Chapter Six...
Night Three

"Hello, hello! Hey, you're doing great! Most people don't last this long! I mean, ya know, the-they usually move on to other things by now...I'm not implying that they died. Tha-that-that's not what I meant…" Leo couldn't help but sigh at that.

"Of course you didn't buddy." After the words escaped his mouth he froze and sat up in his chair, did he hear footsteps?

Automatically he pulled up his monitor and started flipping through the cameras. He saw the back half of Chica's body slowly disappear from the view of the camera and he felt his breath catch in his throat. Bonnie was supposed to move first! That didn't make sense, the rabbit clearly had something against Leo...and to be fair he did chuck a chair at his face but still! He always moved first!

"Uhh, anyway, I better not take up too much of your time, uhh, things starting getting real tonight. Uh, h-hey listen, I had an idea: If you happen to get caught and want to avoid getting stuffed into a Freddy suit, uhh, try playing dead. Ya know: go limp. Then there's a chance, uhh, maybe they'll think you're an empty costume instead. Then again, if they think you're an empty costume, they might try ta...stuff a metal skeleton into you." Leo couldn't help but stare at the phone, either option sounded terrible and he'd rather not do those.

With a breath he glanced at the buttons to his sides, why couldn't they both have been on his right side? Why did the most aggressive animatronic always have to come from the side with his useless arm?

However, tonight he may just be in luck, with Chica moving first, perhaps Bonnie wouldn't be so bad?

He remembered the dent on the bunny's face and a part of him wondered if he had actually caused injury to the animatronic. At that thought he winced, if he did that would probably cost a fortune to fix and he did not have the money to fund that.

"I wonder how that would work..." at the voice of the overly cheery man, Leo looked back at the phone. "Yeeeah never mind; scratch that, it's best just to not get caught. Umm, well, ok. I-I'll leave you to it. See you on the flip side!" With that the call ended. Leo shook his head and started looking through the rooms again. He had to find that chicken.

The guard nearly jumped out of his seat when he looked at the right hall corner, Chica was staring right up into the camera, her head tilted slightly and beak open. Much creepier than he had remembered her being last night.

Leo shivered and went through the other rooms, he had to do a double take on pirates cove because Foxy was staring out of the curtains. He let out a strangled noise gazing at the mammal based bot. The fox stared right up into the camera, this was the first time he had seen him move...in the back of his head Leo must've concluded that because he was broken he couldn't move like the others.

Clearly not…

With another shiver he went through the cameras again. Bonnie was still on stage, which for some reason seemed all the more unnerving then when the bot was hunting him down.

He heard the normal banging in the kitchen and let out a breath. At least someone was acting normal tonight.

A shriek escaped his mouth as the screen suddenly glitched out, it filled with noise and strange warped sounds assaulted his ears. He looked around wildly before turning back to the screen, it flashed through the faces of Bonnie and Freddy before flashing two words.

IT'S ME

"What the ***K?!" he yelled and the screen cleared up just as he was about to chuck it against the wall. He sat there shaking, heaving gazing down at the tablet. Oh, not only was there freakin' giant animatronics hunting him down, but now his tablet was buggy as well?!

The warping noises lasted a little bit longer, before fading out entirely. He swallowed a lump in his throat and shakily grabbed his water bottle and took several gulps from it looking through the cameras. He jumped spotting Chica in the right hallway, and on instinct he used the back of his hand to slam the door down.

His power was at sixty and it was barely two o clock. He watched her stay there for a moment and was about to open the door to conserve his power, only for the chicken to slowly start to move, she came right up to the camera and gazed at him. Leo shuddered and put his water bottle down.

The sound of footsteps stopped him from putting the tablet down. Flicking through the other rooms he bit his lip when he saw Bonnie missing. The rabbit had finally moved, and all Leo's hopes of a bunny free night abandoned him. Moving through the room's cameras he finally spotted the purple bot backstage once more.

The little voice in his head reminded him of who he hadn't checked on in a bit.

Relief flooded into his system when he found the curtains to Foxy's attraction closed.

Good, at least he didn't have to worry about the fox. He continued to flick through the cameras the kitchen had gone silent, but he didn't hear or find Chica, so he presumed that she was probably still in there.

Up until he heard the loud footsteps of an animatronic drawing closer on his right. He stiffened and slammed the button down, wincing as pain pulsed through his ribs. The guard shouldn't have moved so fast.

"****it..." he growled before taking a breath and looking out the window, he turned on the light, wincing a bit at the loud humming noise it made. But that annoyance was short lived.

Leo yelped at the sight of Chica standing at the door, she stood outside her plastic eyes staring right into his. Rather not wanting to have a stare down with the bot he turned his attention to her beak, only to wince at the thought of that chomping down on his arm.

The guard let out a shaky breath, "just go! That door isn't going to open!" He yelled, in some vain hope that she would leave.

"W….w...h...w...her..." she rasped out, he flinched at the scratchy voice.

"Where what?! Leave me alone! I'm not dying today!" He protested. She lifted her hand and placed it on the glass. Leo watched it and her very carefully. She pulled her fingers back until it was in a claw position on the glass. The avian themed bot then dragged her fingers down the glass, creating a horrible screeching sound that made Leo duck his head and try in vain to cover both his ears.

The noise soon stopped, but it left an uncomfortable ringing in his ears. He remained curled up, head between his arms and panting hard, his wide eyes locked on the ground.

When he finally dared to look up, the chicken was gone. His arms and shoulders dropped in relief, only for his broken arm to hit the arm rest. He hissed out a swear pulling it close to him protectively. After he did he took deep and steadying breaths. Leo hit the light again to confirm she was gone, and let out a relieved breath, he opened the door and sagged back in his seat. His night wasn't over yet.

Pulling out the tablet again, Leo almost missed the sound of animatronic footsteps, he only just heard them when they picked up pace, the thumping against the ground faster than it should be. It was to his left, the cursed left side.

Before he knew what he had done he had slammed the hand of his broken arm into the button, the door slammed shut and something heavy and...metal banged against the door. It quaked and threatened to break with the new dent in it. He could only stare wide eyed, the shock preventing the pain from hitting him.

But when it did he let out a string of swears that would make a sailor wince.

Wincing, and with his broken arm supported by the other he turned to look at the dented door...would the thing even go up now? Was it just going to burn all of his power?

First off...was the animatronic still there?

Cautiously and with his good hand he pressed the light button, it flickered but showed no sign of an animatronic. He bit his lip nervously before slowly pressing the door button. It changed from green to red and the door jolted to move up...but it didn't move.

It was jammed...just as he suspected.

Would it be a bad thing? Possibly, it depended on if it was still using his power…

He turned to the tablet on his lap and glanced at the power. Only to wince visibly and suck in air between his teeth.

It was at 29% and dropping.

The clock hadn't even hit three yet.

Leo let out a series of swears he really shouldn't be saying in a children's restaurant but at the moment he didn't really care.

If he was smart, perhaps he could make it. There was no way he would be able to run like this…he had to stick it out in the office. One of the doors was stuck, all he need to worry about was the one that wasn't.

That was the plan, until he saw how rapidly the power was dropping. Leo felt his heart leap into his throat and he let out a strangled noise before looking at the door not sure what to do. Then, he took a deep breath and rubbed his face with his good hand, okay. Even if the power went out, that door was still stuck. Bonnie and the running animatronic seemed to be fond of that side, so that's two of them out of the way…

Unless...Bonnie was the running animatronic. He had finally had enough with Leo…

"Stop it Leo! Just calm down, say that it was Bonnie, okay. That is still one of them out of the way. That is a good thing. Sure, I'll probably have to pay for the door but whatever." He took a breath and rubbed his face before turning back to the tablet. Bonnie was in the dining room staring into the camera, but all Leo could see was his silhouette.

A shiver ran down his spine, everything these guys did was creepy.

His power didn't last much longer after that, when it hit three am, it finally gave out and the place powered down, Leo sat there eyes on the one door that remained opened. One of them was going to come through there, he knew it. Taking slow and deep breaths he watched the dark rectangle with such intensity he was sure he could've lit it on fire.

Leo's body tensed up at the sound of footsteps, he swallowed and bit his fist to keep from making noise, was that pounding his heart? Was it always this loud?

The footsteps drew closer and with his good leg he slowly pushed the rolling chair back, only to freeze and look down at it wide eyed.

Why hadn't he thought of that earlier?

The thundering of his heart did nothing to ease his anxiety as he rolled the chair to the front of the small room where his crutches had been placed. He grabbed a crutch and got up, the guard wheeled it so it was facing the corner of the room. With a bite of his lip he placed the crutch in his chair so it rested over both arms. Leo proceeded to place his backpack atop there and put his hat atop that.

He sure hoped they didn't have night vision.

With that he hobbled back over to the front of the room and biting his lip to keep from whimpering he crawled under the table there. The footsteps were so close now.

Yes, he was very grateful for how slow the animatronics were.

Pressing himself against the wall as much as he could, the guard watched as two yellow legs walked into the room. His breath hitched and he held it biting his lip hard and covering his mouth with his good hand. Could she hear how loud his heart was? He was pretty sure the whole world could…

Chica entered the room and spotted the chair, she went over to it and with a squawking shriek grabbed the chair and spun it around harshly. It banged against the wall making his backpack and crutch fall to the ground.

For a few beats there was silence, until the animatronic let out a enraged shriek and chucked the chair across the room.

Just above Leo to be exact.

He let out a barely audible noise and Chica froze. The only thing between him and the avian animatronic was a broken office chair. Slowly the chicken turned to look around the room. Leo barely breathed watching her, and hating that he had to.

She probably felt his eyes on her…

There was such tension in the air, Leo could barely breathe, he finally shut his eyes as the bird came over, he bit down hard on his fist and held his breath.

When he felt the fuzzy fingers of the animatronic touch his cheek, he just about shrieked in fear, it was barely suppressed by the cap that fear had placed upon his throat.

"M….M...Mi...Mik...Mike..." the raspy voice sounded so much more terrifying when it was in his ear.

Why did she want Mike so much!?

"W….w...w...whe...where..." Leo let out a mildly restrained strangled noise when he felt her fingers push against his cheek...like...she was poking him.

The guard cracked open his eyes and immediately shut them again. He had never seen Chica this close before and he never wanted to again. The cap over his voice prevented him from answering and he wasn't entirely sure he would if he could…

"W….H...WHERE?" The shout from the animatronic probably broke his eardrum. He let out a cry and covered his ear closer to her.

"T...the...the hospital! The hospital!" He cried curling up more, his fear overcoming the pain in this position, he felt something wet fall down his face as he let out choked breaths holding his head between his arms. She was going to kill him, he gave her what she wanted and she was going to kill him…

But nothing.

Nothing happened.

He felt her fingers leave his cheek and her loud footsteps retreating. Leo froze a moment before slowly looking up. He saw her just as she left the room.

She didn't even look back at him.

With that...he was alone.
