DISCLAIMER: I own nothing from the Naruto universe but I do have an imagination of my own. I got inspiration from the story ARVUM, but have changed some things and expanded on it a lot. I desperately tried to get permission to continue that story, etc., but received no responses to my inquiries, sadly. Just want to give credit where credit is due! PLEASE REVIEW MY CHAPTERS! I will take advice from readers while continuing my story.

Just as the Hatakes turned to leave, Izana-san spoke once more. "Congratulations again you two! You certainly make a beautiful young couple. I only look forward to the beautiful children you'll have someday soon!" Kakashi grabbed Naruto's arm as she tripped forward into the door. "One thing I'm sure of, between the two of you, your kids won't grow to be bald like me!" He said cheekily, not realizing that the couple in front of him drastically paled and struggled to walk steadily on to the street.

Kakashi and Naru walked away from the furniture store in silence. Why did he have to bring up kids?! Kakashi wasn't a kid person and never had been, and now… It was crippling his thoughts. Or they were until a wolf-whistle came from 3 o'clock. He growled out loud. More idiots were there, staring at the blonde by his side. He could sense Naruto's discomfort and that made him angrier. Oh, and so did the looks she was now getting from even some of the women that they passed. He noted that like some of the men he'd seen doing it, the women were giving her more of a leer than a stare. Very Anko-like. He shivered and pulled out Icha-Icha Paradise.

"That was my very first book, ya know?" Naruto didn't remember if that was still true in this life, but it had been in her last for sure. Kakashi stopped dead in his tracks and looked at her with disbelief. "No, really! I kind of learned to read with Icha-Icha. I'm more fond of Icha-Icha Violence than Paradise, but to each his own," she said with a small grin on her face. Looking down, she added, "I like it for the violence, and of course, also for the sex."

Holy shit. All Kakashi could bring himself to do was nod affirmatively at that information. Maybe this marriage thing could work out! He seemed to have married the only woman he'd ever even heard of that liked the series. Hmm. And that meant that she knew all kinds of interesting… No, no, don't go there brain. Too bad, his mind was already delving into the gutter. Kakashi cleared his throat. "So, do you want to stop and get something to eat?"

"Sure! Ramen?" Naru, asked, grabbing his hand and bouncing up and down in front of him.

Guess I'll have to get used to her doing that. Gods knew her parents were ramen fanatics. Kakashi considered the fact that if she ate ramen at the rate Minato-sensei and Kushina-nee did, they would actually have to budget their money to handle regular Uzumaki-Namikaze ramen feeding-frenzies. Thinking about those frenzies, maybe he could talk her into going somewhere else. After all, he didn't need to see her gorge herself on the stuff like her parents always did since it would be their first date and all. First date - ugh.

"Maa, I was thinking maybe barbecue?" Kakashi asked.

"Oh, okay; that's fine. I can have ramen later, but we're definitely going to Ichiraku's sometime soon, alright?" Kakashi gave her a quick nod. Naruto eventually realized that they were headed to the place Team 10 most often frequented in her past life and internally groaned. Kakashi obviously wouldn't know how much time she spent here at Yakiniku sometimes in henge - and she was concerned about all of the people that frequented the place seeing her with him. She'd been chastising herself for being a coward about going out in public, though, so she walked through the entryway following him without saying anything.

The couple sat in a booth across from one another, with Naruto covering her entire face and a good portion of her body with the menu. Gods she was nervous! She'd already spotted Choza Akimichi speaking to a party of four she thankfully didn't know across the restaurant. There were several other patrons in the restaurant, but it seemed to be slow right now, thankfully. She lowered the menu slightly and looked at her dining companion - her husband, EEK! Whoa… She was on a DATE! Kami-sama: I never thought it would happen to me!

"Your eyes are the size of saucers, Naruto. See something you like?" Kakashi asked.

Mmm, yes I do, Delicious-san, now that you mention it. Yikes - Shikamaru might be even more correct about her nature than she had really believed. Naruto shook her head to rid herself of her perverted thoughts. "Ano, I was thinking about how… Nah, it's embarrassing."

"Oh?" Kakashi asked, genuinely interested.

He'll tease me. "Well, it's just that… I'm not sure if you'd consider it as such, being that we're married and all," Naru began very quietly, leaning toward him, "but this is my like, first date." She couldn't stop the heat she felt in her face and knew that she must be blushing as red as a tomato.

Cute. "Maa, that's just sad Naruto," Kakashi said, watching her red face turn into a little scowl, which was still pretty cute. "But you know what's even sadder? It's my first date too."

"What? No way! I don't know if I believe you!" Kakashi just shrugged his shoulders. "Ah, so you're the love 'em and leave 'em type! Ditching them in the morning or whatever!" Naru responded.

If he'd have been drinking anything he would have spit it all over her and the table! He couldn't believe she said that! Not to mention I've ditched them all before morning. How Naruto was still looking at him for an answer with her big sparkly eyes he just didn't get! Weren't women disgusted with such things and jealous? He knew for a fact they were - but here sits his wife looking like she really wanted to know! It has to be a ploy to get information and then hammer me, the Hatake thought. "I don't know what you're talking about, Naru-chan."

She pursed her lips. She really wanted to know, maybe. Before she could further question him they were interrupted.

"Well look who we have here!" Choza exclaimed, being his loud, boisterous self. He looked at her with a big smile on his face that only faulted a bit as he looked at Kakashi. "How are you two doing, Naruto-chan? Kakashi-kun?" It was obvious from the look on the Akimichi Head's face - as much as he tried to hide it - that he wondered what she was doing there with her husband.

It was obvious now that he didn't know about the marriage, and Naruto could only imagine what he was thinking about her being there with a man that was supposedly 10 years older than her. Or maybe he was thinking the opposite - how he was there with a "younger girl." She blanched. On one hand, she thought that Shikaku-san would have told his two teammates about the marriage, but it was obvious he did not. On the other hand, the whole marriage was put together to protect her, so it made sense that it was a real secret. What a drag. Kami, she was spending way too much time with the Naras!

Choza quickly took their order, throwing her a questioning look as he walked away. She simply smiled at him, deciding to talk to Shikaku-san later tonight. A waitress brought the couple tea and as Naruto began to feel out of her depth a familiar voice rang out.

"Brat." She should have smelled him before hearing his voice. What was up with her sensory abilities? Must be nerves… I need to practice my awareness, all the time. "Smokestack-san," Naruto replied without looking behind her at the man. Kakashi choked back his laugh.

Asuma sighed deeply. Naruto really is a brat. Oh, he liked the girl very much - he'd even given her his old trench knives, the ones that he used when he was younger. And what was she doing here with The Cyclops? Who's putting the moves on who here? He knew that Kakashi was too lazy to actually put forth an effort with women - always waiting for them to come to him, the bastard - but this is his sensei's daughter, right? Then there was Trouble Incarnate: he immediately thought of that "sexy jutsu" of hers and sighed.

"Here on a date, Hatake-san?" asked Asuma's "companion," Kurenai Yuhi. She smirked at the Jonin then looked at his date, internally questioning who she was.

"I see you are," Kakashi replied, "here on a date I mean." Asuma shook his head, sputtering, and tried to ignore Naruto's muttered "Coward," as Kurenai blushed prettily. Asuma quickly proceeded to lead the genjutsu mistress away from their table. Kakashi and Naruto found themselves both snickering.

"So how do you know Asuma-kun?"

"Apparently he and I are the only wind-users in the country. Well, that's our primary affinities, ya know," Naruto replied.

"Impressive that you know that already - it's really something most learn after becoming Chunin."

Naruto smiled up at the silver-haired nin, unable to help the pride she felt at his compliment. He was the one, after all, that showed her what her affinity was in her first life. Not as impressive when I think of it that way. She took a drink of her tea to hide her grimace at the thought. "So did you learn yours after becoming chunin?"

Kakashi scratched the back of his head, feeling embarrassed. "Maa, I learned really young." At Naruto's questioning look, he continued, "I think I may have been maybe four?" Naruto snorted and he felt the need to explain. "But in my case I had my father to teach me, plus our primary lightning affinity is something Hatakes were known for."

Naruto noticed his discomfort at mentioning his family but was glad that he had shared that much with her, especially this early in their "relationship." She only knew so much about the man when it came to things like that because during her first lifetime, he was so closed-off. She hoped that fact was truly changing, but knew all too well not to expect much, especially now.

The rest of their meal was spent quietly talking about what Naruto would call ninja-things. She felt the day had gone well. No one else had bothered them and they made their way back to the Nara Compound without a hassle. Kakashi had not even taken out his book!

"Maa, I guess I'll see you soon, Naruto. A couple of days before everything gets finished from Izana-san, ne? See you then?"

"Hai," she replied. "I had fun with you today." She tried to will away her blush. Darting her eyes around, she leaned forward and kissed Kakashi's masked cheek right by his mouth. She turned and took off running while the copy-nin stood staring in her direction.

He reached up and felt where she had kissed him, smiling slightly. Hearing Naruto cackle joyfully as she ran through the Nara forest towards her current home, only one fond thought came to his mind. "My wife's such a little weirdo."
