Dear Rachel,
I got a letter from Mom and Burt telling me everything about Kurt moving to New York; how he didn't want to attend Allen County Community College and help Mr. Schue with Glee Club. I get where he's coming from – I spent most of my senior year being afraid of becoming a 'Lima Loser'. The Army will not only pay for my education, but it lets me take time to figure out what it is that I want to do.
My cooking skills are really improving – can't wait to show them to you on Thanksgiving weekend. I know it's a little over a month away, but sometimes it's all I think about. I'll be sitting in the classroom learning about different types of training and techniques, and I'll think about you and everyone from New Directions. I've been writing to Mr. Schue, and he's feeling better about the new group. He thinks there's a good balance of upper and underclassmen that will help us take Sectionals this year. Sectionals is the week before Thanksgiving; hopefully we'll have plenty to celebrate. I wish I could be there for the team, but I can only get so much time off – I was lucky to be able to get Thanksgiving.
