Hey all! Time for another update. This story seems to have sunk in popularity due to my absence on the last chapter. Or maybe it's just that people are bored by the no death. Oh well! Time for a new chapter! I know these are getting shorter but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

"Alright." Chef said, pushing open the door. "Be quiet. Clear the rooms. If you see any supplies, grab it."

"Should we travel in pairs?" Brick asked, looking around with the other four at the shabby lobby.

"Good idea." Chef nodded.

"I'll go grab someone." Aidan shrugged. "Jo and Eva can go together and Chef and Brick can tag along. I'll grab Lightning or someone."

Chef nodded. "Be snappy." He said.

Jo, Eva, Brick and Chef approached the staircase leading up to the rooms. "Okay, you take left, we'll take right." Chef whispered as he started ascending the creaky stairs.

Eva nodded as Jo withdrew her handgun. They looked at each other and nodded.

They approached the top of the stairs and looked around. All seemed quiet. Chef and Brick went to the right and tried the door. It opened. The two men locked eyes as they quickly entered the room, guns ready. They relaxed at the sight of nobody there.

"Do a quick search." Chef ordered, going over to the nearby drawers and opening them up. "This looks like it could fit someone." He mused, holding up a couple of hooded jackets.

"Take 'em." Brick called from the bathroom. "Nice!" He walked out holding a bottle of aspirin. He shook it and Chef grinned. "It's about half full." The cadet informed him, pocketing the bottle. He held up what was in his other hand.

"Good, I think some people are getting down to their second to last rolls." Brick nodded, eyeing the six pack of toliet paper. He extended his hand and the cadet gave the package to him. Chef quickly ripped into it and took out two rolls. He tossed one to Brick and put the other in his own backpack. "That's the beauty of finding things first." The cook smirked as Brick looked down at the roll.

"I can get behind that." Brick nodded, putting the roll in his backpack as well. "Times are tough." He justified.

After continuing the search of the room and finding nothing else of note, the two moved onto the next room.

"Anything good?" Jo asked from the bathroom.

"Nah, not really. Found a pair of socks and a metal water bottle." Eva shrugged, though Jo could not see this.

"Well I found a pack of tampons." Jo smirked, emerging from the bathroom, and ripping open the cardboard. "They snooze they lose." She laughed as she tossed half of them into the eager hands of Eva.

"Put the box in the trash." Eva suggested as she placed the tampons neatly into her bag. "Thank god you found these. I was having to use toilet paper."

"Let's head to the next room. There is nothing else here." Jo said, hefting her gun as she walked back into the hallway, Eva in tow.

Jo kicked down the door noisily as she and Eva peeked around the doorframe, guns ready.

"Clear." They both said at the same time. They entered the room.

"Score!" They grinned, seeing three or four pillows strewn on the bed. Jo stuffed two into her backpack and Eva put another two in her rucksack.

"Found these." Eva shrugged, holding up a couple wool hats.

"Take them, when it gets cold again we'll want them." Jo nodded, heading into the bathroom. "No goddamn toilet paper." She sighed, coming back out.

"Let's keep moving." Eva said curtly.

Aidan jogged back towards the camp.

"Hey guys, need one more person." He said, panting slightly from his run back.

"Little held up here." Noah quickly excused himself, busying himself with unloading supplies.

"Um, busy?" Gwen muttered, quickly stopping her snuggling with her boyfriend and looking like she was working.

"I'll go." Duncan rolled his eyes. As he got up Courtney grabbed his hand reluctantly.

"Relax." Aidan rolled his eyes. "it's been quiet so far. He'll be fine."

Duncan shot a glare at the sandy-haired teen but went with him anyways.

Geoff hoisted a box out of one of the trucks. "Hoorah! Thats the last one for this car."

"Do you hear that, eh?" Ezekiel piped up, craning his neck and listening.

Everyone paused.

"What? What do you hear?" Beth asked, panicky.

"A car." Shuie hissed. "Approaching fast. I'm hiding." He scuttled behind a lone trash can and crouched down. Zekitrov also hid.

"Get down." James suggested. "Maybe it'll go right by us."

"How many cars do you think they have?" Bridgette asked, trembling.

"Not too many." Ezekiel assured, still straining his ears. "Three at most, I'd say."

"Why don't we just greet them? Not everyone can be evil assholes." Courtney suggested.

"Are you nuts? I'm not taking that risk! What if they just open fire?" Cody yelled at him, waving his scrawny arms around frantically.

"Better to not risk it. This is just another place, if they don't see people they might blow right by it." Alejandro said strategically.

Heather disagreed. "Yeah, but if they see people here, they might get scared and keep going."

"They're getting closer! Just get down!" Izzy shrieked, hiding behind one of the cars. Everyone quickly scattered and hid in various locations.

"Oh no!" Sierra gasped, hiding with Cody. "What about the ones inside?"

Cody paled. "Oh please go by us. Please, please go by us."

"You hear that?" Aidan asked Duncan as they were rummaging through one of the rooms. "Sounds like cars. Did one of the group start it up?"

Duncan paused, using his motor expertise to determine whether or not that the noise of the car he heard matched the cars they had arrived in.

Duncan's eyes shot open. "No." He hissed, racing towards the window and peering out. "Two cars." He whispered. "Go get Chef, Brick and the girls." He whispered to him. "Quickly!"

Aidan scrambled out of the room.

Duncan watched, wincing as he saw his friends hiding behind cars. The cars pulled into the motel.

"Shit!" The delinquent heard Chef bark. He ran by Duncan, Brick in tow, and he heard him thud down the stairs. The delinquent grabbed a curtain, wrapping it firmly around his hand. He punched the window, shattering it, retracting his hand, the cloth protecting his hand from the shattered glass. He ignored the throbbing in his knuckles, as he saw with immense relief that Courtney was near the window.

"Courtney." He hissed to her, and the CIT jumped. She relaxed when she saw Duncan.

"What?" She asked annoyed. trying to mask her fear with her usual attitude .

"Get over here?" Duncan requested, looking imploringly into her eyes.

Courtney peeked around her hiding place, behind a small brick wall, and quickly hurried over to Duncan. He pulled her through the widow and they collapsed in a heap onto the floor.

Duncan couldn't keep the smile off his face as they hid in the room together, getting ready to bolt at any second.

Chef and Brick raised their guns as two cars came speeding into the entrance way to the motel. The cars, one black Toyota Corolla and one green Chevy Impala. The two cars slammed on their brakes at the sight of the two arms wielding men.

"Hands up!" Chef screamed at the two cars, and he saw through the window the two drivers, both young men, quickly raised their hands up. "Get out of the car, NOW!" Chef roared.

The two adolescents quickly fumbled out of their cars, their shaking arms still in the air.

One by one, the rest of the group peeked out of their hiding spots. Only Aidan, Duncan, Courtney, Eva and Jo remained inside the hotel, unseen.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Chef asked the two young men, his gun still raised.

"We-we were just driving!" One of the young men said shiftily. He was wearing a light blue windbreaker/

"Driving where?" Chef shot back.

"Just, passing time, thought we'd stop in here to scavenge. Honest!" The other man said. He was wearing a faded orange baseball cap.

"What do we do with them?" Harold asked curiously.

"Shoot them?" Alejandro suggested. "Loot their cars and clothes?"

The two men paled considerably at this.

"J-just let us go, man." Baseball Cap said, terrified.

"We ain't planning on bothering nobody." Windbreaker quaked.

Chef growled, pondering what to do.

"Go check the cars." He told Justin and Trent. "See if they got anything shoddy in there."

The two boys quickly ran to the cars and rummaged around.

"No guns." Trent called from his car. "Some pot, but no weapons or signs of human struggling."

Chef eyed the two supposed potheads suspiciously. "Where are you from?"

"About five miles away." Windbreaker cut Baseball Cap off, who was about to speak. "Living by ourselves."

Chef eyed the two kids, coming up with a desicion. "Get the hell outta here." He told the duo. "And don'tchu think about coming back, you here?"

The two boys nodded eagerly, and when Chef lowered his gun they ran back into their cars, getting in and speeding away.

The atmosphere relaxed.

"Jesus." Chef breathed a sigh and wiped preparation off his forehead.

"Wow, confrontation avoided. Lucky day." Noah quipped, emerging from behind a ruined car.

"Get the supplies inside." Chef muttered as the motors of the two young men faded into the distance.

Within fifteen minutes all the supplies were stacked neatly in the lobby of the motel. Everyone was in the lobby, sitting on different things, whether they be desks, chairs, the floor, or anything else they could find in the shabby, sunlit room.

"Alright. This place is picked clean." Chef asked. "Right?"

"Pretty much." Aidan shrugged.

"Yeah, I got everything of value." Eva nodded.

"There's been no zombies." Cody pointed out. "Like, none at all. Does anyone find that a little bit weird?"

"Who cares?" Gwen asked. "No zombies is a good thing, right?"

"Yeah, but theres a reason there are no zombies." Zetrikov said sagely, much to everyones surprise.

"Zetrikov has a point." Shuie piped up. "There has to be something thats keeping this are clear. I'd say people have another community near by that go on sweeps. We took out a group like that a couple months back."

"Hmm, well if they're taking zombies out they have to be friendly, right?" Beth said naively.

"Not necessarily." Shuie responded. "We weren't."

"Well, I think it'll just be best to stay out of the way of everybody. We'll be out of this area by tomorrow." Chef said simply. "God. I never thought that other humans would be our main concern when this all started going down."

"People are animals, just like the rest of them." Zetrikov chuckled.

"So, what's for Sha-dinner?" Lightning asked, changing the subject.

"Canned food." Noah sighed, rummaging through the boxes. "Same as usual. Get used to it."

"Ugh." Alejandro sighed. "My temple will not like this."

"I"m weeping." Noah shot back with a roll of his eyes.

"Well, all we got are flashlights, eh?" Ezekiel said. "And there aren't any fireplaces here so when the sun goes down we pretty much got to go to bed."

"Aw, there isn't a fireplace?" Geoff complained. "Not cool. That makes it creepier!" At her boyfriends words, Bridgette shivered and huddled closer against him.

"We can leave now?" Courtney suggested. "Drive at night?"

"No, we need rest." Sierra argued.

"Crazy's got a point." Eva nodded. "Better to be well rested."

"Yeah." Chef decided. "We'll stick through the night and leave tomorrow morning. This place doesn't seem to bad, and since we'll all be sleeping upstairs, we'll have a little bit of time before they're on us."

"Well hopefully it doesn't come to that." Brick said comfortingly.

"Hopefully not." Chef agreed.

Everyone ate dinner, and it was quiet and uneventful.

"Mediocre." Noah sighed, tossing his can onto the floor. "My favorite."

"Yeah, it is pretty shitty." Jo chuckled, crumpling her can in her fist and tossing it over her shoulder.

"Enjoy it." Aidan advised. "You never know when you're next meal is going to be."

"Psh." Duncan scoffed. "Yeah, I think mine'll be in about twelve to fourteen hours when I wake up for breakfast."

Aidan ignored the bait and just continued eating.

After everyone was totally done with their dinner, the campers all bunked in the rooms upstairs.

Heather had first refused Alejandro's offer to sleep in the same room, but the Latin teen had resorted to humiliatingly using puppy dog eyes, and the queen of mean had caved in. Heather had, however, drawn the line at sleeping in the same bed. This had somewhat annoyed Alejandro.

"Why not?" Alejandro asked grumpily. "You did it on the boat."

"I just…shut up." Heather snapped. "Leave me alone." However, Alejandro wasn't giving up that easily.

"What is it, chica?" He asked, sitting at the end of her bed.

"Nothing." Heather said, her voice shaky. She took a deep breath, steadying herself. "It's nothing." She said again, her voice firmer.

Alejandro sighed, deciding not to press the issue. "Good night chica." He sighed, returning to his own bed.

"Ugh, my fucking leg." James griped as he lowered himself onto his bed, his teeth grit in pain.

Harold winced in sympathy pains. "Don't worry James, those wounds will be healed in about twenty-four hours.

"Good." James groaned. "Let me go to sleep so it'll be over quicker."

Harold nodded and they went to sleep.

Ezekiel and Justin had also shared a room.

"G'night Justin." Ezekiel yawned tiredly.

"Night man." Justin mumbled, looking up at the ceiling.

Sierra, like her World Tour debutee partner Alejandro, had insisted that her crush sleep with him.

"Ugh, just…can we stick to separate beds?" Cody sighed, defeated.

"Sure!" Sierra giggled mischievously. Cody sighed in relief and crawled in-between his sheets. He was just about to sleep when Sierra slipped in-between the sheets as well.

Cody sighed as Sierra giggled, but relented.

"How'd I get stuck with you?" Noah groaned as Lightning counted out his nightly workout.

"Sha-sixty, sha-sixty-one, sha-sixty-two!" Lightning counted out his pushups. When he reached Seventy he stopped, front-flipping onto his bed. "You should be honored!" The jock said honestly. "I'm the Sha-Lightning! Not just anybody gets to sleep in my presence!"

"Except all the people in the seasons you competed in." Noah rolled his eyes, remembering the jock's finalist status in Revenge of the Island and equally impressive fourth place finish in Season 5. "Along with the millions of people who saw you on live television."

"Shut up." Lightning frowned, refusing to speak anymore.

Noah rolled his eyes, bemused, and went to sleep, as there was no light to read by."

Duncan and Courtney were snuggled up in the same bed.

"So." Courtney giggled. "I wish you could've seen the look on your face when you asked me to come in the window with you."

"What?" Duncan asked, raising his unibrow as Courtney giggled. He poked her side playfully. "What?" he asked again.

"It was just nice to see." She smiled, "You looking all terrified and pleading."

Duncan groaned. "Shut up." He said, embarrassed as Courtney giggled some more.

The two continued to talk and laugh for a little while before drifting off to sleep.

Eva and Jo had both just finished a nightly workout and collapsed onto their beds, totally exhausted. They were asleep within minutes.

"Can you please be quiet?" Beth asked, irritated.

"But it's just so much fun!" Izzy pouted.

"What are you even doing?" The farm girl asked, trying not to sound too curious on what the redhead was doing.

"I'm flicking my earlobe!" Izzy said, and she stopped her conversation and a dull 'thunk' or finger hitting flesh could be heard, and she erupted into a fresh wave of laughter.

Beth sighed in bemusement and tried to go to sleep.

Trent and Gwen had fallen asleep after talking about the situation they were in.

Geoff and Bridgette were making out, and steadily made the bases, the situation getting the best of their sexual animalistic natures. That, and that they didn't know how much longer they had together.

Brick and Aidan were sharing a room.

"Why do you call that guy Chef?" Aidan asked. 'I've been meaning to ask you."

"Oh. Well we were on the show Total Drama, and he was the cook." Brick explained cheerfully.

"Oh." Was all Aidan said, "Never liked that show, thought it was kind of stupid."

Brick, spirits somewhat dampened, frowned and didn't say anything else.

Chef was drifting off to bed. He had insisted on sleeping in the same room as the two prisoners, just incase they tried to seascape with one of the cars.

Oh boy. What the hell am I going to do? The cook thought as he reflected on all the people he'd lost. What a shitshow…I better get some sleep.

Just as he was about to close his eyes, finally getting to a peaceful place, bullets slammed through the wall, shattering glass and eliciting screams…
