Shuusuke looked on from where he was silently watching Kagome and Eiji talk and laugh, it wasn't anything strange, but he had also seen the earlier give-and-take that had happened between the two of them. It was normal for the group to get together for Picnics, but Eiji hadn't ever made a move to grab the lunches from Kagome. As for turning away from himself, that also wasn't normal. He had always been her confidant as far as her feelings for Eiji were concerned, and he was always the one who had witnessed her own breaking heart and tear falls. So seeing her turn her head away from him...that was not normal. She knew he could read her...like a book.

Shuusuke sighed as he walked off from the others, everyone going their own ways as they got ready for another school week. High School wasn't the easiest thing for most, though he had no problems personally. Others...Eiji...had to go home and finish whatever homework he hadn't yet done.
"Kagome!" Shuusuke called out as he saw the ravenette up ahead.
Jumping, the girl turned back and smiled, "Shuusuke-Senpai, what's up?"
He ran forward and stopped besides her, not talking in some girly gossip tone, more like an 'I know you did something' tone, "...tell me what happened," Blunt as ever, Shuusuke pulled her to an ice cream parlor and pushed her into a seat.
"Couldn't wait...could you..."
He didn't answer, it wasn't a question. He just sat and waited for her to start. Her words were soft, and in the spoken softness, he could hear it...underlined regret.

"What will you do? Surely you won't keep going along with this." Shuusuke asked, his eyes open as he looked at Kagome from across the parlor table.
"I will keep going...so long as Eiji needs me."
"This will end badly, Kagome. You will get hurt, and Eiji will get hurt...what good do you think is going to come of this?"
"I don't think any good will come out of this as far as I'm concerned. I am sure I will get hurt, but I will build Eiji up so that he won't feel regret or guilt over this...he...I won't let him get hurt."
"Can you really keep him safe? Even if it's from his own feelings?" Shuusuke shook his head, the whole thing seemed like a really bad idea. And he was sure, all he would be able to do is watch as two of his friends plummeted into a dark and inconsolable despair. "If things look bad...by your standards...please come talk to me. I don't want you to deal with this alone, but I'm sure you are going to...so at least let me help you pick up all the pieces once everything is broken."
Kagome nodded slowly, watching Shuusuke stand before he left her with a small hug and a pat on her head. She sat at the table for a good ten minutes longer before standing and returning to her own home.
Stepping inside, she walked straight up to her bedroom and left everything she'd been carrying on the floor beside her door before collapsing on her bed. "My eyes are leaking again..." She pushed her face into her pillow and shook her head, 'Damn it...letting Shuusuke-Senpai into my head isn't a good idea!' She liked her Senpai, but he really did know her too well, being able to tell that she had done something with just a conversation to go by. "Eiji-Senpai...am I wrong to do this? No...I know I am...but I still want to. I love Eiji-Senpai too...I would never leave Eiji-Senpai...so I will do what I can to keep his heart happy!"
"Kagome?"
Kagome sat up in her bed and wiped away her tears, "Hai!?"
"Are you okay? You're yelling..."
Looking down at her hands that were tightly clenching her shirt, she stared curiously at them.
"Kagome?"
Smiling, she tilted her head and stood before opening her door and speaking calmly, "I'm fine...I was just talking to myself..."
"That's normal."
Kagome turned and annoyed glare at her brother who was peeking out of his own room from next door to her own room. "Scat rat!"
"MOM! KAGOME'S CALLING ME NAMES!"
Glaring at her grinning younger brother as her mother yelled up at her to leave him alone, she shut her door and pulled her homework out. She'd finished most of it, only having her reading assignment left for English, and then she'd be done, and just in time for tomorrow's start of the new week.

Rai yawned as she finished putting food on the table, it was early Monday, and she was still sleepy, but this was normal. A knock on the door had her moving out of the kitchen with a small smile on her lips. Only one person knocked on the door so early in the morning, and only because he knew them like clockwork. "Eiji-Kun," Rai smiled as she opened the door for the catlike boy. "Breakfast is at the table, Kagome will be downstairs in a moment; she's still getting ready."
"Sankyu~!" Eiji fumbled with his bag before laying it down at the front door next to Kagome's and Souta's. He walked into the kitchen, a loose smile on his lips that didn't look like it was planning on staying for very much longer.
"Eiji-Senpai!"
"Eiji-Nii!"
Souta pushed past Kagome who had been in front of him to give the older boy a big hug, taking a seat next to the red haired acrobat.
"Hi, hi!" He grinned to Souta, turning his eyes to Kagome, he smiled to her too.
Kagome was different from her brother though. Unlike him, she could see the solemn look in his eyes. "...how are you feeling?" She asked softly as she took a spot on the other side of him. She watched his eyes drop a shade in color but his smile only got bigger.
"I'm great,"
Those words were forced, she felt them, it was killing her, but she nodded and continued to eat with her mom and brother, with Eiji chewing on his own food right beside her.
