Chapter four
Night Two
Jamie had tried to convince him to just go home, but Leo had shaken his head and just went to the doors, the young man had then come over to try and talk him into eating.
"Look, you are going to be there till six, just come with me and eat something. Okay?" Jamie tried, but Leo saw what he was doing, he was trying to delay him. So he could convince him to not return to work.
"Jamie. I need the money." He took a breath. "I will see you tomorrow. Okay?" He unlocked the door and went inside. Glancing back he saw the retreating form of Jamie.
The guard couldn't help but morbidly wonder if he could keep that light promise.
He shook his head and slapped his cheeks.
"Okay, you can do this. No suit stuffing tonight." That he said loudly and pointedly toward the still animatronics on stage. They didn't move a muscle. Somewhere in his head he knew that they were listening to him, and they wouldn't try and counter him. "That's right you buckets of bolts. I am perfectly fine staying like this." He continued and then smirked a bit venomously and flipped them off. The guard turned and headed for the security office, the darkness reminding him that he once more did not have a flashlight.
****it c'mon Leo…
He took a breath and moved to turn into his office when a sudden ominous laughing noise made him freeze in place. With his blood running cold, he froze in place listening to the laughing, it was deep, a baritone, mildly through his haze he wondered how he knew what a baritone sounded like. But he was far too afraid to focus on the odd tidbit of info. His eyes locked onto the area before him, he could hear his heart pounding in his ears. The blood rushing through his body like the coast he had been taken too once. Fierce and cold…
The laughing faded out and Leo shuddered, it had been mocking...amused. He swallowed suddenly feeling quite humbled. Entering his office he sat in his chair. Getting adjusted he pulled out his jacket and tied it around his waist. It wasn't cold enough to need it now but that day will soon come, he knew it.
He nearly screeched like a startled cat when the phone went off. Letting out a breath he started cursing under it. It took him a few moments to calm down, hand to his heart before he accepted the 'call' and put it on speaker. While they played, he started looking through the cameras, and ignoring how badly his body shook.
"Err, hello! Hello? Uhh... well, if you're hearing this, you made it to day two. Uhh, congrats! I-I won't talk quite as long this time since Freddy and his friends tend to become more active as the week progresses." Leo shifted in his seat flickering through the cameras, Mike had said something similar.
When he reached the stage camera he stiffened up, breath catching in his throat. The bunny was already gone. In a fit of stress and panic, Leo whipped to either side checking the lights on each door. When there was no sign of hare, the guard fell back into his seat with a huff of relief. This night already felt so much more intense then yesterday. Was this how it went?
...or was the bunny mad?
With that unnerving thought he turned back to the cameras, he swallowed and bounced his knee anxiously at the sight of him in the back room. If he followed the same pattern, next would be the dining room.
"Umm...you might need to go ahead and peek at those cameras while I talk; just to make sure everyone is in their proper place, ya know? Uhh, interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn't come off stage very often. I heard he becomes a lot more active in the dark , though, sooo hey, I guess that's one more reason not to run out of power, right?" Leo took a deep breath flickering through the cameras. Right the stupid power thing.
"I also want to emphasize the importance of using your door lights: uhh, there are blind-spots in your camera views and the blind spots happen to be right outside your door, so if you can't find something, or someone on your cameras, be sure to check the door-lights. Uhh, you might have only a few seconds to react, but...not that you would be in any danger of course, I'm not implying that." At that Leo couldn't help but roll his eyes a bit.
"Sure you aren't…" he shook his head and looked through the camera's, tensing when he saw Bonnie in the supply closet...was that part of the pattern? He couldn't remember…
Why did it feel like this night was already falling apart? It had just started!
The guard shook his head with a breath before going through the cameras. Chica was still on stage, good, at least she wouldn't be bothering him right now. The other two hadn't moved, though he didn't expect Foxy to move. He was broken after all. Taking a deep breath he decided to check on Bonnie again, first he checked the dining room, then the closet, backstage and even the hallway...
But he was nowhere.
Suddenly Leo swore heavily and scrambled back as a purple paw entered his vision, the guard pressed himself against the other wall as the rabbit started coming into the room, his movements were more lumbering then Leo remembered, he seemed to be dragging one of his large feet behind him. His ears were drooped low and his eyes were shifty and unfocused. Glazed over, and that seemed so much more haunting then when they were aware. Leo hissed swears as he pressed himself further against the wall, the chair tilted too much at the pressure on one side and sent Leo to the ground. Scrambling to get up again only to slip and fall back on his butt. Leo tried to swear but it was caught up in his throat as Bonnie grew closer.
"Now wait hold up! You didn't even give me a chance!" He protested trying to sound indignant but it sounded weaker than he intended.
"C...ch...che...cheater..." a robotic stuttering voice came out of the opened maw of the robot. Leo froze, staring at him with wide eyes.
"W...what…?" He stammered out pushing himself further against the wall as the animatronic came closer. Again...Leo couldn't help not notice how much he was struggling...
That didn't make any sense! He had seen this lumbering oaf move faster than a mouse being chased by a cat!
"Ch...cheat...cheater..." the raspy stuttering was starting to clear up, the bunny dragged his left and almost unresponsive foot forward. Leo felt himself trembling like a leaf in the wind.
"I didn't cheat!" He cried in response, why was this guy so big?
Leo was pressed against the wall and ground, heaving for breath and struggling to push further against the wall. The animatronic loomed over him reaching out his paw, fingers outstretched. Leo was heaving for breath and threw up his arms in defense, as if that would do anything.
"I didn't! I didn't! I DIDN'T CHEAT!" He screamed as he felt the tips of his furry fingers brush against his arms.
The sudden banging of pots and pans made them both freeze. Leo had never been more relieved to hear the sound of the percussionist animatronic in the kitchen.
But then, making him let out a strangled noise Bonnie grabbed one of his arms and hauled him to his feet roughly. The animatronic began dragging him away, and Leo felt himself panicking. No...no this couldn't be happening! Why didn't he listen to Mike and Jamie?!
He struggled wildly, even using Bonnie's grip to hold himself up and kick the robot, but it did nothing.
Though if he had been less panicked, he would've been able to make out the slight noise that came from the purple rabbit at his kicks.
"Let go! LET ME GO!" He shouted as loud as he could, he was nearing the point of screaming for his life. Especially when Mike's limp and paralyzed body entered his mind eye.
"***K ***K ***K***K***K!" He screamed at the robot, but it was to no effect, Bonnie stilled hauled him off toward what Leo noticed vaguely that they were heading to the kitchen.
Oh joy so his death was going to happen there huh?
He kicked and bucked, and he felt the pain in his arm increase as the robot tightened its grip, the pain would've been more blinding if he wasn't caught in the middle of a hysterical fit.
He was suddenly thrown to the ground with such force he could've sworn all the bones in his body broke.
Or at the very least his skull when his head collided with something metal. His vision swarmed before him like he was caught in a milky haze.
Deliriously he wondered if this is where they stuffed the night guards before taking them to the back.
...he wondered if Mike had been this afraid.
He could make out the figures of Chica and Bonnie, but it was a blurred haze, like looking through glasses that weren't your own.
With trembling arms he pushed himself up something wet dripped down his face, and he honestly couldn't say if it was blood or tears.
He heard talking...were there voices…? Was it the creepy robots talking again? He didn't know, everything was swimming, and his leg felt like it was on fire. Was it on fire? Had they stuck it in the oven? Is that what they did in here, cooked them before stuffing them?
...if they did he wished Mike had mentioned that little tidbit.
A groan slipped from his lips before he could stop it. He didn't know of a part of his body that didn't hurt. Leo tried to crawl for the cabinet, maybe they would get confused again?
His efforts were truly in vain, he put more weight on the arm that Bonnie had grabbed and cried out sharply having to put full weight on the one that hadn't been grabbed.
Good thing is the pain seemed to ground him back to reality. The edges of his vision were still dark but he could see better. He grabbed the edge of the table and pulled himself up to his feet, or foot, he could only really stand on one of them.
A sudden looming presence over his shoulder made his blood once again run cold.
He should probably see a doctor about that…
Or ya know. Get a better job.
He bolstered up his courage...or stupidity. The guard could never be certain on that one.
Leo whipped around and took a hobble back. Chica and Bonnie were staring at him and when the rabbit took a step forward he took one back.
"What the ***l is going on!? I thought you were supposed to be stuffing me!" He challenged, something he really shouldn't be doing at the moment, but he didn't have any other ammunition.
"N...not...M...M...i..." Chica's voice was lighter, more feminine then Bonnie's which didn't surprise Leo with his knowledge upon her gender. But it was also nonetheless more ominous.
"W...wha...what…?" he wanted to cough, but restrained himself choking out the word instead.
The sight was so befuddling, the animatronics stood before him, blocking the exit but not advancing toward him anymore. Leo could vaguely feel his body pulsing with pain, but stubbornly ignored it. He needed to get out of this alive. Even if it meant further injuring himself.
Chica proceeded to turn and look at Bonnie, as if asking for help, but his gaze was on Leo still, and the guard felt a chill run down his spine.
It took a moment or two before Bonnie turned slightly to look at Chica, and Leo wasn't going to waste this opportunity.
He grabbed the nearest thing and chucked it right at the animatronics, when they stumbled as a pot hit them dead on. Ducking down he scrambled through Bonnie's legs. The guard pushed himself up and felt the rabbit's fingers catch briefly on his hair before he scrambled through the doorway like a mad man. Leo half stumbled and half threw himself out of the door before running for the front door. Only to body slam right into the locked doors. He swore like a sailor remembering that he locked it. The guard snapped his attention to the kitchen only to see both Bonnie and Chica had emerged.
"***k off psychos!" He yelled before going over to one of the tables. Bonnie advanced but Leo, with strength he knew was created purely from fear. Yanked up one of the pull out chairs and chucked it at the purple bot. That seemed to snap even the unmoving Freddy's attention at him. Bonnie stumbled again holding his face and Leo couldn't help but scoff.
As if that hurt him.
"I am not going in a suit and I'm not getting tricked by you ***kers!" He screamed at them before picking up a chair and holding it up legs out. The guard watched all three of them, Freddy hadn't moved but his head and angry eyes followed Leo as the young man slowly backed toward the office. Chica was partially in his way but Leo jerked away from her swinging the chair in her direction. She just watched him, although her eyes told him that she wanted nothing more than to crush him in her beak.
"STAY BACK!" He shouted when he saw Bonnie move. Freddy still remained on the stage, which Leo was perfectly fine with.
But why were they just standing there? He was barely able to walk and the chair shook hard in his hands. This was honestly a perfect opportunity to kill him...
He would have to ponder that later, because all the guard cared about was getting inside his office. Turning the corner he lost sight of them and ran for the door.
Ran may have been a bit of an exaggeration for the makeshift hobble and hopping he did.
But whatever it was called. It got him back to the office.
He collapsed onto the ground and slammed his hand onto the button making the door slam shut. He crawled over to the other door and slammed the button as well. Now with both doors closed the injured night guard crawled over and curled up with a wince.
He hid under the desk flinching at every noise, slowly losing himself within a haze of pain.
