Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Goblin and the spider. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Spiderman, Marvel and Disney do.

Mark brushed back his hair while letting out a hum. He knew for a fact that sooner or later? The town would come down on him hard for flying around the town.

"I need to set the record straight or something." Mark muttered as he sighed and rubbed at his temples.

He continued to walk down the hall while checking his phone. There was a new Daily Bugle video on it which he clicked on.

"In other news, some have taken to calling the new super being flying around the city of New York the 'Hobgoblin.'" Mark heard from a clearly female voice which caused him to blink.

"Hobgoblin, eh?" Mark said while the rest of the clip kept playing.

"This mysterious figure was sighted escaping a fight." The voice added before pausing a moment. "Still? This reporter believes his intentions are noble as he's only preyed on criminals. This is Mary Jane Watson, signing off." Mark heard before he closed his phone.

"See you like the bugle." Mark heard as he looked up to see a red headed, green eyed woman.

Her voice matched the one on the video. Mark smiled for a moment and leaned on the lockers behind him.

"Well, at least some people seem to think Hobgoblin isn't evil." Mark said before he cleared his throat. "Mark Easton." Mark stated as the woman held out her hand.

"I'm guessing you already know my name after watching the video?" MJ asked as Mark hummed and nodded.

"Yeah." Mark said before smiling. "So… Care to tell me why someone whose actually nice is working for JJ? You know… The guy who blames Spiderman if he has to shovel out his car from the snow?" Mark questioned which made MJ hum.

"Well, have to start somewhere if you want to become a reporter." MJ stated as Mark chuckled with amusement. "Why, what did you think about it?" MJ questioned as Mark shrugged and put his hands in his pockets.

"Well, I'm glad someone doesn't hate superheroes for trying to protect people." Mark responded while letting out a shrug. "But I do have to ask… What makes you think Hobgoblin is so good? I mean, I'm sure he apricates it… But it is weird hearing someone not throwing him into the wind." Mark put in and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

MJ hummed and nodded before clearing her throat.

"Well, Hobgoblin did take down a crime ring at those warehouses." MJ pointed out as Mark blinked.

"And how would you have gotten a picture like that?" Mark questioned with a smile.

The bell rung which caused both teens to turn and sigh as they both knew that next class would be boring.

"Well, it was fun meeting you, Mary Jane." Mark said before he turned and walked to his next class.

MJ raised an eyebrow at this, wondering what happened.

(Several hours later)

Mark rubbed at his eyes and walked to the other side of the house.

"Oy, no closer to finding out who is behind this crime wave." Mark said and crossed his arms with annoyance. "Seriously? Every time I seem like I'm finding a lead? Then it takes a curve right into a wall." Mark stated to himself.

Mark wondered what would happen next. If an actual superhero attacked him out in the field? He'd either be taken down, or he'd be forced to abandon a lead he needed.

"How does Spidey deal with everyone wanting his head?" Mark questioned and turned to the side. "Seriously, where are all these guys coming from?" Mark asked himself as he hummed.

Mark looked at his gear which sat in the corner. He sighed and hummed.

Mark wanted to go and find another lead tonight. He supposed that if he could find ONE lead, it would help.

"Oy, I wish I had superpowers." Mark stated to himself before he went to don the Hobgoblin gear.

He wondered what would help him take down the man behind this crime wave.

"Maybe I could talk to Spiderman." Mark stated to himself before wringing his hands. "Or Spiderman could throw me in jail. I need to get something that can clear my name… Or at least make it easier to get around town." Mark said and patting the glider.

He wondered when would be a good time to get out and onto the streets.

"Well, I should get out before talking myself to death." Mark muttered to himself as he donned the army slowly.

Mark cracked his fingers and hummed while blinking. Mark sighed and slowly stepped onto the glider.

"Well, it's time to give New York another taste of Hobgoblin." Mark stated as he blinked and continued to don the armor.

Mark blinked and opened his eyes while he donned the mask. He remotely powered up the glider and flew out the window.
