Ch. 18

"Are you sure? I guess so, okay tell Nana I said hi" Kim hung up the phone with a sigh, "Looks like everyone's busy today"

Ron groaned flopping onto the bed, "You know how did the universe work to make it this week the one everyone is busy?" he questioned, "We might have to pass the underwater adventure KP"

Kim sat next to him on the bed, "Maybe. I mean we really can't bring Maggie underwater. Like what if something goes wrong?"

"Kim, it's us. If we were invited it will go wrong" he pointed out, "But that also means we might got a villain or ten doing something there. So we risk the munchkin going undersea or we possibly ignore it and maybe be responsible for the death of a lot of dudes... tough call"

"We might have to risk it." she admitted, "There isn't much of a choice"

"Welcome to NeoAtlantis" the attendant greeted as the last submarine docked. A large group of people walked out looking around in awe; the city was an enormous dome with tunneled lights dotting along the outer edges of the dome with large orbs of light suspended above spots across the city. Thick glass made the dome, fish and whales swimming around close enough for them to see.

The group chatted excitedly, some going towards the glass pointing at the fish. Kim and Ron exited looking around, "You know, I've never known what it felt like to be a goldfish in a bowl...not liking the experience" Ron spoke. He had Maggie in one of those baby carriers on his chest as they walked along with the group.

"We're glad that our esteemed guests were able to take time out of their busy schedules to tour what is quite possibly the most advanced motion of human accommodation since the nomadic ancient man created settlements" she continued as they walked into a monorail. Everyone loaded to the monorail and rode off, the attendant continued, "NeoAtlantis is the result of at least ten years of hard work and engineering from a group of colleagues who wanted to make their mark on the world. With charisma and a large loan they created the company of Ocean Dive"

One person put their hand in the air, " I'm curious as of what this glass is made of and is there a sustainable resource of food, oxygen, and energy to create an actual successful city. Also how is it possible for everything to not crack despite the large amount of pressure from the ocean outside?"

"That is an excellent question. Ocean Dive has sequestered off a section of ocean floor to re engineer as farmland, parks and forests. While the latter will takes years to happen, there is a supply of oxygen. Off to the northern most side is a facility that detaches water into its hydrogen and oxygen compounds along with several other elements" she answered, "We are still a few miles off, but we use geothermal energy from underwater volcanoes to power the energy"

"Sounds like a lot of work" Kim muttered

"Yeah, but you gotta admit it is kinda cool to see an actual underwater city and it not be in a videogame." Ron pointed out, "It looks really cool seeing stuff we never get to see on tv though." . He thought before waving his hand in the air, "Oh! Oh! Miss! Is there any TV down here?"

"There isn't any yet, digital television might be added once we make sure it is possible to use down her and not disrupt the livelihood of the local wildlife" she answered. The attendant turned as they neared a large central building. "This is the Ocean Dive headquarters, inside you will be better informed about the city before having free reign of the city to explore"

In the very back of the monorail were Drakken and Shego along with Sasha and Draco all dressed to hide. Drakken held the sleeping twins while the attendant prattled on, "Oh great Kim Possible is here as well" he growled in a hushed tone, "Of course she'd be here"

Shego rolled her eyes, "Well it wouldn't really be easy you know. I mean Hello!? We have these two with us"

"Well sorry they are blacklisted on every babysitting website in existence" Drakken retorted, "They've got too much of us in them anyway. Besides we just need to be patient, as soon as they disperse we'll strike"

The monorail slowed in front of the headquarters. The doors whooshed open as the group followed the attendant into the headquarters. When inside a group of three men were waiting.

One, a smooth talking blond man walked up, "How are you all liking the city so far?" he asked beaming a smile, "I am Ryan Escar, one of the founding men for this technological feat we all stand in. Next to me is Vinnie, and Ezera, we're here to welcome you all to the grand opening of NeoAtlantis."

The next man, in a deep brown suit spoke up, "Yes as my colleague said we are responsible for creating what you see. My contribution is the dome, my group was experimenting what could be used as the dome. We found a way to smelt down diamonds into thin sheets near mirroring glass but the resistance level is much higher than even Plexiglas. As soon as we could make it, we found the best location to erect the city and, well the result speaks for itself"

"Exactly, Ezera" the third man commented, "We have some stores and such open and good to go if you would like to sight-see around the city. As of now the population is about 200 people in a area reserved for 30,000. Now – ah, Miss Kim possible, it is quite an honor to have an esteemed heroine come to our grand opening". He walked forward, "Thank you and your sidekick for saving the world from those nasty aliens a couple years back"

Kim blushed, "Oh it's no big, but I didn't do it alone it was so a major team effort and I don't feel right getting credit and they not. And you are...?"

"Oh I'm Vinnie, Vinnie Shields. Well we have a few maintenance runs to finish and would love if you'd come and talk with us"

"Well that can be done, I'm curious about the place anyway" she spoke.

They continued on to explain the areas of the city that were allowed for travel and where was still under constriction. The attendant gave everyone a map of Ocean Dive while safety precautions were being explained if there were to have anything happen.

"Now you have full reign of the walk-able areas, if you follow me we will go down to the food court. I know it was a long ride down here" the attendant spoke leading a group down to the doors.

"Kim, Kim! They have a Bueno Nacho here!" Ron said shaking her arm a little, "Me and Mags will be over in the food court if you need us"

Kim chuckled, "Sure go ahead. Just make sure to feed her too". Ron nodded and went to catch up with the leaving group, "And don't forget to change her diaper too" she reminded with a sigh.

She looked over the headquarters; there were employees on monitor taking note of the water pressure, power reserve, oxygen reserve and such. "Impressive" she mentioned looking around, "How long did it take to do all this?"

Vinnie spoke up, "About six years, but that is adding in pricing supplies,getting everything sown here, and paying people to work underwater... we got done pretty fast considering it should be a thirty year build.

"Aren't you afraid that you might of , oh, cut corners?" she questioned

Vinnie shrugged, "We had to make sure that the necessary stuff was up and running before making the buildings. We got more than enough for an initial population, Miss Possible with time to build around in the rest of the dome. It doesn't hurt giving a tour to respected scientists, ecologists, and celebrities to give the place some boost and hopefully get a starting population"

There was a loud groaning sound echoing from all around. "What was that?" she asked looking out the window. On the other side of the glass was a pod of whales passing by they dome. Their shadows passing by on the fledgling town.

"We could see having more marine biologists living here just for this experience" Vinnie added, "Living next to the natural world without hurting it; thinking of the future by learning from the past. A good word to live by, no?"

The young heroine looked up at the departing whales, "It is pretty solid so far"

Ron was in heaven. He was stuffing his face with nachos with one hand while feeding Maggie with the other. Rufus was sitting on the table diving right into his own set of nacos. "This is sweet. Nacos, a fan-fish-tastic view, a happy munchkin, and no villains". Rufus squeaked in agreement as he poured cheese into his mouth. Maggie was fiddling with a napkin

Nearby Drakken was working with sitting the twins at a table and giving them food, the two of course being a bit unruly. "Now, now Sasha, daddy needs you to be a good little girl and finish your food"

Sasha frowned, "I no like carrots"

He sighed, "Okay look just compromise with me here, it's gonna be a long day and I just want one thing to go as planned okay? Is that so much to ask?"

Ron turned around "Wha- Drakken!? What are you- no, wait... you're here to take over the underwater city aren't ya?"

Drakken turned to him then laughed manically , "That's right! Once I take over this puny little city and, if global warming continues on its course, mankind will have no choice other than to submit to me for sanctuary! And if you think you and that spunky Kim Possible are going to stop me then you are de-... is that a baby?"

Ron sighed, "Yeah well this is the Magster, she'll be chasing your devil duo as part of the next gen of crime!"

Drakken frowned, "Well I look forward to the roundabout game of cat and mouse these three will be going through"

Kim continued to explore around the main lobby, "I have to say Mr. Escar, this is really impressive. This could really change the world's view of the ocean. I mean look at that... while pretty dark out it does show a lot of pretty amazing sea life."

Ryan nodded, "We hope to bring great promise to the scientific world"

Sirens started to blare, the room flashing red.

"What's going on!?" Kim yelled over the noise

"It must be one of the oxygen conversion generators malfunctioning!" he tried to reason. The two ran towards the noise finding most of the workers passed out and Shego at the reins.

She turned off the alarms and chuckled, "For a 'revolutionary feat in science' you guys are seriously lacking in guards.

"Stooped so low as to steal bubbles, Shego?" Kim mocked

"Oh look whose here, on vacay Pumpkin?" she shot back

"No, no, no, you need to use the ones with aloe otherwise you'll be needing to treat one doosy of a diaper rash" Drakken instructed

"Okay so that makes sense, but why do babies puke up more than they eat? I mean no duh she eats like me but ..." he trailed

"I have no idea" he sighed, "Kids are a flipping mystery to me. Just baby proof everything and make sure nothing's within their reach and you'll live"

"Noted papa villain" Ron replied

There was a loud explosion nearby, a puff of smoke billowing out as everyone in the food court looked on.

"Looks like our cue to join in" Ron said getting up

"Are you crazy!? You can't go into battle with an infant!" Drakken reprimanded, "I- wh- I am highly questioning your competence, boy"

"We're at the bottom of an ocean in a giant bubble with only submarines as a way out if things go wrong, ya know today was not a day of good decisions for anybody. And knowing our history things will go from bad to worse if we're not there and I wanna live, man!" Ron prattled on.

"Fair point, they did leave us with the kids, might as well play the part we have" Drakken said picking up the twins.

"Back to hero-villain status, booyah!" Ron cheered as they ran off towards the facility.
