Chapter 6
Disclaimer: Any fictional characters, places, and things you recognize belong to Rick Riordan, who is evil (not really (or is he?)) and enjoys ending a whole book on a massive cliff hanger. Then again, I once read a book (A Series of Unfortunate Events) that ended with sending two characters in a caravan that was rolling down a cliff. It didn't even have another chapter after that, like MoA did. It legit just ended. Oh gosh, I made this long. Sorry, I got distracted.
A/N: Hey everyone! I hope you've all had a great week. I'm so excited! We are officially over 300 views! Also, I'd just like to clarify one thing: Although the last chapter, and this one, didn't have too much rehearsal, they are happening, I'm just including too much about that. The next chapter probably will, though. Here's the Hamilton lyric: "Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now!"
Annabeth Third Person POV:
Annabeth loaded the last box into her car, and then stepped inside. She was on her way to Piper's, Hazel's, and now her apartment in New Rome. As she started up the car, she called Piper to let her know she was moving in.
"Hi Piper," Annabeth greeted.
"Hey Annie,"
"Don't call me Annie. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I'm on my way to the apartment. You should expect me in about an hour."
"Okay, great. Hazel said she would come in a few minutes, so you should be able to help with unpacking, decorating, and all that stuff."
"Sounds great. I'll see you in a bit! Bye!"
"See you soon!" Piper said, and hung up.
Annabeth kept driving. She came up with about a million and one ideas of how the building would look. Maybe it would be an old brick building with a large, ornate door from the 17th century. Oh, and wouldn't it be the coolest thing if it had one of those of those old fashioned gold knockers? Or maybe it would be a pale, cream colored building with flower pots in the windows and a smooth, dark wood door and there would be a fluffy brown door mat.
Annabeth was jerked out of her thoughts as her phone -which had been giving her the directions- said the little message saying "You've arrived."
She parked her car in front of the building and stared. It was most definitely not what she had expected, but Annabeth loved it. It wasn't a medium height building, blue-gray in color. There were plenty of pretty big, arched windows with cream colored curtains. It has stairs leading up to a set of dark brown, wooden, double doors with golden handles. Unfortunately, there were no old fashioned knockers. Annabeth opened her trunk and grabbed all her boxes of her belongings. She gathered them up into her arms, and began to walk into the building. Just as she was nearing the steps, Annabeth crashed into someone else, and her boxes, along with their boxes, toppled out of their arms.
"Oh, s-sorry, I'm such an idiot. Here, let me help," the person stuttered, leaning down to pick up his boxes.
"Oh, no, I should be apologizing, I wasn't looking where I was going," Annabeth responded. They both looked up at the same time, and stared at each other.
"Oh, um, Percy, hi," Annabeth greeted.
"Uh… yeah, hi… Annabeth," Percy answered nervously.
"Are you moving in?" Annabeth asked curiously.
"Oh yeah, I'm going to be roommates with this guy named Luke. He's actually playing Aaron Burr,"
"Oh, cool. Well, I should probably get going," Annabeth said, gathering up the last of her boxes.
"Yeah, I'll… see you around, I guess," Percy said, waving goodbye.
"Goodbye!" Annabeth waved as she walked up the stairs, leaving Percy standing alone behind her.
She hurried into the building, making sure to look out for any other people. She stepped into the elevator, and pressed the number 6. Once it reached the floor, she walked out of the elevator, grumbling about how heavy the boxes were.
"Would you like some help with those?" A man asked her. Annabeth looked up, startled. The man in front of her was pretty tall, handsome, and had blonde hair and blue eyes. The only thing marring his perfect appearance was a long scar running down the side of his face. Annabeth felt a fluttery feeling in her stomach.
"Yeah, sure. I mean, if you would want to. I mean, you know, if it wouldn't be any trouble, then I-I would like that," Annabeth stuttered nervously, mentally groaning. Now he would never like her!
"Of course," The man responded easily, grabbing three of her boxes, "What's your name?"
"Annabeth Chase,"
"Well, Miss Chase, I am Luke Castellan. I feel like I've seen you around. Would you by any chance be in a musical called Hamilton?"
"Yes, actually. I'm playing Eliza,"
"Wow, you must be a good singer," Annabeth's heart fell a little. He hadn't even remembered her.
"Yeah, I guess so," They chatted about Hamilton until they reached apartment number 21.
"Well, this is my new apartment," Annabeth said, grabbing her boxes from Luke, "Bye!" Annabeth closed the door behind her.
"Annabeth! Hi!" Piper shouted, hugging her.
"Hi Pipes," Annabeth said, laughing, "Hey Hazel. How are you guys?"
"Great, thanks!" Hazel answered, smiling.
"It's been amazing! We've been decorating the apartment, and it looks great so far! You wanna help?" Piper offered.
"Sure," Annabeth accepted, smiling. Piper was always so cheerful.
They had a happy afternoon decorating the apartment, unpacking, and shutting down Piper's insane furniture requests. ("No Piper, we can't buy a 8,000 dollar couch," "But it looks so comfy!")

Percy third person POV:
Percy stood outside the building, watching Annabeth leave. He groaned. Annabeth probably thought he was an idiot. He stood there for about 10 minutes before realizing he should probably go inside.
Percy walked inside, and headed into the building. He stepped into the elevator to check the text message Luke had sent him before he left.
Luke: Btw, my apartment number/floor is floor 6 number 14
Percy: K thanks Im on my way
Percy pressed the button for floor six, and waited as the elevator moved upwards. He stepped out of the elevator and walked down the hall, looking for number 14. There it was! Percy knocked on the door, calling out, "Hello? Luke? It's Percy!"
Annabeth opened the door.
"Hello? Percy? Why are you here? If you're looking for Luke, his apartment is… I dunno, not here," Annabeth said.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm dyslexic, you know, so the 21 looked kind of like 14…" Percy trailed off, realizing how dumb that sounded.
Annabeth raised one eyebrow. "Right, well, if his apartment number is under 21, then you should go the other way,"
"Oh right sorry. See you so-"
Someone called something from inside, and Annabeth cut Percy off.
"Bye Percy, gotta run." With that, Annabeth closed the door in his face. Percy sighed, and walked the other way until he found the real apartment 14.
Percy knocked on the door. "Hello? It's Percy!" He called.
Soon, Percy heard footsteps coming.
"Hey Percy. Come in, " Luke invited.
"Sure, thanks," Percy said, and walked in. He set his boxes down, and sat on the couch.
"Have you ever acted before?" Luke asked.
"What? Oh, no. This is my first job," Percy answered.
"Oh, cool. I was in a play once before. Ended pretty badly. Honestly, I think I'm pretty lucky to have even gotten this job. But I'm sure you'll do fine," Luke said.
"Oh, um, sure, thanks," Percy answered.
They spent the rest of the afternoon packing, and talking. As it turned out, Luke was a nice guy. He was funny, and knew how to tell a good story. Maybe this would actually work out.
A/N: So, that was the chapter. Today, I'll try and update the other chapters so it shows Hazel as Peggy. Thanks for reading! Please review, favorite, or follow. It really makes my day! :) Also, I'm releasing a one-shot Percy Jackson story on Christmas, so look out for that. Here's the recommendation: To Sir, With Love
