I was in the dining area with Kari, who was eating breakfast while watching TV. I blankly stared at the television screen while the news was on. I could not get the scene that happened last night out of my head. I looked at my hand; then, at the TV.

"Tai, is everything alright," my mother said. "You've barely touched your meal."

"I'm okay, mom. Honest," I replied.

"Do you need to see a doctor after hitting your head," my mom asked.

"That was you last night," Kari asked. "What were you even doing?"

"I was just going to the bathroom," I answered.

"And you tripped on your way back," Kari replied. "That's so lame."

"Cut me some slack," I said.

"In other news, another riot has occurred in the Tokyo Metropolis," the news reporter said. "Once again, it was in the Minato ward. This time, it was at Tamachi's shopping district. Similar to the Shimbashi incident, several stores were damaged…."

"Tamachi," Kari repeated. "That's where Ken lives."

"And the attack is closer than before," I added.

"I hope he's okay," Kari said.

"Everyone's been getting restless since yesterday," my mom said. "I do hope those riots stop. It's bothering the psyche of all the seniors and parents. You guys should come back home as soon as school is over, you hear? I don't want to see either of you caught in any of the rioting acts."

"Okay," Kari replied.

"Got it," I said.

I continued to stare blankly at the news as it talked about the weather forecast.

Episode 2

As I was heading up to my homeroom, I noticed that Yolei was standing in front of her shoe locker, blankly staring at it and not moving a muscle.

"Is everything okay," I asked, walking up to her.

"Oh, Kamiya-senpai, good morning," Yolei replied.

"Hey, just because we're in the same school, doesn't mean you have to keep up with the formalities. It makes us feel very distant. Just call me like you normally would."

"Oh, okay then, Kamiya-san."

"Close enough. Anyway, I didn't startle you or anything, did I?"

"No, not at all."

"Are you worried about something?"

"No, not really. Well, actually, I am."

"Is it about Ken?"

"How did you know? Was it so obvious?"

"Well, it was in the news this morning. I can understand why you would be worried about him. I'm sure he's safe and sound. Have you been in contact with him yet?"

"When I saw the news this morning, I texted him to make sure that everything was okay; however, I haven't gotten a response from him since. That's what's been making me so worried."

"Ken's a tough guy, despite his appearance. The four of you managed to recover well since that incident from last year. If you guys managed to survive that, I'm sure you'll be able to go through anything. Have faith in your companions, and believe in their strength."

"Yeah, I'll do that. Thank you, Kamiya-san. You've put my mind at ease."

"Don't mention it; glad I could help."

"You're a lot more thoughtful than I thought. You're nothing like how Sora described you."

"What did she say about me this time?"

"She said that you were stubborn, childish, and easily agitated. You think before you act, get into danger more often than not, and have tunnel vision."

"I can neither confirm nor deny any of those statements."

"But…."

"But what?"

"No, nothing."

"Hey, you can't just leave me hanging like that. You've gotten me curious."

"I'll leave that up to your imagination."

"That's not fair."

"A woman's heart isn't meant to be fair."

"What does that even mean?"

"See you later, Kamiya-san."

"Hey, get back here. You've still got some explaining to do."

I looked on as Yolei left for her homeroom. I sighed. I'm really not as good with reading women's thoughts as I would like to be. Nevertheless, I headed over to my homeroom, thinking about what Yolei was going to say.

Once classes were over, everyone started to pack up and head towards their next destination. Sora, Matt, and I chose to stay in. We waited until Mimi and Izzy showed up and congregated at my desk.

"Hey, everyone," Mimi said.

"Are we all here," Izzy asked.

"Everyone's accounted for," Sora replied.

"It's raining again," I sighed.

"Stop worrying about that and focus," Matt said.

"So, did you guys see that TV show last light," Sora asked.

"Yeah, I did; it was beyond freaky," Mimi said. "The TV was off, but something came on."

"It was also very yellow, so it was hard to tell exactly what was going on," Sora added. "But, I did see something moving on screen. What about you, Matt? Did you see anything?"

"Matt, you're sweating buckets again," I said.

"Don't tell me," Sora said.

"You didn't really see it, did you," Mimi asked.

"No, I just… I mean, I was going to watch it, but… I fell asleep," Matt replied.

"Right, you fell asleep. Okay," Sora said.

"Come on, it's true," Matt quickly said.

"Really, Matt, you act cool, but you're such a kid when it comes to this stuff," Mimi said.

"Hey, quit it," Matt said. "I can't help it. Scary stuff is scary."

"Moving along, I also saw something on the television screen as well, but that wasn't the only thing that I've found. Take a look at this," Izzy said, showing us his computer.

"What are we supposed to be looking at," I asked.

"Well, this was what the Digital World was like at 11:00pm yesterday," Izzy explained. "Watch what happens during the time lapse from now until about 1:00am today."

"Are those… distortions," I asked.

"Yes, and they started appearing in the Digital World at around the same time as the TV show that aired tonight," Izzy continued.

"No way," Mimi said.

"This can't just be a coincidence anymore," Sora said.

"I agree," Izzy commented. "I also took a deeper look at the police report from the incident at Shimbashi. If what happened last night matched what happened at Shimbashi, then that means that these 'riots' that occurred the past two days might actually be from Digimon."

"You mean, the riot, the mystery show, and the distortions in the Digital World happened all at the same time," Matt asked.

"So, does that mean that the distortions in the Digital World are sending the Digimon out into the real world, and they're using the fog as cover for their rampage all over town," Sora questioned.

"But wait, if that's true, how do they return to the Digital World? If they were running amok, how would they be able to relocate where they came from to return to the Digital World," Mimi asked.

"It's possible that there are other Digimon that were trying to prevent them from causing any more harm in the Real World," Izzy answered. "Remember that time when Ogremon came to the real world, but Leomon brought him back into the Digital World via the distortions? There could be something like that happening within the fog as well."

"Tai, what's on your mind," Matt asked.

"Izzy, Sora, Mimi, when you guys saw that mysterious channel, did you see anything else other than those creatures walking about in that other world," I said.

"Yeah, but the screen was very saturated, so I couldn't make anything out of it," Sora replied.

"Why do you ask," Mimi questioned.

"When I saw that show… ugh, it's getting confusing to call it a bunch of different names. Let's just refer to it as the 'Midnight Channel' so we don't confuse each other," I said. "When I saw the Midnight Channel, I saw something akin to the distortions that looked similar in size as those that were shown on Izzy's computer."

"No way, you were able to see more from the Midnight Channel," Sora asked.

"What else did you see," Izzy inquired.

"I saw something come out of those distortions and fall down to that television world," I answered.

"Like what," Mimi asked.

"I'm not quite sure. It was too difficult to tell," I anwered. "However, what I did see was those things and the creatures of that world fighting against each other."

"Fighting? As in, they were engaged in battle and everything," Sora asked.

"That's interesting," Izzy said. "The data I got from the Digital World suggested that the Digimon became restless when those distortions appeared. I was under the impression that it was because they became confused as they entered our world. I would have never imagined that it was because they were actually fighting against something."

"Which is why I think that what we saw on the Midnight Channel was actually the Digital World," I concluded.

"Since your story matches with Izzy's data, it must be true," Sora said.

"So that's why that placed looked so familiar, even though it was hard to see," Mimi replied.

"But that poses a whole set of questions. Why is the Digital World being shown on TV? What are those other creatures? Where did they come from? Who is filming all of this," Matt inquired.

"I don't know, but I think I know a way for us to know for sure," I said.

"You're not suggesting what I think you're suggesting, are you," Izzy asked.

"I say we do a stakeout at the shopping district," I stated.

"Where, in Shimbashi," Sora questioned. "But that's a thirty-minute train ride from here, and Tamachi is forty-minutes away from us. And even if we do go there, the train stations are closed at midnight, so there'd be no proper way to get back home without our parents getting suspicious of us."

"I think Tai's suggesting that we do an investigation at Odaiba's shopping district," Izzy said.

"Why? Nothing's happened there yet," Mimi said.

"Exactly, which is why there's a good chance that the so-called riot would be coming in our direction next," I replied.

"But, most of these riots are happening in the Minato ward," Sora said. "We're close to both of the recent attacks, but what are the chances that it will move to a different ward?"

"There's no guarantee, but I have a gut feeling that the attack will come here next," Tai said.

"Then, it's settled. Let's head over to the shopping district later tonight," Matt said.

"Wait, so, first, you get all scared from all the rumors surrounding the Midnight Channel, but you are okay with doing a stakeout in the middle of the night," Mimi asked.

"It's different now that I know that it might be the Digital World," Matt said. "And if those Digimon and the things that Tai saw are what's causing this mess in the Real World, then it is our job to make sure that the damage is contained and doesn't affect any of the people's lives."

"Look at you, acting all tough and mighty. Good for you," Sora said.

"Did you just praise and insult me at the same time," Matt asked.

"That's just your imagination," Sora replied.

"Okay, then, if everyone's in agreement, let's meet up at my office at around 11:30pm so we can set everything up. Once we're all good to go, we'll head over to the shopping district together. I'd rather we meet here than rendezvous at the shopping district at separate times, as we don't know for sure what exactly we are getting ourselves into with the fog, the riots, and the potential conflict between the Digital World and whatever it was that Tai saw from the distortions," Izzy explained.

"Sounds like a plan," I said.

"Okay, let's do this," Matt said.

"Yeah, we totally got this," Mimi said.

"As long as we stick together, we'll be okay," Sora replied.

"By the way, should we tell TK, Kari, and the others about this," Matt asked. "Inoue-san is in the same school as us, and everyone else is at TK's school. Should we bring the whole gang over?"

"Not right now," I said. "If it was just about the Digital World, I would bring them with us. But because it might be something much more than that, having a small group investigate the situation is better. That way, if anything were to happen to us, I know that there are others who will be able to help us when we are down. Just like how we were able to help them when they disappeared, they will be able to assist us, because, collectively, we are the DigiDestined."

"I understand," Matt said.

"I'm with you every step of the way," Sora said.

"I'm sure everything will be okay," Mimi said.

"Great, let's meet again later tonight and prepare for the stakeout," Izzy said.

Later that night, I checked to make sure that everyone was asleep before heading out of the house. With my Digivice and Izzy's goggles in hand, I headed over to Izzy's office. When I arrived there, I saw Sora and Matt sitting on the couches while Izzy was working on his computer.

"Hey, guys, am I the last one," I asked.

"No, Mimi still hasn't shown up yet," Matt answered.

"I already sent Mimi a text. She said she's on her way," Sora added.

"That's good to hear," I said. "I'm glad it stopped raining. It would be a pain to hold a stakeout when it is pouring. I'd hate to be out in the dark and wet at the same time."

"Want something to eat," Sora said, handing me a rice ball.

"Great, thanks," I said, sitting down on the couch and taking up her offer.

"There's more in the bag," Sora said. "I bought them at the convenient store on my way here. They're all in different flavors, so grab whatever you want. We can't prepare for anything if our stomachs are empty."

"You're always so thoughtful. I knew I can count on you when it comes to these things," I said.

"Speaking of being thoughtful, I see you didn't bring anything at all," Sora said.

"Hey, it's not like Matt brought anything with him," I said.

"Actually, I did," Matt said, taking out his bag.

"What's that," I asked.

"Flashlights and extra batteries," Matt answered.

"Are you that scared," Sora asked.

"I already told you that I'm not," Matt answered. "They're just precautionary items; that's all. We don't know what to expect, and it is dark outside, so we might as well have some extra light in case something happens."

"It's not like we're policemen or security guards or anything," I said.

"Besides, the whole district is covered in streetlights, so I don't think we'll need those anytime soon," Sora said.

"I said they're precautionary," Matt repeated.

"What did you bring, Izzy," I asked, trying to look over his desktop.

"There's caffeinated and decaffeinated barley tea in the mini-fridge," Izzy said. "Grab whatever you want, and take as much as you want."

"Am I really the only one who didn't bring anything," I asked.

"I mean, we expected as much," Sora said.

"You either rush in headfirst, or do nothing at all. It's not a surprise anymore," Matt added.

"He's got a point," Izzy stated.

"Keep quiet, Izzy, and focus on the Digital World," I said.

"Sorry for the wait. Here I am," Mimi said.

"Mimi, we were wondering when you would…," Sora said.

The four of us stared in silence at Mimi's outlandish outfit.

"Mimi, why are you wearing a headband with unlit candles on it," Sora asked.

"What's with all the prayer beads around your neck," Matt said.

"Why is your backpack so full of stuff," Izzy asked.

"You look like a ghost with the white robe and everything," I said.

"I'm just bringing everything that we might need for the stakeout," Mimi said.

She dropped the bag onto the floor, which made a heavy thud.

"Look, I brought some playing cards, a cootie catcher, a mini checker board," Mimi said.

"Mimi, we're not here to play games," Matt said.

"What, you think I'm not taking this seriously," Mimi asked. "I brought important things with me, too. I have some tarot cards, a crystal ball, and an Ouija board."

"Mimi, we're not going to be talking to spirits or exorcising anything," Sora said.

"But, what about this ghost trap that I brought with me," Mimi asked.

"Isn't that device used in that really old ghost-hunting movie," I said. "Where did you even get that? Did you find it at some toy shop?"

"It's not a toy. It's the real deal," Mimi said.

"It definitely looks like a toy," Matt said.

"Mimi, please put that costume away. You're going to trip over yourself while walking to the shopping district," Sora said.

"Aw, but it took me a long time to pick this out, put it on, and wear makeup to match with it," Mimi said.

"You're even wearing the wooden geta," Tai said.

"That's just going overboard," Matt said.

"Your feet are going to hurt if you walk on those for a long time," Sora said.

"Izzy, is something wrong," Tai asked.

"You haven't said anything about her outfit since she arrived," Matt said.

"W-Well… I…" Izzy stuttered, trying to find the words to say.

Mimi quickly walked over to Izzy.

"Izzy, it's okay if I wear this, right," Mimi asked, crouching towards him, making a cute pose, and looking at him with puppy eyes.

"I… I… I… guess," Izzy cracked, trying to look the other way.

"Yay, Izzy said it's okay, so I'm going to wear it," Mimi said, spinning around.

"No, you're not. You're coming with me to the bathroom and changing into more comfortable clothes," Sora said, grabbing Mimi by the back of her outfit and heading towards the door.

"Sora, you're so mean," Mimi said. "Tai, Matt, you'll say something, won't you?"

Matt and I looked away from her.

"You guys are meanies," Mimi said. "Izzy, say something to her. Izzy!"

Before Izzy could say anything, the door closed. Matt and I turned to him, who blushed profusely and quickly went back to his computer. The two of us sighed.

After Mimi was done changing, the five of us headed towards the shopping district.

"Mimi, stop pouting. You'll thank us later," Sora consoled.

"Not only did you make me waste hours of hard work, you also made me leave my entire bag behind," Mimi sulked.

"Well, what you are wearing underneath the white robe is just as spooky," I said.

"Yeah, you got that weird ghost picture on your shirt. It's very scary," Matt said.

"I sense sarcasm in your statement," Mimi pouted.

"I think that ghost is from an arcade game, but I don't remember off the top of my head," I said.

"And I really like your torn black jeans. It matches your shirt very well," Sora said. "I can tell that you really put a lot of thought into your outfit. Isn't that right, Izzy?"

"Huh? I mean, yeah. You look good, Mimi," Izzy said.

"Well, I'm glad that there are some people who appreciate the finer details in life," Mimi said.

"Looks like her mood turned for the better," I said.

"Hey, guys, we're here," Matt said.

We stopped to take a look at our surroundings. Sure enough, we were at the shopping district, which held a large array of items from food and clothing to electronics and real estate. As expected, the area was quiet, with no one in sight.

"If the last two patterns of attacks are correct, my guess is that, whatever is coming out of the distortions that are connecting us and the Digital World, it will appear near the electronics store and other electrical devices," Izzy said.

"If I remember correctly, the electronics street is about a few blocks down from here," Sora said.

"Then, that is where we will have our stakeout," I said. "Izzy, what's our time?"

"About ten minutes until midnight," Izzy answered.

"That's pretty close," Matt said.

"Remember to stick together, no matter what happens," Sora said.

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask this, but does it always get this foggy after the rain," Mimi asked.

"I don't know about fog, but doesn't it usually get a little misty after the rain," Sora said.

"A fog is basically how water molecules condenses or evaporates into the air," Izzy explained. "It is not that uncommon to spot some sort of haziness after the rain."

"What's wrong, Matt? You look freaked out," I asked.

"Are you getting cold feet now," Sora inquired.

"Didn't you just say that, because it involved the Digital World, you wouldn't be afraid of anything," Mimi teased.

"Hey, I'm not scared of the Digital World. This sudden talk about fog is starting to creep me out," Matt said.

"Maybe I should have brought my bag with me," Mimi said.

"We are not going back to Izzy's office just to get your bag," Sora said.

"But what about that shadowy figure that's about to touch Matt's shoulder," Mimi said.

Matt quickly turned around, only to find no one there. Mimi laughed out loud.

"Mimi, I'm going to get you for that," Matt said.

"You're so cute when you're scared, Matt," Mimi said, running away from him.

"Get back here," Matt said, chasing after her.

"Mimi, Matt, we have to stick together," Sora said, running after them.

"We should go after them," I said to Izzy.

"Yeah, but the electronics area is not that far away, so I would rather take my time than chase after them," Izzy said.

"Good point. We are going to need to converse our energy should things take a turn for the worse," I said.

Once we arrived at the electronic portion of the shopping district, we stood at strategic locations suggested by Izzy. We took our time surveying the area while we were at our posts. Izzy gave us a countdown whenever we were approaching midnight. As soon as Izzy claimed that it was midnight, all of us were on high alert, attempting to spot anything that looked suspicious. I quickly put the goggles on to search for any visible distortions. I did not see anything out of the ordinary. After a few seconds of silence, a trash can fell over, which made Mimi scream and lose her balance.

"Mimi, are you okay," Izzy said, running over to her with his computer in hand.

"Yeah, I'm okay," Mimi replied.

A black cat meowed as it ran away from us.

"Phew, it was just a cat," Matt sighed.

"Well, thank goodness nothing too dangerous happened," Sora said.

"Yeah, we should probably call it a…," I started saying.

Suddenly, all the television and computer screens inside the electronic stores started to turn on. They all showed the same yellow image that appeared last night. Immediately, my head started throbbing, as though a jackhammer was drilling through my skull and into my brain. My ears rang loudly, as though several alarm clocks were on at the same time. I groveled to the floor.

"Tai," Matt said, running over to me.

"Tai, are you okay? What happened," Sora asked, also running towards me.

"This isn't good. Let's get out of here before things get worse," Matt said.

"R-Right," Izzy said.

Izzy was about to get up and head towards us, but a large, dense fog suddenly swept through the area, covering the entire shopping district.

"Tai, Matt, Sora, Mimi, where did you go," Izzy shouted.

"Izzy, where are you? Izzy, I can't see you," Mimi screamed.

"Izzy, Mimi, stay where you are; don't move," Sora cried. "As long as we can hear each other, we'll be okay. Everything's going to be okay."

"Why now? Why, of all times, does it have to be now," Matt asked.

Suddenly, it felt as though we were not alone. Matt, Sora, Izzy, and Mimi nervously looked around, wondering what was approaching us. Several blobs of black slime seeped out from the ground, eventually becoming a floating ball with a large mouth and a long, drooling tongue. They may not have eyes, but we can tell it was looking directly at each of us.

"W-What are those things," Matt asked.

"N-No, don't come near us," Sora yelled.

"What's happening? This is way beyond anything I predicted," Izzy said.

"I-I can't feel my legs. I'm too scared to move," Mimi cried.

Those blobs immediately started charging at us. We braced ourselves. During this time, Izzy's laptop screen also started to phase in and out, eventually becoming the same yellow screen as the ones on TV. All of a sudden, a distortion appeared in front of the laptop as well as some of the television and computer screens in the store. Several Digimon appeared from these distortions and began attacking those giant blobs. A fierce battle ensued between the Digimon and the blobs, creating collateral damage throughout the shopping district.

"I don't believe what I'm seeing," Izzy said.

"They really are fighting each other," Sora said.

"So this is the cause of all those destroyed stores," Matt said.

"Yeah, but what exactly are those things that the Digimon are fighting against," Mimi asked.

At one point, it seemed as though the Digimon were winning. However, the blobs attempted to merge itself with one of the weakened Digimon. Eventually, the blobs successfully fused with the Digimon, creating a vile creature with a large mouth in the center of its body and two large mouths as hands. The fused Digimon began mauling and gnawing at all the remaining Digimon. Many became frightened and started to run away, returning to the Digital World via the distortions. The fused Digimon howled, and more floating mouths seeped out from the ground.

"No way," Matt said.

"The Digimon lost," Izzy questioned.

"This can't be happening," Sora said.

"No more; I can't take this anymore," Mimi cried.

The fused Digimon and the blobs focused their attention to Mimi.

"Mimi," I said.

"Tai, what's wrong," Matt asked.

"That thing… it's going after Mimi," I replied.

"Wait, you can tell," Sora asked.

"This is bad," Matt said, taking out his Digivice. "Gabumon, come out!"

Nothing happened.

"Biyomon, help us," Sora shouted, taking out her Digivice.

Again, nothing happened.

"What's going on," Matt asked. "Why is nothing working?"

"Can they not hear us," Sora question. "They didn't abandon us, did they?"

"Mimi," Izzy shouted. "Get out of there, now! Ugh, why can't I see anything through this fog?"

"I… I can't move," Mimi stuttered. "My legs won't move."

The blobs crept closer to her, eventually surrounding her.

"No, please no. I don't want to die. Not like this," Mimi said.

The fused Digimon gave the command, and the blobs rushed Mimi. Mimi screamed.

"MIMI," I shouted.

What's the matter? Are you simply going to watch? Death awaits her if you do nothing.

No. I don't want her to die. I want power. Power to stop this madness. Power to save everyone.

The time has finally come. I have heeded your resolve. I am thou, thou art I. Call forth the one that gave thee the courage to stand on thine own two feet! Convert thy feelings into strength, and take back what is rightfully yours! Open thy eyes, and call forth what is within!

A large blue circle appeared beneath me. The blobs stopped charging towards Mimi and turned towards me.

"Huh? They stopped moving," Mimi said.

"Wait, what's that blue light over there," Izzy questioned.

A picturesque card with the number eleven appeared in front of me. As I reached out for the card, I thought about the one person, the one friend that I wanted to see more than anybody else, the one that I can always count on to clear my head and set me straight.

"PERSONA," I shouted.

I clenched the card as hard as I could, with all of my feelings put into it. The card shattered like glass and coating itself and me with an orange flame. When the flames receded, I donned a new outfit: an orange soccer jersey with the Crest of Courage in front and the number "11" on the back, blue running shorts with three orange triangles on each side pointing up, orange goalie gloves, and blue cleats with orange lines. The goggles I wore became a brown mask with three horns. I was also stepping on an orange soccer ball with the Crest of Courage decorated all over it. The card converted into a small orange dinosaur, a friend I knew all too well.

"Tai, it's really you," Agumon said.

"Great to have you back, Agumon," I replied.

"Wait, you managed to call out Agumon," Matt asked.

"And what's with the new set of clothes? When did you change," Sora inquire.

The blobs realized that Agumon and I were a threat and sped towards us. Noticing this, Agumon and I turned our attention towards them.

"You ready, Agumon," I asked.

"Anytime you are," Agumon replied.

"Alright, Agumon, Digivolve, now," I shouted.

"Agumon, Strength Arcana Digivolve to… Greymon," Agumon cried.

"Fire Wall," Greymon shouted.

Greymon spewed out a giant fire wall that prevented the blobs from coming near us. Those that came too close to the wall burned into ashes. When the remaining blobs stopped, Greymon came out of the fire and used his claws to rip them apart. At one point, one of the blobs bit him in the elbow.

"Get away from Greymon," I yelled.

I kicked the soccer ball at the blob, knocking it off balance. The ball easily returned to my side. Greymon proceeded to crush the blob that bit him.

"Greymon, I'll take care of those floating mouths," I said. "Focus your attention on the big guy. Try not to damage any of the buildings around here. Be careful. It's pretty tough. It already defeated several Digimon already. But, I know you can do it. After all, you're Greymon."

"You can count on me, Tai. I'll take care of him. Easy as pie," Greymon replied.

Greymon began charging at the fused Digimon. More blobs began charging after Greymon. I knocked some of them away with my soccer ball while Greymon used his claws to take care of the rest. Finally, the number of blobs that appeared dwindled, allowing Greymon to charge at full force.

"Great Horns Attack," Greymon shouted.

Greymon attempted to pierce the fused Digimon with his horns, but it managed to stop him with its mouth hands. The hand mouths and the body mouth tried to gnaw at Greymon's horns, but it was too tough for the fused Digimon to break. After a short tussle, Greymon managed to shake the fused Digimon off of his head. The two exchanged many fierce blows. Greymon slashed it with his claws while the fused Digimon pummeled him with its large hands.

"Tail Crash," Greymon shouted.

Finding an opening during the onslaught of attacks, Greymon slammed his tail onto the fused Digimon, sending it up into the air.

"Nova Blast," Greymon shouted.

Greymon spewed out flames that encompassed the fused Digimon, destroying it in the process. With the fused Digimon gone, the remaining blobs disappeared into the ground. The thick fog that covered the shopping district receded, as though it was never there to begin with. With the fog gone, my clothes returned back to normal. Greymon was unable to contain his presence in the real world without the fog, so he disappeared with it. The shopping district returned to its quiet, eerie self, with several stores unfortunately damaged.

"Tai, that was amazing," Sora said.

"Yeah, how did you manage to get Greymon out," Matt questioned.

I wanted to respond, but I felt as though all my energy was sapped away. Matt and Sora caught me as I collapsed to the ground.

"Tai, are you okay," Sora asked.

"Hang in there," Matt told me.

"Let's get him out of here," Izzy said, heading over to us. "I'm worried that there might be some cameras that caught us during our time here. They might get the wrong idea."

"Yeah, let's go. I want to go home as soon as possible," Mimi said, following behind Izzy.

Matt and Sora put my arms on both of their shoulders as the five of us slowly left the shopping district.
