Still at Izzy's office, Matt and Mimi watched what transpired in the TV world.
"Oh no, Kari's other self has awakened," Mimi said, concerned.
"Just when I thought it she was strong enough to accept it," Matt said.
Suddenly, Matt and Mimi's phones started ringing.
"What now," Matt questioned, looking through his phone.
"Matt, look," Mimi said, pointing at her phone and showing it to Matt. "A sudden thick fog appeared in both Shibuya and Taito. It's all over the news."
"Two different locations? Even Sora and I had a difficult time protecting one."
"But, we have to do something. I know. Why don't we ask the others for help? I'm sure they'd be more than happy to assist us."
"In an emergency like this, I don't think we have any other option. I'll text everyone and try and figure out how to divide everyone. In the meantime, let's head over to Taito."
"Okay."
Episode 21
Izzy, Sora, Teddie, and I rushed over to Kari as DarkLadyDevimon prepared to attack her.
"Powerful Flame," MetalGreymon shouted.
MetalGreymon shot a large flamethrower at DarkLadyDevimon, but the Bronze Tai statue took the attack for itself. While expressionless, it looked as though it enjoyed the burning sensation.
"What's going on," I questioned.
"Pheonix Claw," Garuda shouted.
Garudamon tried to slash DarkLadyDevimon with its powerful hands, but the Marble Tai statue blocked the blow. Similar to the bronze statue, it had a satisfied look on its face, and its body expressions made it seem like it wanted more.
"They are weirding me out," Sora said.
"They're distracted," Izzy said. "Now's our chance!"
"Horn Buster," MegaKabuterimon shouted.
"Fire the Tomahawk," Teddie shouted.
MegaKabuterimon and Kintoki-Douji fired an electric ball and missile respectively at DarkLadyDevimon, who used the bat wings on its chaise to shield herself from the attacks.
"How dare you," DarkLadyDevimon angrily said. "Only Tai is able to touch me."
The Bronze Tai and Marble Tai charged after MegaKabuterimon and Kintoki-Douji and knocked both of them to the side. The impact from the damage stung Izzy and Teddie.
"Izzy, Teddie, are you guys okay," I asked.
"I'm alright," Izzy responded.
"I'm still here," Teddie answered.
"Darkness Wave," DarkLadyDevimon shouted.
DarkLadyDevimon summoned a plethora of bats from her chair and ordered them to swarm at us.
"Ouchies," Teddie said, covering his head. "The bites from those things really sting, and it's burning my beautiful bear skin."
"Eagle Twister," Garudamon shouted.
Garudamon created a large tornado that sucked all the bats in and aimed it at DarkLadyDevimon. DarkLadyDevimon quickly froze the tornado, shattering it in the process.
"You're all so annoying," DarkLadyDevimon said. "Why won't you understand Tai is the only one for me?!"
DarkLadyDevimon fired several large thunderbolts from the sky, which shocked most of us and brought us all down as we screamed in pain.
"I just love their screams," DarkLadyDevimon said, pleased with herself. "They make me so happy."
"Stop it, please," Kari murmured weakly.
"You're still here. I wished you'd disappeared."
"Don't… hurt them anymore…."
"You still don't get it, do you? Tai is everything to me. Without him, I am nothing. I don't bring anything to the table. Isn't that why I became a DigiDestined later than all of them? I was sick in bed, and they were off on exhilarating adventures, doing just fine without me."
"But… I…."
"That's why I need Tai. I need him to rely on me and use me as a reason to keep fighting. It's my only worth as a DigiDestined, much less a person. I'm the despicable one who selfishly wishes for Tai to care about my needs and no one else. I'm not the pure girl they think I am. I'm ugly, greedy, and shameless, and there's not enough room for two people who share the same face and personality! So, I need you to disappear so I can be me, the true me who is open to who she really is! Black Wing!"
DarkLadyDevimon turned her left hand into a spear and aimed it at Kari.
Meanwhile, Matt and Mimi got off a cab at Taito to meet up with Mina and Michael.
"Hey, you two, did you wait long," Mimi asked.
"We just got here ourselves," Michael replied.
"How does it look over there," Matt asked.
"We're not sure," Mina replied. "It's pretty thick for us to analyze it."
Matt and Mimi put on their glasses to survey their surroundings.
"So far so good," Mimi said. "I don't see too much damage yet."
"Let's head over to the epicenter. There's a good chance we will be able to find what we are looking for there," Matt said.
"Where'd you get the glasses from," Michael asked. "They look stylish."
"Do they have some function to see through this fog," Mina questioned.
"Something like that; it's hard to explain," Matt asked. "Anyway, are you guys ready?"
"Yes," Michael and Mina replied.
"Persona," the four of them shouted.
Matt, Mimi, Michael, and Mina donned their new attire as their Digimon were released from the cards.
"Michael, it's good to see you again," Betamon said.
"Hey, Mina, what's the occasion," Candlemon asked.
"There seems to be another attack in our world by those Shadows again," Matt explained.
"If your world is in danger, we'll do everything we can to help," Gabumon said.
"Alright, I'm ready to put those meanies back where they came from," Palmon said.
"That's the spirit," Mimi told her.
"Let's get going," Matt replied.
"Right," everyone said.
The group went deeper into the fog, scanning the area from time to time. As they were traversing, Matt signaled everyone to hide behind one of the buildings. Various Shadows were wandering the streets as though they were patrolling the fog.
"Look, it's those Shadows," Palmon said.
"They haven't noticed us yet," Mina replied.
"Alright, let's sneak up on them and surprise them," Matt suggested.
"Okay," the four Digimon said.
"Gabumon, Emperor Arcana Digivolve to… Garurumon," Gabumon shouted.
"Palmon, High Priestess Arcana Digivolve to… Togemon," Palmon shouted.
"Betamon, Magician Arcana Digivolve to… Seadramon," Betamon shouted.
"Candlemon, Wheel of Fortune Arcana Digivolve to… Meramon," Candlemon shouted.
"Coconut Punch," Togemon shouted.
Togemon smashed one of the Shadows with its fist to the ground, causing it to disintegrate.
"Like crushing an ant," Togemon said.
"Don't get your hopes up just yet. More are coming," Garurumon said.
Hearing the commotion, the remaining Shadows charged at us.
"Alright, everyone, you know what to do," Matt said.
"Defeat them without damaging the property," Mina said.
"Alright, let's do this," Michael said.
"Howling Blaster," Garurumon shouted.
"Needle Spray," Togemon shouted.
"Ice Blast," Seadramon shouted.
"Blazing Flames," Meramon shouted.
As the Digimon took care of the larger Shadows, the DigiDestined fought against the smaller Shadows that were in their way. As their numbers were dwindling, various portals appeared in front of several televisions where numerous Digimon came out to attack the Shadows.
"Not again," Matt said. "When will they ever learn?"
"Everyone, make sure that their battle doesn't cause too much damage," Mimi said.
As the Digimon and Shadows attacked each other, Garurumon, Togemon, Seadramon, and Meramon protected the various infrastructures that would have been damaged by their brawl. During the chaos, several Platinum Dice attached themselves onto a Monzaemon, forcefully trying to fuse themselves with it. Eventually, it created a deformed creature with large die as extensions on its arms, legs, and head. The Fused Digimon used its new body parts to completely crush the Digimon that entered the Real World. Soon, the Digimon became fearful and returned to the Digital World. The Fused Digimon shrieked as more Shadows appeared from the ground.
"What should we do now," Michael asked.
"This can't get any worse," Matt muttered to himself.
At the same time, Yolei, Derek, Catherine, Willis, and Rosa, who have already summoned their Digimon, navigated their way around Shibuya through the dense fog.
"It's quiet," Catherine said. "Too quiet."
"Why haven't any Shadows shown up yet," Derek questioned.
"Maybe they're scared of us," Gotsumon said.
"They wouldn't dare harm someone as beautiful as me, would they," Floramon asked.
A scream can be heard from a distance.
"What was what," Rosa asked, alerted.
"It's coming from that direction," Willis said.
"Come on, everyone, let's go," Yolei said.
The group ran to where the sound was coming from. A businessman was shaking, leaning against a wall as a Shadow crept up to him.
"Look, over there, a Shadow," Terriermon said.
"And it's about to attack that guy over there," Crabmon said.
"We have to save him," Yolei said. "Hawkmon!"
"I am ready, willing, and able," Hawkmon said. "Hawkmon, Temperance Arcana Digivolve to… Aquilamon!"
"Grand Horn," Aquilamon shouted.
Aquilamon charged at the Shadow with its large horns, knocking it over to the side.
"Are you okay, sir," Yolei asked the businessman.
"W-Who are you people, and what's with the getup," the businessman asked.
"No time to explain," Willis replied. "This area isn't safe. Let us help guide you to the exit."
"Oh, please and thank you," the businessman replied.
As Willis tended to the businessman, more cries were heard throughout the city, calling for help as the Shadows continued to roam the premise.
"Just how many people are trapped here," Derek questioned.
"We must save them all and get them out of there," Catherine said. "Just keep doing it until there is no one left."
"I'll help knock all the baddies down on my way there," Rosa said.
"Everyone, let's focus our attention on getting these people safe," Yolei said. "We'll let our Digimon take care of any Shadows that may come our way."
"Got it," everyone said.
Crabmon, Floramon, Terriermon, and Gotsumon Digivolved to Coelamon, Kiwimon, Gargomon, and Monocromon respectively. As they fought against the Shadows, the DigiDestined took the opportunity to rescue as many people as possible. Some hid behind alleyways while others were caught underneath rubble. No matter how many people they assisted, it seemed as though there was no end to the civilians who were in danger as the number of Shadows increased to prevent us from clearing a path for the people to leave the fog. Soon, the population of Shadows was overwhelming, and the Digimon protecting the city were weary from the continuous onslaught of enemy attacks.
"There's no end to this," Monocromon said.
"They just keep growing in numbers," Catherine said.
"I guess they're getting desperate to stop everyone from leaving," Kiwimon said.
"I'm starting to get drained," Gargomon said.
"Keep them coming," Coelamon said. "I'll tear them all apart."
"At least one of us is full of energy," Willis said.
"But, they're right," Derek said. "If this keeps up, we'll tire out faster than they can recover their numbers."
"What should we do," Rosa asked.
"I don't know, but we can't stop now," Yolei said. "There's still a lot of people who need our help, and if we can't save them, who will? We just need to put our trust in Tai and the others. I'm sure once things calm down from their end, things will look up from our end. Keep your spirits up. We can do this. We have to do this. We're the only ones who can."
"Yolei, look over there," Aquilamon said.
From a distance, Yolei spotted two figures who were guiding some of the people out of the fog.
"Everyone, if you can hear the sound of my voice, please come this way," Davis shouted. "I promise you everything is going to be alright. There is nothing to worry about."
"It's hard to believe that when there is already this much damage to the city," Cody said.
"Hey, I'm trying to think positively here. I can't just bring them over here while they're still scared on their knees. I got to relieve their fears somehow."
"And calling out through this heavy fog is going to make them more suspicious. If only there was some way we can clear away this fog, it would make this much easier."
"What are those two doing," Yolei asked. "They can't call out their Digimon yet. If they keep shouting like that, they'll…"
Realizing what was happening, the Shadows rushed over to Davis and Cody.
"Those idiots are going to get themselves killed," Willis said.
"Davis, Cody, run for it," Yolei shouted.
"Was that Yolei," Davis asked.
"Davis, something's coming," Cody said. "Brace for impact!"
"Kari, look out," I shouted.
Before Kari had any time to react to Dark LadyDevimon's attack, MetalGreymon and I rushed to Kari's side. The spear pierced through MetalGreymon's arm and scrapped my shoulder as I pushed her away from the attack.
"MetalGreymon," Izzy shouted.
"Tai," Sora cried out.
"Oh, no, Tai's just got hurt, and so did that giant monster thing," Teddie said, fidgeting about.
"What have I done," DarkLadyDevimon asked. "No! Tai! I'm so sorry. This wasn't supposed to happen."
"Tai, you're bleeding," Kari said, looking at my arm.
"This is nothing," I replied. "I've been through worse."
"MetalGreymon, are you alright," Garudamon said.
"Heh, if Tai can handle the pain, then so can I," MetalGreymon replied, gradually getting up.
"This is all my fault," Kari said, disheartened. "If only I could face my other self…."
"That's right; you're such a pain to watch," DarkLadyDevimon said. "You kept acting like this damsel in distress in front of Tai, and look at what you have done? This is your punishment. This is what you get for taking advantage of Tai's goodwill. This is proof of who you really are."
"Who I really am," Kari muttered. "No, this can't be me, can it? I don't know anymore…."
Kari quickly became depressed. Light was leaving from her eyes.
"Stand up, Kari," Sora shouted.
Kari snapped out of her trance and turned to Sora.
"So what if you blame yourself for what happened," Sora continued. "Own your mistakes and think. As a sister, what is it that you want to do?"
"You still want to help Tai, don't you," Izzy asked.
Kai looked at me, who was still trying to slow down the bleeding in my arm. She took out a handkerchief from her pocket and tied it to my arm to apply pressure.
"What are you doing," DarkLadyDevimon questioned. "Get away from him! You have no right to be with him!"
"You're wrong," Kari retorted.
"What?"
"Yes, I know I can be clingy to my brother. I know that there were times when I had negative thoughts whenever I did not have his attention. But, that is a part of who I am, the terrible parts that I tried to ignore and not recognize. Isn't that right, me?"
"You… You! You are not worthy enough to be by his side!"
"You're wrong! He's my brother; my only brother. I want to be with him. You know I want to be with you. I know you want to be with him, because we are one of the same."
"You dirty old hag! Are you seriously just going to accept me?! I won't allow it!"
DarkLadyDevimon ordered the two Tai statues to attack Kari and me.
"Kari, Tai, look out," Sora shouted.
"So, this is where you guys were."
Matt, Mimi, Michael, and Mina turned to a familiar voice from the distance.
"TK, what are you doing here," Matt asked.
"You didn't expect me to sit this one out while you guys had all the fun, right," TK questioned.
"Matt, I thought you said he still needs time to recover," Mimi said.
"Yeah, I did, but…," Matt said.
"He was just acting like an overprotective brother," TK replied. "Besides, seeing all of you guys texting back and forth made me even more curious."
Seeing that the DigiDestined were distracted, the Shadows charged after them.
"Here they come," Meramon said.
"Looks like it's my turn to shine," TK said. "Persona!"
TK shattered the card in front of him. He soon donned a yellow and green eye visor, a yellow tunic with green trim, green sandals, green leather gloves, and a yellow cape with a green trim. On his hand was a golden staff. Patamon descended from the sky.
"TK, I'm here," Palmon said.
"Good to have you back, friend," TK said.
"As much as I enjoy the reunion, can we save it for later," Michael asked.
"Not a problem," TK said. "Are you ready, Patamon?"
"Ready when you are, TK," Patamon replied. "Patamon, Star Arcana Digivolve to… Angemon!"
"Hand of Fate," Angemon shouted.
Angemon fired a punch-shaped beam from his fist, knocking the Fused Digimon down.
"Angemon has returned," Garurumon said.
"Alright, let's knock some heads," Togemon said.
Garurumon, Togemon, Seadramon, and Meramon continued their fight alongside Angemon against the Shadows as Matt, Mimi, TK, Mina, and Michael took care of the smaller Shadows. Once the Fused Digimon recovered, it jumped in the air and attempted to crush us with its cubic parts. We left just in time before the Fused Digimon crashed into the ground.
"Get it before it recovers," Matt said.
"Ice Cannon," Garurumon shouted.
"Needle Spray," Togemon shouted.
"Water Shock," Seadramon shouted.
"Magma Blast," Meramon shouted.
"Omni Typhoon," Angemon shouted.
The five Digimon combined their attacks and fired it at the Fused Digimon, completely turning it into nothingness. Seeing it defeated, the Shadows retreated and returned to the ground.
Two blue pillars of light appeared before Davis and Cody, stopping everyone in their tracks. One of them was an angelic being with a blue bodysuit, a golden helmet, golden gauntlets, golden boots, and metallic wings. The other was a regal being with purple silk robes and a frightening mask. The two turned to Davis and Cody respectively, transformed into a round, golden face visor and a purple, feudal eye mask, and attached themselves onto them. Voices began echoing inside their minds.
"I am Melchizedek, leader of all angels," the angelic being said to Davis. "To you whose heart knows no fear, I grant you my power. Call out to the one whom you share a strong bond with, and together, charge forth to victory on your path towards righteousness."
"I am Lanling Wang, prince of Northern Qi," the regal being said to Cody. "To you who is unafraid to show the beauty within your heart, I grant you my power. Call out to the one whom you share a strong bond with, and together, let it be known that the sword you raise is for the name of justice."
"Persona," Davis and Cody shouted.
Davis and Cody ripped off the masks from the faces, unlocking the powers sealed within it. Davis was now wearing a blue skintight bodysuit, golden jet boots, golden metallic gloves, metallic blue wings, and a full-faced golden helmet. Cody now donned a yellow silk robe with deep purple lining and a purple, feudal war mask and carried a Japanese short sword. Veemon and Armadillomon fell from the sky to greet them.
"Davis," Veemon said, happily.
"Veemon," Davis said, surprised. "You're here, like, in my arms here. But how did you get here? And what's with these weird clothes I'm wearing?"
"Cody, I've been digging all over for you," Armadillomon said.
"You and me both, partner," Cody said. "It's good to see that you are doing well."
"Davis, Cody," Yolei said, running towards them.
"Oh, hey, it is Yolei and… yuck, it's Willis," Davis said.
"Don't worry; I miss you, too," Willis said, sarcastically.
"Can you give us more information about the situation at hand," Cody asked Yolei.
"Yes, of course," Yolei said. "As you can see, there are still several people here who are trapped in the fog and cannot see where they are going. We need to assist them so they can get out of there as quickly and safely as possible. We've been asking our Digimon to help take care of any Shadows that are in our way, but they're starting to grow tired as more Shadows keep popping up."
"That's what you're calling those weird things with masks on, right," Davis asked, looking at fight between the Digimon and the Shadows. "Well, in that case, backup has just arrived to save the day."
"I'm sure with our help, we can ease your burdens and even out the workload to make this mission more successful," Cody replied.
"We're going to need all hands on deck," Willis said. "You think you can keep up with us?"
"Excuse me," Davis questioned. "Do you know who you're talking to? We'll show you how we get the job done, right, Veemon?"
"It's been a while since I went all out," Veemon said. "This will be a great warmup."
"Armadillomon, can you assist us in rescuing these people by taking care of the shadows," Cody asked.
"Leave it to me," Armadillomon replied. "I'll show them that my armor isn't just for show."
"Alright, let's continue to save everyone," Yolei said.
"You got it," Davis replied.
"Veemon, Chariot Arcana Digivolve to… ExVeemon," Veemon shouted.
"Armadillomon, Justice Arcana Digivolve to… Ankylomon," Armadillomon shouted.
"What's going on over there," Catherine asked.
"I think more Digimon just showed up," Rosa replied.
"It's Cody and Davis," Derek said. "We can definitely use all the help we can get."
"Vee-Laser," ExVeemon shouted.
ExVeemon fired a laser from his chest to wipe out some of the hovering Shadows.
"Tail Hammer," Ankylomon shouted.
Ankylomon used its iron-spiked tail to knock all of the sturdy-looking Shadows to the side to clear a path for Cody and the others.
"Okay, so how does this work," Davis asked, checking out his attire.
Unbeknownst to him, Davis turned on his wings and jet boots and started flying.
"I can fly," Davis surprisingly questioned. "I can fly! This is great!"
Willis shot a Shadow coming from behind Davis as he was cheering himself on.
"Don't get distracted so easily," Willis said. "Just rescue the civilians as best as you can."
"Alright, I get it," Davis rolled his eyes. "But, that doesn't mean I can't have a bit of fun, right? Still, everyone else is carrying something cool. I wish I had something I can use as a weapon. I guess these gloves will do. Alright, let's see how hard I can punch those Shadow things."
Davis flew over to one of the airborne Shadows and struck it with his fists. The strike was so powerful that it knocked the Shadow into several other Shadows, sending them flying and dazed.
"Wow, did I just do that," Davis questioned, looking at his gloves. "This is amazing. I feel incredible."
Once the Shadows regained their composure, they started chasing after Davis, who flew away in a hurry.
"Don't worry, Davis, I'll save you," ExVeemon said, flying towards him.
"Can't he grow up for just a second," Yolei asked in disbelief.
"That's asking too much from him," Willis replied.
As Willis, Yolei, and Cody tend to more people, a couple of Shadows blocked their way towards the edge of the fog.
"Leave this to me," Cody replied.
Concentrating on his blade, Cody swung his short sword at the Shadows, cutting them apart.
"Thanks, Cody," Yolei said. "Let's keep moving."
"Right," Willis replied.
"Garudamon, Slide Four-Card Arcana Evolution to… Garudamon X," Garudamon shouted.
"Great Spirit," Garudamon X shouted.
Carrying a large totem pole in its hand, Garudamon X threw the totem pole like a javelin at the two Tai statues and crushed both of them at the same time.
"Are you two okay," Garudamon X asked us.
"We're okay," I said.
"Thank you so much," Kari said.
"Stop protecting her," DarkLadyDevimon said. "She isn't worth protecting."
"MetalGreymon," I shouted.
"I'm ready, Tai," MetalGreymon said. "MetalGreymon, Slide Four Card Arcana Evolution to… GreyKnightsmon!"
"How dreamy," DarkLadyDevimon said. "He is so my type."
"Gigas Spiral," GreyKnightsmon shouted.
With the giant spear in its hand, GreyKnightsmon spun the spear like a drill at the two Tai statues, destroying both of them in the process.
"My two Tais were destroyed," DarkLadyDevimon questioned. "No matter; there's a new toy that I want. I'm going to make you mine, and no one will stop me! Darkness Wave!"
DarkLadyDevimon summoned more bats from its chair and ordered them to swarm at Garudamon X, GreyKnightsmon, Kari, and me. Garudamon X and GreyKnightsmon covered Kari and me as the bats attacked us.
"Kari and Tai are in danger," Teddie said.
"Garudamon, get those things away from them. I know you can do it," Sora said.
Garudamon X used its giant wings to blow as many of the bats away as it can.
"Eagle Claw," Garudamon X shouted.
Garudamon X charged at DarkLadyDemimon and kicked it upwards, destroying the chair in the process. The strength of the kick knocked DarkLadyDevimon towards the ceiling.
"Now's our chance," Izzy said.
"Gigas Cannon," GreyKnightsmon shouted.
"Shadow Wing," Garudamon X shouted.
"Horn Buster," MegaKabuterimon shouted.
"Fire the Tomahawk," Teddie shouted.
GreyKnightsmon, Garudamon X, MegaKabuterimon, and Kintoki-Doiji unleased their attacks at DarkLadyDevimon, creating a large explosion. The attack was too much for DarkLadyDevimon to handle, disintegrating it as Shadow Kari floated down to the ground. Before I could go after Shadow Kari, Kari ran up underneath her. Before I was able to say anything, Sora stopped me, wanting Kari to take care of it on her own. As the Digimon returned to their Rookie form and Kintoki-Douji reverted into a card, Shadow Kari slowly fell onto Kari's arms. Kari dropped to the ground and hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry for ignoring you all this time," Kari said. "You must have done through so much pain. But now, I know that your feelings and my feelings are one of the same. You… are me."
Shadow Kari nodded and reciprocated her hug. Shadow Kari floated back into the air. A warm light blue aura surrounded her, disintegrating her and releasing the sealed Digimon and tarot card associated with it. Gatomon floated back down into Kari's arms.
"Kari," Gatomon said.
"Oh, Gatomon," Kari said, squeezing Gatomon tightly. "Everything is okay now. You're safe. That's all that matters."
A card with the number "19" floated down towards Kari.
"Is this what I think it is," Kari questioned.
She reached out towards it, and the card disintegrated, embedding its power onto her.
"Thank you for rescuing Gatomon, everyone," Kari said.
"What are you talking about," I asked.
"It was your courage and bravery that allowed you to see the light within the darkness," Sora replied. "You should be proud of what you have done."
"Well, when you put it that way…," Kari said.
Kari tried to stand up, but wobbled and fell onto Tai's arms. Gatomon slipped from Kari's arms. Biyomon and Tentomon flew to Gatomon and helped her slowly descend to the ground.
"It's okay; I got her," Agumon said as he helped Gatomon on his shoulder.
"You alright," I asked.
"You shouldn't move so quickly," Izzy said. "You just got your strength back."
"Sorry for relying on you again," Kari said.
"What are you talking about," I questioned. "I'm your big brother. It's what big brothers do. Let me spoil you a little bit."
"Well, since you put it that way, I just might do that," Kari said.
"It looks like everything is going to be okay," Sora said.
"Not necessarily," Izzy said. "Yes, we saved Kari, but the root of the problem is still out there."
"Right, we need to figure out who's doing this and why," I replied. "We got lucky with all of us, but there may be others who might not be so fortunate."
"What are you guys talking about," Sora asked.
"Teddie claims that the same series of incidents that are happening to us have stopped with his friends," Izzy explained. "If that's true, then that means there's a separate person that's making the Shadows not only grab Digimon into the TV World, but also order Digimon like Astamon and Beastmon to bring people into the TV World."
"And unless we find the one who's capturing everyone in our city, this nightmare is never going to end," I replied.
"As much as I want to find out who the real mastermind behind all of this is, we have to take our victories when we can," Sora said. "Right now, our top priority should be to get Kari and Gatomon safely out of here. It's not healthy for them to stay here for too long."
"Teddie, can you show us the way out," I asked.
"Of course, I can! Just follow the bear," Teddie replied.
We slowly made our way out of the exhibit hall as the lights started to dim.
