Once again, I find myself in a familiar blue room with two recognizable faces.
"Welcome to the Velvet Room," Igor said.
"Because of the bonds you have forged, you have unlocked the Temperance and the Sun Arcana," Margaret said. "Right side up, the Temperance represents balance, patience, and purpose. Upside down, it represents imbalance, excess, and realignment. Right side up, the Sun represents warmth, positivity, and fun. Upside down, it represents depression, childish behavior, and setbacks."
"Let see what your future reads today. Ah, yes, it seems that your journey is about to reach yet another climax. Do keep that in mind as you continue your story."
"While your fate may be at a crossroad, I know you have what it takes to overcome this upcoming obstacle. Remember, there is only one truth, and that truth will lead you to the correct path."
"Defeat isn't the only way to lose sight of your goal. Be sure to remember that. Well then, until we meet again."
Episode 14
After several study dates, the dreaded week befell our school. I anxiously waited at my seat as the students passed the test papers over to me. I psyched myself up and prayed that I will not fail a single test. As long as I pass the average grade, I should be okay. I nervously looked at the clock, gazing at the minute hand, eyeing when it hit the top of the hour. As soon as the teacher let us begin, we quickly turned out papers over and started the exam.
Finally, the bell rang, signaling the end of the first day of the final exam week. The moment I handed in my paper over, I plopped my head on top of my desk. I did not want to see another exam question ever again until tomorrow morning.
"Stop looking like it's the end of the world every time this happens," Matt said, heading over to my desk.
"How did you think you did on the exams," Sora asked.
"I don't want to think about it," I answered.
"Try not to lose all of your energy now," Matt said. "You still have three more days to get through."
"Thanks for reminding me," I replied.
"So, what do you guys want to do," Sora asked. "You want to go over subjects that may be on tomorrow's exam?"
"Not me," I replied. "I'm heading outside."
"You can't run away from your problems forever," Matt said.
"No, seriously, I got soccer practice today," I answered.
"I thought all club activities ceased during exam week," Sora said.
"Yeah, but that won't stop us from letting off steam like this," I replied. "Besides, I'll look over some stuff when I get back home, so I have time to catch up on any study material."
"Which is the same thing as saying he's going to sleep in for the whole night," Matt said.
"Stop reading my mind," I replied. "Anyways, I'll see you guys tomorrow."
"Don't forget to study," Sora said.
I headed to the locker room to change to my sportswear and ran towards the field. After a few more players arrived to the field, we started our mock soccer game. During the game, one of the players fell and scraped his knee on the grass. After a quick check to see if he had any other additional damage, I told the players to continue practicing and asked two substitutes to fill in our spot. I assisted the player to the nurse's office. When I arrived, the nurse was napping on her desk with papers scattered all over.
"Excuse me, nurse, we need some first aid," I asked.
"Huh," the nurse said, waking up, confused. "Oh, someone's here. Looking for aid? Let me get…"
As she was getting up, she slipped from her chair and fell onto the floor, causing the papers on her desk to fly all over the room.
"Are you okay," the player asked.
"I'm fine; sorry about that," the nurse said.
For some reason, I found her clumsiness and disheveled look attractive.
"I'll grab some disinfectant," the nurse said. "Can you please seat him at the bed over there?"
"Oh, sure," I replied.
I brought the player over to the bed as she grabbed some alcohol and some cotton swabs. The way she treated the player's knee was alluring.
"There, that should do the trick," the nurse said, placing a large Band-Aid over the injury.
"T-Thank you," the player replied.
"Are you sure you guys should be playing around during exam week," she asked.
"Well, we're still young and full of energy," I replied. "We can't just sit down and look through study papers every day of every hour."
"If you say so," she replied. "Just be careful next time, okay?"
"O-Okay, I will," the player replied.
"By the way, if you guys have any trouble relaxing this week, I have some medicine that can help reduce stress," the nurse said. "Conversely, if you need extra energy to study overnight or stay awake during this week, I have medicine for that, too."
"That sounds pretty convenient," the player said. "I'd like to have some."
"What do you need extra energy for," I asked the player. "You have enough for the whole team."
"Stop teasing me," the player said. "I want the relaxer so that I can rest easy waking up for the exams tomorrow. You seem like the type of guy who needs extra energy. I bet you sleep or zone out while taking the exam."
"Now, who's the one doing the teasing," I said.
"Well, whichever one you want, I have them right there on those shelves," the nurse said. "Each case contains one week's worth of medicine, so it should last you through these exams. If you think you don't have enough, you can always come back for more. And, if you like it, try giving some to your friends so they can have some as well."
"That's great; thanks," the player said.
"We'll take our leave now," I said.
"Be careful next time, you boys," the nurse replied.
The next day, I replayed the same scene as yesterday, looking at long lists of words that didn't make any coherent sense. Still, I persevered, trying to make sense of the words as the final minutes started to tick away. Soon, the bell rang, signaling the end of the second day of exams. Exhausted, I plopped my head on the desk.
"Are you going to act like this every time exam day is over," Sora asked.
"Give me a break," I replied.
"If you're that tired, why not go to the nurse's office and grab some of that energy medicine," Matt asked.
"You heard about it, too," Sora said. "I've heard they're pretty effective. Why don't you take it?"
"I did," I replied.
"You sure, because it looks like you're down for the count," Matt replied.
"The medicine is in my bag, but I didn't try it," I answered. "I thought I could persevere, but I guess not."
"Hey, guys," Mimi said, walking into the room.
"How's everyone doing," Izzy asked, following from behind.
"Matt and I are fine," Sora said. "Tai, on the other hand…"
"Please, don't say it," I replied.
"Hey, isn't there an energy pill that's been the new fad these days," Mimi asked.
"I've heard about it from Yolei," Izzy replied. "Apparently, it's really effective."
"Have either of you tried it," Sora asked.
"Why would I take something like that," Mimi asked.
"Yeah, I figured as much," Matt replied.
"I haven't, but I know Yolei did," Izzy explained. "She said it really helped her focus all night when looking at potential upcoming questions for the exam. I also heard that there was a sleep-inducing pill as well. Yolei told me Derek was taking some, and it worked wonders for him. He said he hasn't had that kind of sleep since coming to Japan. I think he's been stressing out about some things lately, so it's good to know that he's getting some proper sleep."
"That's good to hear," Matt said.
"Maybe I should try it next time," Sora said.
"Whatever, I'm just going to go home and get some rest," I said.
"No soccer practice today," Matt asked.
"No, our coach scolded us for playing out in the field, so we're not allowed to play this week," I replied.
"Told you," Sora replied.
"Hey, Tai, if you're free, why don't you go shopping with me," Mimi asked. "That always perks me up whenever I'm in the need of a mood change. We can look at new lineups for clothes, try out any new dishes from the local restaurants…."
"That all sounds good, but it's not for me," I said. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."
"Get some proper rest," Izzy said.
"And make sure you study," Sora replied.
As I headed out of school and walked back home, I bumped into some of the players in the soccer team.
"Hey, captain," the red player said.
"Hey, you two, where are you guys going," I asked.
"We're planning to look at some new cleats," the blue player said. "You wanna come with us?"
"Not today, I'm a bit tired," I said.
"I know how you feel," the red player said. "Man, seeing those equations make my head dizzy."
"Speaking of exams, remember the player you assisted to the nurse's office the other day," the blue player asked. "Did anything happen while you guys were there?"
"No, not really," I replied. "Why, did something happen?"
"I don't know," the blue player said. "He keeps saying he feels so tired and needs more energy. When we told him about going to the nurse's office, he just rushed out of the classroom. He normally doesn't act like that, so I was hoping you might know something."
"I don't think anything strange happened while we were there," I said.
"If you say so," the red player replied. "We should probably get going. We'll see you later, captain."
"Try not to fail the exams," the blue player replied.
"Right back at you," I replied.
As the two players left, I shuffled through my bag and found the case of pills the player and I took yesterday under the advice of the nurse. I wondered if the pills had anything to do with sudden mood change, whether there were side effects she didn't tell us about. Come to think of it, both of us took them simply because we trusted that the nurse had good intentions when informing us about them. I removed that thought from my mind for now and continued my way back home.
The third day of exam week was no different than the last. At this point, all I cared about was getting to the final day. I slouched on my chair and stared blankly at the ceiling.
"At least, your head's not on the desk," Sora said.
"You think you're getting the hang of this," Matt said.
"At this point, I just want this to be over," I replied.
"Well, you're almost there, so keep at it," Sora replied.
"Hey, guys," Izzy said.
"Hey, Izzy," Sora said. "You look like you're in a rush. Is everything alright?"
"Have you guys seen Yolei," Izzy asked.
"She hasn't been here," Matt replied. "Why do you ask?"
"Apparently, she went back home in the middle of her exam, claiming that she's feeling ill," Izzy explained. "I wanted to get in contact with her after exams were done, but she didn't pick up the phone. I wanted to make sure that everything was alright."
"Let me try," Sora said, using her phone to call her. "Hey, you're right; she's not picking up."
"I hope everything's okay," Matt replied. "A couple of students in our class did the exact same thing. I didn't think much of it at first, but if other classes are experiencing the exact same thing, then this needs to be addressed."
"Izzy, you said Yolei took some of those pills the other day, right," I asked.
"Yeah, she did," Izzy replied.
"I was actually wondering if you can take a look at them," I replied. "I have some in my bag."
"Right, you did say you have some a few days ago," Sora said.
"I guess you never taking them was a good thing," Matt replied.
"You think you can figure out the contents," I asked Izzy.
"I don't know," Izzy said. "I'm not too familiar with medical science, but I bet Joe and his brother might be able to help us."
"They're both here," Sora said, surprised.
"No, they're still in Kyoto," Izzy replied. "I'll just take the train there and ask his brother to drive me back. I'm sure he wouldn't mind."
"But it takes hours to get there and back," Matt said. "Are you sure you want to do that?"
"If the medication from the school nurse has something to do with Yolei's sudden change of behavior, a few hours is nothing if it means finding a clue about what's happening in this school," Izzy said.
"We're counting on you," I replied.
Finally, it was the last day of exams. When I walked into the classroom, I noticed that a fair number of students were missing. I knew that I didn't arrive any earlier than I usually do, but I knew that I was one of the few who would normally come to school a few minutes before the bell rang.
"Oh, Tai, you made it," Sora said.
"We were just talking about you," Matt replied.
"About what," I asked.
"Well, it's about our class," Sora explained. "There aren't that many people here at this time. Usually, everyone would be here during exam week so we don't have to spend our summer doing make-up exams and other supplementary courses. I understand if one or two would be out, but this is more than usual."
"Everyone's calling it a 'summer cold,' but I think it's more than that," Matt replied.
"You don't think it has to do with…," I said.
"Tai, Sora, Matt, thank goodness you're here," Mimi said, running towards us.
"Hey, Mimi, what's wrong," Sora asked. "You look very pale."
"Have any of you seen Izzy," Mimi asked.
"We just saw him yesterday," I answered.
"He said he was going to Kyoto to check something for us," Matt explained.
"Wait, he went to Kyoto, and you guys didn't tell me," Mimi asked. "I wanted to go, too."
"Calm down," I said. "He wasn't there for fun. He's doing something important."
"Getting back on topic, what happened to Izzy," Sora asked.
"Right," Mimi replied. "He still hasn't come to school yet. Usually, he'd be the first one's there, but today he's not."
"But, it's almost time for exams," Sora said, looking at the clock.
"I knew he wouldn't make it back in time," Matt said.
"If he's coming back from Kyoto, I'd be more content, but I'm just so worried," Mimi said. "A lot of people from my class haven't shown up since yesterday, and it started to make me think negative thoughts."
"I'm sure Izzy is fine," Sora said. "Trust in him."
"If something like this is happening in both of our classrooms, there's a good chance that all the classrooms are going through the exact same thing," Matt said.
"Let's wait for Izzy to return with the results," I replied. "We can plan our next course of action afterwards."
"Right," Sora replied.
The bell rang, warning us to return to our classrooms, as exams were about to begin. Mimi sluggishly left our room as the rest of us got to our seats to prepare for the exams. Although my body was on the chair and my hands were scribbling on the paper, my mind wasn't focused, as I continued to wonder what exactly was happening in this school.
Finally, the bell rang signaling the end of exams. Even though I did the best that I could, I was still tense because I could not concentrate on anything. As the teacher left the room and a sense of normality filled the air, Mimi rushed into the room.
"Hey, guys, Izzy never made it back," Mimi said to us.
"Did you try calling him," Sora asked.
"I did, but he didn't respond," Mimi replied.
"Let me try calling him," I said, using my phone. "You're right; he's not answering."
"This is just like the time Izzy tried to get in contact with Yolei," Matt said. "You don't think…"
"Don't go there," Mimi shouted.
The students in the classroom paused to see what was going on with us.
"I'm sorry, I just…," Mimi said.
"Don't worry, Mimi," Sora said. "We're just as worried as you are. Let's try to figure out what's happening together, okay?"
Suddenly, the door to the classroom opened.
"Thank goodness you guys are still here," Izzy said, gasping his breath.
"Izzy, you're alright," Matt said.
"Do you know how much we've worried about you," Mimi asked.
"Now's not the time for that," Izzy replied. "We have something more important to discuss. Let's head over to my office. Mimi, bring Michael and Mina with you, too. I think it's going to concern them as much as it will us."
"What did you find out," Sora asked.
"We can't discuss it here," Izzy replied. "I'll explain once we get to the office. Let's go."
As requested by Izzy, everyone was gathered at his office to discuss his findings.
"Good, everyone's here," Izzy said. "I want you to take a look at this."
Izzy put a USB into the TV and showed us various slides and images featuring various charts and data.
"What is it," Michael asked.
"I asked Joe and his brother to look into the medicine Tai gave me," Izzy explained.
"You saw Joe," Mimi asked.
"Not now, Mimi," Sora asked.
"Who is this 'Joe' person," Mina asked.
"He's a DigiDestined, just like the rest of us," Matt explained.
"When we opened up the pill and checked the contents, it looked normal at first, as it has similar ingredients to other over-the-counter drugs that stimulate sleep or energy," Izzy explained. "However, something about where the ingredients came from caught me off guard."
"What do you mean 'where they came from,'" Sora asked. "Are you saying that they were extracted from different plants or use different chemical compounds?"
"To an extent," Izzy said. "Take a look at this."
Izzy showed us another slide with more information.
"What is it," I asked.
"It's a list of where these ingredients from the pill most likely came from," Izzy said.
"I've never even seen or heard any of these genus species before," Mina said.
"It is possible that they are rare plants uncommonly found on Earth," Sora asked.
"I've looked through where all of this could be from, but I couldn't find anything that even remotely matches the kinds of plants or minerals that come from here," Izzy said.
"So what, are you saying they're from outer space or another planet," Michael asked.
"Try somewhere a lot closer, and a place we know all too well," Izzy said.
"The Digital World," I said.
"You're kidding," Sora replied.
"I don't know how, but wherever these compounds are from are definitely coming from the Digital World," Izzy replied. "I checked the various biomes in my database on the Digital World, and a lot of these ingredients are from there. It's safe to say this medicine was made in the Digital World."
"But, that's crazy," Michael said. "Does that mean the nurse is a DigiDestined, or her supplier is a DigiDestined or someone who has access to the Digitial World besides us?"
"Do you remember a few months ago when something similar happened to our school," Izzy asked.
"How could I not," I replied. "It involved several members of my soccer team. We found out that the substitute coach was a Digimon who was abducting various people and sending them to the Digital World."
You're kidding," Michael said.
"That actually happened," Mina questioned.
"Indeed, it did," Izzy said.
"If that's true, does that mean something like that is happening again," Matt asked.
"That means Yolei and Derek are in danger," Sora said. "Both of them took those pills, so there's a chance that their lives are in jeopardy."
"I don't think they were in school today," Mimi said. "Does that mean…?"
"We don't know for sure," Izzy said. "Unfortunately, I checked the dormitory Derek was in and Yolei's house. Neither of them was there."
"Oh no," Mina said.
"We got to help them," Matt said. "Do you know where they could be?"
"From what I gathered from Yolei's parents, they said she was going to the hospital not too far from here to have them check on her condition," Izzy said.
"Then, what are we waiting for," Mimi said. "Let's go. They're in danger."
"Wait," Sora said. "If it's just like last time, we don't want to rush in without a plan. Let's prepare for the worst before heading there."
"I agree," Izzy said. "Going there empty-handed will do more harm than good. Let's gather what we can, come back here in an hour, and then head to the hospital. If we want to resolve this situation, we have to do to together."
"Right," I said. "Everyone, be ready for anything. We're going to infiltrate the hospital."
"Okay," everyone replied.
Once we settled down and gathered our thoughts and belongings, we headed over to the hospital where Izzy said Yolei went to. When we headed to the receptionist and told her we were friends of a student who may have been here, she claimed that there was no such person on their register with that name. Confused, we left the hospital.
"That's strange," Izzy said. "I could have sworn her parent's said she would be here."
"I understand if she checked in and left early, but for her not to be on the patient's list is concerning," Sora said.
"Maybe she's still on her way here," Michael said.
"I doubt it, as I talked to her parents this morning," Izzy said. "She would have been here much earlier than we would."
"Maybe she took a detour," Mina asked.
"Or perhaps something happened to her while she was coming here," Matt said.
"Matt, don't entertain that thought," Mimi said.
I put on my goggles to see if there was anything suspicious happening. Strangely enough, I saw faint traces of distortions leading underneath the hospital.
"Tai, where are you going," Sora said. "That's the parking lot."
"I know, and I think there's something here," I said.
"Tai, wait up," Izzy said, following me.
I led the group down to a door that said "Staff Only."
"That's not good," I said.
"What is it, Tai," Matt asked.
"I saw some distortion lines heading in this direction," I explained.
"So, something suspicious is happening underneath the hospital," Sora asked.
"The door's locked," Mimi said, trying to open it.
"It looks like you need an employee ID card to get inside," Mina said, pointing at a scanner.
"How are we going to get something like that," Matt asked.
"Leave it to me," Michael said.
"What are you going to do," Sora asked.
"I have an idea," Michael said, heading back outside.
"Michael, where are you going," Mimi asked.
"Just wait for me there," Michael said.
A few minutes later, Michael returned.
"That was fast," Sora said.
"Don't tell me you actually got an ID card from an employee," Matt said.
"Nope, I got it from the woman at the receptionist desk from earlier," Michael said.
"You actually got it," Izzy asked.
"That's amazing," I replied. "How did you do it?"
"Never underestimate the son of an actor," Michael said. "I just told her I was feeling exhausted as of late from taking certain medication, and she gave me a different check-in list than the one we saw earlier. Guess what? Yolei and Derek's names were on there."
"You're kidding," Sora said.
"After that, she gave me a card," Michael continued. "It looked like a standard room key, but I think the card is a charm of some sort, because I immediately felt dizzy when I looked at it. So, I acted like I was hypnotized by it and left the building. I bet she didn't suspect a thing."
"Great job, Michael," Mimi said. "Now, we can get inside and save everyone."
"Okay, Micheal, do your thing," I said.
Michael swiped the card given to him in front of the scanner. The scanner flashed green, allowing me to open the door.
"Alright, everyone, let's go," I said.
"Right," everyone replied.
We maneuvered our way to the bottom of the hospital. The farther down we went, the more staff we had to hide from in order to continue to follow the distorted lines. As we went down, we saw faint traces of fog that only got thicker the deeper we went. Eventually we made it to the bottom of the hospital, where we saw rows upon rows of people on hospital beds in a deep sleep.
"Look, I see Yolei over there," Sora said, pointing at one of the beds.
"And there's Derek, a couple of beds next to her," I said, pointing at another bed.
Mimi quickly ran up to Yolei.
"Mimi, what are you doing," Matt asked.
"Getting them out of here," Mimi said.
"But, it's too dangerous," Sora said. "What if…?"
"Hey, what are you doing here," one of the nurses said.
"Oh no, they've found us," Michael said.
Two nurses from either side of us transformed into witches with red robes and broomsticks.
"They just transformed," Mina said.
"They're Witchmon," Izzy said.
"Get them," one of the Witchmon said.
A thick fog suddenly covered the entire hospital ward. The two Witchmon charged at us as we moved out of the way.
"It's so hard to see in this fog," Michael said.
"Right, you guys don't have your glasses," Matt said.
"Try to stay as close to us as possible, alright," Sora said to Mina.
"O-Okay," Mina said.
"Alright, if that's how they're going to play, two can play that game," I said.
"Wait, Tai, we're in a working hospital," Izzy said. "There's a lot of people here in this room as well as all the floors above us. We need to find a place where we can take care of them without hurting anybody."
"Don't hospitals have a storage unit or something that holds all their inventory and stuff," Matt asked. "With a hospital this big, it has to have a storage unit just as big."
"Let me see if I can find it," Izzy said. "Persona!"
Izzy transformed to his new attire, and Tentomon was summoned.
"Hello, there, Izzy, what can I do fo-," Tentomon said.
I quickly grabbed Tentomon and brought him down as the two Witchmon continued to search for us.
"I guess we're doing the hiding thing," Tentomon said.
"Izzy, did you find the storage area," I asked.
"Give me a minute," Izzy said, looking through his crystal ball. "Got it. It's two floors above us."
"Great, let's get them," Tai said.
"Wait, those Witchmon are probably Champion level," Izzy said. "If we let our Digimon out, they'll probably be too big for this hospital."
"Then, who has a Digimon small enough to fight in a hospital without damaging it," I asked.
"Heh heh heh, this is where I come in," Mimi said.
"Mimi," Izzy asked. "That's right; she can take care of it."
"We're counting on you, Mimi," I said.
"Leave them to me," Mimi said. "I'll make sure they pay for harming Yolei, Derek, and the others. Persona!"
Mimi shattered the card in front of her, allowing it to materialize into Palmon. In addition, she was now wearing a dark green, skin-tight, full body jump suit with two pockets filled with throwing darts on both sides of her legs and a dark green ninja eye mask.
"Wow, I really did change clothes," Mimi said.
"Mimi, you look so cool," Palmon said.
"Palmon, it's so good to see you," Mimi said, hugging Palmon.
"What exactly are you staring at, Izzy," I asked.
"I-I'm not doing any of that," Izzy replied.
"So, how do we get her to be Lilymon," Mimi asked.
"Here, let me handle that," I said.
"While she's Digivolving, Tentomon, can you bring those two Witchmon over to this room over here," Izzy said, pointing at a spot in the crystal ball.
"I guess I'm the bait," Tentomon said. "I knew this day will come. Well, if I'm going to do this, I'll do this in style."
"Good luck, Tentomon," Palmon said.
"I shall await your swift arrival," Tentomon replied. "And please, do make it quick."
Tentomon flew out of the room and tried to find the two Witchmon. When he found then, he quickly got their attention and made them chase him towards the inventory room.
"Okay, here goes nothing," I said.
I threw The Fool, The Temperance, The Sun, and The Empress around Palmon.
"Palmon, Four Card Arcana Digivolve to… Lilymon!" Palmon shouted.
"Alright, we did it," Mimi said.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of those witches in a heartbeat," Lilymon said, flying out of the room.
Meanwhile, Tentomon zipped inside the suggested room, filled with boxes of gloves, toilet paper, etc.
"There you are, you little bug," one of the Witchmon said.
"You've got nowhere to hide this time," the other Witchmon replied.
"Super Shocker," Tentomon shouted.
Tentomon shot electricity from its wings, but the two Witchmon dodged it.
"Baluluna Gale," one of the Witchmon said.
Witchmon fired a crescent blade of wind at Tentomon, who managed to dodge it.
"Aquary Pressure," the second Witchmon said.
The other Witchmon fired high pressured water at Tentomon. This time, it hit Tentomon, who crashed into some of the boxes.
"Kekeke, playtime's over, little bug," the first Witchmon said.
"It's been fun knowing you," the second Withcmon said.
The two prepare to fire their respective attacks at Tentomon.
"Viscous Vine," Lilymon shouted.
Lilymon stabbed both of the Witchmon with vines coming out from her hands.
"You're right; it has been fun knowing you two," Lilymon said.
The vines suddenly spouted thorns, which tore the Witchmon's bodies apart, causing them to disintegrate.
"Thanks for the save, Lilymon," Tentomon said.
"Anytime, Tentomon," Lilymon replied.
Once Lilymon and Tentomon returned to us, we used this opportunity to properly head inside the room filled with sleeping bodies. As we inspected the room, we saw a familiar nurse pushing Yolei's bed towards a curtain.
"There she is," Matt shouted, pointing at the school nurse.
"And she's got Yolei," Sora said.
"You kids," the school nurse said, turning around.
"Give Yolei back to us right now," Mimi said.
The nurse began running faster with Yolei's bed as we chased after her.
"Oh no, you don't," Lilymon said, flying towards her.
Knowing that she will eventually be caught by the pursuing Digimon, the school nurse grabbed Yolei and threw her at Lilymon, who had to stop in order to catch her before she fell to the ground.
"Yolei," Mimi said, checking on her.
"Don't worry; she's still okay," Lilymon said.
"Thank goodness," Sora replied.
"And it looks like Derek is still here in his bed," Izzy said.
"That's good," I replied.
"Wait, where did that nurse go," Matt asked.
Before we could do anything, the fog suddenly got sucked away from inside the curtain. When the fog cleared, the room returned to is normal state.
"Hey, where did Lilymon go," Mimi said, who was holding onto Yolei.
"Don't worry; she's fine," I explained. "She can't manifest herself without the fog."
"Speaking of the fog, it all went towards the opposite side of that curtain," Sora said.
"Let's go check it out," Matt said.
We ran towards the curtain and opened it. The only thing there was a large TV.
"Where'd she go," Michael said. "There's nothing here but a television screen."
"Do you think…," Sora said.
"Yeah, she definitely went inside the TV," I said.
"What," Michael said, surprised.
"Is that possible," Mina said, confused.
"Right, you've never seen it in action, did you," I said.
I stuck my hand through the television screen.
"I don't believe it," Michael said.
"Is that magic," Mina replied.
"I'm not sure, but that's how we know the nurse went inside the TV," I said. "Someone's given her the same powers as us, and unless we find out whom it is, more things like this are going to happen."
"Then, what are we waiting for; let's go," Michael said.
"Wait," Izzy replied. "We can't just go into any TV haphazardly. There's a chance it will lead to somewhere we're not familiar with. Heck, there could be an ambush waiting for us if we jump in there now."
"It's why we usually head over to Izzy's office as our main entrance point, since we've entered through that area many times," Sora continued.
"Plus, we get to meet this cute, soft bear," Mimi said.
"A bear," Michael questioned.
"It's complicated," Matt replied.
"So, here's the plan," I said. "Mimi, Matt, Sora, Izzy, and I will return to the office to take care of the school nurse. Michael, Mina, you'll stay here and make sure nothing else happens in this room. If something does come up, and that same fog reappears again, you have my permission to summon your Digimon out in the fog. Your outfits will help you see through the fog should anything happen."
"Got it," Michael said.
"Please be careful," Mina replied.
"Okay, team, let's go," I said.
"Right," everyone replied.
