Ah! All these reviews are making me so happy! I love reading your guys opinions and theories!
SilentAmbiance: Those are good theories! And thank you! I'm so glad you liked the chapter! I'm glad you like the animatronics as well! And yes, most certainly they are all so much in their heads. Ah! I am so happy to hear that you like Leo! I try really hard to make him as interesting of a person as possible! There is a whole lot about Leo that I am excited to share with you all! And yes! I did the cover art myself, if you are interested I have a Instagram page under the same name as this profile, there I post lots of my art, including Leo's original form in my original story!
AnimeChameleon: Thank you so much! And XD I TOTALLY get that! I have only played a few of the games, but I love watching gamers play them on youtube! Plus I've watched all of Game Theories videos, so a good portion of the lore I will be using in this comes from that, but with my own twist on things of course. I'm so glad you love it! I try and do my best to make sure the writing is edited and well done, but my apologies if any mistakes slip through!
TY4QU0I53T4I4AN6L3: That is a very good point! And I will confirm that is a portion of it, but as always, things are much more complicated with this man. I love the thought process though! And you make very good points! And whether your second theory is right or not, well that will be revealed with time. :) I love hearing all of your suspicions and opinions!
Kurama The Platinum Zoroark: Aw! Thank you so much!
I own nothing but my characters.
Chapter Eleven
Boss's Orders
"Do you think he is asleep…?"
"I don't know, he didn't pass out like before, so maybe..."
"Bon, I'd give the guy some space, ya know how jumpy he can get."
Three of the four animatronics were gazing at the small figure of their night guard, he was curled up a tad, but broken limbs were laid out a bit further than the other two. Though that was probably due to the lack of ability to bend the joints as effectively. They had been going through their third round of go fish when Leo had drifted off, falling asleep right on the stage. Freddy had quit at round six of Uno, Bonnie seemed particularly good at that one, and had won so many times, the others were soon convinced he was cheating somehow. The kids hadn't come out that night, and the bots figured it was because of all the energy they had expanded. Using anger as a guide was a lot more fueling than happiness. They had exhausted themselves the other night, and quietly the bots would admit that they were glad for it. It always hurt their joints and frames when the kids took over, they were so rough, they didn't even realize they were damaging the bots.
"Should we move him? The cleaners will be here soon...and he is in my spot..." the rabbit mumbled already feeling the urges to go and grab his guitar. The weight of the instrument was comforting in a strange way.
"But we might wake him!" The chicken protested, she tilted her head with a little smile, "he looks so peaceful..."
"All this talkin' in his ear is gonna wake him lass." The red bot pointed out gently.
"Oh right!" She pulled back and wrung her hands, "maybe we can leave him here?"
"We have work to do as well Chi." The bunny reminded, and with a mock sigh the hen nodded.
"Right."
"He can stay with me, no one disturbs my cove." They both turned to look at the fox and then back to the human.
"Well what do we do if someone asks for him?" Bonnie asked and Chica shrugged.
"We could just tell the redheaded waiter. He seems to care for him, and he knows about us." She pointed out but the rabbit shook his head.
"He might freak out, we've never spoken to anyone but Leo remember?"
"What's going on?" They all turned to look at the bear as he entered the room. Where he had been? None of them knew, and they also knew not to ask.
"Leo passed out, we want to move him to Foxy's cove, but if we do then we will have to tell someone where he is." Chica explained.
"Yes, but obviously we can't talk to them." Countered the rabbit.
"Well, what if Leo writes a note? And by that I mean, we write a note for him." The bear suggested and all three on stage looked at him before slowly nodding.
"Yeah, that could work!" The hen clasped her hands together happily.
"Yeah, it could work, if all Leo speaks in was our signatures. I don't know how to write anything else." The hare admitted and the other three paused thinking.
"Fair point." The bear mocked a sigh and adjusted his bowtie. "Well, perhaps a few words to the young waiter wouldn't do any harm. After all we wouldn't want for Leo to be fired."
"Well, lets first move the lad and then we can deal with the job." The pirate suggested, and the others nodded in agreement. Bonnie scooped up the man before anyone said anything.
Foxy went in first and the rabbit followed closely behind. As the door shut behind him the hare looked around a moment. "...I didn't realize how run down it was in here..."
The fox looked around before shrugging and sitting down on the edge of his little stage. "The cleaners are too scared to come in here anymore. I've tried to clean up a bit, cause I mean, ya know kids, they sneak away from their parents all the time. I've even unlocked the door before...in case one of them came in. But...no such luck." He motioned to himself, "I'm not exactly...friendly looking anymore." The red bot kicked the ground with his uncovered endoskeleton foot.
Bonnie's ears drooped as he watched the fox, "...I don't understand why they don't fix you, Foxy's Pirate Adventures was the most popular part of this place."
The fox's yellow eye fell upon the night guard in Bonnie's arms, "...if they fixed me, I would be faster. It's their way of giving the night guards a better chance." He admitted quieter. Bonnie paused and looked down at the human who was once again curled close to his chest.
The man seemed like a completely different person while asleep, while they had grown used to the abrasive and foul mouthed night guard, with his intense habit of stuttering and glaring at everyone. This side they had only seen once before.
Bonnie honestly couldn't be sure why the children didn't feel a need to harm Leo anymore, he was certainly glad for it. But the man didn't exactly exude comfort and reassurance. He would ask Jeremy, but the boy was far too exhausted to have a conversation.
It couldn't be just because he played with them...right?
"Ya can put the lad down over here Bon." The fox motioned to the spot next to him, where he had taken the curtains from his stage to make a makeshift bed. The rabbit nodded snapping out of his thoughts. He placed the human down and after getting up he looked at his coworker.
"I'm sure they'll fix you one day Fox..." the red bot could only give a bit of a smile back, but his ears were drooped down.
"Yeah, can't have the whole Freddy gang without me eh?" At that Bonnie nodded with a smile.
"You got that right Foxy." He waved as he headed out of the room, "I'll see you tonight alright?" The fox nodded and waved his hook in return.
Leo didn't want to wake up, he didn't want to move, and he certainly did not want to open his eyes. His tongue felt like lead, and there seemed to be cotton balls stuffed down his throat.
The guard let out a groan but still refused to move, why did he have to wake? Injuries that had been abused over the past few days ached and stung in protest of his awakening. Punishing him for his actions last night.
"Ya alright there lad?" The voice of an animatronic made Leo stiffen up and finally open his eyes, turning his attention to the crimson colored bot. Foxy was staring down at him, head tilted and ears perked up. He was sitting on his stage watching the human curiously.
"...uh..." Leo opened and closed his mouth, willing his heavy feeling tongue to work. "Y...yeah...just sore..." he trailed watching the predator themed bot. Foxy let out a chuckle grinning.
"I'd imagine so! I don't think ya supposed to walk on stuff that's broken lad." The bot chided lightly and Leo nodded his good hand pushing him up so he could sit.
"Yeah...my body is having fun reminding me." He rubbed his face, but his eyes only briefly left the animatronic who was watching him as well. "...why am I in here?" The guard asked as he glanced around the room. It was as dusty and as abandoned as ever.
The fox followed his gaze and mimicked a sigh, "we didn't want to wake you, and this is the only place that no one comes into." Foxy explained, and Leo watched as his ears drooped toward the end. The human shifted to get more comfortable. Where were his pills again…?
...oh right, he had them all along with the rest of his drugs last night.
He cursed his impulsive high side and took a deep breath, wincing as his ribs ached.
"You uh...you miss having kids in here?" the man asked, not wanting the silence to descend. After a moment the fox nodded, gazing at the pirate ship that sat in the middle of the room.
"Aye lad, it used to be the highlight of this old fox's days."
Leo looked over the crimson animatronic, the fox was scratching a bit at the rust on his knee joint with his hook. He was now gazing at the ground and not his ship.
"What...happened? How...did you break?" Leo's voice was soft, he wasn't sure how the bot would react.
There were several beats of silence, and Leo wasn't sure if the predator would answer, but the bot mimicked a sigh rubbing his hook between two of his exposed endoskeleton fingers.
"It was at the other place, we got transferred there, but our time on stage didn't last long. Us originals were quickly shelved for the newer models...and when they needed repairs. Parts were taken from us." Foxy paused a moment, and Leo decided to let him get it out before cutting in. "...Mangle needed a lot of repairs. She was a lot more popular than I." The fox took a deep breath. "When they brought us back here..." he paused a long moment, a distant look in his yellow eye. "...we were taken apart...I only remember waking up again six months later...and then this place reopening. Except, my casing was very damaged...and the technician didn't put me back together right. Probably because of some of the things I did in the other location."
Leo gazed at him quietly before down at the curtain that he realized was from the fox's stage. Shaking his head he shifted in his spot, trying to find a way to be comfortable. "...I'm sorry. Maybe I could talk to the manager?" He suggested quietly, the bot shrugged a bit.
"You can try, I doubt anythin' will come from it." The fox admitted and Leo gazed at him unsure of what to do, should he pat his shoulder? Leave him be?
"I...I should probably get back to work..." The guard muttered fidgeting a bit, the fox looked up at him before getting up.
"Yea, best make sure everyone is behavin'." He gave Leo a grin and then abruptly used his hook to grab the shirt of the guard and haul him to his feet with surprising strength. Leo let out a startled noise and didn't relax until the fox let him go.
The guard gave a bit of a nod, "uh...thanks." He looked around for his crutch, before finding it. Picking it up he got in the right position before going to the door. However he paused at the door hesitating before he opened it.
"Can I ask you a question?" The guard asked shuffling as he turned around to face the fox who was gathering up his curtain. The bot looked up and tilted his head.
"Yea?"
"...why are you guys...suddenly so nice? I mean...I presume it's because I stopped that guy...but you...just seem to be...really nice?" He took a breath, and rubbed his face.
"...I can understand ya confusion lad." The fox answered and paused in his gathering up of the curtain. He stood up and turned to face the human. "Part of it is because of that, makin' us realize that ya aren't like the other guards comin' through here...but we also haven't really spoken to anyone in a long while. I know we may be a wee bit excitable, but we really have no intentions to harm ya. We like havin' ya around, the kiddos seem to like ya as well. So that always helps." The red bot mimicked a breath and looked around, after a long moment his shoulders drooped, "they don't like being here, they get scared."
At that change in topic Leo blinked, "the children? Why?" His brow furrowed, why would they be frightened here? If it was in reference to what happened to them...didn't that happen in the other location?
"He took their lives here." At that Leo froze and turned to him.
"What? But I thought that was in the other place?" Hadn't Jamie said that children were killed there?
"...yes, but...the original children...they were killed here, and then we moved to that location. But that one was closed soon after...and we were moved back here...and...well...he took us apart. He was so determined...I can't even honestly tell you how he did it." The fox mimicked a sigh, "and well, I already told you the rest." Leo nodded and paused thinking.
"...is he still around? Like do I need to be watching out for someone?"
This guy...killed so many children…
"...I don't know. I think the kids do, but they won't say anything." Leo nodded and thought a moment before leaving the room.
"See you tonight."
"See ya lad."
It was already one by time Leo left pirates cove. The lunch rush was just winding down and the moment the door shut behind him, Jamie came rushing past looking frazzled and a bit pale.
"Uh...Jamie?" The guard asked, the redhead stopped and turned to him. He lit up and relief washed over him.
"Leo!" The man came over and let out a breath, "I thought they had done something to you! Freddy told me that you were in pirates cove but they wouldn't say why or let me in there!" Jamie took a deep breath, "oh right and apparently Freddy can say more than his lines? Did you know that?" The redhead laughed nervously glancing up on the stage where one of the songs was just ending.
"Yeah? They all do Jamie." Leo knew that Jamie didn't know that, but he liked knowing something the redhead didn't.
"...wait….they all do?" The man turned to him wide eyed, "e...even Foxy?" Leo's nod was his only response and the younger man nodded dazedly. "Oh...okay, yeah, that's fine...this is fine..."
"Really? Cause you look like you are about to pass out there kid." Leo tried to keep the smirk off his face. It was nice to see someone else frazzled by these bots. Especially since they weren't trying to murder Leo anymore.
"Y...yeah..." the teenager took a deep breath and rubbed his face tiredly. "...by the way, John is looking for you. I told him you had some tacos yesterday and your stomach was upset." At that Leo blinked and stared at him.
"Um...okay. Where is he?"
"In his office, he's had phone calls all day." The waiter responded, now seeming to calm down.
Leo cast his glance to the office that was right next to the doors, and took a breath, "mmm...maybe I should leave him alone then..." the guard hummed and Jamie shook his head.
"I wouldn't. He really wanted to speak with you." Leo sighed and nodded. He hobbled over to the manager's office. Pausing only when he heard the worried voice of John within. Leo paused a moment before leaning in and keeping silent.
"...I know what you are saying! But this facility is far too small! There is no way we can house more of them!" John shouted. The other person's voice was a bit garbled, probably because of the cheap phone…
"The warehouse is closing down and the company doesn't want to completely trash them, the funtime ones are already taking up all the space in the underground storage. They can't expand down there, but you can, we have to get them out of the warehouse by next month or the company that is holding them will trash those extremely expensive bots." The voice, although garbled, was calmer and more refined in their tone in comparison to the weak willed John.
But Leo found himself completely lost. What were the funtime ones? What expensive bots was he talking about?
"I understand sir, but our night guard is on his last legs...I am going to have to hire and train a new one soon. I can't start on an expansion now! Financially it will put us in debt!" Leo frowned at that from his boss, the man had no faith in him whatsoever.
Though with one glance at his appearance, Leo realized with a wince that he couldn't exactly blame him…
"We are already in debt. Those %$%$# lawyers are vultures. They are trying to drain every penny out of us..." Leo could almost hear the man shaking his head over the line.
"Where am I supposed to get the money for renovations?! This place isn't exactly made of money!" John protested sounding rather stressed, and Leo couldn't help but grin, he could certainly work this in his favor-
...in Foxy's favor.
"Figure it out, or we will hire another manager. " The man over the line scolded and with a thud, the call ended. Leo waited outside counting to twenty before knocking. He heard the man jump and something fall to the ground. The guard waited and a few moments later the door opened to reveal the frazzled looking manager. His blond, and graying hair was up a bit as he had repeatedly run his fingers through it. Stress lines surrounded his eyes and his brows were drawn inward deeply.
"Oh! Byrd, just the man I wanted to speak to." He motioned for Leo to come inside, fixing his hair and straightening up his tie. "I was meaning to speak to you earlier, but I was unable to find you. Fitzgerald told me that you were...um...busy in the bathroom..." He cleared his throat and took a breath. "Anyways, so, I'm certainly glad you have made it this far...but I was wondering if perhaps you could put a little bit more effort in your appearance?" The manager finished as he sat back down in his spot.
Leo's eyebrow arched, "oh I'm sorry. Is this bothering people?"
"Well, yes, in short you look like you live outside, and that you never shower. Not to mention...I think you need to go to the doctor..." the man trailed, eyes flickering over Leo's casted arm and leg.
"I've gone to the doctors. It will heal. They always do." He took a deep breath, "...but I'll work on looking more presentable." The manager nodded and smiled.
"Good...good, wonderful."
"...so, I was wondering, could we get someone in to fix Foxy? I know it will be costly, but then his room will be opened up, and I bet kids would love to see him. I know a few who would be interested." He proposed gently, his eyes wandering over the face of the man before him. The manager paused and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"That...might work, we are in need of more revenue..."
"Exactly! And Foxy can attract older children." The guard continued.
"Hm, I don't know of many people who can repair them...perhaps there is someone the company has used before..." The manager began to go through his files in his desk and Leo took that as his cue to leave. Good, they would get a repairman in and then Foxy could perform for the children again.
This action alone put a bit of a pep in his hobble as he made his way back to the dining room. It felt...nice to do something good, even though part of him did do it out of hopes that this will further encourage the bots to not make him into a corpse.
But still, it was a good deed.
Leo cast his gaze to the stage, they were in the middle of a song that Leo couldn't be bothered to remember the lyrics too. But everything seemed to be going well.
So! Some mention drops of the other animatronics! I'm excited to bring in the others! And again, if you would like to know what kind of lore I am going off of, I would suggest the FNAF theories by MatPat on Game Theory. But if you have any questions I will do my best to answer! Whether it be in a authors note or the chapter itself! Now, as the man on the phone said, they have a month. So there will still be a good portion of time with the originals and Leo to bond. Just as a warning, there will be some upcoming time skips, I didn't think a day by day account of things will be terribly entertaining, but I will make the skips as in depth as possible!
Which are you guys ready to see? The toys or the funtime? Both sets will be brought into this, but I will try and keep it in a similar order to how the games released. How do you think Leo would be able to handle more animatronics? Also a mechanic will be brought in, how do you think that will go? Also, Foxy's drop on the background, that will be brought up again as time goes on. This is kind of where the plot starts kicking a bit into gear. Some new characters will be introduced soon.
I'd love to hear what you think! And thank you so much for all the support!
:)
