Greetings and Merry Christmas one and all.
I haven't updated my story in ages, but I haven't forgotten any of it I swear. This is the first update I'm posting since Cory's passing this summer. I still remember exactly where I was when I heard the news, and how the same day he passed, I found the complete first season of the show at Half Price Books for $10, and bought it right on the spot. I'm a still a die-hard Finchel fan; earlier this week, I read an article that mentioned how Ryan Murphy was originally going to end the show (and Rachel and Finn would have still been together).
I tell myself that when a pairing breaks up on a show, or an actor/actress leaves the show, that there's still fanfiction - something that can't be taken away.

Dear Rachel,
Sorry to hear that your summer isn't going so good. I bet things will get better when school starts. I know you're gonna be awesome at NYADA; you're born to be in the theatre.
I'm going into the Blue Phase of basic training – it's also called the Warrior Phase; everything I've done looks easy compared to what I'll be doing over the next three weeks.
I have to take a really intense test called the Standard Army Annual PT Examination; if I don't pass this I don't get to graduate with the rest of the platoon. The good news is that we've all been training for this ever since we got here – the bad news is that I need 150 points in order to move on.
If I do pass the PT exam, I get to move onto Field Training Exercises, which deals with nighttime combat. After all of that I finally get to graduate and move onto Advanced Individual Training. I'll still be stationed at Fort Benning as part of the Infantry. After the AIT training, I'll go to a permanent base.
Speaking of graduation – family and friends are more than welcome to come, and we could finally see each other, even if it's only for a day. Graduation day is in about four weeks, on a Saturday – so you wouldn't have to worry about missing classes if you come. Burt, Carol, and Kurt all told me they'd be coming – provided that I pass everything.
Still thinking of you every day.
Love Finn.
