Chapter 47 – Leaving on Vacation
I'm back with another chapter.
I feel that this chapter took me far longer than I originally wanted it too, so my apologies about that. I have the main story events already planned out, but I have this nasty tendency of getting stuck on the smaller scenes that lead up to that. It made this chapter take longer than I wanted too.
I've decided to change a few things for this chapter. I moved one part to the next one for two reasons, I didn't want to delay this chapter further and it fits nicer into the next one as well. That's why this chapter is a little shorter than I originally planned.
Still, I hope you enjoy the chapter.
Oh, and a little message to some reviewers, I'm not planning on giving up on this story anytime soon. I've got a storyline in my head that'll take place over several months already. I honestly have no idea how many chapters I'm going to make for this story, but it's going to be a lot. It'll just take me a lot of time to get everything written out. But rest assured, this story will keep going for a long time.
Because this chapter takes place on Shili, "Text like this" is in Togruti and /Text like this/ is in Basic.

Ahsoka Tano smiled as she observed the scene in front of her. She was teaching Aisha about the Force again. It had only been a few days since they had started with the Force, but Aisha was proving to be somewhat of a natural. Ahsoka was very proud of her already.
However, this would be their last practice session for a little while. Later that day, Lux would be picking her up for their vacation. She was really looking forward to it. All of her things were already packed up and she was ready to go. Her sisters had been mercilessly teasing her for the past days, but she wouldn't let that get to her. She was going to enjoy every minute she spend with Lux.
Right now though, she was enjoying the scene in front of her. She had done more meditating with Aisha, followed by a little Force exercise. She had been demonstrating how to levitate a small object with the Force. Ahsoka had been levitating a small rubber ball in front of her and had instructed Aisha to sense what she was doing and focus the Force in the same way, to concentrate in making the small ball defy gravity.
What Aisha didn't know however, was that Ahsoka had stopped using the Force to levitate the ball herself a minute ago. Aisha was unknowingly lifting it all on her own right now. She silently chuckled a bit to herself and sat backwards a little. "Alright Aisha, now open your eyes slowly," she told her sister after a couple more seconds.
Aisha heard Ahsoka's voice and slowly opened her eyes like she said. The ball was still floating in front of her. To her surprise, her sister was just resting there. "What are you doing? Aren't you still using the Force?" she asked confused.
Ahsoka shook her head. "No," she replied with a smile. "I stopped a moment ago. This is all you," she said as she gestured at the floating ball.
Aisha went wide-eyed in shock and the ball fell to the floor. It bounced a few times before it stopped moving completely.
Ahsoka couldn't help but laugh a little at her reaction. "See? Using the Force is not as difficult as you think it is right now," she told her. "The Force can help you in all kinds of ways. You just have to doubt yourself less and you'll find it becoming easier to connect to it."
Aisha nodded. "Alright, I'll do my best," she replied with a smile.
"Now, seeing as I'll be going on vacation with Lux, we'll have to pause the training for a bit," Ahsoka told her sister. Aisha looked a bit disappointed, but she nodded understandingly. "However," Ahsoka continued as she stood up. "I won't just leave you like this." She moved to a desk at the side of her bedroom and took something from a shelf, before walked back to Aisha and gave it to her.
Aisha took it and looked it over. It was an actual paper printed book that looked to be quite old already. The title read "The Jedi Path". She opened it up and looked at the first page. There was a list of names on it. Her sister's name was at the bottom of the list. Above hers was the name of Anakin Skywalker, her Jedi Master. She also recognized the name Obi-Wan Kenobi and that of Master Yoda at the top. She looked back at Ahsoka for an explanation.
"These books are used in the Order for studying the Force. The younglings get a shorter version that focusses on the basics. But when they become a Padawan, they get the complete version from their Master," she explained. Ahsoka pointed at the list of names. "As you can tell, this one has been passed down quite a bit already. Obi-Wan got it from his Master, then gave it to Anakin, who in turn gave it to me. And now, it's yours." She smiled at her sister. "I've made a list of chapters on that datapad that you can study while I'm away. It'll teach you more about the Force and its history and that of the Jedi Order as well, if you want to."
Aisha smiled at her. "Thank you, I'll take good care of it," she replied happily. Just from looking at the index, she could tell that there was a lot of information in the book. It made her feel quite excited.
"I know you will," Ahsoka said as she sat down on her bed. "Truth be told, I was rather surprised to find it amongst my things. I guess that Master Luminara Unduli packed it for me as well, maybe the Force told her to." She shrugged. "It doesn't really matter, we can put it to good use now." She smiled and got up. "Come on, let's get a snack. All that practice is making me hungry."
"Okay," Aisha replied with a smile. She got up as well, made sure she had the book and followed her sister downstairs.

Royal palace
Marina walked through the halls of the palace with her daughter Rosette. She was somewhat nervous. After all, she was about to tell her daughter who her father was. She wasn't really sure how she would react to that. It had certainly shocked her to her core, but things were looking up again now.
Zolar and her and spend a lot of time talking with their parents, answering a lot of their questions. It had been a very long talk, but they had finally worked everything out. Now, they were beginning to discuss the planning for their wedding. She was very excited about that, she couldn't deny that.
"Everything is going to change so much now," Marina thought as they walked. "But at least I'm finally together with Zolar. I never thought that I would actually happen." She couldn't help but smile. She was looking forward to spending a lot more time with him. Also, she was looking forward to spending a night with him that she would actually remember. Even though she knew that her sisters would tease her to death when they find out.
A few minutes later she was sitting in her office at the palace with her daughter. Rosette was eagerly looked around the room, seeing as she'd never been there before. After having spent a couple of minutes checking everything, Rosette sat down next to her mother. "Mommy, what are we doing here?" she asked in a curious voice.
"I learned something a couple of days ago and I wanted to tell you about it now," she replied. "But we have to wait until someone else gets here." As she said that, someone knocked on the door. "Ah, perfect timing. Come in."
The door opened and prince Zolar walked in. A smile appeared on his face when he saw Marina and Rosette in the room. He moved towards them and sat down next to them. "Hello you two, how are you doing?"
"We're both doing fine, Zolar," Marina replied. She was feeling a little better now that he was here. She looked at her daughter. "We have something very important to tell you Rosette."
"Really, what is it?" Rosette asked excitedly.
"It's about Zolar, sweetie," Marina replied as she pointed at him. Rosette looked between him and her mother with a curious look on her face. "He's your daddy, sweetheart," Marina told her daughter.
"He is?" Rosette asked with a surprised look on her face.
Marina nodded. "That's right, he really is," she replied with a smile. They both looked at Zolar who nodded as well.
Rosette looked at him with wide eyes for a moment, before she threw herself at him. "Daddy!" she said, giggling happily. She hugged him tightly and he hugged her back.
Marina sighed with relief and smiled at them. Rosette was taking it a lot better than she had herself.
Rosette pulled back from the hug, still smiling. She then got a curious look on her face. "Why didn't you say you were my daddy earlier?" she asked.
Zolar was somewhat surprised by her sudden question. "I really wanted too, believe me," he replied after a few seconds. "But it was really difficult for me to do so. I've been quite a large fool, so I hope you can forgive me for that. It may seem a bit difficult for you to understand right now, but you'll understand when you're older."
"Okay daddy," Rosette said with a smile. She turned back to her mother. "Is daddy coming to live with us now?" she asked excitedly.
Marina smiled at her daughter's question. "No, not yet dear," she replied. "We need to take care of a couple of things first, it may take a few weeks. But after that, we'll all be together as a family." With those words, she moved towards them and shared a quick kiss with Zolar. Rosette giggled happily as she sat between her parents. Marina and Zolar smiled at her happiness.

A few hours later
The entire Tano family was back at home again. Rosette had been very eager to tell everyone that she knew who her father was. She had been smiling for hours already and didn't look like she was going to stop anytime soon.
Marina was still very glad that everything had worked out so well. She was especially glad that her daughter had accepted it so well. There was no doubt that her daughter would love to move in with her father. Truth be told, she was looking forward to it herself as well.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the door opened and Ahsoka and Aisha walked into the living room. She immediately send her sister a teasing look. Her boyfriend was due to pick her up in a little while and her and Lilo had been making the most of their teasing time. They had also prepared a little surprise for their little sister, it was only too bad that they wouldn't get to see her face when she finds out.
"Hey Ahsoka," Marina said. "All set for your little vacation with your boyfriend?" she asked in a teasing voice. The tone of her voice made Aisha giggle a little, while Ahsoka's lekku turned a bit darker.
Ahsoka then gained a teasing grin of her own. "Like you're not looking forward to spending some quality time with your soon-to-be husband," she teased back.
Marina's face turned to shock and her lekku darkened. Seeing this caused Aisha to break out into laughter. Ahsoka couldn't help but laugh at Marina's shock as well. It was pretty clear to both of them that she really wanted to spend with the prince. She shook her head and sat down on the couch with Aisha.
At that moment their mother walked into the room. She smiled when she saw Ahsoka. "Ah, Ahsoka. Did you pack everything for your vacation?" she asked as she sat down next to them.
Ahsoka looked at her mother and smiled. "Yes, I got everything I need," she replied. "I'm really excited about this. Naboo is a wonderful planet and I'm sure that we'll have a good time there." She ignored Marina's teasing glance as she said this.
Yuae chuckled a bit. "I remember the first holiday alone I had with your father," she said with a happy sigh. "It was a wonderful time and I'm sure that you both will have a good time as well. What time was he going to be here again?"
Ahsoka looked at the chrono and checked the time. "He should arrive on Shili in about an hour, so I think he'll be here sometime after that," she replied. "We should arrive on Naboo in the evening, so we'll be able to start the next day well-rested."
"Sounds like a good plan, sis," Marina said with a smile. "When you get back, let me know how the area there is. I've heard that Naboo is a great destination for a vacation, but you'll know that for certain."
Now Ahsoka gave her sister a teasing smile. "Why? Looking for a nice honeymoon destination?" she asked. Marina instantly blushed and they laughed at her shocked expression.
"I'm going to make some tea, anyone else want some?" Yuae asked the family as she got up. After a few positive responses, she made her way to the kitchen.

About two hours later
Ahsoka smiled as the doorbell finally rang. She had sensed that Lux had arrived on Shili and had been waiting for him as patiently as she could. Now that he was here, she got up from the couch and quickly made her way to the front door, ignoring Lilo's comments.
As she opened the door, her smile got even wider. /Lux, it's great to see you again,/ she greeted him excitedly.
Lux smiled at her as well. /It's wonderful to see you as well, Ahsoka,/ he replied. /Especially after this busy time I had./
Ahsoka stepped outside and they shared a deep kiss. /I'm really glad that you're here,/ Ahsoka said after they parted. /I'm really looking forward to this./
/So am I,/ Lux replied. /I've been waiting to spend more time with you and this is the perfect opportunity. The place I booked looked great, I'm sure you'll love it./
/I'm sure I will,/ Ahsoka said. /Oh, but come on in. I'll grab my things and we'll be able to leave in a few minutes. Speaking of which, where are your bags?/ she asked when she noticed he didn't have anything with him.
/It's all on the ship. I'm using a smaller diplomatic shuttle of Onderon, King Dendup said I could take it for my time off,/ Lux explained. /We won't have to reply on interplanetary transports that way./
/Nice thinking Lux,/ Ahsoka replied. /Getting around will be a lot easier that way. Now, let's go inside. There's someone I want you to meet as well./
Her words made him a bit curious as he followed her inside. They walked into the living where the rest of her family was. /Hey guys, Lux just arrived,/ Ahsoka told them.
Yuae smiled at the young man. /Senator Bonteri, it's good to see you again,/ she said.
Lux smiled and looked at the rest of the family. "It's good to seeing you all again," he said in Togruti, surprising the family. /Did I say that right?/ he asked Ahsoka.
/Almost,/ Ahsoka replied as she smiled. /You just mispronounced see as seeing. Other than that, it was good. I didn't know that you've been studying Togruti./
/I have a feeling that I'll be spending more time on Shili, so I wanted to learn the language,/ Lux explained. /Although, I'm studying what's called Togruti-B. Being a Human, I can't fully speak Togruti like you do./ He shrugged. /I've picked up the basics relatively easy, but I still have a long way to go./
Yuae smiled at him. /It's nice to see such commitment from you,/ she replied. /Our daughter deserves to have someone like you./
/Uhm, thank you,/ Lux said a bit surprised and embarrassed. He looked around the room and saw a face he didn't recognize from his previous visit. A younger Togrutan girl with red skin was also sitting in the room, he'd estimate her at about twelve. /Hello there, I don't believe we've met before,/ he said to her with a smile.
She shook her head. /No, we haven't,/ she replied as she studied Lux a bit.
Ahsoka walked up to him. /Aisha, this is my boyfriend Lux Bonteri. Lux, this is my little sister Aisha,/ she introduced them to each other.
Lux looked at her in surprise. /I didn't know that you had a younger sister,/ he replied. /It's nice to meet you Aisha./
/It's nice to meet you as well,/ Aisha said with a smile. /Ahsoka told me a lot about you./
They all moved and sat down in the living room. /How did you meet each other? If you don't telling me, that is,/ Lux asked Ahsoka and Aisha.
/No, that's okay,/ Aisha replied. /Ahsoka saved me and now I'm a part of her family,/ she said with a smile. /I really like living with everyone and Ahsoka is teaching me about the Force./
/Really?/ Lux asked as he looked at Ahsoka. /She can use the Force as well?/
Ahsoka nodded. /That's right,/ she replied with a smile. /She can use the Force and I'm going to teach her how to do it. We already did some practice together and I'm sure she'll get the hang of it in no time./
Lux smiled and looked at Aisha. /Well, I've seen myself what Ahsoka can do and I know that she's only gotten stronger since then. I'm sure that she'll be able to teach you a lot,/ he told her. Aisha smiled back at him.
/It's been wonderful having her as a part of the family,/ Yuae said with a smile, causing Aisha to blush a bit. /And I'm sure that we'll be seeing more of you as well, am I right?/
Lux nodded. /That's what I'm hoping for,/ he replied. /Like I told Ahsoka, the past weeks have been really hectic for me. However, things are settling down again. I should be able to get everything more organized and do more from a distance. We'll be able to spend more time together./ he told Ahsoka with a smile.
/That sounds great, Lux,/ Ahsoka replied with a smile. /But don't forget about doing your duties just for me./
/If that's what you want, I'll make sure not to,/ Lux said. He checked the time. /Well, my ship should be fully refueled now, so we can leave whenever you want to./
/Alright, I'll grab my things,/ Ahsoka replied as she got up and quickly made her way upstairs. She returned a short minute later with a suitcase and a bag pack. /Okay, I'm ready to go./
Lux got up as well and walked towards her. /Should I offer to take your bag this time or not?/ he asked in a slightly teasing tone, thinking back to their first meeting.
Ahsoka chuckled a bit. She knew exactly what he was talking about. /Well, alright then,/ she replied as she held out her suitcase. /Thanks Lux./ He chuckled as well as he took her suitcase.
Yuae made her way to her daughter as well. /Have fun, sweetheart,/ she said as she gave her daughter a quick kiss on the forehead.
/I'm sure we will, mom,/ Ahsoka replied with a smile. /Goodbye everyone, I'll see you again in a week or so,/ she said to the rest of her family. After a short round of goodbyes, Ahsoka and Lux left the house. They loaded Ahsoka's luggage into the speeder and made their way to the spaceport where Lux had his ship. After making sure that everything was loaded up and the ship fully fueled, they took off on their vacation.
;-
The next day
Marina and Lilo were in the oldest sister's office in the palace. They had a good laugh earlier at imagining Ahsoka's reaction to the little surprise they had hidden in her suitcase before she left. It was unfortunate that they wouldn't get to see it themselves. But, it did give them a good opportunity to tease her when she returned.
Secretly, Marina was a bit jealous of her little sister. Being away with the man she loved, it was something that she herself would want too. Fortunately, in a few weeks' time, she'd have a good opportunity herself for that.
Right now, she and Lilo were discussing some goods that would be moved from Shili to Kiros to help there. The two of them being the Senators of both planets made such things a lot easier. Still, Marina knew that her sister was more eager to discuss their next item, her upcoming wedding. Lilo had quite a few ideas for it that she wanted to share with her sister.
Their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door, which surprised them both quite a bit. "Come in," Marina said after a short moment. The door opened and Princess Zaa Vashee walked in.
"Good morning you two," Zaa greeted them cheerfully. "How's everything going?"
"Everything's going fine, milady," Lilo replied as she and Marina bowed. "We've almost worked out all of the details for the supplies for Kiros."
"That's good," she said. "But just one thing, call me Zaa. We're going to be family in a few weeks, so there's no need for that stuff anymore." She smiled at both sisters.
Marina and Lilo looked at each other briefly. "Sounds good to me," Marina replied as she smiled at Zaa. "So, what brings you here? We weren't really expecting you now."
A bit of a mischievous smile spread on Zaa's face. "Well, now that you ask," she began as she walked up to the two sisters. "There's a little something I've been thinking of and now that Ahsoka is away, it's the perfect time to put things in motion. I've discussed it with my family already and they like the idea, especially considering all that Ahsoka's done for us and Shili."
"You're working on a little surprise for her again, aren't you?" Lilo asked with a smile. "So, what is it about?" She and Marina both agreed with Zaa when she had told them some time ago that she felt that Ahsoka had earned more of a reward than she was willing to accept. It was obvious to them both that Zaa wasn't having that and wouldn't let Ahsoka say no to whatever it was that she was planning now.
Zaa took out the datapad she had brought with her and pulled up something on it. "I've been discussing a number of things with my brother and the warriors of the H'Raani M'Kai that Ahsoka's been training with," she explained to them. "This is the result of that." She smiled and handed them the datapad.
Both sisters went wide-eyed as they saw what was on it. "You're really planning on doing this for her?" Marina asked in surprise.
Zaa nodded and both sisters smiled. "We'd be happy to help with that," Lilo said.
;-
That's the end of this chapter.
As you may have noticed, the departure Ahsoka and Lux to Naboo happened, but nothing more than that. I decided to move their flight and arrival to the next chapter, so I can combine that with the official start of their vacation there. I think it works nicer that way.
Zaa Vashee is quite busy again with working on something for Ahsoka. You may recall that Ahsoka asked her not to go overboard with it when she returned from Kiros, but Zaa said no promises. She's got something nice planned for Ahsoka this time.
Togruti-B is a language created by Johnt12345 here on fanfiction. He used the language in his stories before and he has created an impressive dictionary for the language. You can find it on his profile, so look it up if you want to learn more about it. I don't think I'll have as much time to make it as detailed as he can, though, but Togruti-B did make a good addition to my story for Lux, so thanks to John for letting me use it.
Now, a little something about my planning for updates. First, I'm going to finish up The Hidden Truth. This story has two chapters left, so I'm going to make those and end the story. These chapters are already spooking through my head, so I hope writing them doesn't take all too long.
When I'm finished with those, I'll write the next chapter for Tale of a Togruta, which is the start of Ahsoka and Lux's vacation. Rebirth of Light will be updated after that, followed by a dual update for Tale of a Togruta and A Mirialan's story.
That's enough from me now. Until next time.
