Angel- 3

At the lightfoot house, Barley played with his daughter Angel. She was currently flying a kite with the help of her father.

"My kite is going, my kite is going…" Angel cheered

Yeah, there it goes…" the father and daughter watch the kite glide in the sky and the wind gave Angel a chill. She looked up at the sky and smiled.

"Hello, sky…" Angel said. Barley chuckled at his little one.

"Daddy's gonna get you a coat, Can you stay and be a good girl…" Barley asked.

"Uh-huh…" Barley rumpled up his daughter's hair and went inside. He scavenged his room to give his girl a jacket and found a yellow rain jacket and went back outside to find Angel staring up

"Sweetie, what's wrong…"

"My kite is stuck…" Angel pointed at a tree that has her yellow kite held captive in a branch. "I can get it" the girl took off her rainboots and began to climb the tree.

"Be careful sweetheart…" Barley called. He saw something on the branch and knew something wasn't right. Angel climbed on the branch and began to shake it to get the kite down and then the branch snapped, causing her to fall. Thankfully, Barley was there to catch her.

"Yippie I got my kite back…" Angel said with glee.

"You might wanna drop the stick, it has poison oak…" Barley reminded her

Angel panicked and dropped the stick, but unfortunately, her hand already showed redness from the stick.

"It's okay...We'll just get some mud…"

"Mud mud mud…" Angel bounced in his arms.

Barley smiled, placing his daughter back on the ground. He looked around and spotted mud nearby the fence, dug a little, and placed it on Angel's hand

"There we are, that should stop the itching" barley whispered

"I wanna play some more…" Angel said

Then drops of rain began to pour on the two. Angel moaned disappointedly and Barley quickly covered her with her vest, picking her up in his arms.

"Let's go inside, We can have some cookies and watch movies…"

"Yay…" His daughter cheered, Making Barley smile once more.

Once they got inside, A large plate of cookies, popcorn, and warm blankets was settled around Angel and Barley while they were watching movies, ignoring the mild storm outside

"Daddy...My hand itches…" Angel turned to her father.

"Try your best not to worry about it, the more you itch, the more painful it'll be…"

Angel had a strong urge to itch her hand and she did almost everything to try and avoid it.

She shook her hand a few times and her face was a little scrunched, feeling how itchy her hand was. Barley glanced at her and got up off the couch and went into his room.

He returned with a small orange glove that belonged to Angel and placed it on her itchy hand.

"Thank you, my hand doesn't itch anymore," Angel whispered.

"More cookies and milk my darling…" Barley asked. Angel nodded wildly and Barley went into the kitchen to fetch her some. When he came back, the two continued their movie marathon until they went to sleep

The next morning as Barley was getting Angel ready for school, He took off the glove that he gave her to cover the poison oak and washed her hand. As they both inspected it, the red marks were good

"It's gone, My poison oak, it's gone…" Angel cheered

"Oh good…okay, time to finish up and get ready…"

"Okay, Daddy…." Angel replied.

Barley then wanted Angel about the dangers of poison oak and poison ivy, which Angel took to the heart.
