Sorry yo, I've been pretty busy lately. I'll try to be as consistent as I can. Here you are, from Beck's P.O.V. Slow chapter, sorry, I'm too tired rn.
Beck's P.O.V
Jade was acting really weird today, something was really off.
I guess I should explain what that means. Tori wasn't here today, that's not unusual; everyone gets sick, everyone takes a day or two off. But, for some reason, this was visibly bothering Jade. Trust me, I dated her for 4 years, I know when something is bothering her. It all began in math; she had this interesting look on her face. Usually it's a scowl, but today it was a worried frown.
So I made sure to pay special attention to her for the rest of the day. We parted ways for the next period (not like she said anything to me, we've been separated for a while now) and I watched as she glanced at Tori's locker on the way to her next class. Okay, something is definitely up, and Jade knows more than she's telling.
I get into my English class and take my usual seat next to Andre.
"What's up man?" Andre says as he swivels in his seat to face me.
"Hey Andre" I murmur, my mind more on how Jade was acting today more than anything. I still care about her as a friend, even after the break-up.
Andre seems to take notice of this and gives me a slight nudge with his fist. "Seriously Beck, what's going on?" He asks genuinely concerned, he's one of my best friends for a reason.
I sigh, maybe Andre knows something, he is one of Tori's best friends after all. "You've noticed that Tori hasn't been here for the past few days right?"
"Now that you mention it, yeah I have. It's actually kinda weird, maybe she's sick?" He states as he watches our teacher walk in.
"Ugh, I don't know man. I mean we don't usually talk in the first place, but I have a weird feeling that it's more than that" I whisper as Mrs. Steep starts to write on the board.
Andre gets the drift and writes his reply on a piece of scrap paper that was sitting on his desk.
Why do you say that? He carefully passes it to me as our teacher's back is turned.
Jade is acting kinda weird lately….er actually, make that really weird. I write, passing it back to him.
I watch Steep as he writes, making sure she isn't looking over our side of the class at all.
What kind of weird, the serial killer hiding the secret murder weird, or….?
I hold in a laugh as I read what he has written, muffling the sound with my sleeve and turning it into a cough.
Lol no, not that weird, trust me, you'd probably know if it was that weird. She just looks really worried; like she saw something she shouldn't have or knows something. I fold the paper up and purposely knock it onto the floor by Andre's feet.
I watch him furrow his brow, and then relax it. Of course he trusts my opinion, I'm her Ex of 4 years.
Hmm. I'll keep an eye on her. I'm pretty worried now too, since you mentioned it. He passes the note back right as the bell rings.
"I'll keep you updated man" I say after I read the last answer.
Andre just nods and leaves the class; I take a deep breath and exhale it with a sigh. Today is going to be a long day. As I'm walking to lunch, I see Robbie and Rex. Maybe they can add some comedy to my dull and worrisome day.
"Hey Rob, hello Rex" I greet the puppet warily, sometimes it's just too weird.
"Hey look, it's HA's very own Johnny Depp" the puppet sneers, Robbie smacks him.
"Shut it Rex" The curly haired boy sighs. "Sorry Beck" I laugh, Depp isn't an insult to me, sneer or not.
"What's up Rob?" I ask with another chuckle, his life can be pretty interesting. But it's mainly a distraction right now.
"Oh ya know, just going to lunch. Rex has managed to simultaneously ruin my chances with a girl while getting her to go on a date with him instead" Robbie says, giving Rex a dirty look.
I laugh, wondering how in the hell that happens. "Okay then….let's just go to lunch, okay?" I chuckle some more as we walk together to our usual spot.
As I approach the table, I see Trina eyeing me. I consider going over to talk to her about Tori, but I really don't want to make her mad. I sigh and sit down, taking out my phone to check the slap. Today seems really backwards, Tori is missing, and Jade is actually worried about it. Maybe she did kill her, I chuckle to myself.
"What's so funny?" I hear Jade snap. Well at least she's trying to hide it, I guess.
"Just a dumb post on the snap" I mumble without looking up from my phone. I don't really feel like making eye contact with her.
She just shakes her head and sips her coffee. I wonder what she's so worried about. I'm almost tempted to ask her, but I know it will just give me whiplash.
After sometime of silence from her, I hear Jade speak up. "Cat, have you seen Trina today?"
Huh…that's weird, so I guess she's going to investigate. I can't help but give her a weird look, thankfully I am joined by the rest of the table. She ignores us.
"Uhm…yeah" Cat say's timidly. "The last time I saw her she was in the black box practicing a play, why?" Jade sneers.
"Oh, no reason, I need to talk to her about a few things that transpired a few days ago" What the hell does she mean by that?
I give her a weird look that she doesn't seem to notice. I'm going to have to look into this sometime soon, this is too weird. I watch her as she walks off, wondering if Trina is in trouble. After she leaves, I speak up to the table.
"Has anyone seen Tori today?" I murmur, looking around at everyone.
Everyone shakes their heads.
"Uh…maybe she's sick?" Cat speaks up.
Maybe she actually is sick…with something bad? That would suck. Maybe I will have to talk to Trina, I sigh.
"What's up Beck?" Cat looks at me curiously.
"I've got a weird feeling that it's something more than that" I mutter. "Jade is acting really weird and that might have something to do with it" I say looking at the rest of the table.
"Now that you mention it, she did seem pretty off" Cat says airily. "I'll talk to her after school"
"Good idea, let me know what she says?" I ask, and Cat nods.
What are you hiding Jade?
