"Sarah? Everything alright? " he answered on the second ring.

She wanders the yard her voice quiet. "Yeah, I don't have the kids parents numbers can you let them know they fell asleep and can just stay here for the night seems it's so late."

"Of course! About earlier…" he tries but she interrupts him.

"No biggie. Have fun, don't forget to notify the parents and be quiet when you come in."

She hangs up sending a quick text to Nikki seems it was obvious if the kids were here she was still out.

She replied with a thumbs up.

Nikki puts away her phone taking a drink of her coco watching Aizawa pet an older stripped cat that had jumped onto the table.

Both had several cats around and on them due to them being the only ones in the café. It was almost midnight so Nikki was just surprised it was open this late.

"Everything alright? " Aizawa questions observing the woman before him.

She hugs a black kitten close to her nodding. "Yeah, Sarah was letting me know the kids that were dog sitting fell asleep so told me to be quiet when I go back."

"Ah, is that so? What kids?" He sips on his coffee.

A kitten climbs into his scarf swatting at his hair playfully.

"Tamaki, Neijiro and Mirio. Sarah didn't want to leave her pup unattended, seems he is only a month old now."

He leans his head in his hand elbow on the table playing with the kitten in his scarf acting like his attention was elsewhere. "So you two seem very close. Are you sisters? Or perhaps lovers?"

Nikki gags. "Oh fuck no. I mean I like her but not in that way. We're friends, been friends for God knows how long but she says we're more like sisters than friends and I don't disagree. "

"I see. So what was your life like before coming here?"

Nikki shrugs. "Boring and stressful. I worked at a post office the past couple years, Sarah was in Healthcare and was getting ready to switch careers into metal working seems she's done it before and liked it."

The server comes and refills their drinks at that moment, once the server leaves he returns to questioning her as he didn't want any unforeseen surprises in the future."So you said this all was a show in your world? What made you interested in it and what will become of us?"

Nikki hesitates rubbing her neck. "I liked the animation and the plot but the heroes are what drew me in, also the students being little shits. Sarah and I plan to change some things to further along people in some ways but we can't change too much or like we said the future heroes won't have what it takes to be heroes later on. Sarah read the manga so she has a bit more info than I do about what the future holds but I know most characters better."

Aizawa nods, it made logical sense to not change things too much so that they knew what to expect and how to counter it better.

"Well we better get going the shop will be closing soon and I need to get you home, we do have training in the morning after all."

Nikki's eyes widened. She hadn't known about this and the fact he was training her meant her prospects would be wider and higher.

She follows his lead and stands setting the kitten she had been holding down and follows him out seems he had paid. She didn't want to leave the kitten but she would have to talk to Sarah about it first as the pup was a handful let alone a kitten to add on to everything.

When she walked in the door she waved at Aizawa who was watching from the gate before heading in and quietly shutting the door behind her. She could see the kids sprawled out on the couches under some blankets. As she walks towards her room she notices the light on in the kitchen but the french doors were shut.

Peering in she could see Sarah in her pajamas hair in a bun putting a muffin tin in the oven. There was already a load of sweets covering every inch of the kitchen. Blinking she starts reaching for the handle but when her friend turns she stops.

Sarah's eyes were red and puffy and her face was red like she had been crying. She had headphones in her ears.

Nikki watched her walk over and around her pup as she frosted and was just in a trance like state. There was even a mixture of Japanese sweets which surprised her albet not much as she had been practicing her skills with the culinary here.

Sighing she leaves her friend alone, this wasn't the first time she had found her like this. Granted it had been worse a while ago, she had slowly been getting better though unlike Nikki, Sarah hated change and the fact that her family meant so much to her it was worse than losing her own limb.

Nikki heads downstairs and gets ready for bed though she couldn't sleep just yet so she played on her phone for awhile.

FatGum walked into the house as quietly as he could wobbling a bit as Hawks had him drinking heavily.

He stumbles his way up stairs managing to not wake the kids on the couches but not the woman who had just laid down.

Sarah had her back to the door with her pup curled to her chest not bothering to open her eyes she already knew who it was. Feeling the bed sink as he sat next to her feet she could feel his eyes on her but refused to open them.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't meaning to upset you tonight. Honestly even though I've lived with you all this time I still feel like you are hiding things from me. Who loses so much and keeps smiling like nothing happened?" He mutters rubbing his face.

He didn't notice Nikki had heard him come home and wanted to see what had happened to trigger her friend into baking a goddamn kitchen full of junk. Not that she was complaining but she had seen the living room table was bowing from the weight of pasteris and the fact every inch of the counters was stacked with even more concerned her as she knew her friend only baked when she was stressed or depressed.

"So what did you do?" Nikki questions with enough venom in her voice to make the larger man jump and flinch.

"She found out I texted the others to keep an eye on her…" he mumbles not meeting her eyes. "But how can someone who loses so much not even cry?! She smiles and it's like nothing fazes her!"

Nikki shakes her head leaning on the door frame. "Dude that was dumb, that's a betrayal in her eyes. And if you want to see her cry, you never will. She never cries in front of people, she's only cried once in front of me in the past sixteen years. Her family taught her to never show weakness, it's why she hides it so well but if you actually paid attention you'd see the cracks."

Sarah's grip tightens from under her pillow unseen to the others at her friends words, she had been trying to hide it.

"Also did you not see the shit load of sweets she made tonight? How about all the shit she's made recently? The bird houses? The soap? The lotion? The paintings? Have you noticed she doesn't give herself a second to think or breathe? That's all her screaming silently in pain and if you don't see it or see how you hurt her you need to get the fuck out and not come back."

FatGum's mouth drops as he hadn't thought anything of any of that, he had seen it and had just assumed she was trying to make more money is all but now that Nikki had pointed it out he recalls the glimpses he had seen her staring blankly at a wall or clutching her chest as if in pain before seeing someone and playing it off as heartburn.

"I saw...I just didn't realize…"

"Or the fact she hasn't eaten a full meal since we came here? I like you gummy but you're being insensitive and hurting my friend and I won't allow that." Nikki warns crossing her arms feeling protective.

Sarah finally had enough of it and before either could react she had grabbed two pillows trowing them with her eyes shut. "Shut up I'm trying to sleep!"

Nikki throws the pillow back careful to not hit the pup, the pillow lands over Sarah's head who doesn't bother to move it. She didn't want to deal with FatGum at the moment.

Nikki turns and leaves while FatGum holds the pillow that had smacked him in the gut surprised it had so much force in the throw. "So you heard all that?"

Sarah groans as does Malik. "Yes, I'm a light sleeper. I knew the second you walked in the house, shut up and go to sleep already."

FatGum smiles a bit but knows she hadn't forgiven him just yet but the fact that she wasn't kicking him out meant something.
