Disclaimer: All of Percy Jackson belongs to *cue the drumroll and dramatic music* Rick Riordan! Not me. A/N: Hey guys and girls. I had some writers block during the process of writing this chapter, so that's the reason for the late update. Sorry about that. To all theater people: I hope I did the audition justice. I do know that they probably wouldn't have everyone come back to see if they got the part, but I needed a way to show everybody who plays who. Also, I've been super impressed by the response my story has received. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who read my story! Book recommendation of the day: Harry Potter. Best book series ever. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Annabeth Third Person POV:

Annabeth parked her car by the front of the theater. She checked the time: 2:00. The email had said to be there at 2:30, but Annabeth wanted to be early, and possibly see the casting list before everyone else. If she didn't get the part, at least it was easier to find that out without everybody watching.

Annabeth walked up to the front door and tried to open it. Locked. Annabeth sighed. She was on her way to head back to her car to wait when she saw Chiron inside the building. He was rolling into the lobby when he noticed her in front of the building. He came over and opened the door.

"Ah, , I'm afraid the casting list is not posted until 2:30. You still have a while to wait. Do you have a question or…?" Chiron asked.

"No, I don't have a question. I was just kind of hoping to get here early. Maybe get an earlier look at that casting list before everyone else comes," Annabeth answered nervously.

"Yes, of course, that's quite all right. Now, would you like to come in?"

"Oh, well, um, I suppose I might," Annabeth responded, taken off guard by the offer.

Annabeth walked in apprehensively. She looked around the lobby. Even though she had been here before, usually she wasn't invited back to a theater after an audition, so it felt strange.

Annabeth sat down on one of the chairs and waited with Chiron in an awkward silence.

"Oh, Annabeth, would you mind if you come talk to Lester if he comes? I'm afraid I have quite a lot to do, and he should be here soon. You can just tell him that I'm in the costume room," Chiron asked.

"Oh, yeah, sure," Annabeth answered.

"Thank you, Annabeth. And now, I must go," Chiron said, and walked out of the room. As he walked away, he accidentally dropped a letter that Annabeth hadn't noticed before.

"Oh, , you dropped…" Annabeth's voice trailed off; he clearly hadn't heard her. Annabeth moved forward to pick up the letter, and she put it on the table by the chair. Annabeth sat on the couch furthest from the table, and tried very hard not to look at it. Still, her thoughts -and her eyes- kept drifting toward that white envelope of unknown. Annabeth couldn't help staring at it, wondering who it was from, and why it was so important that he hadn't simply just filed it away, and stopped paying attention to it. Finally, Annabeth gave up, and walked over to the letter. Thankfully, it was already open, so all she had to do was slip it out of it's envelope. Annabeth didn't pay attention to who it was from, she stared at one sentence that stood out to her. That sentence was:

Would you like to come to the White House to perform as part of an Evening of Poetry, Music, and the Spoken Word?

Oh my god. Oh. My. God. The Hamilton cast is being invited to perform at the White House! In front of the president! Annabeth thought, Now all I have to do to get there is actually get casted. Annabeth sighed, and checked her watch. 2:15. Great. Now she had to wait for another 15 minutes before she would find out whether she would accomplish her dream, or go back to her usual dreary life of audition after audition after audition.

Annabeth heard a knock on the door, and went to open it. That's probably , Annabeth thought.

Annabeth opened the door, and looked for who had knocked. There was nobody there. Strange. Annabeth looked around. Still no one. Suddenly, she heard footsteps, and turned around to see who it was. She gave a little start once she saw who it was: Percy Jackson.

"Ha, I scared you," Percy gloated, with that annoying grin of his.

"No, you didn't," Annabeth answered firmly. Actually, she had been a little startled, but she wasn't about to tell Percy that.

"You were totally scared. What are you even doing here?" He asked.

"I came early for the cast list. The real question is what are you doing here?"

"Same as you,"

"Interesting. Perhaps you're not as much of a seaweed brain as I thought," Annabeth replied.

"Well, I might not be a seaweed brain, but you are still a ummm… uhhhh," Percy struggled to come up with a sufficiently insulting nickname, "you're a... wise girl?"

"And don't you ever forget it, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth responded defiantly.

"Right, now that we've clarified that much, can I come in?" He asked.

"I suppose I might let you in," Annabeth said haughtily.

"And this is your decision because you own the theater," Percy said, pushing past her, and going inside.

"Of course I do," Annabeth answered sarcastically.

"Yes, because you're the world famous actor nobody's ever heard of," Percy quipped. He walked over to the couch and sat down.

Annabeth sat down, and leaned closer, looking like she was about to tell him a secret. Percy leaned closer as well, with a more serious expression that he'd had all that morning, which wasn't saying much.

"And here I was thinking I'd done such a good job keeping it a secret," Annabeth whispered. Percy remained silent for a moment, looking into her eyes. She kept a completely straight face, but her eyes were dancing with mirth. Suddenly, Percy burst out laughing, and they laughed together for a good five minutes before they calmed down.

"Oh, I have my ways of uncovering secrets, Wise Girl," Percy said.

"You're an idiot, you know that?" Annabeth commented.

Suddenly, they heard a knock on the door.

"That's probably ," Annabeth told Percy, standing up, " told me he would come by." They walked over to the door and opened it.

"What are you doing here?" asked in a way that wasn't rude, but not necessarily friendly.

"Chiron let me in," Annabeth responded. She was a little nervous, (who wouldn't be?) but she was given permission to be here. She had a right to be here and to be saying this to who she was saying it to.

"Oh did he? That actually sounds like something he would do. Do you know where he is?" asked.

"Yeah, Chiron said he'd be in the costume room," Annabeth informed . He waved goodbye, and walked away to what was presumably the costume room.

Annabeth checked her watch and realized that there were five minutes left.

"Percy, five minutes," Annabeth said, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"What? Five minutes to what?" Percy asked, confused.

"Five minutes until the cast list is posted!" Annabeth responded, almost shouting.

They sat down on the couch to wait, staring at their watches, looking for and occasionally staring at each other. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Percy Third Person POV

Percy thought about Annabeth. She had seemed so annoying before, but now, she was actually not as bad as he'd originally thought. She was still pretty annoying, making those overly dramatic, self-entitled comments. But hey, at least she was tolerable, and someone he might not be so miserable working with. Thinking about all this reminded Annabeth of the way she'd acted before, and how she seemed a bit full of herself, and how she could be downright mean sometimes, and how she was often just so annoying.. Percy wasn't one to hold grudges, so he wasn't going to mad about what happened last week. Then again, he didn't have to look too far for reasons to be mad again.

Suddenly, her voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Percy, five minutes," Annabeth said.

"What? Five minutes to what?" Percy asked, confused.

"Five minutes until the cast list is posted!" Annabeth responded, almost shouting.

Percy and Annabeth sank down onto the couch to wait. About every five seconds one of them would check their watches, and then sigh once they realized there were still a few minutes let. They also looked into the hallway, looking for Chiron and . Suddenly, with 3 and a half minutes to go, there was a knock at the door.

Annabeth leaped up from the couch and opened it. From his angle, Percy couldn't see who was behind it, so he waited till the person came in. Soon, in filed 11 other people. He remembered them from the audition. They were Rachel Dare, HazelAtlas, Jason Grace, Frank Zhang, Piper McLean, Hazel Levesque, Will Solace, Nico DiAngelo, Luke Castellan, Leo Valdez, a woman Percy didn't recognize, and Grover, Percy's friend.

As everyone sat down, everyone said hello, and then fell into an awkward silence.

A few minutes later, Percy looked down at his watch and realized that it was 2:30.

"Guys! Guys, it's 2:30!" He exclaimed, breaking the silence. Everyone abruptly stood up and waited nervously by the entrance to the hallway. Chiron and wheeled into the room, holding two sheets of paper.

There was another knock at the door. Chiron opened it. In came a whole group of people Percy didn't know. He thought that they were probably other people from the audition Percy didn't know.

"Ah, I see that everyone invited is here," Chiron told everyone. He pinned the sheets of paper to the wall, and then moved out of the way while everyone else crowded around the papers, Percy could see one sheet was for the ensemble and one was for the main actors. Percy looked at the main actors sheet. The sheet read:

Hamilton: An American Musical Casting Sheet

Calypso Atlas - Maria Reynolds

Luke Castellan - Aaron Burr

Annabeth Chase - Eliza Hamilton

Rachel Dare - Understudy for Eliza Hamilton

Nico DiAngelo - Philip Schuyler

Jason Grace - George Washington

Perseus Jackson - Alexander Hamilton

Hazel Levesque - Peggy Schuyler

Piper McLean - Angelica Schuyler

Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano - Understudy for Angelica Schuyler

Will Solace - King George the Third

Leo Valdez - Marquis De Lafayette Thomas Jefferson

Frank Zhang - Hercules Mulligan, James Madison

Percy smiled widely. He had been cast as the leading role! And here he had been thinking he would be lucky to be cast in the ensemble. This was so amazing, and now he could finally say all this hard work would actually be worth it. Of course, the show could still completely fail, but Percy had a feeling that this would work out.

"Now, it wasn't an easy decision choosing that cast, but all decisions are final. Thank you all for coming. You may go," Chiron announced, "Everyone in the cast will be informed shortly of the rehearsal times."

Percy smiled, and walked out. He stayed calm for exactly three seconds, and then he shouted, "Yes!" and called his mom as he drove out.

Annabeth Third Person POV

Annabeth gasped as she saw her name listed as one of the leading parts. She could finally prove to her father that she could and would follow her dreams. She smiled.

"I guess we're being schuyler sisters together!" Piper said to Annabeth and Hazel.

"Yeah, yeah I guess we are. I can't believe it!" Annabeth responded.

"This is so crazy," Hazel commented.

"So, you guys wanna hang out sometime?" Piper offered.

"Of course!" Hazel answered. Annabeth thought about the offer, and grinned. She didn't really have any close friends, so this could be fun. Besides, Annabeth liked Hazel and Piper already.

"Yeah, that sounds fantastic," Annabeth said.

"Great, can I have your phone numbers so I can text you?" Piper asked. Hazel and Annabeth added their phone numbers to Piper's phone, and Piper created a group chat.

"Great, well I have to get going," Piper said, "Bye!'

Everyone left the theater. Just as Annabeth walked out, she could see Nancy Bobofit complaining to Chiron.

"But, but, I would make a better Eliza!" Nancy whined, while Chiron looked bored, "That Chase girl isn't even a good actor, and-"

Chiron cut Nancy off. "All decisions are final. And, Nancy, you didn't even see 's audition. I will have you know she did very well. Now, goodbye," He said firmly.

Annabeth kept walking by, and smiled. Annabeth sat into her car, and began to drive away, calling her dad.

"Hey dad, I've got some great news for you…"

A/N: Sorry my updates are so random, I'm still getting used to my schedule now that school's properly started. I'll try and find writing time during the week, so I can update every week or so. Here's a random fact for you: The difference between nervous and anxious is that nervous is being scared of something you don't know will happen, and anxious is being scared of something you do know will happen. For example, if there was a crocodile placed in front of you, and you were scared that it might bite you, you would be nervous. If you knew it would bite you, and you were scared, you would be anxious. A lot of people probably make this mistake in their writing, so there you go. If you're still reading, you get blue cookies.
