"Can you believe that these were our lockers," Rachel gushed, thumbing the combination lock. "All of the conversations, the stolen looks, the…"

"Kisses," Finn cut in, planting a quick one on Rachel's mouth.

"Those too," Rachel grinned. Rachel was lost in her McKinley reunion with Finn, remembering every classroom, every hallway, and every staircase.

"We're going to be late for the New Directions reunion," Rachel said quietly as Finn ran his fingers through her long dark hair.

"We've been late before," Finn said, shrugging off the comment with a grin.

Mr. Schue had invited any current or graduated member of the New Directions to a reunion in the choir room. Most former and current students were attending that Friday afternoon, some of whom hadn't seen each other in months, or in the case of the new students, some of them had never met each other before.

"Good thing I like making an entrance," Rachel reminded herself, straightening her star necklace. Hooking her arm in Finn's, they sauntered down the hall, passing Sam and Mercedes on the way.

"Hey strangers!" Quinn called out once they entered the classroom, pulling everyone into a big group hug.

Rachel said her hellos, and then heard the familiar chime of her phone in her pocket, indicating that she had another text message from someone who wasn't there that day. "Save me a seat," she whispered to Finn, kissing his cheek.

"Sure," Finn promised as he walked into the choir room.

Rachel ducked behind the nearest stairwell and thumbed her phone. She had been receiving more than a few texts over her weekend at home, and figured that now was as good a time as any to check on them. Rachel highlighted the first message and frowned – another text from Brody Weston. Her conversation with Kurt about Brody rang in her ears.

"Rachel!"

Rachel shoved her phone back in her pocket, waving at Tina. Flashing her friend a quick smile, she once again pushed Brody out of her mind. "How are you?"

"Good," Tina said, hugging her friend. "Mike's in town and he wants to talk to me."

"Mike Chang?" Rachel asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We've been texting since Halloween. I think he misses me."
"Well I know you miss him," Rachel joked.

Tina smiled, unable to disagree. "I've been thinking about this all summer – hoping that he'd come to his senses."

"Is he coming to the reunion?"

"He said he'd try." Tina and Rachel walked down the hallway together.

"Divas!" Mercedes squealed as Tina and Rachel came into the room.

"I missed you Mercedes," Rachel said, taking a seat next to her friend.

"You still making your presence known at NYADA?"

"You know she is," Finn cut in, grabbing a seat on the other side of Rachel. Finn extended one hand to high-five Puck as he sauntered into the room.

"So you two are still together," Puck smirked, wrapping his arm around Quinn.

"Why wouldn't we be?" Rachel asked confidently.

"You know who we haven't seen yet," Santana mused, lowering her sunglasses. "Any of the newbies of New Directions."

"They're around," Sam said, jotting notes on his shoes.

"What are you doing?" Artie asked.

"Making sure I pass my finals," Sam replied.

Tina and Artie held back a laugh as Brittany explained how Lord Tubbington was helping her study this year.

"Hey," Mr. Schue called out, taking the room front and center. "I want you all to meet the newest members of New Directions." Brad began to play "Footloose" on the piano as five eager students raced inside, bringing all of their energy with them. At Mercedes urging, the graduates and upperclassmen joined in, with everyone moving around.

"And that is going to win us Sectionals!" Mr. Schue shouted, raising his fist in the air. "I'd like you guys to meet Marley Rose, Jake Puckerman, Ryder Lynn, Wade 'Unique' Adams, and Kitty Wilde."

The upperclassmen applauded the newest members, noticing more than a few similarities with the new students.

"So she's the new me?" Rachel whispered to Tina, pointing at Marley.

"The female version of you – since Blaine technically won Artie's contest," Sam added.

"We're still missing Kurt and Blaine," Quinn pointed out over the din.

"I saw them talking under the stairwell – well arguing would be more accurate," Santana noted. "Kurt seemed pretty upset."

"Kurt seemed fine before," Rachel mused.

"Mike's not here either," Tina said, pulling out her phone to make a quick text.

Finn pulled Rachel closer to his body. "Kurt's a big boy, I'm sure he's okay," Finn assured her.

Rachel nodded her head, watching the newer members of New Directions, who were all sitting on one side of the room. Rachel studied young Marley Rose, with her rosy cheeks and tall build. She's the new me, Rachel wondered, resting her hand under her chin. The jury's still out on the 'new' New Directions. Rachel spied Kitty applying her makeup with a Hello Kitty compact, and could have sworn that she was seeing shades of Quinn Fabray. She could definitely see the resemblance between Jake and his half-brother Noah, both of whom carried a very confident swagger about them wherever they went. Rachel eyed Ryder, with wide eyes as he banged on the drums in the corner of the classroom. He's the new Finn she mused, so taken with him that she was oblivious to how Will had left the choir room to talk to Emma out in the hall.

Will walked back into the classroom, holding Emma's hand, signaling for Ryder to stop drumming. "Guys, I have something to say," Will said, commanding the attention of the room.

"Should we wait for Kurt and Blaine?" Mercedes asked, craning her neck to see if the boys were coming in.

"No," Will insisted, his voice shaking, squeezing Emma's hand for support. "We – Emma just got a phone call from Mike's parents."

"Is he okay?" Tina interjected, sitting up straighter. "He said he was coming today."

Will shook his head, stifling a sob. "There's been an accident."

Artie instinctively put his hand on Tina's shoulder to keep her steady. The room was silent as Will continued.

"He was on his way here, and was hit by a truck on the highway…" Will couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence.

"Where is he?" Mercedes called out, blinking back tears.

"Lima County Hospital," Emma said, dabbing her eyes.

Tina began to sob on Artie's shoulder as Emma tried to explain what the Changs had told her over the phone. Finn pulled Rachel's waist towards his body.

"This cannot be happening again," she hoarsely whispered. "Two car accidents for us in one year?"

What are the odds, Finn thought to himself, rubbing Rachel's back.

"Can we see him at the hospital?" Quinn asked, her arm intertwined with Puck's. "We should be there with him," she suggested, knowing full well how important friendship was during this time.

Various heads nodded in agreement. Will signaled that the meeting was going to be moved to the hospital right away.

"Can we come too?" Marley said shyly. She was the first of the underclassmen to speak. "I know we never met him, but we'd like to support everyone – if you don't mind." Unique, Ryder, Kitty, and Jake indicated that they wished to come as well.

"That's really great of you guys," Will said. He had wanted this weekend to be about team bonding with new and old members, but he never wanted it to happen like this.

One by one everyone stood up to leave and carpool to the hospital. Artie stayed back with Tina in the room, their heads bent down in deep whispers.

"I have to find Kurt before we go," Rachel told Finn, telling him that she would meet him in the parking lot.

Finn gave Rachel a deep kiss on the mouth as he turned to go. "I love you."

"I love you too," Rachel waved, wiping another tear. She began to walk the deserted halls, calling out Kurt's name. The phone in her purse buzzed once more and Rachel pulled it out, frustratingly turning it to silent.

"Hey." Kurt walked down the stairwell. His eyes were red.

"Oh my God. You already know," Rachel said, reaching out and taking Kurt's hand.

Kurt winced at Rachel. "Know what?"

Rachel bit her lower lip, at a loss for words.

"Blaine and I just broke up." Kurt stepped off the bottom step.

"Oh Kurt," Rachel said with a sigh.

Kurt smacked his hand on the stairwell. "Apparently when you're out of sight, you're out of mind, because he's met someone else."

Rachel said nothing, waiting for Kurt to continue.

"Some guy named Eli…Eli!" Kurt spat out his name like venom.

Rachel sat down on the steps, encouraging Kurt to join her.

"Are they seeing each other?"

"Blaine insists it was just a hook up, but at this point, it doesn't even matter anymore. I can't even look at him!"

Rachel pulled Kurt into a hug. "I am so sorry," she murmured.

"He said he wanted to come clean about everything, so that we could move on and rebuild our relationship. I don't see how that could ever happen." Kurt pulled out of Rachel's embrace. "What's going on with you?" Kurt asked. "Did you and Finn have a fight?"

"No…" Rachel said slowly, standing up. "Something's happened to Mike Chang – he's in the hospital." Rachel helped Kurt up took his hand, leading him to the front doors.

"Is he okay?" Kurt asked, thoughts of Blaine being pushed out of his mind.

Rachel shook her head. "The whole glee club is going to the hospital to see him. Why don 't you ride with me and Finn?"

"That's fine," Kurt agreed.

Rachel paused at the front door. "Blaine might be at the hospital too, is that going to be a problem for you?"

Kurt adamantly shook his head. "Nope; Mike is more important to me than Blaine is right now." Kurt pushed the door open, waving at Finn who was waiting in Burt's truck.

Rachel pushed her hair out of her face, preparing herself for a very long day.
