Chapter 48
You sure you're safe?

Jamie was going to die of a heart attack, at this point he was sure of it.

When he received the message telling him that both Ashford and Enix were going to be gone.

Well he just about fainted. But thank goodness he didn't, because he wouldn't have seen the rest of the message.

Not only was Leo, Enix and Ashford missing, he now had strange new bots to contend with as well.

Were these guards trying to kill him?

He was getting more suspicious by the day.

Jamie had stalled in his car for about an hour now. Eyes glued to the ticking clock on his dashboard. He had arrived at eleven, and it had just hit midnight.

He had no choice but to go in.

Well. That wasn't true, no one was here holding a gun to his head and telling him he had to. But…he had told Enix that he would look after the place.

Man they owed him after this.

With a hard and determined breath. Jamie gripped his phone in his shaking hand and opened up his door. He made sure his car was locked before he opened up the restaurant and stopped inside.

The silence was more unnerving then he expected it to be.

"U…uh…guys…? Hello? Is anyone there?" He asked, raising his voice toward the end.

But he was only met with silence.

That was, of course, before the sound of many somethings crashing, a outraged scream, and the sight of the kitchen door swinging open and a purple and white Freddy come barreling out.

Jamie let out a unholy shriek that probably could've knocked out all the glass in the restaurant.

He scrambled back against the wall as the bear hardly spared him a glance. Instead he bolted and dived for under the table. Several chairs went toppling and some of them even broke.

Coming out after him was Chica, or…not Chica from what he now understood.

She was covered in some kind of powder, what he could only assume was flour. The chicken bot screeched at the bear and lunged for him, grabbing at his ankles and dragging him out from under the table.

"No! FrEDdy swEaR's it wAs a AccIdENT!" The bear yelled, but Chica-not-Chica was having none of it. She shrieked and jerked the bot around until he was on his back. Then she held up a fist and shook it.

"You broke everything! Now Charlie will be mad at us!" She screamed in a….child's voice.

Enix had informed him that something happened to the original bots causing the children to emerge instead and the bots personalities wouldn't return.

However, to be actually hearing a child's voice escape the maw of the bot was something entirely different.

A wave of inexplicable emotions raced through Jamie as he stared at Chica in a light he hadn't fully considered before.

Weren't…the originals basically walking caskets for children?

However, he was torn from his morbid thought when Freddy threw up his hands above his head.

"DoN't bE maD aT FreDDy!" He begged, and Chica huffed, crossing her arms looking to the side.

"Ugh! I don't know why Charlie said you guys could stay! You're so stupid!" She barked, and Jamie decided it was his best course of action to stay silent.

The next moment, the Puppet walked into the room. Spindle legs long and hardly bending at the knee.

Chica-not-Chica looked up and over at the new arrival with a huff, "Charlie! This not-Freddy is ruining everything in the kitchen!" She whined, and the Puppet…or as she was referred to, Charlie.

Charlie came over and stared at the two of them.

"Whose fault was it?" She asked, and not-Chica immediately pointed at the new Freddy.

"Him! He did it!" She barked, and Charlie sighed before lowering herself to a sitting position on a table behind her.

"Then you two go clean it up." She ordered, only to earn a indignant gasp from not-Chica and a whine from Freddy. But Charlie snapped her head up. "Go now." She snarled, and after a moment, the two of them went back to the kitchen, elbowing each other and quietly arguing.

Jamie couldn't help but stare quietly from where he was. Before taking a deep breath and cautiously approaching.

"C…Charlotte I presume…?" He asked softly, but it was enough to earn her attention as her head snapped to face him.

Immediately she rose to her feet and came over faster then Jamie could initially react.

The redhead yelped and stumbled back staring up at her fearfully, "Don't hurt me! Enix called me over to help watch over everyone!" He begged curling a bit in on himself.

Charlie loomed over him a moment and it looked like she was going to say something but then Foxy-not-Foxy stepped out of pirates cove, with a white and pink fox trailing after him. A white and pink fox that was not Mangle.

"Charlie! Tell him to leave me aloooonnne!" He whined running over to the puppet, and the marionette looked like she was about to respond but then regular Freddy-not-Freddy and his toy counterpart came over with Ballora trailing behind them. Then Chica-not-Chica re-emerged with the oddly colored not-Freddy arguing once again.

The Puppet looked between everyone there jerkily as they all started talking at once. Then toy Chica, toy Bonnie and original Bonnie-not-Bonnie also came in arguing loudly.

It was a chaotic mess of voices with both Charlie and Jamie stuck in the middle of multiple conversations.

Jamie backed up hands raised as the child within Foxy tried to pull him into his argument, and Charlie looked like she was on the verge of screaming.

But all went silent at the sound of the small bell at the door ringing as someone entered.

Every bot, child and worker there turned their attention to whomever disturbed the shouting.

Jamie nearly fainted at the sight.

"S…sir!" He stammered out pushing his way through the bots, luckily they didn't kick up a fuss as the redhead made his way over to the owner of the Fazbear company.

Remington Alder stood there with a small raise of his left eyebrow, he was in a full suit and tie. Clean and crisp looking and only a vaguely unimpressed look on his face.

"Fitzgerald." The man greeted and Jamie cautiously approached keeping all the bots behind him…even though they were plain to see.

"T…this isn't what it looks like sir! I was getting them all off the stage for maintenance…and their programming activated!" His voice squeaked throughout the excuse and his mind spun uncontrollably.

Why was he here!?

"I am aware of their ability to move around freely, Fizgerald." He claimed calmly before turning to look up at the animatronics. "Greetings, you may have heard about my recent acquisition of the Fazbear company. I am here because I've been hearing some concerning reports from my employees." He explained, "I hope you all understand that I mean no harm to any of you." He tried and Jamie swallowed leaving the revaluation of their boss knowing to process another time.

"I…I don't know…if you know sir…but um…something happened to the original sets…and currently it's…only the children in charge of the bodies…they really don't like adults." That last part was whispered under his breath but he knew all in the room could hear him.

"So I'm speaking to the children then." The owner concluded softly after looking at Jamie. He took a breath and turned back to them. "I'm not here to harm any of you. I know what happened to you. And I've been doing my best to make this place better for you all. I hope you can understand that." He said softly, and everyone was silent for a moment.

"Alright. Then why are you here today?" A animatronic that Jamie didn't immediately recognize spoke up. He swerved his gaze about until he spotted her, and at the sight of her he couldn't help but blink twice. It was the most human-esque bot he had ever seen. A woman well endowed, with blue hair and blue accents throughout her suit.

Interestingly enough, she had the same echoey quality to her voice as the children…

"And despite what you claim, I have heard from the bots here that the murderer…the man who created this whole mess. He was here working as a waiter. In his decrepit form. And I believe he has also taken one of your nightguards, that same night guard also released him in the first place." She continued, her voice calm but with a bite to the tone.

"I was not made aware of his actions up until very recently. I have been trying to uncover everything I can about this company to try and find out who this man might be. But everything seems to have either been buried or outright burned." Remington responded calmly.

"Well. Then let me solve one of those many mysterious for you." The bot claimed, and Jamie's brow furrowed, all the attention was on her now. Her soul-piercing purple eyes stared back at them calmly from where she was being supported by toy Chica. Her eyes were fixed on Remington, but the CEO didn't seem fazed.

"The man, the one who started all of this. His name is William. William Afton. He and his son Andrew Afton are behind everything that's been going on around here. The kidnapping of your night guard, the kidnapping of Colt Byrd's brother. And the continual captivity of non-other than Joey Byrd. Daughter and direct heir to Byrd-robotics." Her eyes flickered to everyone around her and then back to Alder. "The Byrds, William, and Henry Emily. They did this. All of it. But William is the one who ruined it all. And I know what he is planning on doing to your nightguard." She finished calmly, and Jamie couldn't help but perk up at that eyes wide.

"What? What is he planning on doing?" He demanded his heart starting to speed up in his chest.

However Alder interjected before she could respond, "if I may. Can I ask how you know all of this. I don't mean to be rude. But I would prefer it if we knew you were a reliable source."

There was silence for a few moments, and Jamie wanted to shout that it didn't matter, and just freakin' tell him what was going to happen to Leo, but the lady bot mocked a breath calmly.

"I understand. I know this, because I was there." Her eyes flickered over all the bots around her, "I was there when the Byrds and my husband created you all. And I know what is going to happen to your guard, because my husband spoke about it. So when my son came for his weekly visits and told me that his father had this plan with a young man he had taken. I realized finally that William's plan for immortality had finally reached it's endgame."

As she spoke, Jamie found himself growing a bit cross with how cryptic she was being, this was his friend's life at stake here!

"Please! Just tell me what's going to happen to him!" He pled, stepping forward.

Her eyes flickered to him, and for another agonizing moment there was silence. And when she said it, Jamie couldn't help but take a step back. Everyone fell into silence and Jamie swallowed hard eyes wide.

"We have to stop him."

"Leo, you should really eat something." Scott advised from where he stood next to the bar. However Leo just stared at the smoothie before him unable to down it.

He kept seeing and feeling flashes of that horrendous Puppet's limbs slithering down his throat.

Swallowing hard and feeling faint, he pushed the drink away and got off the bar stool.

"N…no…I'm…still full from yesterday." He whispered hoarsely, was that from lack of sleep? Or was it from…

He shook his head and didn't let his thoughts go any further, taking a deep breath he turned to look up at Scott.

"A…any chance we can play some games?" He asked hesitantly, and the rabbit man stared at him for a moment before straightening.

"Actually I think that house tour is long overdue." He claimed before heading toward the back of the house. Leo frowned and after a moment of hesitation followed.

"Uh…okay…" Why was Scott acting strangely again?

"I know this is unusual but…well, Leo there was a reason I didn't want you down in the basement. I was…well I have a surprise for you, and it's down there." At that the previous guard blinked and let out a breath.

"A surprise? Scott you didn't have to I-"

"No. No I wanted to. C'mon. I'm actually pretty excited about this." The undead man admitted looking back at him as they headed for the basement stairs. Leo blinked, there was a strange feeling residing in the pit of his gut. Like a voice whispering that there was something wrong.

But that was probably just paranoia from the dream…it tended to linger a bit.

So he nodded and allowed himself a small smile as he followed Scott down the stairs.

What could the surprise possibly be?

Maybe he got us drugs.

His long-silent friend muttered, and Leo couldn't help but blink in surprise at his sudden appearance.

However, before he had time to dwell on it, they had arrived at the bottom of the stairs. Scott put a hand on the door but didn't open it just yet.

"I just…I want you to know Leo. How grateful I am to you. You have no idea how much you have done for me lately." The animatronic man turned to look back at the now wide eyed Leo.

"Scott I-"

"No. I'm serious Leo. You have no idea." He tilted his head down in his way of smiling, "but I'm sure you will find out soon." He claimed, and an uneasy feeling grew within Leo. But he shoved it aside as paranoia.

Before he could respond to Scott. The animatronic man opened up the door and motioned for Leo to enter.

However for a moment Leo didn't move. He gazed into the unknown interior of the room which appeared to be some kind of workshop. But it was hard to tell because there was minimal light.

Something…felt wrong…he shouldn't…go-

However the next moment he wasn't given a choice as his arm was grabbed and he was hauled inside the room with a very familiar giggle.

Acid jerked him inside and Leo had to stumble in order to catch himself and look back.

Acid was bouncing from foot to foot and Scott entered the room as well…locking it behind him…and proceeding to crush the key within his animatronic grip.

The sight of that made Leo's stomach drop.

"H…hey…Scott…aren't we going to….n…need that…?" He stammered with a nervous laugh.

"Oh don't worry about it!" Acid declared before coming up next to him again and grinning broadly. Leo inched away from him, the uneasy feeling growing stronger within him.

"S…so…w…what exactly is…the…surprise?" He asked looking at Scott, but the rabbit man was at some sort of computer, his back to Leo.

"Oh don't worry! You'll see soon enough!" Acid declared before grabbing Leo's arm and taking him over to some kind of table that was lifted in a slanted position…straps on it.

Quickly realizing that this was probably what Acid was to put him on, Leo jerked trying to free himself from the grip of the man. But it was impossibly tight.

"Hey! What's the big idea?!" He barked looking back at Scott. "Scott! What the ***k is going on!?" The demand got no response as the rabbit man continued to type into the computer.

"Oh shut up and just stop being difficult!" Acid growled in a voice that Leo was not familiar with. The surprise of the crazy man's suddenly lower voice made Leo jerk to look at him.

"Aci-" he was about to ask him the questions, seeing how he was the only one who was answering, but the taller and stronger man shoved him to the table before he could get the words out of his mouth.

With a grunt Leo's back hit the metal and the momentary instability was all Acid needed to quickly strap his arms down.

Leo's eyes widened considerably and he tugged uselessly at the restraints. Confusion was flooding through him, and no one was providing any answers.

"WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!?" He screamed yanking at the restraints, Scott continued to ignore him, but as Acid was going to strap down his legs the guard wouldn't have it and planted his foot on the mans chest shoving him back.

Acid crashed back into a table full of contents behind him, everything shattered on the floor as Acid grunted trying to recover.

That seemed to grab Scott's attention as he turned to look at the scene.

Leo panted and tugged at his restraints, "just what the ***k is going on!?" He demanded, and while Scott couldn't change his expression. Leo could've sworn he grinned more.

"Well. Your purpose of course." He said, lifting his head finally and looking at Leo. "The reason I spent all that time with you." His ears pulled back as Leo stared on in confusion. "Pandered to your needs and listened to all your whining." He stepped over and gazed down at Leo, the guard curled in on himself best he could feeling quite small under those…

Wait, were Scott's eyes turning red?

Was this another dream!?

"I told you that you did so much for me. That was a little tense slip up. You will be doing so much for me." Leo frowned deeply but went cross eyed as Scott put a large finger at the center of his forehead. "So be a good boy and stay still." With that he went back to the computer and Leo hadn't even noticed that Acid had restrained his legs as well while Scott had been talking.

"Wh…what?! Scott! I don't understand! What is happening!?" He demanded tugging at his restraints once more. However there was a deep sigh from Acid that drew Leo's attention to him.

"I still don't understand why you won't just let me kill him." The man grumbled and turned to him, hands to his chest. "I can do it! I will be so much better at it! You really want-"

"Yes. I do. Now shut up and get to work." Scott snarled in a voice that made Leo flinch, brows furrowed low.

"Y…yessir." Acid responded quietly before going over and picking up a strange helmet…contraption.

Leo's stomach rolled.

"…Scott…what are you going to do to me?" He whispered, watching as Acid fiddled with the helmet.

Was this another dream? It had to be! Scott wouldn't do this to hi-

"For the love of all things." Scott snapped then turned to look at him, the once black of his eyes now blood red. "My name is William." He claimed firmly before turning back to the computer.

"Wil…William…?" Leo couldn't help but whimper out.

His mind spun, this had to be a dream…it had to be…

But…it wasn't like the others now was it?

Scott…or William wasn't in a nightmarish form…Acid was here…he wasn't in the bedroom…

"It's ready father!" Acid declared suddenly, making Leo's attention snap to him.

Father!?

"Good. Get it on his head." The rabbit man ordered before reaching up and unlatch it his own head and removing it.

Leo stared at him incredulously, but quickly had to try and maneuver away from Acid's attempts to put the helmet on his head.

"Hey! The ***k! Stop that! Would someone please tell me what's happening here!?" He demanded as Sc-William placed his head down on the table. Leaving only his endoskeleton head left.

"…Leo. You once told me that you would help me." Sco-William said, his endoskeleton jaw moving, and if this had been another time Leo would've cringed at the creepiness of it. But his priorities were elsewhere at the moment.

"Y…yeah…?" He answered hesitantly, then William turned to look at him, eyes swerving to find him and this time Leo did cringe as he tried to move his head away from Acid's attempts.

"Well I need your help now. You said it before. I need a body, a body better then this one. But the problem was…I couldn't just kidnap a person and take their form. No. That would draw too much attention." If William could grin he would've, "but a convict? A drug addict? Now who would come looking for someone like that?" Leo's mouth went dry as his slow-to-catch-up-mind drew closer to the truth.

"So…so…you're g…gon..gonna…"

"Take your body? Yes." The bluntness made Leo pause, which gave Acid the opportunity to roughly shove the helmet onto his head.

Leo winced and cried out as the metal pieces tightened around his skull.

"You were perfect. The perfect one to divide away from the others, and you already were putting a bad taste for yourself in their mouths." William continued, and Leo stared at him heaving for breath and gritting his teeth as the helmet tightened more.

"S…so…a….all…all that ti…time…"

"I was lying to you? Well yes and no. I did enjoy our time together. You aren't nearly as unbearable as I had initially presumed. But you were a lot more whiny then I had initially thought." That made Leo wince both from the pain in his head and the words.

"I thought…" he trailed with another wince.

"That I cared about you? Don't be a child Leo." That made the previous guard flinch.

"Father? It's on properly." Acid interjected, causing Leo to look at him.

William nodded his endoskeleton head, "good. Hook me up." He ordered before turning around, Acid perked up and went over grabbing a thick wire. He attached one end to Leo's helmet despite how the man pulled away. Then he proceeded to attach the other end to Sco-William's head.

Part of Leo was still convinced this was a dream, some other horrible conjuration of his mind.

But the part of him that didn't struggled against the restraints best he could. His heart thumping loudly within his chest as he watched Acid latch on the cord firmly to William's endoskeleton head.

"T…this…this is a dream…t…this is just...just a dream…l…like the others…" Leo whimpered tugging uselessly at his restraints.

"Dream? Oh no. This isn't a dream. No…but you wanna hear something funny about dreams?" Acid asked, looking back at him with an unnervingly broad grin on his face. Leo swallowed and didn't respond, but it wasn't like Acid waited for him to anyways. "The ones you've been having? Those are only…partially dreams. Those monsters…those bots. They are real…the originals. They asked me to make them. Because they wanted forms that would scare you…they are in there. In those bots…in that room. That's them. Your Bonnie…Chica…Freddy…Foxy…the Puppet…that was them." Leo felt his chest tighten up and he inhaled sharply ready to shake his head to deny it, but Acid just cackled a laugh and hopped over to the control panel.

Leo's eyes widened as he realized that whatever William had meant was about to happen. "Sc-William! Please! Acid! You don't have to do this!" He begged, but there was no point, Acid's grin dropped suddenly as he gazed at him with such hatred it made Leo shiver.

"I would've preferred to kill you. Almost did too. But father had to interfere." His lip curled up in disgust before he took a deep breath and gripped a throw switch, Leo's eyes were wide. "You better make daddy proud."

And before Leo could say anything else, Acid threw the switch and pain exploded from Leo's head. It took a moment or two for him to look past the pain and realize that he was the one giving out a blood curdling scream.

Heh…so a lot happened huh?

So yes, this is William's plan. This is what he has been planning from the beginning, ever since those days in the wall. He realized that Leo was the perfect candidate and set his plan into motion. Acid seems to reluctantly be on his side, but will he rebel later on?

For those that might be confused. Springtrap/William is basically planning on transferring his mind/soul into Leo. How? Well I don't know if you remember, but a few chapters ago, Acid was yelling at Springtrap, and he had yelled…" I've...always done what you wanted...I've always...done everything to make you proud of me. I've done things I don't even know how to do! But I figure it out! I even put the thing in that stupid guard's head for you! Neurosurgery! But do you care!? Have you ever cared!?" -Acid - chapter 43. The 'thing' that Acid put in his head was a chip. Like a computer chip. It is the thing that contains the souls of those who have died near the suits. Something that Charlotte mentioned… "We wanted to forget about him, we didn't even know if he was alive or not anymore. I had suspicions, but we didn't know for sure if that was even going to be an issue." She paused and looked to the side, "his suit must've malfunctioned, made the chip activate..." Charlotte - Chapter 44. Every single bot has two chips. One that has the animatronic's A.I, and one that is empty. The empty one is where the souls of the dead reside. And of course, because of Acid, Leo now has a empty chip in his own head.

So I suppose the question is…who decided to put them in? What are they there for? Will William be able to completely take over Leo? Or do you think Leo will be able to resist him? What do you think the others will think when they find out? Or do you think that Jamie and them will get their in time? Did you see any of this coming or was it a surprise?

I'd love to hear what you think!

(Also dang! It's both almost the one-year anniversary of this fic and we're almost at fifty chapters!)
