AN: So here is chapter 29. I planned on uploading this chapter sometime tomorrow but decided to go ahead and do it now. And in more news I am planning on uploading chapter 30 sometime next week as I will not be any place with internet next weekend. Going to the Renaissance Festival with my husband and a few friends. Hopefully I'll have more written by the weekend after that because I'm still writing chapter 31. So wish me luck on writing and enjoy.

Chapter 29

About fifteen minutes after Adrian and Lori made their way downstairs everyone heard a loud commotion going on. "Open up! It's Hershal! Carl!" they heard Rick scream. Carl quickly ran over to the gate and unlocked it. As soon as he swung the door open, Rick, Glenn, and Maggie came running in with a passed out and badly bleeding Hershal who was now missing his lower right leg.

Adrian's eyes were wide with horror and panic. She seen T-Dog close the gate but she hadn't seen Daryl. "Daryl!" she screamed looking towards the gate so quickly that her hair actually hurt her face, she spun so quickly. "I'm fine." he hollered from the other side of the gate. Running over to the still unlocked door, she seen Daryl reloading his crossbow.

Adrian tore through the door so quickly that one would think that her feet were on fire. The first thing she did when she got to him was kiss him and let every fear she felt into that kiss.

"Oh my god, are you okay baby?" she franticly asked as she began to quickly run her hands along his face, neck, and arms. "I'm fine. Get back in there." he said as he pointed his crossbow at the still open door.

Adrian heard footsteps from the dark doorway and quickly drew her knives. She had her gun strapped to her thigh as always but had left her bow in the cell block in her hurry to get to Daryl.

A few seconds later a group of five men, prisoners from the look of their jumpsuits, came out of the door. There were three black men, one tall, bald and muscular looking. One tall, on the large side, with a beard. And a short one. There was a short white guy with shaggy blonde hair and a mustache and short beard. The last one was medium height Mexican, with long black hair, a small mustache and goatee, and from the look of his arms, a muscular body.

Adrian prided herself on being able to tell if a person was dangerous or not just by looking at them and two of the five were definitely dangerous. The small black man was certainly dangerous. But the Mexican was almost as dangerous as they came. She could tell from the way he held himself. The gun he had tucked at his waist didn't help.

She watched as they all took in their surroundings. What she didn't like was the way he stripped her with his eyes while he looked her up and down. When he got to her face, she glared hard at him, tightened her grip on her knives, and silently damned him to hell.

"Cell block C. Cell four. That's mine, gringo. Let me in." he said taking a few steps forward.

"Like hell we are! Go crawl back under whatever rock you slithered out of." Adrian said immediently. "Adrian." Daryl warned. She firmly pressed her lips together and tried to stay quiet.

"It's yer lucky day, fellas. You been pardoned by the state a Georgia. You're free ta go." Daryl said, keeping his weapon aimed. "What you got goin' on in there?" he asked. "None a your damn business, now get!" she growled back.

"Woman!" Daryl growled at her quietly. The man then drew his gun but kept it pointed at the ground, which was the only reason she still held both of her knives.

"Chill man. Dude's leg is missin'. Besides we're free now. Why we still in here." the large black man said. "Friend's got a point." Daryl said pushing off of the table he had his leg propped on.

"Group of people breaking into a prison they ain't got no business breaking into, makes me think we ain't got no place to go." he said irritated. "Why don't you go find out?" Daryl challenged. "We'll just be leavin' now." said the blonde man. "We ain't goin' nowhere." the man said angrily.

"Well you ain't comin' in either." T-Dog said coming out of hiding, pointing his gun at the man. Hearing T-Dog, the man pointed his gun at him. Adrian was three seconds from throwing her hunting knife when she heard Daryl's voice. "Easy. Not yet." he said softly to her, without looking in her direction.

"Hey this is my house, my rules, I can go where I damn well please." he said to them. "Over my dead body are you getting into the fucking cell block, you cocksucker!" Adrian said angrily at him.

"And I promise you, I can take you out faster than you can me." she said. She could hear Daryl's displeasure and annoyance with her. Which was saying something since she was just looking at his back.

A minute later Adrian heard the door squeak open and turned to see Rick running in. "Hey hey hey! Everybody just calm down." Rick said. Adrian almost made a comment at that but knew to keep her mouth shut. She was already in enough trouble with Daryl.

Adrian tuned out most of what was said next now that Rick was taking charge of the situation. She knew that they were explaining what had happened by the looks on their faces. "Ain't no way." the guy said. "See for yourself." Rick said pointing towards the door. "Field trip time boys." Adrian said to the prisoners as the started walking out.

Daryl was walking behind her and could feel his anger at her coming off in waves. "We're gonna have ourselves a talk later. Might even beat your ass while I'm at it." Daryl growled at her. She was in for it when he got her alone later.

Once they got out into the yard, some of the prisoners were in awe of the dead bodies laying around. Others in denial. Adrian had sheathed her knives and had grabbed her guns. Once outside though, even though she had a weapon, she was no farther than a foot from his side.

Adrian had done good on keeping attention away from herself. Until she heard that the guy said that they would help them move their gear out of the cell block. Adrian took a step and opened her mouth to say something. But then she felt Daryl's right arm stop her.

He reached out, his arm going from the side of her chest, down her stomach, and his hand rested on her right thigh. When she looked up at his, she slowly closed her mouth but stayed where she was. She then snaked her arm under his and curled it over his shoulder and gave him a light squeeze to let him know that she understood.

Daryl was beyond pissed at her, for not only not listening to him when he told her to go back inside the safety of the cell block, but also because she kept drawing attention to herself when the Mexican would say something she didn't like.

It didn't help his temper any that he had seen how a few of the men had looked at her when they had walked through the door.

He wouldn't admit it to her because he was so pissed at her, but he was glad for her touch at the moment. Not only because he could help control that mouth of hers, but also because she was close and he knew from the way they were standing and touching that the other men would know that she was his.

"So we're gonna help those piss ants? I don't want those two living the next cell block over." Adrian said to Daryl while the prisoners led them back to where they were being held.

"For half of whatever food they got left. And what you mean those two? There are five of 'em." Daryl said, walking behind her. "The small black guy and the Mexican with a gun. They're dangerous Daryl. Not the kind of people we want living next to us. Especially with the baby due any day now." she said, keeping her eyes ahead of her.

"They're all dangerous Adrian. All of 'em." he said to her. "Not the other three. I can spot a dangerous person. It's what kept me alive before I joined the group. And I've never been wrong on the difference between a dangerous person and a safe one. The other three are harmless in my book. They were the only three not to challenge anything Rick said." she said, actually having a point, much to Daryl's dismay.

They got to the cafeteria and walked into the pantry. When Adrian got her first look inside she starred in open mouthed amazement for the second time that day. "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph." she said looking at all the food.

"This is more than we've seen since the farm." she said looking at Daryl as he pasted by. Adrian was so focused on the food that she didn't notice Rick open the meat locker until the smell hit her.

As soon as the smell hit her she started to gag, drawing Daryl's attention to her quickly. "He wanted to know." the Mexican said. Noticing Daryl was still looking at her she put him at ease. "I'm okay, baby. Just wasn't expected to get assaulted by a smell worse than death." she told him. He nodded and went back to inspecting the food.

Soon they were all packing out large quantities of large food back to the cell block. Daryl noticed that the Mexican kept starring at her ass and occasionally her chest.

"Keep your fuckin' eyes off her." Daryl growled at him. "Or what? What's she to you?" he challenged Daryl. "She's mine. And if you don't keep your eyes off of her, I'll shoot you in the face." Daryl said pointing his crossbow at him.

"Who knows, maybe she's tired of your ass. She might welcome the change." he said grinning.

"If you so much as touch me, you nasty fucker, I'll cut your dick off and feed it to you as your last meal before I throw you outside these walls for fucking walker bait. Wouldn't be the first I've done it to." she said as she unexpectedly walked back into the cafeteria.

Daryl looked at her to see if she was just bluffing or being serious. To his shock, he couldn't tell. He could normally read her like an open books these days.

"Come on. Rick has their weapons ready. And just remember ass hat, I don't need my mans' protection to deal with you." she said pointing at him. Adrian was already in trouble with Daryl, not much that she could do to make it worse, which was why she had talked.

"Why do I need this, when I have this?" the Mexican asked holding out the weapon chosen for him and then his gun. "Look around moron. Do you seen the weapons we're holding? Knives, crossbow, fire poker. There's a reason for that." she said rolling her eyes at his stupidity.

"You dont' use guns. Not unless your back is against the wall. Noise attracts 'em." Daryl added. "Alright. Go in, two by two. Daryl, you take point with T. I'll bring up the rear with you." Rick said pointing at the short black guy. "Adrian, you're with me in the rear." Rick said looking at her. Adrian nodded but said nothing.

"Aim for the head boys. Only way these fuckers die." She said, just to help the stupid morons out. They slowly made their way down a dark hallway. "They're coming!" she heard the blonde panic.

"SHHH!" they all told him. A second later a few walkers stumbled their way into the end of the hallway. Adrian seen Daryl holding up his fingers to let them know when to go when all of a sudden they all started to holler and run forward.

Two of the black guys had one walker on the floor, kicking it and beat it's body with a bat. The other black guy was holding one from behind while the blonde pulled something from his sock and start to stab it.

"What are they doing?" Adrian asked, confused. "I think they're tryin' to kill them." T-Dog answered her. She then looked at the three men by her side. "No, seriously, what are they doing?" she asked again.

"Alright fucktards. Lets go. You've done made a big enough mess here." she said drawing their attention. They walked down the hallway more when they heard more walkers coming. "Stay in tight formation. No more of that prison riot crap." Rick said as the prisoners started to kill the walkers quickly.

Adrian was paying more attention to the action in front of her, she didn't see what was going on behind her until she heard one of the prisoners yell out from behind her. Rick ran up beside her and killed one walker but there was still another one.

That was when she heard three loud shots go off right next to her ear. Adrian quickly jerked her head to the right and put her hand over her already ringing ear. Everyone looked at the fool, shocked that he had fired his gun after being told not to. Adrian checked her hand for any sign of blood and then glared over at the stupid man.

Adrian then glared at the fucker and punched him square in the jaw. "Are you fucking insane?!" she growled at him as he turned back to glare at her. Daryl walked up to her right then. "Not only could have blown my fucking hearing to hell, but you just rang the fucking dinner bell for any walkers in these damn walls!" she said trying to get in his face but was being held back by Daryl.

"Come here. Let me see." Daryl said pulling her back a few feet. Daryl moved her hair out of the way by gathering it up and putting it all over her right shoulder. There was no damage that he could see but he knew that her head had to be ringing.

"How's your hearin' in this ear?" he asked her in a low voice. "Like a church bell and white noise had a baby that won't shut up." she said looking over at him.

"I told you. He's dangerous. He could have shot me and he wouldn't have even cared." she whispered to him.

"Just stay close to one of us. You could get bit with half your hearin' gone." Daryl said as he pulled her to stand in between him and T-Dog. With Adrian's good ear she could hear them tell the large black man, who went by Big Tiny, that he had been infected and that there was nothing they could do to save him.

A second later the guy with the gun hit Big Tiny in the back of the head with his double head crowbar. Big Tiny dropped like a rock. The guy looked at his crowbar for a second and then started to beat Big Tiny's head in, spraying blood everywhere. "The fuck." Daryl said quietly as he quickly pulled Adrian behind him but kept his hand on her hip to make sure she didn't move from that spot until he said otherwise. "You were right. He's extremely dangerous." Daryl said quietly to her.

They were walking down another hallway when Adrian heard Daryl and Rick in front of her. "You see the look on his face?" Daryl asked Rick. "He makes one move.." Rick said.

"Just give me a signal." Daryl told Rick before he pulled back to walk beside Adrian. "You stick behind us. Whatever we find in here, you stay as far away from it as you can. I don't trust you not to get hurt with your head ringin' like that." Daryl told her as they heard T-Dog open a door.

Normally she would have protested the command but she understood his worry and she agreed with him. If it were anybody else, she would have made the same decision. They walked into an empty laundry room with a large green door on the other side.

Daryl moved Adrian behind the clothing cages by the door that T-Dog had just closed. Adrian knew it wasn't the time but she gave him a quick kiss before he moved away to throw his keys to the dickhead who had fired his gun next to her ear.

Rick then told him to open only one of the doors so they could control the flow of walkers into the room. Then the cocky fucker put them all at risk by yanking both doors open and letting in a large group of walkers.

Rick was fighting right beside the guy with the gun when the guy swung his weapon so hard he barely missed Rick's face. "Rick." Adrian said grabbing onto the cage in front of her in worry.

A second later the guy grabbed a walker and then threw it at Rick, causing Rick to fall to the floor with a live walker on top of him. "Rick!" she yelled before she started towards him to help. Then she seen Daryl run over and stab the walker in the head. "You stay over there." Daryl said looking at her as he helped Rick up from the floor.

She seen the look Daryl and Rick shared and couldn't have agreed more.

Once all of the walkers were dead Daryl stood in front of her, to Rick's back, while Rick faced off with the Mexican guy. "Yeah. Yeah I get it. Shit happens." Rick said to him. The smirk slowly slid from the guys face.

And then Rick slammed his blade into the top of his head. When the guy fell to his knees, Rick kicked him off of his knife. Then the short black guy went after Rick with his baseball bat but Rick kicked him in the back of his knees, making him fall backwards.

He looked at Rick for a second and then got up and scrambled into the dark hallways behind him. "I got him." Rick said as he charged after the prisoner. Daryl had his crossbow pointed at the tall black man.

"On your knees. Now." Daryl said to him. The black man looked at him and slowly went down onto his knees as he put his ax down without being told. T-Dog had the blonde guy on the floor at gunpoint on the other side of the room.

"Hey we didn't have anything to do with what just happened." the blonde said. "Tell 'em, Oscar." he said to the black man.

"Is that really necessary? They haven't come after us in any way. Just take their weapons." Adrian said to Daryl and T-Dog coming out from behind her forced hiding place.

"Not now Adrian. Just stay back." Daryl told her as she went for Oscar's ax.

A few minutes later Rick came in looking like the devil himself and just as angry. Rick took his guy out and pointed it to Oscar's head. "You didn't know about any of that? You knew." Rick said just getting angrier.

"Rick." Adrian said to him. "Be quiet. Now." Daryl said to her now remembering why he was angry with her in the first place, but now angry for a whole new reason.

Rick then swung over to where the blonde guy was kneeling. "Please, sir, we're not like them. They were the bad guys, not us." he said, sounding on the verge of crying.

"Convinent." Rick said still pointing the gun at him. "Rick." Adrian said again. "I said be quiet." Daryl growled at her. "You saw what he did to Tiny. Tiny was my friend." the blonde said looking like he was fixing to cry.

"Please sir. I like my pharmaceuticals and Oscar there is a thief and he ain't very good at it neither. Please sir we ain't like them." he said flat out crying now. "Rick." Adrian called out again. This time Daryl glared over at her while holding his hunting knife to Oscar's throat. Rick then swung his gun over to Oscar and pointed it in his face.

"What about you?" Rick asked him. "I ain't never pleaded for my life. And I ain't about to start now." Oscar said to him.

Adrian then gave a large sigh and glared at the man ignoring her.

"RICK!" she hollered in the quiet room, knowing she was heard that time. Rick looked over at her but kept his gun trained on Oscar's face. "A word if you please, oh fearless dictator." Adrian finally said to him once she had his attention.

Rick pulled his gun back from Oscar's face and walked over to Adrian. "What?" he said, clearly angry. "There's no need to kill them. Sure your pissed off because that dick tried to kill you, twice, but that's no reason to take it out on these guys. They're harmless to us. They hold no threat to us. Give them the cell block, like agreed. You may have made a deal with jackass but it went for all of them and they know that." she said to him in a low voice.

When Rick looked back over to them she seen that she wasn't really getting through to him like that. "This is just like the farm. Killing people because we don't know what to do with them. You didn't think it was right then, how is now any different. And it is a different situation because Randall tried to kill you, shot at you, Hershal, and Glenn. These guys, they haven't raised a hand or spoken out against us in any way. In my opinion, they are not a threat to us. They're less harmful than Randall ever was. Think about it Rick." she said, for once pleading him with her eyes to listen to her.

"We'll take them to the cell block. Like we agreed." Rick said, turning to look at the others in the room. Oscar and the blonde were told to start towards the cell block, the rest of them following close behind.

Daryl unlocked the door that lead into their cell block and walked in first. Rick was behind him with th prisoners. T-Dog and Adrian stayed outside the cell block looking in through the bars.

Prisoners were all lined up, hands ziptied behind their backs, and were shot execution style. Adrian focused on Daryl, not really caring what was said at that point.

Rick and then Daryl walked out of the cell block and started back towards theirs. Adrian started to follow. "Word of advise." she heard T-Dog tell them. "Take those bodies outside and burn them." he said as he pushed off the bars and followed after the rest of them.
