The sixteen year olds Dazai and Chuuya were both on a mission when it happened, there was chaos all around them with enemies firing at them from all different directions. The brown haired alpha looked at his partner with a knowing cold look. Chuuya seeing the look sighed as it meant he had no choice but to follow his partner's plan. He hated when the brunette was right, shaking his head, he gave a slight nod in the other's direction. He slowly grabbed his wrist, rubbing the mark there before taking the black gloves off.

"Grantors of dark disgrace, you need not wake me again" Saying these worlds activated a red hue to surround his entire body with deep red and black lines that wrapped around his arms and face. Blue sapphire eyes turning into blank canvas with a cruel smile that could make anyone shudder in fear. He quickly tore through the enemies like they were mere ants just sitting there. Within a matter of moments no enemy was left standing, just the two alphas one of them throwing red orbs into the ground laughing that sounded borderline mad with blood dripping down his face. The other calmly walked behind the crazed sounding one gripping his arm, deactivating the others ability. What the brown haired male didn't expect was his wrist to burn where a soulmark laid, quickly letting go of the red haired alpha as if it burned to touch him. This caused the red head to collapse onto the floor wracked in pain but a soothing burn stood out the most. Lifting his arm to his face he looked at his wrist and stared in shock as he saw one side of the diamond fill in. He couldn't process what he was looking at as this meant that he had not one soulmate but two. He couldn't help but to think well shit.

Dazai grabbed his arm, holding it to his chest as he stared in shock as this couldn't possibly be true. He slowly turned his wrist to view it and he couldn't believe what he saw. His diamond was half filled but that couldn't be right at all. He could barely handle that he had one soulmate but his mark is telling him that he had two it just couldn't be possible. Not him, he was too far into the darkness to even deserve one let alone two. He quickly wiped his face of any emotion, turning to leave glancing over his shoulder to see that Chuuya had passed out with his wrist clutched to his chest. He pulled out his phone calling his boss Mori telling him the job was complete and to have the clean up crew come. After hanging up the phone he headed out into the quiet but eerie night silently slipping into the shadows.

About a week later Chuuya was getting fed up with Dazai's shit. That shity asshole had been avoiding him since their last mission that left them both in shock. The red haired alpha knew they both needed to talk about this and what they were going to do.

He could feel a headache coming on as when he tried to talk to the other alpha he would just brush him off. It got to the point where he had cornered him in an interrogation room where he blocked the door with a giant piece of cement that he carried with his ability.

"Why Chu~uya this is unexpected! If you wanted to get me alone that badly you should have just asked." He smirked as he knew exactly why the red haired male locked him in. He hasn't exactly been making it easy for the alpha always slipping away when he wanted to talk. He honestly thought Chuuya would attempt this soon as he knew that lost his temper quite easily. He kept his expression cold and blank as he stared at the red head.

"You bastard." Chuuya tried not to lose his temper as he heard the other tease him. His turned into an icy blue with so much rage glinting in them. He stared at the other as he took a deep breath to try and calm himself as he knew he needed to keep a calm mind frame to have this talk.

"You know we need to discuss this." Removing his glove off of one hand raising it showing off his half filled in soulmark. He knew that no matter who his soulmates were he would love them wholeheartedly as they were the reason he kept going on everyday. The thing about that though was he didn't want to eventually lose control of Arahabaki and hurt his soulmates. He had done a lot of thinking this past week trying to talk to Dazai, things about what he wanted to do with this information and what he was going to do about it. He knew that he would do anything for his soulmates including not being with them to keep them safe no matter how much it hurt him to do otherwise.

Cold, dark brown eyes stared at the soulmarked wrist in front of him trying to calculate what to do in this situation. This was the first time in a long time that he couldn't predict what the outcome would be. While he had been avoiding the other alpha he had been trying to wrap his head around the fact that he had two soulmates. Once he did he knew that he could never be with them as he only brings calamity around him and he will be damned if his soulmates get hurt because of him. Not just that but he knew he could break his soulmates with how cold, calculating and distant he was. He latched onto the thought of a soulmate when he was younger which got him through everyday when he first killed someone and when he started being in the mafia. Now though he knew that his soulmates didn't deserve him especially now that he knew Chuuya was one of them as he burned with a flame so bright that he just wanted it to snuff out.

"I don't think there is anything to talk about seeing as we both don't want anything to come of this." He watched as Chuuya flinched as if he hit the nail on the head. This both did not benefit them as they were part of the Port Mafia and executives at that.

"We both have reasons as to why we don't want this to affect anything. So let's just leave it at that."

"And what about our other soulmate asshole. That's not fair to them." Chuuya grimaced as he thought about their other soulmate.

"So we don't even know who that is. Why think about them now? They won't be affected as of right now. So why not just ignore our marks?" Dazai said with a lack of emotion that had a shudder run down Chuuya's spine.

"So just ignore that we are soulmates and ignore that we have another soulmate."

"Exactly. I don't see a reason why we can't."

"But what if we meet them then what?"

"Then we keep ignoring it. For the sake of our soulmate as we are both too deep in the mafia." The brunette could feel his heart clench at the thought of ignoring his soulmates but this needed to be done for both their sakes.

"Damn it. I hate when you are right and can read me so well. Fuck. We really have no choice do we?" Chuuya gripped his shirt right over where his heart was as he could feel it clench in pain. He knew that Dazai was right, this wasn't best for him and Dazai but was the best for their other soulmate. Damn it this hurt him but he would do this to protect his two soulmates.

"No we don't" Dazai replied softly as he knew this would be the best way to protect them no matter how much it hurt.

Silently they both agreed that this was the course of action they were taking. As days went by they both stuck to their decision but still grew closer as they had to protect each other. They never acknowledged their soulmarks even when asked they brushed it off. Both alpha still firmly believed this was for the best not knowing that decision was going to be their soulmate's downfall years later.

The Morning After The Party

Warm chocolate eyes opened to the morning's light shining in his eyes waking up from a memory that he could remember without hesitation. He could always clearly remember the conversation that he and Chuuya had in that room. A decision that both are now regretting knowing now that their soulmate was the omega known as Atsushi Nakajima. The sweetest, kindest, bright omega that had gone through 18 years of hell.

Dazai rolled onto his back bringing his arm up to his face staring at his uncovered wrist that was surrounded by scars. He traced the now filled in diamond with his other hand trying to convince himself that this didn't mean anything. That this was still the best choice for all three of them as it mattered even more now as to not break his omegan mate. Even though he knew he was on the side of the light he himself was still darker than pitch black. He slowly got up to start the day, wrapping fresh bandages around his body and arms, covering his soulmark up.

On the other side of town in an apartment located in Port Mafia territory sat a red haired alpha at a table with an unopened bottle of wine next to him. Ever since finding out who his third soulmate was he had tried to find every piece of information on him. Which led him to finding out the hell the omega went through in his 18 years of living but there was now information on what went on in his time in the orphanage. He sat there tracing his soulmark as he thought about how Atsushi smiled so brightly even though he had been through a lot. He couldn't understand how the other remained so pure after everything that happened in the past few months. How he had looked forward to living and always finding the good in everyone. He knew the decision he and Dazai made back when they were sixteen was for the best now more so than ever no matter how much it hurt. He also knew from now on he would try avoiding the omega as much as possible. He definitely didn't want to hurt the sweet omega. He would do anything to protect that even meant from himself. He slowly stood up, choosing not to drink the wine sitting on his table. He walked back to his rooming yawning as he hadn't been getting much sleep. His mind just kept racing with sporadic thoughts every time he tried to get some rest. He got ready for the day as he pushed the thoughts of his soulmates into the back of his mind.

Both alpha had then started to ignore the omega. Dazai didn't get up to his usual antics or teasing with Atsushi and Chuuya just ignored him other than to talk about missions they were on. They both affirmed that this was what needed to be done.

One week later

A week had gone by since Atsushi's encounter with his soulmates and neither had tried to talk to him. He didn't know what that meant but he had hoped they would be able to talk this out and see what to do. But as the days passed he realized that neither of them were going to talk about it. His thoughts spiraled out of control as he could help it. Was the headmaster truly right in saying his soulmates would never love him? Was it true that they just didn't care about him? He shook his head trying to get rid of such thoughts as they probably had a reason as to why they weren't talking to him. As they weren't talking to him Atsushi wasn't talking to them. He was too afraid to talk to them, his thoughts of the orphanage stopping him every time. He knew he didn't deserve his soulmates as he was someone who's own existence was worthless. He always had to rely on someone to save him or help him. But at the same time he wanted to be with his alphas as he had loved them even before knowing who they were. He loved them even more now that he knew it was Chuuya and Dazai. He wanted to feel worthy of his soulmate's love but he knew it would never come. He lost hope as more missions went by and his alphas ignoring him. Without realizing it he was being slowly consumed by his negative thoughts.

A couple weeks later he walked into the agency to see Ranpo already there and walked over to his best friend. He didn't know how he and Ranpo became friends but he was grateful towards the beta. Ranpo has been there when he needed it and it meant a lot. He could see Ranpo turned toward him as he walked over to the other's desk.

"Hey Atsushi!" The greatest detective exclaimed. He was trying to keep up his cheerful act as he could tell Atsushi had been in a slump since the party. He knew exactly why and it was one of the reasons he refused any missions that entailed either of the two alphas. He knew that they needed to get their act together or things would be turning ugly and not essentially for them but for the weretiger.

"Hey Ranpo. Did you get that new pastry from the cafe?"

"Of course! It was delicious!" Ranpo looked over Atsushi and knew he was falling further into a slump which was teetering on depression. He knew what Atsushi suffered in the orphanage and he could say that it disgusted him that the people there were so cruel to a child. He also knew the thoughts that Atsushi had because of what that place did, dangerous thoughts that could lead to breaking the omega.

"Say Atsushi, why don't you join Edgar and I for dinner? I know Poe misses hanging out with you." He and Edgar were a Beta/Omega soulmate pair, finding out after the battle with the Guild. They both were trying to help Atsushi through what his alphas were putting him through so they would invite him to dinner when they could. They were trying to prevent the weretiger from going into an omegan drop but Ranpo knew that what he and Edgar were doing wouldn't be enough. The silver haired male needed his alphas but the two seemed set in ignoring their soulmate.

"Sure. What will we be…" He heard Atsushi stop talking and turned his head to where the omega was looking. He glared at the two alphas that had walked in arguing about a mission they had to go on. He spared a glance at the omega, Atsushi's eyes were glazed over with so much hurt that it affected even him. He saw Atsushi make his way back to his desk and sit down trying to lose himself in paperwork. He turned back to glare at the alphas which caught the attention of both seeing both trying to keep a blank face. The beta knew what they were doing as he always knew, he wasn't the greatest detective for nothing.

As the day went on Ranpo could see the omega slipping more and more into an omegan drop. It hurt knowing he couldn't do anything to help his best friend from slipping. After a couple of hours watching his friend to make sure he was okay he pulled out his phone and texted one of Atsushi's alphas. After doing that he stopped by the president's office to let him know he was stepping out for a bit. He was going to get those damn alphas to finally talk to the omega without mentioning the drop. He wanted them to figure it out on their own that they were causing their omega pain. He walked to the alleyway he told Dazai to meet him as he entered he could see two alphas lean up against opposite walls. He summarized correctly that Dazai would bring Chuuya as he needed to talk to them both about this. This makes it easier as he didn't need to repeat himself now.
