Hello! And ah! Three reviews in one day?! You all spoil me!

SilentAmbiance: Aww! Thank you so much! That means a whole lot! And I'm sure your writing skills are great! Keep at it! It took me a long while to be able to write like this! And yeah, Leo isn't going to be the biggest fan of Bonnie for awhile.

TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: (I hope I got that right sorry if I didn't!) Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it! And yes! You are right about the animatronics! That will be further emphasized as the series goes on. I have lots of plans for this, including certain characters who will be coming in as well. And yeah, Leo has a bit of a unfortunate lot in life, though this chapter will probably quickly clear up why he was in jail. Boy never seems to learn...anyways, I do have some plans for William, but he won't be coming in for a bit of time.

Monkey-man369: Aw! I'm so glad you liked the chapter and story!

I own nothing but my characters

Warning for substance abuse.

Please Enjoy!

Chapter Ten
Could this be called normalcy?

Jack had given him money to get food.

Leo had no intentions of getting food.

The night guard squinted in the sunlight as he hobbled down the street. His arm and leg was killing him, not to mention how the rest of his body ached something terrible. He probably looked like he belonged in a dumpster but he didn't really care. The practically cripple man knew exactly what he needed to get the edge off. His backpack was slung over his shoulder and he finally got to the alleyway he wanted. As expected, there was a man waiting there, Leo had called ahead using the company phone. At this point he didn't even care if his boss somehow found out. He was exhausted from that sick place, exhausted and confused.

"Whoa there Lee...you look like you died and were thrown up by ***l..." the man in the alley said as he looked over the security guard. Leo sent him a dirty glare.

"Feels like it." The younger man grumbled, and with a chuckle the dealer came over.

"Ah, the spitfire of the young, oh Lee, I've missed my best customer! Whatever happened?" The man asked as he continued to look Leo over. The night guard huffed and shifted on his crutch, he was going to get blisters under his arm. He knew it.

"You ratted me out to the cops, that's what happened." The younger man bit back, the dealer chuckled and grinned showing off his many white teeth. Leo could only presume that he bleached them.

"Oh yes, well I've ratted out a lot of people, so it's bound to slip my mind from time to time." The sly man chuckled and then turned to his vehicle, it was black, sleek, and expensive. Leo would expect nothing less from him. "Now, Lee, the usuals I presume?" The man glanced back at him, eyes only slightly above his thin sunglasses. With a breath Leo counted his money and then looked up setting his jaw.

"No. Stronger."

"Now you're speakin' my language there sonny..." the man chuckled and began to pull the various items out. Leo's eyes flickered over each one, recognizing almost all of them. He pointed to the strongest ones he could make out and handed over the cash. The man counted it, and as he did he made a big show of showing off his gun for Leo to see. At that the guard couldn't help but roll his eyes. It was so stupid, like Leo could actually get away in his condition. After a few dramatized moments of counting his payment, the man nodded and pocketed the cash.

"Please enjoy, and do return dear boy, I've missed your patronage dearly." The man smiled in a way that reminded Leo of Foxy's wolfish grin, except...this one almost seemed more dangerous.

Chalking it up to his delirious state, the guard nodded and started heading back to the pizzeria. But before he did he stopped and put it all in his backpack. Except for a bag and a pack of cigarettes, he kept those out and started taking them. Relief spread through his body and his tense posture relaxed. Letting out a soft breath, he grinned a bit, and started heading toward the children's restaurant.

By time he got there, he had finished with what he had kept out. The instinct to have more was intense, but Leo was going to save that till he was off work. He wanted to save it, save it for the lunacy of a night he would be enduring. After giving a slight nod, Leo headed instead, it was time to start his next shift.

Vaguely he heard shouting behind him, but he didn't care enough to turn around. As he entered, his eyes automatically flickered up to the stage, the bots stood still, and by the slight bowing of their heads Leo realized they were in sleep mode. He shook his head at the sight and hobbled more inside intending on hiding out in his office till his shift was over, or until someone needed him.

He heard Jamie's voice, but he remembered hearing the words 'I'm fine' escape his own mouth a few times.

Collapsing back in his seat he started inhaling some of the stuff he bought. Jamie was leaning on the frame of the doorway.

"I don't think that is allowed on this premises..." the waiter said, watching Leo inhale the powder.

"If murder is allowed then so is this." The guard countered and dragged out a smoke, before leaning back in his seat and letting out a long breath, the smoke puffing out of his mouth.

"Leo...there are kids here." The younger man protested albeit weakly.

"My point exactly Jamie." Leo countered gazing at him before flashing a toothy grin and letting out a breath. "Don't worry kid, I'll only do it in here."

Jamie didn't look certain, but knew he couldn't stop him so he just nodded and left the room. Leo let out another breath of smoke. He sat there, letting the drugs calm his nerves.

The day passed fairly smoothly, there were a few scuffles between kids here and there but Leo only had to intervene once. That was only because it was clearly a bullying situation was going on.

As the guard hobbled over he resisted the urge to smack the offender upside the head. The older child had a fistful of none other than Henry's shirt in his hands. The younger boy had a black eye, and his blond friend was being restrained by a few of the other goons.

"What is going on here?" The guard asked, the older looking boys looked up at him and froze.

The one holding Henry set the boy down with dramatized gentleness, "n...nothing sir!"

"Mmhmm, Henry?" Leo turned his gaze to the boy who was already being attended to by the blond.

"I...it was nothing s...sir..." The boy stammered his eyes on the ground, however the way that the child fidgeted, and...from personal experience, he knew that this was just to get the adult to go away.

The guard opened his mouth to protest, when a woman came over, she was black haired, and at a quick inspection Leo noticed that she clearly was the mother of the bullying child.

He swore in his mind.

"What is going on here?" The woman demanded putting a hand on her son's shoulder. He jumped a bit before looking back at her, and seeing the look on her face seemed to bolster the child a bit.

"Ma'am I was just coming over to make sure everything was okay." Leo assured watching her from under his bangs.

She was tall...even for a woman.

"Everything is okay, my goodness, people just never let boys be boys now do they?" She huffed and looked at Leo critically, the guard hated how it made him shrink a bit.

He could yell curses at any animatronic any day, but when it came to people whose height loomed over him...

"...ma'am, I'm not saying these boys can't have fun, but we want this to be a safe and fun environment for all children." He emphasized, only to watch as one of her brows arched in a...very judgmental way.

"If that were true they wouldn't have put a hobo like you in charge of security." At her tone he flinched and took a deep breath.

"Ma'am I'm not a-"

"I've seen you sleeping out back young man, you smell like garbage and never in my life have I seen dirtier bandages." She continued cutting him off. Leo set his jaw and took a deep breath. Stupid lady and her stupid observational skills.

"I work the night shift as well, I have to take naps and I don't have time to go back home." But the woman only smiled...patronizingly.

"Sure you do hun."

His free hand curled into a fist and he was reminded once again why he avoided people like the plague.

"Please just make sure your son behaves or he will have to leave the restaurant." Leo felt his spine straighten a bit as he gazed at her, biting the inside of his cheek to stop himself from full on scowling at her. She gazed at him a long moment before sighing and turning to her son. Though she looked really reluctant to do so.

"Be nice to the other boys Tanner." The boy smiled up at her, with a sudden innocent and younger appearance to him.

"I will mom!" She nodded and sent Leo a look that basically told him she thought he was stupid. The guard took a deep breath to relieve the tension growing in his body. The mother then turned and went back to the table where she sat with her friends. Her son stood there smugly, Leo watched the mother until she was looking away and then he looked at the boy, his eyes narrowing.

"You ***king start bullying again, and you will be kicked out of this restaurant faster than you can call for your mommy." The boy flushed at that and the other kids giggled, he looked at them before hurrying away. Leo couldn't help but smirk a tad and hobble back over to his area.

He didn't see Henry and the blond look at each other and then at him before grinning and heading off to play.

The rest of the day was quiet, and when he was finally relieved by the temperamental evening guard, the younger of the two guards waited till no one was watching and left through the back door in the kitchen with his backpack.

Once outside he proceeded to go over to where a large dumpster sat. It was a bit away from the door, but enough that a good amount of the noise was muffled. Leo let out a slow breath and sat down on the makeshift bed, made of a few blankets and old pizza boxes. It took him a moment, and the assistance of his crutch along with the trash bin in order to sit down comfortably. When he did, the guard started removing the contents of his backpack. There was a lot here and he was never more glad to see it. A good portion of the money he had been saving for this had disappeared once the hospital bills came up and the broken door had also eaten a chunk.

"Thank you Jackie boy..." the guard sung as he lit a cigarette, after the pain faded enough to move he slipped on his jacket and sank into its warmth.

The rest of the evening, he spent out back burning through everything in his bag, both literally and figuratively. When the sun had set, the street lights came on, and he watched several cars drive away, he decided it would be best to go inside. It took many slurred curses and falling to finally get to his feet. Hobbling on his crutch, the guard entered the back door. The pain was gone and it felt so good. The cleaning crew was just starting their shift, Jack waved and Leo could only give a nod in return. The eyes of the animatronics tracked him, but he didn't care. The guard went over to one of the recently cleaned tables and sat down. He mumbled something that sounded like sleepy-time before he rested his head on his arm and drifted off.

The animatronics watched as the cleaning crew left for the night, the guard hadn't woken up, not even when Jack called to tell him about their departure. Once the doors shut and the generator for the night turned on. Bonnie was the first to get off the stage, the door to pirates cove opened up and out came the fox. Chica got down as well. Followed by Freddy who went to look around and make sure they were in fact alone. It was strange for them to get off the stage this early in the night. This was against their normal patterns, and it took Bonnie a moment to stop himself from weaving through the tables, and Chica resisted the urge to go to the kitchens.

The hare was the first to approach the guard, and leaned over lightly poking his cheek. This was before he looked up at Chica and shrugged. "He's ou-"

"Poppycock!" The guard suddenly yelled lurching into a sitting position. He looked around dazedly before focusing on Bonnie. The animatronic blinked, staring back at him, his ears lifted and the bot tilted his head.

"Leo?" But the human got up and walked...on his broken leg and over to the stage sitting down on the edge, after using his severely broken arm to help himself up. He gazed at them and grinned eyebrows raised.

"So, what's the plan for tonight eh? I sure hope our relationship has moved past the attempts to murder me." He flashed them a grin that looked a bit alarming with the shadows crossing over his face. "After all, I wouldn't look very good as a big and bloody mess now would I?"

"Um, are you alright?" Chica asked coming over, Leo looked over to her and abruptly, startling the hen and hare when he jumped from his sitting position to a standing one atop the stage.

"Perfect! Wonderful! Never felt better! Sheesh, mother hen much?" Then he grinned at his own joke and started walking along the stage, stumbling and swaying dangerously as he continued to put weight on his bad leg.

"Leo! You shouldn't be doing that..." The bunny advised his ears drooping, he wanted to go over and grab the human, but would he freak out and fall anyways?

"Aye lad, you're leg is nowhere near healed..."

"Oh? And whose fault is that? Huh?" The guard looked at them from under his bangs, "I wasn't the one who broke my leg...and arm...and ribs..." At each part of the body the bunny winced glancing to the side.

"Lad...that isn't fair." The fox warned glancing at Bonnie.

"But breaking my body is?" The human huffed and turned back to his unsteady walk on the edge of the stage. "Don't feel too guilty, Bon you..." he trailed off, stopping and frowning. "Wait...can robots feel guilt?"

"Well it's complicated we-" the chicken started only to stop at Leo raising his hand up to cut her off. She blinked, staring at him.

"It wasn't a question needing an answer." She closed her beak and nodded tilting her head. "Anyways...I meant..." he trailed and glanced at them from once again under his brows, this time he smirked...ruefully. "You aren't my biggest nightmare bunny." They blinked and he started his unsteady walk again, something that made the three of them fidgety wanting to grab the foolish human before he hurt himself…

"Place is empty, normally the night guard checks this but seeing how he is passed..." the bear trailed off as he caught sight of their guard. "...what did you do?" He turned his attention to the other three but they could only shrug helplessly.

"We didn't do anythin' he woke up and leaped onta the stage before any of us could stop 'im." The pirate summarized, the bear nodded after a moment before going over to the stage and climbing up onto it.

"Leo, you can't keep walking on the leg you broke, you've been hobbling on it all week."

The bear tensed when the human whipped around, he tilted his head and squinted at the large mammal.

"Ya kinda fat ya know that?" At that Freddy blinked, and looked down at his torso, hands going there. The guard then turned and motioned vaguely to the others. "So are they, but Foxy...Foxy over here, yeah he's thin." The guard nodded to himself, and the animatronics took note of how glazed over his eyes were. Well, three out of four, Freddy was still staring down at his casing.

The man proceeded to giggle deliriously, "daddy called me fat." then he motioned in the air his brow furrowing, "but no...no, shush, don't tell anyone." he slapped his cheeks with both hands, "mmm...bad Leo...shush…" he then paused and looked at the bandaged one. He hummed and rubbed his face against the dirty fabric.

"...he has never acted like this before." The bunny muttered watching the human, Chica looked at him and shrugged.

"Maybe he has? I mean we only know him from constantly hunting him down..."

"But ya guys watch him durin' the day lass. Shouldn't these behaviors be a wee bit obvious?" The fox implored.

"Perhaps he's finally snapped? He has always kinda been on the more frazzled edge..." the purple hare muttered holding his lower jaw as he gazed at the human who continued to rub his bandages against his face.

"That doesn't matter! He needs to get off his leg, he shouldn't be standing right? He has to use a crutch to walk...so that means his leg is bad..."

"Leo," the bear started as he finally tuned into the world around him, "I think you should get off your leg."

"Ugh…! Why do you care…!?" The man asked, turning to the bear and swaying, far too close to the edge. He motioned his good arm wildly, "it's not like we are friends! You told me we are on a truce. And that's you'd be 'watching me' as if I am some sort of creepo!" he waved a hand at them wildly before letting out a breath and wobbling before his eyes rolled back into his head and he started falling. Freddy, being the closest, ran over and grabbed the human before he fell.

Bonnie got up on the stage and went over to the human as the bear gently laid him down. "What happened?"

Foxy shook his head, arms crossed, "ya can never be too sure with humans..."

"Should we call a doctor?" The bird asked looking at all her comrades, the bear shook his head.

"We can't."

"Well shouldn't we call someone?" The avian continued stepping forward, "we can't just leave him like this."

"Chica, go get some water from the kitchen, Foxy clear off one of the tables." The bear ordered, and the rabbit's eyes widened, he whipped around just as the fox swept all the hats off the table in one fell swoop. The bunny's ears drooped as he mimicked a sigh.

"You couldn't have just placed them on another table?" He whined, and the fox grinned bearing all his teeth.

"Of course not!"

The bear brought the human over and laid him on the table, it wasn't long before Chica returned with a pitcher filled with water.

"What are you wanting to do with this?" The bird asked as she handed it over to the big mammal. Bonnie tilted his head watching as the bear picked it up and turned to the rest of them.

"Stand back." He ordered and after a moment of glancing at one another they stepped several feet back.

Not even a moment after they did, Freddy proceeded to dump the entire pitcher of water onto Leo.

"***king ***l!" The guard cursed sitting up and swearing several times more, he looked at himself and huffed hard. "The freakin' ***ker..." he swore and groaned holding his head.

"Leo? Are you with us?" The chicken asked and the human looked up from under his wet bangs.

"Yes." The guard took a deep breath and rolled his shoulders. "Okay, fine, I'm up and off my feet. What is going to happen tonight? Cause I'm not in the mood for talking or staring at each other blankly. Cause frankly, your stares are super creepy." The last part he mumbled, now trying to ruffle his hair to get rid of the water a bit.

The bots paused and looked at each other blankly, they really didn't know. They had spent all their time hunting down guards or working.

"Ya got any ideas lad?" At the question Leo paused and tilted his head thinking, and after pursing his lips the guard turned to them.

"Ya ever played poker?"

The looks on their faces was answer enough.

Leo wasn't particularly fond of their close proximity, and he hated how tall they were even sitting down. Well, most of them were sitting down. Foxy was pacing as the fox held his cards and scratched at his chin with his hook. He was mumbling something, but it was barely audible. At least to Leo, he did not know the range of hearing for the bots. The game was going surprisingly well. But to be fair, Leo's point of reference was either them trying to murder him again, or playing the game.

So anything other then murder was considered to be going well in his books.

"You're so good at this, do you play a lot?" The chicken asked, looking at the small human amongst them. Leo hmmed and looked up at them.

"What? Oh uh, yeah, I played it a lot with some of my mates." At the word Bonnie's right ear raised up and he mimicked a sigh.

"Foxy I think you've corrupted our guard." The hare muttered, and the red bot looked up and over at the human.

"Aye, ya have mates too lad?" The pirate asked, and Leo blinked looking at them and then down at his cards with a shrug.

"Sort of."

"Will they ever come by? Are they nice?" The chicken asked leaning closer, Leo glanced up at her apprehensively and she tried to smile only to drop it when he flinched a bit.

"Uh...no, probably not. I don't ever see them in a place like this." He paused and took a breath, "I wouldn't ever want to see them in a place like this."

The bots exchanged glances at that but Leo was staring down at his cards. Before laying them out in the middle.

"Royal flush." The guard claimed with a smug smirk. The bots, even Foxy stared down at the hand of cards.

"B...but...but how?!" The avian demanded looking through her own cards.

"I told you, I played a lot." The guard shrugged, "plus, for robots you all have surprisingly terrible poker faces."

Freddy was rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "I see, so it's a very deception oriented game..." His brows furrowed a bit, and Leo glanced over to him.

"Yeah..." It was both interesting and alarming to watch as the bot seemed to grind his teeth together as he thought.

Even though they were on seemingly good terms now, Leo couldn't help but always pay attention to how...deadly they seemed to be built. Foxy's teeth...weren't actually sharp as they seemed to be all those nights watching him. But his hook certainly was. The other's teeth were blunted, but the groans of Freddy's jaw as he ground his teeth made Leo a bit dizzy as he realized the strength of their bite.

Why? Why was that necessary? Why was Bonnie so strong? Why did Chica need teeth? These just seemed...so unnecessary for entertainers.

Were...they meant to hurt people?

"Leo?" The robotic and yet so remarkably human sounding voice of Bonnie made Leo jump. The human cast his gaze to the rabbit.

"W...what?" He stammered.

"You were staring at Freddy's teeth..." The chicken mumbled, her brows drawn down sadly.

"I...I was?"

"Yea, ya alright there lad?" The fox asked, his voice a little too much behind Leo for his anxiety to take.

The human was on his feet before he even realized what he was doing, the bots stared at him brows either furrowed or ears drooped.

"I uh...I need some water..." Leo muttered before looking around for his crutch, the pain had started to return, and idly he realized that walking on a broken limb likely wasn't his brightest moment.

"Lookin' for this lad?" The fox asked and suddenly his crutch appeared before him. Leo looked up at the pirate and then down at his hook and nodded dazedly.

"Y...yeah..." That was mumbled, he took his crutch and hobbled off the stage and to the kitchen. He was shaking again, and he felt stupid for doing it, they weren't threatening him, and he had been merely playing a game with them…

He was acting stupid, and he actively glared at his hand as it shook, he shook it out forcibly and then cursed himself for leaving his backpack out back. It had his water bottle in it.

After retrieving the bag and container he came back inside only to stiffen and freeze up at the sight of Chica reaching into one of the cabinets. She was fishing through the pots and pans, making a lot of noise, and Leo wasn't actually certain if she was going to get anything out or not.

Was this what she did when she was in here?

The guard tried to sneak past her and get to the sink, only to stiffen up when his crutch hit one of the pans she had pulled out. The chicken froze and Leo inhaled silently watching her.

But the hen got her upper body out of the cabinet and stood up gazing at him, "oh, hey Leo!" She greeted with a smile, the guard nodded in return.

"Hey Chica." Letting himself breathe easier the human went over to the sink and started filling up his water.

"...do we still scare you?"

The sudden question made him jump slightly, the guard swallowed and tried to replenish the water that spilled at his sudden movement, "I uh..." was he supposed to say yes? No?

"...I'm sorry, it's a stupid question." The avian muttered and Leo glanced back at her, she had her head down and hands clasped before her, nudging the ground with her talons. "I just...well, we aren't trying to be scary...not now at least. We really aren't going to hurt you..." She trailed and Leo sighed turning off the faucet. He didn't however turn around.

"I would be lying if I said I wasn't...and...I can...see that you are...trying...but..." he trailed and took a deep breath. "...this is still incredibly freaky. Not even yesterday, I was fearing that one of you would snap my neck." He gazed down at his water bottle and the lid, luckily he had taken the lid off while all his pain had been subdued by the drugs. Now? Not so much…

"...can you help me?" The question was barely audible, and his suspicions about their hearing was proven as Chica came over.

"What do you need?" At the proximity, and serious height difference Leo worried his lip a moment.

"I uh...I can't get the lid on." He muttered helplessly and showed her the container and lid. Leo felt like a child and he hated it.

"Sure!" She easily took the water bottle and with a surprising gentleness screwed on the lid. The guard nodded his thanks, fascinated by her ability to do so. How…? Shouldn't she have crushed it?

"T...thanks." He stammered out, taking it back from her. She smiled again before heading to the dining room. "H...hey hold up." He called, and she came to a stop before turning to look at him.

"Yes?"

"Um...you guys wanna play another game?" At that, he could almost see her visibly brighten.

"I'll go ask the others!" She went into the main room, and Leo was left standing there. He looked down at his water bottle and took a breath. His life had never been normal...but he felt like it just took a very strange turn, and it would only get stranger.

First semi normal interaction with the animatronics! This is only one of many!

I hope you guys enjoyed it! Again thank you so much for everyone who reviewed, followed and favorited this story! It means so much to me that you enjoy Leo and this story!

What did you guys think of the chapter? The drugs are tragically a heavy part of Leo's background and character, though he doesn't just do them for no reason, anyone have any suspicions? More about Leo and his complicated background will be revealed steadily throughout this story. What did you think of the animatronics?

I'd love to hear what you think! Thank you so much for all your support! :)
