Plumber Base: Medical Wing
Rushing down the halls of the Plumber base medical wing, Ben, Mina, Swift, Rook and a few other Plumber medical were with the injured red Necrofriggian that Ben had saved from Khyber. After defeating Khyber and his mutated beasts, Rook informed that the Necrofriggian had gone into critical condition and was slowly dying. Not wanting to lose them, Ben urgently got the Necrofriggian to the Plumber base because the technology there could help save the Necrofriggian's life.
"He is suffering from deep lacerations as well as broken bones and internal bleeding" Mina read from the charts as they put the Necrofriggian into a room
"We stitch up the lacerations but how will we stop the internal bleeding?" Rook asked
"I've never operated on a Necrofriggian so their biology is unknown to me other then what we have on record" Mina answered
"Ben, don't you know how the biology of Necrofriggian works?" Swift asked Ben
"The omnitrix only programs the instincts of the alien species into my brain not their biology and all that" Ben answered
"Great, so what are we going to do now?" Swift asked
"We'll do the best that we can" Mina answered
Placing the Necrofriggian in the medical room, Mina and the other Plumber medics took over while Ben, Swift and Rook took a back seat
"Benjamin my love, I need you to come here and help me" Mina said to Ben
"Sure thing" Ben said rushing over to Mina's side
"I need an alien who can help me keep his bones mended together" Mina told Ben
"What's wrong with his bones?" Ben asked
"Like we discussed earlier, he has multiple broken bones and everything I use to mend them freezes solid and shatters" Mina answered
"I don't think Spidermonkey's thread will work" Ben said
"Why don't you try something of a harder substance or material, something that can withstand flash freezing and other extreme temperatures" Rook suggested
"Metal could work or somethings else similar to it" Mina said
"I think I've got the perfect thing" Ben said activating the omnitrix
In a flash of green light, Ben transformed into Diamondhead
"Petrosapien crystal could work, they are of a similar strength to taydonite" Mina said looking at Ben
"I figured they'd work out good but now I just need to see where all of the bones are broken" Ben said
"Here are the x-rays and internal camera view" one the Plumber medics said showing Ben multiple screens
"multiple rib fractures, a few spinal fractures, he's got broken bones in his hands as well as his arms and legs" Mina said pointing out everything that needed to be mended to Ben
"He didn't get all of that from the fight, so what happened to him?" Swift asked looking at the screens
"Looking at all of these and seeing how they are repeat fractures, while I don't know what exactly happened, knowing his situation its quite obvious what mainly happened" Mina said
"Albedo tortured him" Ben said angered as he clenched his fist
"We will worry about that later once we save this Necrofriggian's life" Mina said speaking up
Ben returned his attention back to the dying Necrofriggian on the table. Looking at the monitors and what was on the screen Ben made his crystal fingers smaller so he could precisely navigate the inside of the Necrofriggian's body. Starting with the ribcage, Ben encased all of it in crystal before making the crystal shrink down and fill in the gaps between all of the broken ribs.
Ben encased each rib in a flat crystal so the Necrofriggian's insides would get cut up and cause even more damage. Next Ben moved onto the arms and legs of the Necrofriggian. He did the same process that he did with the rib cage before moving onto the spine.
"Benjamin, this is going to be the more dangerous part, because not to damage the nerves or he won't be able to walk or fly ever again" Mina warned Ben
"Don't worry, I will be as careful as I can" Ben said reassuring Mina
To work on the Necrofriggian's spine, Mina activated the zero gravity function of the medical bed. It slowly flipped the Necrofriggian over allowing Mina and the Plumber medics to cut down the spine of the Necrofriggian. Pulling the skin and flesh back allowed Ben access to work on the spine of the Necrofriggian and repair it.
"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" Ben said before he started to work on the Necrofriggian
"Ben, not funny!!!" Swift yelled
"Sorry, just trying to lighten the mood" Ben said apologizing
"Focus, then we'll lighten the mood" Mina said
"Got it, got it" Ben said as formed his fingers into scalpels
"F…Father" the Necrofriggian said faintly
"I thought he was supposed to be unconscious" Ben said stopping
"His body must have burned through the sedative" Mina said
"Father h…h…help" the Necrofriggian said
All of a sudden the monitors began to go off loudly as the heart rate of the Necrofriggian went up
"What's going on?" Swift asked
"His blood pressure is dropping and his heart rate is going up" Mina answered
"Patient is going into shock" one of the Plumber medics said
"We need to calm him down" Rook said
"I've got it" Ben said
Ben bent down and grabbed the hand on the Necrofriggian
"It's okay, I'm here, you can calm down now" Ben told the Necrofriggian in a calm voice
"Father?" The Necrofriggian asked looking around for Ben
"I'm right here, its okay" Ben said getting the Necrofriggian's attention
Seeing Ben there, the Necrofriggian began to slowly calm down as Mina began to insert a new stronger anesthesia into the Necrofriggian's body. Once Ben saw that the Necrofriggian was asleep and his vitals returned to normal he let go of the Necrofriggian's hand and returned to working on his spine.
"That should keep him asleep for now" Mina said
"What happened back there?" Ben asked
"His body adapted to the anesthesia I used and burned it away" Mina answered
"I always thought the internal organs of a Necrofriggian were constantly fluctuating" Rook said
"From what I am seeing, his body can switch from hot to cold consciously and subconsciously" Mina explained
"That explains the fire breath" Swift said
"He has evolved DNA inside of him along with the DNA of normal aliens, I don't know what Albedo and Psychobos did to him but it can't be good" Ben said
"Like I said once he is stable we can work on finding Albedo and making him pay for what he has done" Mina said
"I will make him pay" Ben said
Time Skip
Plumber Base: Medical Waiting Room
In the waiting room of the medical wing, Isis, Diana, Looma and Helen were waiting with the girls. All of them were nervously waiting for any news on the condition of the Necrofriggian. Eira and Lucia were hugging onto Diana and Looma as they waited.
"Do not worry pups, your father will save his life" Diana told the girls
"That brother of yours is a strong warrior, he will pull through this" Looma told them
Eunice walked into the waiting room getting everyone's attention
"Eunice, what is going on with him in there?" Isis asked Eunice
"Mina and the other doctors with help from Ben have gotten the Necrofriggian into a stable condition, he is asleep and will remain asleep until his body has regained its strength" Eunice answered
"You hear that pups? Your brother is alive" Diana said cheering the girls up
"He's okay" Lucia said
"I told you he was strong" Looma said patting Eira's head
"Can we and the pups go and see him?" Diana asked Eunice
"For now, we don't know how long his condition will remain stable" Eunice answered
"What does that mean mama Eunice?" Eira asked Eunice
Eunice bent down and picked Eira up so she could be eye level with her
"Well you see Eira, your papa and your mama Mina did a lot of things to fix your brother and make sure he everything wrong with him isn't anymore, you're brother is okay right now but there is a chance that what was done to him could not work and we'll have to find another way to help him" Eunice answered explaining to Eira what had happened to Necrofriggian and what could happen in the best way that she could
"Let's hope he stays okay" Eira said
"I'm sure he will, now let's go and see him" Eunice said
Time Skip
Plumber Base: Medical Wing Room 10
Eunice lead everyone to the room where the Necrofriggian was busy recovering while Ben and Swift watched over him while he slept. Eunice opened the door slowly quietly as everyone walked in to see Ben and Swift sitting down.
"Papa!!!" Both Eira and Lucia said as they ran towards Ben
"Hey there girls" Ben said as he bent down and hugged the girls
"My pharaoh" Isis said
"Hey there" Ben said hugging Isis and kissing her
"We worried about you both" Diana said
"It was really stressful" Ben said kissing Diana
"You and Mina did well so we've heard" Looma said looking over at the Necrofriggian sleeping on the hospital bed
"We did the best we could" Ben said
"He will live, I can sense a strong warrior's spirit in him" Looma said
"Let's hope Khyber doesn't come back for him" Swift said putting her hand on the scar Khyber's dagger left on her face
"Albedo escaped with him to wherever their secret hideout is, I don't think he and Albedo will be back for awhile" Ben said
"Have you and the other's been able to locate this secret hideout of theirs yet my mate?" Diana asked
"Unfortunately no, Rook and the others are doing all that they can to find him" Ben answered sitting down
"For all we know they could be in a ship half across the universe" Swift said
"That would explain them teleporting all the time" a voice said
Everyone looked at the door and saw Max walking in to the room with Helen
"GG!!!" The girls said running to give Max
"There are my two great granddaughters" Max said with a chuckle as he hugged Eira and Lucia
"Hey there grandpa" Ben said
"Looks like all of you have been through a lot" Max said looking at all of them
"You could say that again" Ben said
"Why don't I take the kids and let all of you adults get some rest" Max suggested
"I'm gonna stay here until he wakes up, you all can go" Ben said
"But papa" the girls said
"Girls, I think its best if we let your papa stay here" Isis said
"We'll head home" Diana said
"Call us if anything changes" Helen told Ben
"Don't worry, I will" Ben said with a smile on his face
"See you when you get home" Eira said
"Don't overwork yourself papa" Lucia said
"We love you my pharaoh" Isis said
"I love all of you too" Ben said
With that Eira and Lucia hugged Ben as he kissed them on the head goodbye. Ben hugged and kissed Isis, Diana, Eunice and Helen as well. Once they left it was just Ben, Swift and Max in the room with Necrofriggian.
"So this is Albedo's offspring?" Max asked looking at the Necrofriggian sleeping in the bed
"I wish it weren't the case but yes, he's the Necrofriggian offspring of Albedo" Ben said with a depressing sigh
"I saw the medical reports on him, they weren't that good" Max said sitting down next to Ben
"How could someone do all of this to their own child?" Ben asked leaning back in the chair
"Someone truly evil" Max answered
"I've read up on the reports of Albedo and none of them made him seem this cruel" Swift said
"He's a Galvan, their higher intelligence takes priority over feelings and emotion" Max said
"Look at Azmuth, he is smartest Galvan alive however he acted on his feelings trying to get his one true love back" Swift said
"But he didn't torture, abuse, experiment, do horrible and awful things to his child" Ben argued
"Maybe Albedo was always like that from the start? We will never know but now Ben you have to make a choice" Max said putting his hand on Ben's shoulder
"What choice?" Ben asked confused
"You saved him, he calls you father, are you going to take responsibility of him?" Max asked Ben giving him a serious look
Ben looked at the Necrofriggian and remembered what he has said to him, how he called him father and wanted to protect him. Albedo wasn't going to be his father and he already proved that to Ben. Ben remembered what the girls had said about the Necrofriggian. He was their brother and Ben was technically his father since Albedo was a genetic copy of Ben.
"We have an open room at the house, he doesn't have all that options and I can't leave him not after all I've done for him" Ben said
"I'll take that as a yes" Max said with a grin on his face
"F…Father?" A voice asked
Ben, Swift and Max looked over at the bed and saw the Necrofriggian slowly trying to get up out of the bed
"Take it easy there, don't get up" Ben said rushing over to stop the Necrofriggian from getting up
"Father" the Necrofriggian said
"I'm right here, don't worry about anything else" Ben said calming the Necrofriggian down
"Hunter…where?" The Necrofriggian asked looking around in the room in a panic
"Don't worry about Khyber, he's gone now, you're safe" Ben said
The Necrofriggian grabbed Ben's arm, he could feel both the cold and the warmth coming from the Necrofriggian's touch
"Wh..Who them?" The Necrofriggian asked pointing at Max and Swift
"This is Swift, she's a very good friend of mine and someone I trust dearly" Ben said introducing Swift to the Necrofriggian
Ben then introduced Max to the Necrofriggian
"This is my grandpa Max, he's my grandfather and since you are my son that means he's your great grandfather" Ben said to the Necrofriggian
"S..Sw…Swift" the Necrofriggian managed to say pointing at Swift
The Necrofriggian then turned and pointed at Max
"Gr…Grandfather" the Necrofriggian said
"You've got the hang of it, just don't push yourself" Max said walking towards the Necrofriggian
Immediately the Necrofriggian tried to have his wings wrap around his body but the pain stopped him from doing that so he instead grabbed the blankets and pulled them over himself, cowering
"No…No pain, no h…hurt" the Necrofriggian said in fear
"Don't worry, none of us are going to hurt you" Ben said trying to reassure the Necrofriggian
Pulling the blankets down, the Necrofriggian looked at Ben, Swift and Max and saw them smiling at him
"No one is ever going to hurt you again" Ben told the Necrofriggian
"We won't let anything happen to you" Swift said
Hearing that the Necrofriggian began to relax and calm down, letting go of the blanket and laying down slowly
"Much better" Max said with a smile
"Do you have a name?" Swift asked the Necrofriggian
"Name?" The Necrofriggian asked confused
"Looks like he doesn't know what that is" Max said
"Then he probably doesn't have one" Swift said
"Name, wh..what is it?" The Necrofriggian asked Ben
"A name is something you are given when you are born, its what someone calls you by, it can describe the kind of person you are and it goes with you wherever you go" Ben answered trying his best to explain what a name was to the Necrofriggian
The Necrofriggian had a confused look on his face after Ben gave his explanation
"What did someone call you?" Swift asked the Necrofriggian
"Called me F…Failure, Exp…Experiment, Useless" the Necrofriggian answered
"Those aren't names, those are bad things to call someone" Max told the Necrofriggian
"Bad?" The Necrofriggian asked confused
"What they called you was bad, those things aren't your name" Ben said holding the Necrofriggian's hand
"What…what m…my name?" the Necrofriggian asked Ben
Ben was surprised the Necrofriggian asked him that but then again he gave the girl's their names
"Do you want a name?" Ben asked the Necrofriggian
"Yes" the Necrofriggian answered shaking his head
"Okay then, I guess I can give you one" Ben said
Giving names to the girls were easy, they had that parental connection with Ben and he knew the kinds of names with unique meanings that would fit them perfectly. This Necrofriggian was different then the girls. Ben didn't know who he was or what he had gone through. Ben didn't want to give his new son a name that was ordinary and nothing special about it. Digging deep for this one, Ben thought long and hard about kind of name he could give his son.
"Rhys, you're name is Rhys" Ben said giving the Necrofriggian his name
"Rhys" the Necrofriggian said looking at his hands, repeating his name
"What does it mean?" Swift asked
"Fire, the flame, the guiding light, fitting for this guy here" Ben answered
"Looking at the kid it fits him perfectly" Max said
"My name is Rhys" Rhys said saying his name
"Ben I think we need to talk, its very important" a voice said
Mina walked into the room and saw everyone in there
"Maxwell, Emily, surprised to see both you here" Mina said
"Hey there Mina, what did you need to talk to me about?" Ben asked Mina
"It's about our Necrofriggian patient over there" Mina answered looking towards Rhys
"My name is Rhys" Rhys said telling Mina his name
"I see, fire and flames as well as a guiding light, Ben you have a good sense of naming" Mina said complimenting Ben
"It's kinda my thing" Ben said trying to act cool
"Tell that to your aliens" Swift said
"Whatever" Ben said
"Can we please get back to the matter at hand?" Mina asked changing the subject
"Sure Mina" Ben answered
"You can tell us what is going on Mina dear" Max said
"It's the results on Rhys here" Mina said looking at her tablet
"What's going on with him?" Ben asked
"What wrong with me?" Rhys asked
"All of his internal injuries have healed and the crystals keeping his bones together are stable and aren't showing any signs of breaking, in time his body will adapt the crystals will either fuse with his body or his bones will heal causing the crystals to shatter" Mina answered
"What do we do if that happens?" Ben asked
"There's nothing we really can do, if it is the case and that happens they will fall out of his body the next time he goes intangible" Mina answered
"That good?" Rhys asked
"Yes, that is good that means you'll be alright" Ben answered
"I wish that were the case" Mina said
"What do you mean Mina?" Ben asked
"I ran some tests on his DNA and his cell structure to see if he was like the girls and unfortunately his case is worse" Mina answered
"What does that mean?" Swift asked
"Rhys's body is deteriorating, his DNA is unstable, his body is slowly dying" Mina answered
"It happened with the girls, the omnitrix they were stabilized it until Azmuth completely fixed the problem" Ben explained
"I was hoping this would never happen, that this would be the last time I deal with this but my good for nothing ex assistant is always causing problems" a voice said
Everyone turned around and saw Azmuth walking into the room
"Azmuth you came" Ben said
"Your lovely Vladat wife to be informed me of what happened once she found the problem" Azmuth answered
"Hello there Azmuth" Mina said
"Hello my dear, is this him?" Azmuth asked Mina pointing towards Rhys
"Yes, this is his him" Mina answered picking Azmuth up and placing him on the hospital bed
"My name is Rhys" Rhys said telling Azmuth his name
"I'm sure it is" Azmuth said as he moved the blanket off of Rhys revealing his scared chest
"What are you going to do Azmuth?" Ben asked
"I am going to have to implant an omnitrix directly in his heart, his mutation and deterioration is far worse then the girl's" Azmuth answered
"Are you going to cut him open again?" Swift asked
Hearing that Rhys began to panic
"No pain" Rhys said afraid
"Calm down Rhys, it will be okay" Ben said grabbing Rhys's arm
"You won't feel anything so do not worry" Azmuth told Rhys
Rhys slowly began to calm down as Azmuth took out an omnitrix badge and placed it on his chest. Right away the omnitrix badge dug down into Rhys's skin and stopped. The outer ring of the badge slowly morphed into something that could move before it turned into a dial and spun around. Once it stopped, Azmuth jumped off of the hospital bed and landed on the floor.
"There it is done now" Azmuth said
"What just happened?" Ben asked
"The omnitrix core has formed a connection to his heart and is slowly fixing his DNA and stabilizing his body into a more healthier form" Azmuth answered
"Will he still look like that?" Swift asked
"Unfortunately his Necrofriggian form will be like that forever, who knows what his other forms will look like if Ben so chooses to give him forms" Azmuth answered
"I think we're gonna hold off on that" Ben said
"Does he have a human form Azmuth?" Max asked
"He does and unlike with the girls his omnitrix is slowly making his body the right age and switching his main form to his human form" Azmuth answered, explaining what was happening to Rhys
"I can be human?" Rhys asked
"Yes you can, all you have to do is hit that dial" Azmuth answered
Rhys looked down at the dial on his chest and hit it like Azmuth told him to. In a flash of golden light Rhys transformed into his human form for the first time. Once the light faded away, Rhys laid there in the hospital bed in his human form. He looked like a younger 15 year old Ben but had long messy hair. His hair was red mixed a gold color with a silver streak running down one his bangs. Rhys's eyes were crimson red, he had a bit more paler skin with muscle. All over his body was scars. Some were clearly from his surgery while others were from the torture he suffered.
"This is me?" Rhys asked looking at himself
"Yep, that's you son" Ben answered
"Spitting image of his father" Max said
Rhys looked at the badge on his chest and how it glowed a bright golden color instead of green
"Once I make a new holding device and it does what it needs to, I'll be able to move the dial to your wrist like your father and sisters" Azmuth said
"Thank you Azmuth" Ben said
"Don't thank me Tennyson, I'm just cleaning up another one of my ex assistant's messes" Azmuth replied before he teleported out of the room
"Now what happens?" Rhys asked
"I'm gonna get you some clothes and take you home" Ben answered
"Hey uh Ben there's something I need to talk to you about" Swift said getting Ben's attention
"Yeah Emily, what is it?" Ben asked
"You know how my place got destroyed and all that?" Swift asked rubbing the back of her head
"Yeah, I remember, I was there when it happened" Ben answered confused
"That's the thing you see" Swift said
"Come on Emily, you can tell me whatever, it won't bother me" Ben said
"I need a place to stay Ben and I was wondering if I could stay at your place?" Swift asked Ben
"Wait, you need a place to stay? That isn't a problem with me but I don't know about the others" Ben said
Swift looked over at Mina who was standing there
"It isn't a problem with me but I would ask the others first" Mina said
"I'll go call and ask them" Ben said
"Thank you Ben" Swift said hugging Ben and giving him a kiss on the cheek
Ben blushed having Swift kiss him on the cheek out of nowhere like that. Ben slowly looked over at Mina who watched as Swift was hugging him and gave him a kiss.
"What's wrong with father?" Rhys asked
"Your father just found himself in another particular situation again" Mina answered with a grin on her face
A/N: And there you have it readers, I new chapter after a long hiatus. Sorry it took me so long to get a chapter out and update this story but a lot has happened in my life. I needed to work things out and get some stuff in order. Luckily this is a start of a new year and I plan on finishing this story as well as my others so I can move onto different projects.
So I hope all of you readers enjoyed this chapter and are ready for what is coming in the next chapter. So Ben's new son Rhys has been introduced and you'll get to see him grow as a character with future chapters. You'll get to find out about Rhys's transformations in a future chapter.
