inward sigh. Stepping up the pair of them, Zelda shook hands with both, keeping her expression neutral so as not to appear biased despite the crowd already knowing her Champion. "I wish you both the best of luck." She said calmly, nodding minutely to Midna.

Link glared at Midna before turning to Zelda. "Once this is over, you may have to find yourself a new protector, Princess."

"I have Midna and her people to protect Hyrule now." Zelda told him icily, her eyes narrowed at the obvious challenge he presented.

"If she survives after this." Link growled, turning and striding out into the arena.

Midna stepped up next to Zelda and caressed her cheek gently. "I will live, my love. He is fighting to prove he is the worthier choice. That will be his downfall. I am fighting to show my love for you. That will be my strength."

"I know it will." Zelda murmured, momentarily leaning into the comforting touch before regaining herself and motioning to the large fighting space. Midna nodded and turned, heading after Link with Zelda waiting a few seconds before beginning to follow.

All of the spectators gathered around as the two combatants faced each other on opposite sides of the arena. Midna stood tall, not yet bothering to go into her warrior's stance as she deemed her opponent unworthy of such wary at the moment. Link simply glared across at the Twili, his eyes focused completely on her as he moved into the best crouch he could in order to be ready. Zelda stepped between them into the middle of the arena and faced a direction neither of them were in to show neutrality.

"Rules are set." The Hyrulian princess called. "No weaponry of any kind is allowed and only hand-to-hand combat may be used in defense of oneself or attacking your opponent. Failure to abide by this code will be dealt with accordingly. The last one of you standing will be the victor." Striding from the arena, Zelda raised her arm and let it fall. "Begin."

Link immediately charged, hoping to get the upper hand quickly. Midna shifted her stance, red eyes watching Link closely. Her body tensed, muscles tingling as she waited. Link's blood rushed in his ears, his heart pounding as he neared the other warrior. Stopping a foot or two in front of the taller elf, Link raised his fist to strike.

Midna smirked, her muscles bunching as she ducked the incoming blow. Striking quickly, the Twili slammed her fist into Link's stomach, propelling him a few feet backward. Link gasped, his ribs compressing as he lost his breath, but Midna wasn't letting him rest. Growl settling into place, the blue-skinned elf rushed forward, bringing her fist down on Link's head.

Link grunted, hand flying to his head briefly. Noticing another punch coming his way, the smaller elf dodged and threw out a quick punch, catching Midna's cheek. The spectators watching gasped in shock, some of them cheering Link on. Midna growled angrily and she kicked out, her foot clipping Link's arm. The brunette cried out at the sting, but he refused to back down, rushing Midna once again.

Midna sniffed in contempt, pulling her fist back and snapping it forward into the other elf's chest. Once again, Link found himself winded, but Midna grabbed his collar and brought her knee up into his stomach. Watching Link struggle for breath, Midna dropped him in disgust. This weakling thought he was worthy of bedding my princess? She snarled inwardly.

Link panted as he glared up at the redhead. Glancing down at his hands, Link clenched his fists and leaped up, taking Midna slightly by surprise. I have to win. He thought, swinging his fist into midna's stomach. If I don't, she might kill me. His next punch clipped the Twili's cheek and he followed up quickly with a knee to her stomach.

Midna was impressed despite herself. If he's truly going off instinct, then he's not doing too bad. Getting past that thought, Midna threw out a wild punch, nailing Link in the chin. As the other elf staggered back, Midna regained herself and lashed out, clawing at his shoulder as Link caught himself. Red marks appeared on the brown skin and Link growled angrily, retaliating by scratching across Midna's collarbone.

They were so close now that each could feel the heat radiating off of the other's body. Their breaths mingled in the air as they gazed furiously into each other's eyes. Midna brought her knee up into Link's stomach as he lashed against her neck. Midna lunged forward and bit his hand, yanking at it and causing Link to scream. Instead of pulling away, the brunette pushed his fist forward, forcing Midna to let go or lose some teeth. Spitting out the limb in her mouth, Midna slammed an open palm into Link's chest, propelling him a few feet backward. Growling, the more experienced warrior began circling her prey, trying to find the best way to take it down.

Zelda watched in awe as Midna prowled around Link. The Twili's skin glistened in the sunlight as she lashed out at her opponent, red eyes glowing with the power she held. Each muscle rippled just below the surface, coiling and tensing, fueling each punch, each kick, each lunge with an extra burst of strength and fury. The Hyrulian princess felt her neck begin tingling with the beginnings of a blush as Midna soared halfway across the arena to land a blow to Link's jaw.

She is so powerful. the younger princess thought, unconsciously biting her lip as Midna lifted Link by his arm and slammed him into the ground, cracking the dirt around them. And all of her people are like this? Integrating them into Hyrule… both of the kingdoms would never face threat again.

Link wiped blood from his chin as he glared across the arena at the princess slowly advancing on him. He knew this fight wouldn't be one of his wins when he started, but he at least needed to try. Surrendering would mean that he was weak and he wasn't going to let that happen. If he survived, he needed to prove himself as strong as possible for Princess Zelda. Then she would see the mistake she was making by not choosing him.

Standing from his crouch, Link rushed forward once more, pressing on as he attempted to get the upper hand in this fight. Midna watched him closely, noting his movements, watching his steps and observing the way he held his body and carried his weight. By doing this, she analyzed the ebst ways to take him down. He made a mistake challenging me. She thought, rushing to meet the hero head-on.

Link leaped into the air, snapping his fist across the Twilight Princess' jaw, but Midna retailiated by grabbing his shirt collar and bringing her fist into his diaphragm. Link coughed, kicking outward and nailing Midna in the shin. Both of them cringed at the contact, but Link succeeded in making Midna drop him. Landing in another crouch, the brunette wasted no time in leaping back up to slam his fist into Midna's side, staggering her.

The blue-skinned elf grinned, even despite her pain. He's desperate. It's making him powerful. As a friend, I'm proud. Spinning quickly to avoid Link's next punch, Midna smashed an elbow into the side of his head, sending him stumbling a few feet. As a warrior, it's a slight disadvantage. But he isn't the only one with strong feelings. Glancing over momentarily to Zelda, Midna felt pride and protectiveness swell in her chest and she faced her opponent once more.

Link was already heading for her, but Midna refused to allow him to succeed in this attack. Rushing forward swiftly, she slammed a fist into his stomach, her free hand grabbing his collar and slamming her head into his forehead. Momentarily dazed, she lamented allowing the instinct of a warrior to take over, but that did not stop her from ducking Link's half-hearted attempt to retaliate as he fought against the swirling in his head. Both staggered a moment before Midna lashed out with her foot and caught Link in the side.

He thought she was truly going to give in to his wishes? Midna thought, the red in her eyes brightening as she glared across at the brunette fighting to catch his breath. The blue-skinned elf felt her ire rising as she bared her teeth. He truly thought he could get away with asking such a question? I'm going to teach him that Zelda is mine.

Racing forward, Midna took a deep breath and leaped at Link, smacking a fist across his jaw and sending him stumbling backward. A growl had set onto her lips as she grabbed Link by the collar and smashed her knee into his abdomen, winding him along with a punch to the chest. Anger welled in Midna's chest the more she thought of him even thinking of touching her beloved. No one touched Zelda without the Hyrulian princess' express permission and even before that, they had to go through Midna first.

Rage building in her throat, Midna flashed back to that night. Visions of Zelda beneath Inuri, struggling and wriggling desperately as the scarlet-haired woman forced herself upon Zelda flashed in front of the redhead's eye. The Twilight Princess forced down bile at the memory of her own actions and focused her anger. I will spend the rest of my life atoning for my behavior. She told herself. I may never gain her full trust again, but even the honor of being her warrior is more than I deserve. I am going to show this scum that such a title is earned and never thrown about haphazardly when referring to my people.

Using her grip on the smaller elf, Midna brought another blow to the side of Link's head, following it quickly with a hard backhand. The spectators' cheering had melded into one thunderous roar of shock and awe as Midna proceeded to simply smack Link around the head, her fury getting the best of her. When her opponent was sufficiently damaged, Midna threw him to the ground, frowning as he attempted to crawl to his feet. A kick to the side sent Link rolling onto his back.

The warrior princess knelt with a knee on his chest, glaring down at him, watching him struggle to so much as breathe. Midna snarled and lifted her hands above her head, the bloodlust shining in her eyes as they met Link's terrified ones. She tensed her muscles, preparing to deal the winning blow. Link was a friend, but no one treated Zelda as he had, even Midna. Those who did… Gritting her teeth, the redhead closed her eyes momentarily and centered herself. I will protect her. She vowed, eyes flying open. With everything I am, I must protect her.

"Mine." She hissed down at Link, bringing her enclosed fists down on his head, smashing his skull against the ground. A splatter of blood sprayed up at her from the wound that would no doubt scar the smaller elf's head from then on. Midna stared at the unconscious man on the ground beneath her and felt triumph ripple through her very veins, filling her with a warmth she had long forgotten. Blood continued spreading along the ground, soaking into parts of her loincloth and coating parts of her hands.

He will never dare to do such a thing again. She thought with finality, standing and panting, growling just softly with the adrenaline of the warrior still pulsing through her veins as she turned to her bride-to-be.

Zelda watched her warrior intently, lust prominent in her gaze as she rubbed her stomach in anticipation, shudders of pleasure wracking her body. She hadn't seen Midna look so primal since that night when she fought Inuri. It filled the Hyrulian princess with an overwhelming sense of longing to feel Midna hold and caress her in that state. Blue eyes closed momentarily as a wave of bliss washed over her at the mere thought of letting Midna take her right then.

Midna prowled toward her love, her movements predatory and feline-like, filled with a grace that only an experienced hunter and fighter could achieve. Despite the glow still in the bright red eyes, Zelda did not move away; contrarily, she moved forward, throwing her arms around Midna's neck and leaning up to press her lips roughly against those of the battle-worn Twili, her tongue sweeping swiftly into the other princess' mouth to taste her. Naturally, Midna would not be dominated so easily and her tongue lashed forward to battle against Zelda's, sliding alongside it and quickly overpowering the younger princess. The brunette moaned and pulled back for a breath, wanton lust clearly visible in the darkened blue eyes.

"Make love to me." Zelda commanded, her voice deep with arousal. "Now."

"As you wish, my future queen." Midna growled, pulling Zelda in close.

Lifting the smaller woman into her arms, Midna spared the smallest of nods to Adviser Delak before sweeping away toward the castle. Zelda made the trip harder on the redhead, trailing her lips along Midna's collarbone and stroking the warrior's breasts and shoulders. Finally arriving in the castle, Midna forewent going to their chambers, shouldering her way into a room and glaring at the servants in it. The young women immediately scampered out as Midna set Zelda on a couch.

"My warrior." Zelda borderline purred, her arms hooked around Midna's shoulders once more.

"My princess." The redhead snarled, moving in for another kiss.
