Disclaimer: Yeah… I wish I owned either Percy Jackson or Hamilton. Sadly not
A/N: Hey everybody! How are y'all doing? I hope you guys are doing well! Anyway, here's chapter 15! It's exciting because, well, it's chapter 15! And in this chapter, it finally gets a little more exciting, so… yay! There's definitely a lot going on in this chappie. Here's your lyric: "There's a million things I haven't done, but just you wait, just you wait," - Satisfied, Lin Manuel Miranda (That's also where I got my title from)
Annabeth POV:
"Annabeth, just screw up your courage and do it already. It's actually, like, painful to watch you pine over Annabeth," Piper said, idly scrolling through her texts.
"I'm not pining over him!" Annabeth refuted.
"Well, you do like him, don't you?" Piper asked.
"Well…" Annabeth thought for a moment, "Yeah, I do."
"So ask him out," Piper suggested.
"Yeah, yeah, okay. Okay. Okay," Annabeth decided.
"So you'll ask him out today at practice?" Piper asked, looking excited.
Annabeth grinned; Piper's excitement was infectious.
"Yep," She answered.
Another thought occurred to her, one that had been bothering her for nearly two weeks now.
"Hey, Piper," She began.
"Mhm," Piper responded.
"Um, should I have invited my parents to the play?"
"You didn't invite your parents to the play?"
"Well… no. We don't exactly have the greatest relationship," Annabeth responded. Piper nodded; she had heard a bit about what had happened. Annabeth was pretty sure Piper hated Frederick and Helen Chase more than she did.
"Well, maybe… invite them. Tell them what's happening, where, and give 'em a couple tickets. Don't, like, get your hopes up too much, but try to make it so that if any of them want to come, they can," Piper suggested.
Annabeth mulled it over for a minute, "Yeah, yeah that sounds good. I'll sort out getting the tickets with Chiron today, and then I'll send them to my parents and brothers with an explanation of what they are and stuff. I don't think I'll do it in person. That did not go well last time."
"That sounds good, Anni-"
"Don't call me Annie."
"No! I was going to say… Anni...beth?"
"Oh, of course you were! Because you are pretty much my closest friend, so you would know exactly how to spell and pronounce my name. I would include how to not be annoying, but you've clearly already failed in that, " Annabeth in a sweet tone.
Piper smacked her with a book and then responded, "You wound me," in mock offense.
"Come on, Piper. We're going to be late," Annabeth responded, dragging Piper out from her cozy spot on the couch to the car.
A few hours later, Annabeth approached Chiron while they were on a five minute break.
"Hey, Chiron?" Annabeth began.
"Yes, Annabeth? Is there anything I can do for you?" Chiron asked.
"Actually, um, yes. So I know this is definitely pretty late to ask, but, uh, do you maybe have four tickets I could use? I haven't gotten tickets for my family yet. I actually wasn't even sure that I was going to invite them, but now that I am, could I-"
Chiron cut her off, "Yes. I will arrange for four tickets. I don't know how close together the seats will be, but I will try."
"Thank you," Annabeth said.
A few minutes later, Annabeth got an email with the four tickets attached. She quickly forwarded it to her parents, typing out a message:
Dad and Hellen,
Here are four tickets to the play I'm starring in, Hamilton: An American Musical. It does have quite a bit of rap and similar styles of music so it might be helpful to read a synopsis before you come. It's at 7:00 PM on Friday the 21st, at the Long Island Broadway theater. Print out the tickets attached in this email.
Yours, Annabeth.
Annabeth read through the email once more, checking it for spelling mistakes. When she felt certain that it looked good, she pressed send, and went on her way.
At the end of the rehearsal, when they were all tired and sweaty, Annabeth approached Percy as he was exiting his dressing room.
"Hey, Percy," She began, already internally cringing at the awkwardness of that opening line, "Could I ask you something?"
"Uh, sure?" He responded, clearly confused.
"Is there a chance you would be interested in going out with me?" She asked. Annabeth saw the expression on his face, and was about to quickly add, "You know, as a friend," since he obviously wasn't interested.
Much to her surprise, he smiled widely before she had the chance to say anything, "Like, as a date?"
She punched him on the arm, "Yeah duh, Seaweed Brain."
"Yeah, yeah I would love to," He responded. Annabeth grinned.
"I'm actually free tonight. Are you?" Annabeth asked.
"Yes, I am. Where should we go?" Percy wondered.
"It's a surprise," Annabeth said mysteriously, "I'll pick you up at 7:00. Oh, and, wear something formal."
"Sounds like a plan," He said with that trademark lopsided grin of his.
"See you then," She responded.
On that note, Annabeth waved goodbye, and walked back out to her car.

Percy POV:
"Percy, just like put on a suit, attempt to brush your hair, and you're all good," Grover advised.
"But what do I do?" Percy asked insistently.
"Just be yourself, Percy. Not that much had changed. Basically, you both realized that you liked each other, and she just happened to take the first step. A ton of relationships are built off of strong friendships, including yours. Stop stressing about what to do to make it special. Just make sure you both have a nice time, and that you kiss her at the end, 'cause then you're, like, properly letting her know that you like her. Then you start worrying about how to be a good boyfriend."
"Oh. I guess that makes sense," Percy replied, "Now, there's only one issue. I don't think I have a suit."
"You sure?" Grover asked, "Didn't Sally throw in a suit before you left?"
Percy's eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! I forgot about that!" He ran over to his closet, and, after several minutes of searching, pulled out a navy blue suit with a matching tie. There was writing in pen on insider of the top of the back: Property of Poseidon Jackson. This had belonged to his father. Why hadn't his mom told him?
"Wow," Percy murmured softly, running his hands over it. It had a softer, slightly worn feel to it.
"Percy, you all good there?" Grover called.
"Yeah, just a sec!" Percy called back.
He came out, and showed Grover the suit.
"Cool, try it on," Grover instructed.
Percy changed into the suit. Grover said in clear approval, "Not bad, man. Not bad at all."
Percy had to admit that Grover was right. It fit pretty well -a little big, but that was okay.
"Now, all we have to do is attempt to brush that bird's nest you call hair, and you'll be all ready by 7:00," Grover said.
Percy grabbed a comb and attempted (emphasis on attempted) to run it through his tangled locks. After roughly forty six seconds, he gave up.
After approximately 10 minutes of panicking (because oh-my-god-he's-going-on-a-date-and-it's-been-several-years-since-that-last-happened) later, there was a knock at the door.
Percy scrambled up from his comfy position on the couch and ran to open it. It was Annabeth.
"Hi," She said.
"Um, hi," He answered.
"You clean up well," Annabeth complimented.
"You don't look half bad yourself," He replied. That was a lie. Annabeth looked stunning. Her hair was long and loose, flowing down her back. She wore a loose, flowing, dark purple Greek style dress that went down to her ankles, with one shoulder strap. She also had on black heels that were low -probably only an inch or two.
"Are you all ready to get going?" Annabeth asked.
"What? Oh, um, yeah," Percy answered.
"Bye Grover!" He called over his shoulder as they walked to the parking lot.
"So… where are we going tonight?" Percy asked.
"You'll see when we get there," was the only answer he got.
At first, talking felt a tad awkward. It felt like everything had changed. However, after a few minutes of conversation, it felt more normal. More comfortable. Not that much had changed, like Grover said.
Before long, they parked the car in the parking lot near the restaurant. It was a dark brown building that Percy supposed looked something like a restaurant in Italy would look like. All of his architecture knowledge consisted of the odd snippet of information that he remembered out of everything in Annabeth's long rants about things like the importance of columns in Greco Roman architecture, or how Ancient Egyptian architecture influenced buildings in the modern world. It was called the New Rome Italian Ristorante.
"You like pizza, and this place looked nice, so I figured this place would work," Annabeth explained. Percy nodded.
As they entered the restaurant, the host asked them, "Do you have a reservation?"
"Yes," Annabeth answered, "Chase, table for two?"
"Ah, yes," The host answered, "Right this way." He led them through a confusing maze of tables, until he finally showed them a little table in the back corner. "Have a nice night," The host said, walking back to the front desk.
They laughed and talked, until the waiter came to take their orders.
Flipping through the menu, Annabeth asked, "Could I have a beef lasagna with a Shirley Temple? (That's a kind of drink)"
The waiter nodded, and scribbled it down on his pad. "And you, signore?" (Sir in Italian)
"Uh, I'll have the Mediterranean pizza with a Coke," Percy said.
Once their food came, Percy tried a slice of the delicious, cheesy goodness. "Oh, at ih 'eally ood," He said as he chewed.
Annabeth frowned in confusion.
"Oh, that is really good," Percy said once he had finished his bite.
"Yeah, that looks good," Annabeth said, taking a bite of her lasagna, "But this is better."
That sparked a long debate about pizza versus lasagna. ("I mean, I've got nothing against pizza, pizza is great. But lasagna is just…")
When they both finally agreed to disagree, they had finished eating, and their glasses were empty.
"You wanna get, like, gelato or something?" Annabeth offered.
Five minutes later, Percy dug his spoon into a bowl of blueberry gelato. He had been delighted when he realized that there was a blue option. Annabeth had a bowl of stracciatella, which was kind of like vanilla with tiny tiny chocolate chips.
"I always get stracciatella," Annabeth explained, "It's delicious."
"You aren't one of those people who likes vanilla ice cream, are you?" Percy asked as they left the restaurant, "Because then we might have to break up."
"Technically," Annabeth said, laughing, "We were never together."
"But we're on a date," Percy pointed out.
"Still doesn't mean we're dating. You never asked."
"Fine. Annabeth Chase, will you be my girlfriend?" Percy asked.
"Hmm… let's think, yes," Annabeth agreed, "That's moving a little fast, but sure."
Percy took a step closer.
"As a matter of fact, I do like vanilla," Annabeth murmured just before they kissed.
And it was awesome.

A/N: Yay, Percabeth is finally happening! Just to let you know, the next chapter is opening night, so that's exciting! I don't know why I'm ending every sentence with an exclamation point! But seriously, thank you for reading, and please leave a review, I'd love to know what you think.
Recommendation:
Soul Shards by Nymph of Faeryland
No one can remember when people first started having soulmates, but now it's commonplace, it's everywhere. Annabeth Chase didn't care about the soul mating until a boy moved in upstairs...a boy, who in a world of soulmates, could never have been Annabeth's.
