Both alphas looked up at him as he got closer to them. He opened jewel green as he glared at both of them. They were really pissing him off with their nonchalant postures as if they weren't slowly killing their omega. He seriously didn't understand how two alphas could just ignore their mate especially to the kind hearted omega that looked for nothing but love and acceptance.
"What did you need to talk about Ranpo? That is quite the impressive glare you have. Did someone steal your sweets again?" Dazai smirked as he looked at the obviously pissed off beta. Ranpo's face didn't change, he will not let Dazai's teasing affect him.
"Are you both complete idiots? Because I think you are." Ranpo tried not to hiss out but it did not work he was just that pissed. He knew both of the alphas loved Atsushi but they sure had a shitty way to do it. So much so that it was slowly killing the omega. Chuuya started to fiercely glare at the beta he did not appreciate being insulted. The dark haired beta crossed his arms as he watched the red haired alpha step closer but was stopped by the brown haired alpha.
"We would appreciate it if you would just tell us what you need to so we can go finish our mission."
"Fine I will get straight to the point…..Are you both trying to kill your mate? If you are, shooting him in the head would be a kinder and a less painful way to go." He continued to glare at them when he saw them try to hide a flinch.
"What are you talking about Ranpo?" Both Dazai and Chuuya knew that their decision would hurt Atsushi but what did he mean they were killing him. Atsushi was fine the last time they checked on him secretly, yeah he seemed a little down but he was fine.
"I am talking about you two rejecting your mate and sending him into an omegan drop." Both of the alphas stared at the older male with blank expressions. Honestly the beta expected this as the two of them had grown up in the Port Mafia and he knew they didn't get much education in dynamics. Ranpo also knew that nothing he would say will get how serious this is into the alphas' heads. Sometimes he hated how stubborn alphas were and how much their pride got in the way. After confirming his theory on how everything was going to go he shook his head and sent a knowing look toward the two alphas. He and Edgar would just have to try their absolute best to hold off the worst of it so Atsushi's alphas can get their heads out of their asses.
"You both really are idiots. Whatever, just get your heads out of your asses soon or there will be dire consequences." He turns to leave with a look of disappointment painted on his face. He really didn't understand how people could just reject their soulmate or soulmates. There were soulmate bonds for a reason. He stopped at a pastry shop to buy some sweets for himself and Atsushi before heading back to the agency.
Chuuya and Dazai both watched Ranpo leave as they both had thoughts tumbling around in their minds. The brunette tried to figure out what the beta male meant when saying he and Chuuya were slowly killing Atsushi. Blue and brown eyes met as both looked at each other with broken expressions as they both realized that them ignoring Atsushi was obvious which meant Atsushi knew they were avoiding him like he was a plague. They both felt guilty but at the same time they were adamant in their decision and nothing would change that. Both alphas wiped their faces of emotion and headed out to finish their mission.
Atsushi was focusing on his paperwork as much as he could, his thoughts were slowly being consumed by his omega instincts. The omega in him kept telling him to do everything he could to get the attention of his mates. He had to make sure all of his work was perfect and every mission he went on was successful. As weeks went by he thoughts became more and more consumed by instinct. He slowly stopped eating and sleeping focusing more on getting paperwork done. Everyone at the Agency and even Akutagawa started to realize something was wrong with Atsushi as he would show up to work or missions with bags under his eyes. It came to the point that the only time he ate was when Ranpo dragged him to his apartment with Edgar. The beta and omega pair tried all the could to slow the process of the omegan drop but nothing seemed to help.
It seemed like not eating or sleeping for days was starting to catch up with the silver haired omega as his work quality seemed to decrease. Kunikida was starting to yell at him more about how he needed to do better which just caused Atsushi to slip further as it proved he wasn't doing enough. His thoughts were then completely devoured by his instinct after one nasty lecture from Kunikida that had Ranpo stepping in to stop the other beta from saying anything more. The next day after the lecture Atsushi came into work silently and went to his desk. He sat there staring blankly at his computer screen for hours before typing up a report that was nothing but gibberish. He could barely keep his eyes open as he stood up taking the report he just wrote to Kunikida. He swayed as he walked which caught Ranpo's attention. The beta tried to approach the omega gently as he didn't want to startle the silver haired male.
"Atsushi are you okay?" It seemed that Atsushi didn't hear him even though he was right next to him. Ranpo's eyes widened as he realized what was about to happen moving quickly as Atsushi's eyes rolled into the back of his head.
"ATSUSHI!" The beta yelled out as the younger male collapsed to the ground. Thankfully the beta caught him right before he collided with the hard flooring. The black haired male tried to get Atsushi to wake up by shaking his shoulder. Ranpo for once in his life hoped he was wrong as he didn't want his best friend to go through this or possibly end up dead. Everyone's heads whipped around when they heard the normally silent beta yell. They all rushed over asking Ranpo what happened and if the omega was alright. As everyone was circling around Atsushi and Ranpo, Kenji ran to get the president. Ranpo cursed as Atsushi wasn't waking up with anything he tried. It also didn't help that both of Atsushi's alphas were out on a mission until tomorrow morning. He wasn't going to give up trying to wake the sunset eyed omega up as he tried to see if scent marking would help.
Fukuzawa walked in behind Kenji looking at the commotion going on. He quickly and quietly walked up to where Ranpo and Atsushi were, putting a hand on the beta's shoulder. The green eyed male looked up to see the president hovering over him with concern shining in his eyes. The president had never really seen the beta so distraught over someone.
"Ranpo what is going on?"
"Atsushi…..he has officially entered an omegan drop. W-We need to call Yosano."
"Okay. Do you know where his soulmate is?"
"Dazai and Chuuya. They are his mates." Fukuzawa lifted an eyebrow in surprise as he did not expect the younger male to have two soulmates. That was a rare occurrence only 1 in 20,000 had two soulmates and the chance that there were more soulmates bonded was even lower. He nodded his head as he started giving out orders.
"Kunikida call Dazai and Chuuya tell them to come back from their mission now. Tanizaki call Yosano tell her to meet us at the hospital asap. This takes to priority over everything right now."
"Yes sir" Everyone hurried to complete their orders as Fukuzawa picked Atsushi up out of Ranpo's arms. He quickly brought the omega down to his car and laid him in the back. Ranpo climbed in the front turning to keep an eye on the pale omega. They arrived at the hospital about fifteen minutes later seeing Yosano standing outside the emergency entrance. The purple haired alpha took Atsushi straight to a private room to exam him and what she was quickly finding upset her greatly. She honestly had no idea how Atsushi managed to just collapse today, actually she did know. Atsushi was one of the most stubborn omegas she knew. As she got him situated the president and Ranpo walked in, she turned toward them with a troubled expression.
"He is in a coma. I am guessing that his mental state collapsed due to an omegan drop. Has his soulmate been notified? We could really use their help to get him through this." Ranpo glared at the wall across from him as he thought of who put Atsushi in this position in the first place.
"Both of his mates have been called and should be directed here once they meet up with Kunikida at the agency." The oldest alpha explained as he looked at Atsushi with a forlorn look in his eyes.
"I doubt they will be any help. They are the ones who put Atsushi into an omegan drop." Ranpo walked over to Atsushi grabbing his hand gently. He hoped that those dumbasses would finally get a reality check and actually be there for their mate but that is just hopeful thinking. He turned following the president out of the room to head back to the Agency to get some things done so Atsushi had time to recover if he ever wakes up.
When the president and Ranpo left with Atsushi, Kunikida pulled out his phone dialing the annoying bandage wasting dumbass. Waiting for Dazai to pick up he continued to write in his notebook about everything that just happened. Once the call connected and he heard a voice sing into his ear he felt his blood pressure rise. He sometimes couldn't stand his partner no matter how good he is at his job in the field.
"Oi Dazai! Shut up for a minute."
"Buuuut Ku~ni~ki~da~"
"Dazai." His tone was sharp and cold letting the alpha on the phone know he was calling about something serious and to stop his antics. Dazai stopped what he was doing, putting the phone on speaker so Chuuya could hear, both staying silent as they waited for the beta to continue.
"You and Chuuya are to come back to headquarters immediately. The mission has been postponed to a later date until someone else can take it over."
"Why would that be necessary Kunikida? Me and Chuuya are doing just fine taking care of things here." Dazai was somewhat confused, they have had no trouble with this mission so why was the president pulling them out now. The next thing that left the beta's mouth made both alphas freeze in place.
"Atsushi is in the hospital."
