It was a Sunday afternoon and Barley, his daughter Angel and Ian were practicing on magic at the park

"Okay sweetie, are you ready?" Barley asked his daughter Angel nodded her head and got into position with her staff

"Ah ah, elbows up" Barley fixes her left elbow.

"Thank you, Daddy," Angel said before saying the spell "BOOM BASTIA"

The fireworks then few out of the staff causing the few people at the park to catch the attention of them

"Did you see that Mr. Fluffy.."Angel said to her teddy bear whom she brought with to the park

"Think fast" Barley then threw a cheese puff at her

"ALOFT ELEVAR," She said before tossing it into her father's mouth

"Good girl," Barley said before eating it.

"You're getting the hang of spells, Angel" Ian praised her before ruffling her hair.

"Thank you, Uncle Ian, can we do one more spell before we go home?" Angel asked

"Sure sweetheart, which spell?" Barley asked

Angel then thought about it for a minute and grabbed the cheese puff bag, took one out, and then place the cheese puff on the ground

"MAGNORA GANTUAN" Angel called out. Soon enough the cheese puff grew large, exciting the little girl. She ran over to it and tried her best to munch it down, making Barley and Ian laugh in the process. Then a few more kids at the park spotted the cheese puff and decided to try and help Angel devour the cheese puff

"Okay my angel, time to depart for home" Barley called

"I'm coming" Angel called back, grabbing her staff and Mr. Fluffy and ran off leaving the other kids to devour the rest of the cheese puff.

When they got into the van, Barley noticed that Angel had cheese puff powder all over her face and a little bit on her dark pink shirt

"Come here pretty girl" Barley grabbed her and began to wipe off the powder on her face. When his thumb came to her mouth, she tried to playfully bite at it, making him chuckle and pinch her nose

"Silly girl"

"I was so close" Angel giggled.

"Yet so far malady" Barley replied in his medieval voice giving his daughter a playful noogie

When they got home after they ate dinner, Angel decided to play her favorite video game of Guitar Slayer and her father decided to tape her play

"Ladies and gentlemen, Angel Lightfoot," She said looking at the T.V

"It's time to rock out!" the T.V said. And the game started. She began to mutter some words as she played and she kicked a chair and began to dance around as her round ended. Everyone in the family laughed at her goofiness

"That's my little rockstar!" Barley exclaimed turning off the recorder.

"Your turn, Daddy," Angel said. Barley then gave her a noogie and took the plastic guitar to have a spin at it. The father and daughter play a few rounds until it was late in the night

"Alright sweetie, It's time for bed" Barley led her to their room

"Aww, but can we play a little more" Angel whined

"Save your energy for another day, my little mage, you also have school in the morning." Barley told her, playfully ruffling her hair.

When school came along, She was hanging out with her group Isley, Ness, and Eddie. They were flipping their pencils by karate chopping the tips of the pencil to see how many times they would flip and how high the pencil will fly.

"All right class today we have a new student today," Ms. Willow told them Then out came an elf boy with his blue hair slicked to the side and he wore a striped shirt and blue jeans with small sneakers. Most of the little girls in class eyed him. Angel eyed him too

"Hi guy, um my name is Leo Thornbill" the boy spoke. Most of the girls, including Angel, then fell head over heels for him.

"Hey, Angel...you okay?" Ness asked her. Angel was so out of focus that she karate chopped her pencil into her hair which was held in a half up half down held in a bright yellow scrunchie. She didn't notice that she was drooling and it got on her matching yellow and white striped shirt, and she was lucky that she was wearing overalls shorts on top of her shirt.

"Huh," Angel asked snapping out of her daze, wiping the drool and taking the pencil out of her hair.

"Is everything okay?" Eddie asked

"Oh yeah" Angel nodded her head blushing

"Angel...Do-do you have a crush on him?" Isley asked pointing to Leo who was now sitting in the back of the room where some of the girls are almost trying to crowd around him. Angel looked away and blushed Isley then slyly smiled

"Angel loves Leo" He sang, maintaining Angels blush on her face

"Why don't you just go say hi to him...maybe he can play with us" Ness pitched in, trying to ignore Isley's teasing.

"Okay," Angel said. She tried to make her way over to the new kid until she got pushed away by a few girls

"Go away loser...He doesn't even like you" one cyclops girl said

Angel then pouted for a minute, crossing her arms but then she had an idea

Then at recess, a bunch of girls were crowding around the boy, trying to give him flowers and trying to get him to notice them

"I think I have those beat" Angel stood confidently. The girls and Leo turned around, Leo was curious and the girls sneered at her. Then Angel began to flap her wings to show the boy that she could fly and she flew around the boy and the group of girls and descended back down safely.

"That was awesome…" Leo said breathlessly

"This is Angel," Ness said coming in with Isley and Eddie following behind. "Do you wanna hang out with us at lunch?"

"Yeah," Leo said as he left with his newfound friends

After school, Angel couldn't stop thinking about Leo and what she did to impress him at recess. Leo was very sweet toward her and he told her that she was really pretty. Angel was blushing ear to ear when he leaves with his mom. She didn't notice her father honking the van horn, signaling that it was time for her to go.

"Hi, Daddy" Angel blurted out as she climbed inside Guinevere the 2nd. Barley had a sly smile on his face when he noticed his daughter's rosy cheeks are completely red.

"What's my little girl blushing about?" He asked her

"Nothing…" She lied. She was a horrible liar went it came to lying to her father. One time, she tried to get some of her grandmother's cookies from the cookie jar and Barley caught her, she tried to lie about it by hiding them behind her back but she ended up having to put them back

"Angel…"

"It was a new kid in my class, he told me that I was pretty and I showed him I can fly"

"Aww, you had your first crush" Barley awwed making Angel blush even further. " Don't feel bad, I had my first crush at your age"

Angel then got interested. "What happened?" she asked

"Well...I don't remember too much but she was a really pretty girl...I was teased by the other boys in my class and she ended up not liking me back"

"That's awful"

"Well sweetheart, there are many guys out there for you...try not to stick to one, because he might end up breaking your heart, and I don't want my little princess to have a broken heart," Barley said, tickling his daughter's tummy with his free hand while the other was on the steering wheel.

"Okay, I'll be careful" Angel declared. Barley smiled and booped her nose

"That's my girl," Barley said softly. Angel smiled

Later that night, Angel was tucked in bed and Barley watched her sleep and had an extremely warm smile on her face. He had fallen in love with her ever since she came into his life. He then slowly gave her a kiss on the head, making the little girl smile and stop sucking her thumb

"I love you, Angel…" Barley whispered

Barley then departed to bed. He began to dream of the same night.

Barley gently puts in baby Angel into her bassinet and watched her sleep. He had a proud smile. She was the best thing that had ever happened to him and he swore to himself that he will be the best father to her. After a while, baby Angel began to fuss and cry. Barley rushed in to pick her up and cradled her

"Shh Shh Shh, Daddy's here sweet girl, it's okay Shh shh"

The baby's cries then turned into soft fussing. Barley then slowly rocked Angel back and forth in his large arms

"Did you have a nightmare princess...Daddy has nightmares too" He talked to her

Angel then looked at her father. "It'll be okay pretty girl, Daddy will protect you, Don't you worry about a thing," Barley then held her little hand gently but fiercely. Angel then cuddled on her father's chest and fell asleep knowing her father would protect her from those nightmares. Barley then took her to his bed and he fell asleep with her, where in the morning, Ian, Laurel, and Colt will have a heartfelt sight for them to see.

Barley's next dream is where Barley and Ian were playing with two-year-old Angel. They were on the floor and Angel was in Barley's arms and Ian waved around her teddy bear in his hand. Angel tried to squirm in Barley's arms trying to get it and he released her and Ian accidentally threw her teddy on the wall where she ran to go get it and she ended up bumping her head into it causing her to wail. Ian and Barley cringed and ran to her. Ian tried his best to hush her and tried to give her the bear

"You want your little happy bear" Ian weakly sang to her. But it didn't work and she had her hands on her head, still wailing

"Come mere sweetie pie," Barley grabbed her and began to kiss her head as if he were eating her booboo

"Angel...My little Angel...Daddy's gonna eat you up, yum yum yum yum" Barley said playing with her and She began to stop crying

"Daddy's gonna pinch your nose and tickle your toes" Barley pinched her nose and tickled her feet making her laugh "Eat you up...yum yum" Barley then blew a raspberry on her tummy making her squeal and giggle in delight

"Dada...Da-da-da" Angel babbled while laughing. Barley loved seeing his daughter happy and loved her with all of his heart. Ian watched them bond and had a warm smile… For the rest of the day, Angel grew a little restless

Barley woke up to see if Angel was having a nightmare. She luckily wasn't but she turned over in her little bed and her Mr. Fluffy fell out of her arms.

Barley quickly got up and gave her teddy bear back to her and she hugged it in her arms and she smiled in her sleep

Barley then returned to his bed and he fell asleep with a smile on his face too. When she was smiling, he was smiling too

A/N- I had a bit of Inspiration from one of the deleted scenes from Onward which was called Unstoppable. There was one part where younger barley was playing a rock and roll game and I thought that it would be a good idea to use it when Angel was playing the game. Check out the deleted scene too it's pretty cute
