Chapter 30 – Meeting the Family

Lux will be meeting the rest of Ahsoka's family in this chapter. How is that going to go?

Ahsoka, Marina and Lux had just arrived back on Shili. Apart from Marina walking in on Ahsoka and Lux making out, their flight hadn't been that eventful. They had talked about both Onderon and Shili for a while. The two sisters had told Lux about their homeplanet and Lux in return told Marina about several places he had shown Ahsoka before when she was with him the last time. Marina was now completely convinced and was already thinking about planning a vacation to Onderon.
Ahsoka walked out of the ship with Lux. She could see Marina talking with her other sister Lilo who had obviously come to pick them up. Ahsoka sighed as she saw Lilo burst out into laughter. "Obviously Marina just told her about catching me and Lux kissing…" she thought to herself. Ahsoka looked at Lux. The human Senator was blushing slightly. He definitely knew why Lilo and Marina were laughing. "Come on, let's go." Ahsoka said. Lux nodded. "Alright." He replied and they both walked to Marina and Lilo.
Lilo was smiling in a way that made Ahsoka a little uncomfortable when she and Lux reached her. "Hello Ahsoka." Lilo said. "Senator Bonteri, nice to see you again." She said to Lux. "Likewise." Lux replied. Ahsoka could sense a bit of unease coming from him and she understood why. Marina had teased them quite a bit after she'd caught them kissing. They both knew that Lilo would probably tease them later as well. "Lux is going to stay with us for a few days. He has a few days off so we invited him over." Ahsoka explained to her sister. Lilo nodded in return. "Yeah, Marina just told me. You were going to show him around." She said with a teasing smirk on her face. Ahsoka groaned slightly as Marina and Lilo both laughed. "Come on, let's go home." Lilo said and gestured at the speeder a few meters away. They loaded their bags into the speeder and got in. A moment later they were on their way back to their home.

A short drive home later
"So, this is where I live now." Ahsoka said as she gestured at her family's house. Marina and Lilo had already gone inside. Lux looked at the place for a moment. "It looks great Ahsoka." He replied with a smile. Ahsoka smiled as well. "Come on, let's go inside." She said. "Alright, after you." Lux replied and they both walked inside.
As they walked inside Ahsoka could hear Marina talking with their parents. "Rosette is at the neighbor's house, playing with their children." She heard her mother say. "I see, well that's okay." Marina replied. "We have a guest here as well." Marina said as Ahsoka and Lux walked in. Their parents looked curiously at the young human following Ahsoka, already suspecting who he was. "Mom, dad, this is my boyfriend Lux Bonteri." Ahsoka introduced him to them. "So you're the man that captured our daughter's heart." Yuae said with a smile as she walked up to them. "My name is Yuae Tano and this is my husband Haymish." She introduced herself and her husband. "It's nice to meet you ma'am. I've heard a lot of good things about you from Ahsoka." Lux replied kindly as he shook hands with her. "Likewise, young senator." Haymish said as he stepped up and shook hands with him as well. "Ahsoka told us some good things about you as well, and a few less good things too." He added. Lux looked at Ahsoka for an explanation. "Carlacc." Ahsoka said plainly. "Ah yes…" Lux replied. "I wasn't thinking straight at that time and made some terrible mistakes. Lucky for me, your daughter helped me out of that state." He said to Ahsoka's parents. "So we heard." Yuae replied. "Oh, but come on in. Let's sit down." She said with a smile and gestured inside.
A moment later they were all sitting in the living room. Ahsoka and Lux sat on the same couch next to each other. Marina, Lilo and their father sat on the other couch and their mother sat in a chair next to them.
"So, what brings you to Shili senator?" Yuae asked. "Please, just call me Lux. There's no need for everything to be that formal all of the time." Lux replied. "Alright then." Yuae said. Lux nodded and smiled. "I have a few days off right now, so Marina invited me to come to Shili for a while. I had heard some stories about Shili before so I gladly accepted her offer." Lux explained. "Well, I'm glad you did. It's nice to finally meet you after everything Ahsoka told us. It was because of you that we were reunited after all." Yuae said with a smile. Lux smiled as well. "I didn't do that much. I have no doubt that Ahsoka would've been able to find you with or without my help." He replied. "Don't sell yourself short Lux. You did a lot more than that for me. You really came through for me when I needed help." Ahsoka said. "Anything for you." Lux replied. Ahsoka smiled at his comment. "Where were you planning on staying Lux?" Haymish asked. "Don't we still have an empty guest room?" Ahsoka asked her father a little bit confused. "Yes we do, but it's not exactly suitable for guests now." Her father replied. "What do you mean by that?" Ahsoka asked a little bit confused. "There was a little accident involving a bucket of paint. Let's just keep it at that." Lilo replied as her lekku darkened somewhat. "Oh, I see." Ahsoka said. "Uhm… then maybe… eh…" she said while thinking. "Maybe he could stay in Ahsoka's room." Marina said with a teasing smile. "I don't have any problems with that." Ahsoka replied.
As she said this the rest of her family looked at her and Lux with some mixed expressions. "What?" Ahsoka asked when she noticed their looks. "You mean that you two have…" Lilo replied as she pointed at her and Lux. Ahsoka's lekku darkened quite a bit as she caught on to what her sister meant. "No! No, we haven't done that!" Ahsoka said quickly. Lux' face already turned red when he caught on. "You haven't done anything with our daughter?" Her father asked him. "No sir, nothing like that." Lux replied. "Then what did you mean with what you just said Ahsoka?" Her mother asked her. Ahsoka sighed. "I have slept in the same bed with Lux before, but we didn't do anything." She replied, a hint of embarrassment present in her voice thanks to the subject of their conversation. "It was just after I left the Jedi Order and Barriss' questioning. I was very emotional at the time and I really needed some comfort. I didn't want to be alone, so I asked Lux if I could stay with him at night." Ahsoka explained to her family. "So you haven't…?" her mother asked again. "No, we didn't." Ahsoka replied. "You wouldn't try to do anything, would you?" Haymish asked Lux. "Dad, he's not like that." Ahsoka said. "I'm just being a protective parent Ahsoka." Her father replied. "I swear sir, I wouldn't try to force Ahsoka into doing anything she doesn't want. She'd probably beat me up if I did try." Lux told him with a nervous smile. "Alright, I believe you." Haymish replied with a smile. Lux sighed with relief. Ahsoka smiled and looked at her sisters. "What are you two laughing about?" She asked them when she noticed their amused expressions. "Nothing sis." Lilo replied. Ahsoka groaned and looked at her mother again. "So were can Lux stay?" Ahsoka asked. "I saw a hotel not too far from here. I could take a room there." Lux offered. "That won't be necessary. If Ahsoka is fine with it, you can stay with her. As long as you promise not to try any funny business." Yuae replied. "Of course, I promise." Lux said. "Is that alright with you Ahsoka?" He asked as he looked at her. "That's fine with me." Ahsoka replied with a smile. "Are you really alright with this mom?" Ahsoka asked her mother in return. Yuae smiled at her daughter. "I was young too you know. I know what it's like to want to spend time with someone you love." She replied. "Thanks mom." Ahsoka said with a smile.
"I'm going to get some drinks. Who wants something?" Yuae asked if she got up. "I'll help you with that." Lilo said as she got up as well. Lilo walked past the couch Ahsoka and Lux were sitting on and accidentally knocked over one of Lux' bags. The bag opened and several items rolled out. "Oh, I'm sorry. I…" Lilo paused as she saw one of the objects that had rolled out of Lux' bag. The others in the room all looked at it as well. "Uh…Lux?" Ahsoka asked him slowly. He didn't reply. Haymish walked to the contents of his bag and picked up the box of condoms that had rolled out. "Were you planning on using these on my daughter?" he asked Lux. "N-no! Of course not!" Lux replied with a trace of panic in his voice. "I-I mean I would if we… But we didn't! I wasn't going to…" He said in a panicked tone of voice. Everyone in the room was staring at him. "I don't…How did those even get in my bag?!" He asked in confusion. Haymish turned the box around in his hands. "There's a note." He said as he pulled a piece of paper from the box and read it out loud: "Bonteri, have fun on Shili, but remember to behave yourself. Saw."
Lux groaned loudly as he covered his face with his hands and sank into the couch while Ahsoka burst out in laughter. The others looked on confused as Ahsoka almost rolled off the couch. "Uhm… Who is this Saw?" Haymish asked. "One of my friends from Onderon. I should've expected something like this from him." Lux replied with embarrassment in his voice. "That was a good one." Ahsoka said next to him. "That is so like him." She added between her laughter. Marina and Lilo couldn't help but laugh as well. Haymish chuckled as well. "Nothing like a pair of your friends to try and humiliate you in front of your girlfriend's parents." He said smiling. Lux sighed deeply. "No wonder they kept talking for so long." He replied. "Oh, come on Lux." Ahsoka said as she calmed down a bit. "You have to admit, that was a good one. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard." She smiled and nudged his arm. "I suppose it is." Lux replied with another sigh. "I'm sure you can find some nice way to get back at him." Ahsoka said. "If not, I'll help you think of something." She added with a mean smirk. "Sounds like a good plan to me." Lux replied with a small smile. "Come on, we'll put your things in my room and then I'll show you around a bit." Ahsoka said as she stood up. "Alright." Lux replied as he got up as well and began picking up the things that had rolled out of his bag.
"I'm going to pick up Rosette. I'll be back later." Marina said as she headed towards the front door. "Alright, we'll see you in a bit." Yuae replied. Marina nodded in return and left. In the meantime Lux had just gathered his things. Him and Ahsoka picked up his bags and headed upstairs.
"Does that remind you of something?" Yuae asked her husband as she nodded at her daughter and her boyfriend. "You're talking about us, aren't you?" Haymish asked in return as he wrapped his arm around his wife. "That's right." She replied as she returned the hug. They both smiled as they thought back.

A few hours later
Ahsoka and Lux had just returned from her little tour around the neighborhood. "You were right Ahsoka, this really looks like a great place to live." Lux said with a smile as they entered the house again. "I told you so, didn't I?" Ahsoka asked in return. "Yep, you did. You were right, as always." Lux replied in a slightly teasing tone. "Hey!" Ahsoka said as she playfully hit his arm. They both laughed as they entered the living room.
Marina looked up when she heard someone enter. "Ah, you two are back. Nice timing, it's almost time for dinner." She said when she saw Ahsoka and Lux walk in. "That's good to know." Ahsoka replied as they both sat down. She smiled when she saw Rosette looking at Lux with a curious expression. Marina noticed it as well. "Who is that Mommy?" Rosette asked as she looked at her mother. "That's Lux Bonteri. He's the Senator of the planet Onderon and your auntie Ahsoka's boyfriend." Marina explained. "Okay." Rosette replied softly. "Lux, this is my daughter Rosette." Marina said to Lux. "It's nice to meet you Rosette." He replied with a smile. She smiled nervously. "He looks strange." Rosette said softly to her mother. Ahsoka chuckled a little bit when she heard this. "I'm sorry Lux, she hasn't met other species than Togruta before." Marina apologized to Lux. "That's okay. I think we all had that when we were little." He replied. Marina smiled at her daughter. "He looks different because Lux is a human, not a Togruta like us. Remember what I told you? There are a lot of different people in the galaxy." She explained. Rosette nodded and smiled. "Okay!" she replied happily. "What do you have on your head?" Rosette asked him. Ahsoka, Marina and Lux chuckled at her question. "That's hair. Humans like me don't have lekku and montrals like you do. We have hair instead." Lux explained. Rosette nodded excitedly and kept asking questions until it was time for dinner. Then they all moved to the kitchen.
"So Lux, what do you think of Shili so far? Can it compare to Onderon?" Marina asked him as she cut Rosette's food into smaller pieces. "It looks like a great place to live." Lux replied. "This seems like a nice neighborhood." He added. "It certainly is." Lilo said with a smile. "This tastes great misses Tano." Lux said to Yuae after trying some of the food. "Thank you Lux, I'm glad you like it." Yuae replied. "With my family's political background I've been in a lot of fancy restaurants and whatnot. But this tastes a lot better than other things I've had before." Lux said. "That's probably because a lot of it is grown right here on Shili. Several of the vegetables are from my own little garden too." Yuae explained with a smile. "Home-grown food is definitely better than things made artificially on other worlds." Ahsoka added as she took a large bite of the meat in front of her. "I've heard that before, guess I finally have the proof." Lux replied with a smile.
"So dad, where did you leave that little box that fell out of Lux' bag?" Ahsoka asked with a teasing smile on her face. Everyone at the table looked shocked at her first, but laughed a moment later. "You're no different from your mother when she was your age young lady. She loved messing with your grandparents." Haymish replied amused. "But I'm not going to tell you." He added a moment later. "Awww." Ahsoka replied, faking being disappointed by her father's words. Everyone at the table laughed again.

After the dinner Ahsoka and Lux went out into the garden of the house. The temperature was still nice, so Ahsoka wanted to show him the garden. Right now, the two of them were sitting together on the bench.
"So, basically, thanks to the war I've been very busy with all kinds of different forms and documents and whatnot." Lux said. They had been talking about what he was busy with lately. "Wow, politics really aren't my thing then." Ahsoka replied with a mocking smile. Lux chuckled at her remark. "So what have you been up to these days?" He asked. "Well, after I prevented a massive accident at a construction site, the Royal family gave me an official position as advisor and protector." Ahsoka replied with a smile. "I've helped my sisters with a few issues as well as Princess Vashee. But lately I've been training with the H'Raani M'Kai, the Shilian royal guard and I've been practicing with the Force." She continued. "The H'Raani M'Kai, they were the Togruta in the green armour right? The ones that were with you on Felucia?" Lux asked. Ahsoka nodded. "Yes, that's right. They're very powerful warriors, trained in our people's traditional fighting styles." She explained. "I'm currently learning those same techniques. I find it really fascinating to learn about my Togrutan heritage." Ahsoka said with a smile. Lux smiled as well when he heard the excitement in her voice. "That sounds great. So I guess the next time we meet you'll be even stronger huh?" He asked in return. "Oh, definitely." Ahsoka replied. They both laughed for a moment before Ahsoka shivered a bit from the cold that was starting to settle in. Lux wrapped his arm around her and pulled her into a hug. Ahsoka happily returned the hug and they sat huddled together on the bench for a while.

Night had fallen over Shili and Ahsoka sat on her bed wearing a purple pajama-like dress. Lux was currently changing in the refresher. Her parents were going to let them share a bed, but they had decided not to push it. She sensed Lux about to knock so she waved her hand and opened the door with the Force. Ahsoka chuckled a bit at the stunned expression on Lux' face as the door opened in front of him. He smiled when he saw her sitting on the bed. She gestured for him to come closer and he didn't wait to do so.
They both crawled in the bed and cuddled together. "I missed being around you so much." Ahsoka said as she kissed him deeply. "I missed you as well 'Soka." Lux replied after they broke the kiss. "At least we have a few days together now." Lux said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her. "We'll definitely make the most of it." Ahsoka replied with a similar smile. Lux kissed her forehead and Ahsoka rested her head against his chest. "Good night Luxie." Ahsoka said. "Good night 'Soka." Lux replied and they both drifted off to sleep.
