Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goblin and the spider. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Spiderman, Marvel and Disney do.
Hobgoblin leaned down before cracking his fingers as he looked upon the warehouse.
His orange and green cloaked armor glittered in the moonlight. Lines of energy ran under the clawed gauntlets as the rookie vigilante looked upon the warehouse.
"Why do these guys work for someone who isn't evil?" Hobgoblin muttered before checking his gear. He knew very well why.
These thugs had to have a boss. Hobgoblin planned on figuring out who it was. Hobgoblin walked to his glider.
"I seriously want to know where they got their hands on something like this." Hobgoblin stated as he stepped onto the glider and fired up the jets on it.
He slowly floated down till he was above the shipping docks. The men didn't look like shipping dock workers as well.
"Excuse me?" Hobgoblin questioned the group of men. "Seeing as how a few of you have guns? I'm going to guess that you guys aren't the normal dock workers." Hobgoblin said as the group leveled their weapons at Hobgoblin.
Hobgoblin sighed and leapt down off his glider which flew around to knock into one of the thugs.
The thugs opened fire at the armored hero who leapt backwards and kicked one of the thugs to the ground.
'Really glad this armor makes me able to dodge this.' Hobgoblin thought as he punched one of the thugs to the ground.
He sighed, he couldn't use the weapons which would vaporize the van and any evidence. He sighed with annoyance and dodged out of the way of more gunfire.
"Shoot the costumed freak!" Hobgoblin came from one of the thugs. "Now, load the stuff and let's go!" One of the thugs yelled as he rolled his eyes.
He hummed as his glider slammed into one of the thugs, knocking them to the ground. This allowed Hobgoblin to rush one of the last 2 thugs and slug them.
Hobgoblin turned to the last member of the gang who retreated inside. He blinked but didn't want to push his luck.
"Knowing me? They probably have like 50 more guys inside." Hobgoblin muttered and walked to the back of the van.
His glider landed in front of the truck. Hobgoblin grabbed the doors of the truck and yanked.
With a metallic shriek, the doors tore free from their hinges and crashed to the ground on either side of Hobgoblin.
"Glad for this suit existing." Hobgoblin muttered and checked inside the truck. He peeked around. Now interested in what could be taken that they were willing to steal besides cash.
"These guys obviously have a boss." Hobgoblin muttered to himself as he spotted several crates. "And I'm no closer to finding out who it is." Hobgoblin stated to himself before the sound of sirens started to sound.
"Ok, time to go." Hobgoblin said as he rushed to his glider. "Guess I'll have to find another lead." Hobgoblin muttered as he powered up the jets on the glider.
Hobgoblin took off into the night sky just as police cars arrived. He knew the news would have a field day about his actions. Nobody trusted or respected him.
"Everyone hates Spiderman." Hobgoblin mused to himself with a slight amused smirk on his face. "And yet the second I show up? Every person in N.Y treats me like some serial killer in a tacky costume. I need a better agent." Hobgoblin joked to himself while looking back.
He didn't know if there were more thugs inside the building. But what he did know was ever since the fall of Hydra and Doc Ock? There was plenty of criminals stepping in to fill his shoes. Hobgoblin was beginning to wish that the Hydra scientist hadn't been defeated.
"Guy with squid arms is beginning to look nice next to armies of riflemen." Hobgoblin muttered as he ascended into the sky. "I need to get home, refuel the glider and plan what to do next. There has to be another lead to figuring out who's pulling strings… And why their moving so quickly." Hobgoblin stated to himself.
The rookie superhero knew he also had to get better at fighting. The only reason he managed to defeat those thugs was because of the armor's technology.
"If that was a fist fight against someone who wasn't caught off guard?" Hobgoblin muttered to himself. "Then I'd be battered into the ground." Hobgoblin stated to himself and cracked his fingers.
"Seriously, what's so important that they'd robbing places in plain sight?" Hobgoblin questioned himself as he rushed into the air. "I mean I know there's plenty of people who don't care… But in a city filled with superheroes? You'd think at least a few of them would reconsider their odds and such." Hobgoblin stated to himself.
Hobgoblin decided not to question them till he found a motive. They weren't simple crooks looking for cash, not from what he had seen.
