"We've been just about everywhere in the city and we still haven't found him, he's 12 ft tall he can't be that hard to find and yet somehow he is. Maybe he has some sort of cloaking device, or maybe because we're looking too hard we can't see what's right in front of us. I mean he really could be under our noses and we still can't see him" Bridge was rambling and when the green ranger got started it was hard to get him to stop the flow of words coming from his mouth unless someone interjected. Walking through the heart of New Tech city the rangers where started to feel that Jaxalor wasn't going to be found today and this sent a wave of anger between the four ranger and it was starting to show the cracks that each ranger had within themselves.
Bridges rambling was normally stopped by Syd, making her words sound so nice as she got him to stop running on his words and getting to his point. Hearing his own words in his ears Bridge stopped himself from drowning in his own logic and starting looking for any sign of the orange monster. Crouching down Bridge took off one of his gloves and pressed his fingers against his temple, scanning the area for any sight of the criminal. Slight frown lines appeared on his brow line as he looked though out his mind and the surrounding area.
Having all stopped for Bridge to carry out his work, the Jack, Z and Sky stood around all looking at the people of the city as they went about their days, some people with an agenda others while other just taking their time. It was worrying that if something happened in the city the Power Rangers were a ranger down and were starting to face battles of their own without the heart of the team there to pull them all together again.
"We're getting nowhere fast and we don't know if Syd is going to wake up on her own, each day that passes only diminishes our hope, we don't even know if Jaxalor has the crystal anymore" Looking up at the sky scrapers that enclosed the city Z help her hand up to block the sun from her eyes she gently turned herself on her heels before she looked down at Bridge as he stood up and shook his head.
"Z's right, we could be walking around for hours and not get anywhere, I think it's time we go back to base and pick up the squad car and the jeep, we can cover more ground that way" Pulling his uniform jacket down Bridge shrugged his shoulders as he was getting tired of walking all the back alleys and coming up empty handed.
"We'll split up, Z and Bridge, you go back at the jeep, Sky and I will take the car" With emotions running high and cracks starting to show having pared himself with Sky was a risky move but one the Red ranger had called on. Seeing the look of slight shock on Sky's face, Jack looked stern, imaging a look that Sky had worn many times before. "I'm Red ranger and that an order!" Jack had snapped. The hot headed ranger barked as the team split apart at Jack's sudden outburst, it was clear now just how important Syd really was to this team, if she didn't wake up or they couldn't help her, there was more at risk then just S.P.D. New Tech City was in danger.
"Because last time we followed YOUR plan it worked out so well" Sky wasn't going to just take orders from Jack this time, tension had been high between them for the last few weeks and this was the final straw for the blue ranger.
"I said that's AN ORDER!" The two men now faced each other just about ready to start throwing punches, anger bubbling up between them both. "YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT WANTS TO HELP SYD, SKY!" Jack stepped in so there was now only a foot between them, his jaw tight as he was just about ready to put the blue ranger back in his place as he felt two hands on his shoulders.
"Guys! STOP IT! " Z pulled against Jack's shoulder as she tried to pull her 'brother' back from doing something he would later regret, Bridge stepping in and repeating the action with his roommate, breaking up the fright before it could become physical. Shaking the green rangers hands off his shoulders Sky stared down his fellow ranger turning his shoulder angrily as he started to walk away back towards the S.P.D Delta Base.
"Change of plan, I'll go with Sky and Z goes with you" Taking charge for a moment Bridge looked between the other men, he could feel the anger that was surrounding both of them and he knew that the two of them pared together would only lead to disaster within the team.
Shutting the door to the squad car's driver side door Sky had at least calmed down now that he had Jack had been separated for the meantime, bringing the seatbelt across his body the blue ranger caught the eyes of the green ranger who had been observing him.
Bridge wanted to say that both men were acting irrationally but that would only anger the blue ranger even if it was true but there was another factor in this mission, emotion. "I know how you're feeling about all of the Sky but hitting Jack wouldn't chance the fact even if it did make you feel better. Syd wouldn't want you to do that and if you love her enough you'll know that anger is the answer" Being the voice of reason Bridge spoke with the knowledge and wisdom that his words were true, Syd was like a sister to him and he knew that as much as she could get angry but she knew that taking anger out on a teammate would only create more problems than solve them. Hearing a small huff of agreement from Sky, Bridge smiled only a little as he turned his eyes back to the front as he had a feeling that he had gotten his point across his stubborn friend.
Seeing Jack and Z heading towards the black and white jeep, Sky started the engine of the sedan and pulled out of the garage that held all the vehicles that belonged to the base. They were going to work together but split up at the same time, working streets parallel to each other to cover the ground. Even C squad had been given jobs to help find Jaxalor or anything that could lead to him.
Looking at the tracking device on the Crystal Deferrer Device, Morgana frowned as it had once been moving with Jaxalor and it showed but now it was stationery and at a place that she knew and had visited when she had been on earth. It took her only a minute for her to see that they no longer had control over the middle man of the crime and this was bad news for them. She would have to be the one to tell Grumm and that wasn't exactly going to be the news that the emperor wanted to hear. Walking out of her room Morgana felt very much at home in the troobian ship, it was darkly decorated and that was something she liked; entering the throne room she stood watching the back of the chair rock slightly as she knew that Grumm already knew of her being in the room.
"It would seem that Jaxalor has gotten rid of the C.D.D and the crystal" Watching as the rocking of the chair stopped Morgana waited for the yelling to start, something Grumm did every time something did not go his way. This time it never came, instead the chair slowly spun around to show the emperor seated rather calmly against his chair.
"Then you are just going to have to go and get it yourself. You found Jaxalor, you fix his problem" Hearing the darkness in his voice Morgana knew nodded as it was eerie to see him like this when normally he was tempered. "If I were you I would leave now before I change my mind and vaporise you" Stepping back as the emperor seemed calm but his eyes hard started glowing a bright and powerful red.
If she failed at this task there would no doubt be consequences and she didn't want to be on the receiving end of the punishment that would be dished out. Going back to her room Morgana got herself ready for the trip to earth, knowing that this time she couldn't mess up.
"Whatever this problem is that you and Sky are having you both need to get over it" In the passenger seat was Z, having relinquished her spot as driver to Jack this time hoping that the task of driving would keep his mind off his anger towards the blue ranger and just listen to what she had to say.
"I already know what is problem is, I got red ranger, I out rank him and he can't stand it" Jack lifted his shoulders tall as he turned into the mirrored street away the way Sky had turned. Looking around as he drove Jack glanced at his 'street sister' for half a second before he went back to the road.
"Maybe you've got to see it from his side, he's been training for years to be red ranger, okay Sky can be a jerk at time I'm the first to admit it but how would you like it if something that was your goal in life was taken from you by someone who hadn't been though the training he had been though. Did you ever think about that?" Z held onto the roll bar of the jeep as the turned a corner, her hair blowing in the wind as they drove along the road. "Also think of the fact that Sky lost his father in the line of duty and now he might have lost Syd" Turning her head away so Jack hopefully wouldn't see her wipe a tear from eye away, sniffing to keep herself from breaking form.
Jack was still on the fact of red ranger when Z's words suddenly sank into his mind, she was right. He hadn't really thought of the fact that Sky might be scared of losing someone else in the same way he had lost his hero. Coming to a stop at a red light Jack fanned his fingers over his dreads, pushing a few of them back as he nodded, agreeing with Z and seeing it from the other side. "I get it"
Walking between the tables of chairs Morgana smiled as she held the skirt of her dress up slightly she knew by the noises inside that the person she was after was in. Raising her hand to knock at the metal door she stepped back as the door suddenly swung open as Piggy stumbled out slightly.
"Ah, Morgana was a lovely surprise, what brings you to my humble abode?" Slowing his arm in gesture the pig creature gulped slightly as he knew that this couldn't be good.
"It seems that you have come into the possession of something that belongs to me" Her voice was sweet, like a child before it suddenly changed with anger. "AND I WANT IT BACK!" pushing her way into the caravan she looked sweetly once again as on the table lay the C.D.D and the Slumbhyx crystal just waiting for her. "Now you see Piggy where sticky fingers get you?" Swinging her arm back Morgana made contact with Piggy, sending him to the other side of the van and knocking him out as he landed against the kitchenette. Placing it inside a safety box Morgana frowned as she heard a noise coming from outside, tucking the box away she swung open the door, it would seem luck was on her side today as she found just the monster she was looking for. "Well, well, well. It must be my lucky day, I found the crystal and I find you. I would have though you would know better than to lose something, given that your main crime was thieving" Smiling as Jaxalor looked like a deer caught in headlights as she stepped out and into the open space.
"Morgana, I, I" Stammering a little as it came to him mind who was really behind it all, Jaxlaor knew that he had been set up, just the toy to be played with.
"You what? Think that I'm going to let you get away" Holding up her hand in front of her face, a brightly glowing ball seemed to appear in her palm.
As the light turned green Jack turned the jeep around heading down a street that he wasn't planning to go down but something was telling him that they needed to pay their 'friend' Piggy a second visit for the day, it had been bugging him just how Piggy knew everyone and yet he didn't know that Jaxalor was out of prison?
"Hey where do you think you're going?" Not expecting the turn she had almost slid into Jack as the jeep moved off, she had a feeling that this was only going to make Sky even madder at the Red ranger but Jack had a look in his eyes that showed this time he was going with his gut on this and she wasn't going interject this time.
Hopping out of the jeep Z looked over at Jack as he shut the door. "Tell me again why we're back here?"
Z's question was suddenly taken from her mind as they rounded the corner to see Morgana vaporing Jaxalor in a cloud of light.
"Alright Morgana hold it right there!" Z was in no mood to come face to face with her again, at least this time she had Jack with her to help.
"Well if it isn't the mighty Power Rangers. Ohh I'm so scared" Giggling as she stepped over the area where Jaxalor had once been, the wicked woman smirked as she stepped closer to the rangers in fighting stance but that smirk was soon taken from her as from behind her one of Z's doubles had formed and had sent her boot into the back of the woman in black sending her forward and onto the ground.
Snarling her lip as she pushed herself up Morgana chanced from her dress to her power suit. "So you want to play dirty huh rangers, well two can play that game" Stepping forward as to entice the rangers Jack and Z watched in horror as from behind her back Morgana pulled out the clear safey box that contained the crystal and held it in front of her. "Looking for this?"
