Hello everyone! It's chapter fifty! Wow! This is honestly the longest thing I've ever written! It's so crazy to me that this fic is still going and there are people interested in reading it! Thank you guys so much for all the support. (I know I say this alot) But I mean, honestly? One of the main motivators for keeping this going is your guys reviews. I love seeing what you think and theorize about things!
Okay, so were at half a hundred. Quite a milestone huh? Well, since it's been awhile, and that whole three month gap and everything. I figured I should give a bit of a summary so everyone is sufficiently caught up. (If you are good and don't need to be caught up just swipe down to the story, cause this is going to be a bit)
Okay, so first, the characters.
Main character: Leo Byrd. Leo is the amnesic night-guard who struggles with both drug addiction and anorexia. Why? Well it likely has to do with certain traumatic incidents in his past. Said past? Well as of now the information that has been revealed is that he had bad parents who were also addicted to drugs. His parents sold him off for a bottle of alcohol and a pack of cigarettes. To who? It's unclear. But whomever it was, they were not kind to him either. Beating was common, and he was frequently placed in a isolation room. This is where he met Colt Byrd. Years after that point are unclear. But at some point Leo got into drugs himself, and ended up getting in trouble with the law and was arrested and convicted for both assaulting a seventeen year old male, and selling drugs. He was in jail for five years, and was released at the age of twenty six. This is where he needed a job. And thus applied to Freddy's. It took a bit of time and many injuries, but he eventually befriended the animatronics. The original four. Everyone was happier, business was booming. So the higher ups decided to bring in the in-storage toy animatronics. During this time, two mechanics arrived, Joey Byrd and Acid. Leo figured the name coincidence was odd, but she didn't seem to recognize him so he ignored it. Acid was a strange one who seemed to have a few marbles missing but was otherwise harmless.
However soon Leo wouldn't be the only night-guard. He would be joined by Enix, who would later be playing a instrumental role in the story. At the time he had also 'befriended' a waiter named Jamie. Things were going okay until the toys arrived. Then he once again had to battle during the nights and this was while he still had injuries from when the originals were not so friendly. Despite what the originals said, the toys were stubborn, and their programming had been changed to associate Enix and Leo with the murderer, but why? Who did it? They never discovered who it was, but Joey was able to fix the toys up. It was also around this time that a man named Remington Alder bought the Fazbear company.
However it was around that time where Leo had started hearing a voice from the bathroom. This voice claimed to be the spirit of Scott. The man who had recorded all the tapes that had been Leo's only friend during the very early days. So of course he wanted to bring solace and comfort to the one who had tried his best till the bitter end to help him out. What Leo didn't know was that the voice had been lying. This was not Scott. This was William Afton. Unfortunately, Leo would not discover this…until it was far too late. He befriended 'Scott' and would frequently speak with him. Finding that he enjoyed his company more then the bots…who he had heard speaking about him with Enix. And it wasn't good things. So, dissent was between him and the others, and this was exactly what 'Scott' wanted. Things reached a breaking point when Leo overheard a not-so-nice conversation about him and decided that he was going to prove to them that he wasn't in the back doing drugs. So he freed 'Scott' only to discover that despite what he claimed, the undead man clearly did have a body. But it was decaying, with the corpse still inside. He enlisted the help of Joey and Acid, not willing to show the bots for their sake. So they wouldn't have to be faced with the reality of what they had done.
What he also didn't know, was that the harmless, but crazy Acid was actually Andrew Afton. William's eldest son. Acidrew had been looking for his father this whole time, and was elated to find him once again. However William didn't feel the same. Joey and Acid worked on cleaning up 'Scott' and Leo struggled to keep his presence a secret. What he didn't know was that what happened to the Puppet was no accident. But was a intentional plan between William and his son.
Around this time another character appears. Ashford. A night-guard from the previous location. (The toys) He seemed to want to get a job there, but also seemed like he deeply feared the animatronics. So why would he apply in the first place? Before that could be answered, things seemed be finished with 'Scott' and after speaking with Alder about bringing him on. He introduced him to the others.
It didn't go well.
But eventually they made a truce, the children seemed to know something was up, but they wouldn't tell their hosts. Things went…okay for the following days, until 'Scott' started leading a child away…and Gabriel (Freddy) lost it. This ensued in a argument, which ended in Leo unconscious by Bonnie's hand, William revealing himself and kidnapping Leo. Everyone freaked out, but that was only the beginning. Leo would wake up in the bedroom of Michael Afton, (Crying Child in this universe). Here is where he would experience horrifying nightmares. Where he perceived his friends tormenting him. What he didn't know was that the chips of the originals resided in the heads of these monsters, so they were privy to it all. But unable to control their bodies.
During this time, Enix, Ashford and Jamie met up with a man named Colt Byrd. Who quite unceremoniously ran into their location with three and a half bots of his. He claimed he needed help in finding his brother. Enix and Ashford went with him. Only, what they discovered was not Colt's brother. But Michael Afton, or rather, the body of Michael who was being controlled by non other then Ennard and Circus Baby. They skillfully avoided him. But what they didn't know was that they would be seeing him again…very soon.
With Leo, things were getting strange. After a rather horrific nightmare, he was taken downstairs to the basement…where William revealed himself and transferred his consciousness to Leo. Going into the chip that Acid had placed into Leo's head. The others soon discovered this information and rushed to help…but they didn't make it in time. Instead they conflicted with Ennard-Circus Baby…who were both looking for William and trying to free Acid. A fight ensued…
And here we are.
I'm sorry if that took too long to explain everything, I tried my best to give a overview. For those of you who remember all that fantastic! But if you don't no worries! I've had to go back and reread some stuff to remember as well and I wrote it! So I hope this provides clarity on some thing and clears other things up. Also, feel free to ask questions in the reviews or in PM's. I'm always happy to answer questions or help clear some things up.
Thank you guys for sticking with me for the long haul!
(Also I finally have a timeline, this story takes place in 1999 (I'm sorry if there are things in here that indicate otherwise). And I've finally figured out everyone's birth years.
Leo: 1973 - Age: 26
Enix - 1980 - Age: 19
Jamie - 1982 - Age: 17
Ashford - 1963 - Age: 36
Acidrew - 1967 - Age: 32
Micheal - 1974 - Age: 25
Colt: - 1978 - Age: 21
Joey: 1978 - Age: 21
William: 1950 - Age: 49
Btw, random fact, Acid was born out of wedlock when William was 17. William died in 1988 at the age of 38. He spent 11 years in the wall. (I know I've had him say a few years in the past but…I've changed my mind). Michael was 9 when Fredbear bit him. Acid was 21 when William died, and Michael was 14. Ashford was 24 when he worked at the toy location. The Jeremy bite was 1987, Michael bite was 1983, the missing children's incident was in 1985.)

Chapter 50
New Body.
William Afton had been in the body of Leo Byrd for only two hours.
And he was already in jail.
Huffing the undead man pulled at the handcuffs, but it would've been impossible to do anything regardless.
What with all the blood on his hands.
"So, Mr. Byrd, can you explain to me why you are covered in blood?" Asked an officer before him, William took note of his appearance, and with a barely suppressed laugh, he realized that this was one of the very same officers who was investigating him during the time of the murders.
Oh the irony.
"Like I told the arresting officer…" William started, after recovering himself, "this is all mine. I had a unfortunate break a few days ago and my nose is still bleeding from time to time." He implored, using his friendliest tone and best smile.
Though, he wasn't sure how that came across in this new body…
Had he ever really seen Leo smile?
Huh. Weird.
"…I understand sir, but you have to realize, with your occupation, and recent report of you having gone missing…well, it is just a bit suspicious." The man…officer Jones, conveyed and William nodded sitting back in his seat with a breath.
"Yes, and I suppose my history doesn't help either, does it?" At that the man nodded.
"Yes, one of your reasons for arrest was assault." He explained, and William blinked not having known that.
"Assault? Really?" At his question the man looked at him a moment before sighing.
"Yes, you assaulted Matthew Gomez some five years ago, and at the time Matthew was a minor." Then he looked him over and William couldn't help but feel judged.
…even if he wasn't really the one being judged here.
"You know, your memory is only going to get worse if you keep taking drugs." The officer informed, and William huffed a breath nodding.
"You're telling me." He motioned best he could with his cuffed hands to himself, "this body is frail enough! Then he-I go around taking drugs like it's candy!" He leaned forward, "between you and I, I plan on going completely clean." He paused and tilted his head, "well, maybe alcohol, cause ya know, sometimes you need to take the edge off and all." He admitted with a shrug.
The officer however just gazed at him with a raised eyebrow.
Clearing his throat, William sat back and took a breath, "anyways." He stole another breath secretly still enjoying how it felt for air to enter his body, "I know my history is…not great-"
"Not great? Mr. Byrd you're lucky you didn't get a life sentence! Don't forget you only got out because someone convinced the judge to post bail and then paid it." At that William couldn't help but blink.
"Life sentence?" He shook his head, "surely it wasn't that bad. So he-I sold a few drugs…it's not like I was a ***king cartel or something." But at the officer's unimpressed look, William couldn't help but blink again. "I was a ***king cartel?" He asked incredulously.
Leo? Whiny little Leo? How the ***l could that pathetic man possibly run a cartel?
"Not a cartel exactly, but for a brief period you were running a pretty large coke production plant." The Afton couldn't help but gap at the sheriff.
"For how long exactly?"
"Three days." That made William blink and sit back in his seat.
"Three days." He repeated, and the man nodded.
"Yeah." He turned back to the folder sitting before him. "You called yourself Fox. You were a lackey for the reigning drug lord. He called himself Wolf." He lifted his gaze to him looking unimpressed, "a bit dramatic." Then he turned back to the folder looking through it. "According to reports from the gang, you were a loyal little dog, until one day you up and killed Wolf and became the reigning drug lord." Then he chuckled and looked up, "too bad you weren't aware of the snake in your midst. One of the other lackeys betrayed you." At this information William sat back in his seat blinking.
What the actual ***k.
He felt like he was blindsided by the history of the body he was residing in.
Leo? Killed someone? But what about all that anti-murder preaching he did?
Why did he never tell William?
Who even was Leo?
Because not even two hours into being in his body, William suddenly found that he knew nothing about the man whose life he stole.
"You really don't remember any of this?" Officer Jones asked, and William only silently shook his head staring at his hands with wide eyes. "Sheesh, you should really lay off the drugs…" that was more muttered but William didn't hear him.
But oh the coincidence! He had managed to wind up in a body that already had blood on it's hands!
He couldn't stop the laugh that spilled from his lips, and lucky for him, Jones had stepped out of the room without him noticing.
This time, the blood on his hands had truly been his own, he had tripped over the long pants and had run face first into a brick wall. The injury had gone unnoticed but the blood had not. Someone had called the cops, and with this body not having nearly as long of legs as he was used to, William quickly got caught by the sheriff.
Which is how he wound up here.
So this blood, it had not been that of a victim other than the body he was in.
However, this wouldn't last long. Once everything was cleared up here, he would be looking for his next victim. It had been far too long.
After all, his idiotic son had made him six new animatronic bodies to fill with souls…
All in all it took far too long to get out of the police station for it to be funny.
William's new body ached something terrible and exhausted weighed even heavier on him.
His throat was dry and his stomach growled like a frothy mouthed dog.
However he did have plenty of time to mull over what the officer had told him.
So, Leo had been much more of a crook then he had led people to believe.
William almost wished he could speak with him and ask about that time.
They had thankfully provided a towel for him to wipe off his hands and face. Sure he had no problem with blood, but it was messy and could get sticky very fast.
When he was finally able to get out of there, he was given a fresh shirt that one of the previous employees had left behind.
But of course, being in Leo's body meant that he was swimming in it.
So, as William exited the sheriff station he was stuffing the excess of the shirt down his pants grumbling audibly.
"Leo? Is everything alright?" The sudden voice made him jump and look at a young woman standing there. She was fairly pretty, blonde, bubbly looking. Her brows were furrowed as she gazed at him before adjusting as he caught her gaze.
"….yes." He answered after a moment, his mind spinning as he tried to recall if Leo had ever mentioned a lady friend…
"Oh, well, I was just wondering, I haven't seen you around the pizzeria in a few days." She then let out a small laugh, "Sally's been asking where you've been."
"Oh? She has? I'm flattered." He claimed with a lazy smile, she chuckled in return and he shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck, trying to recall Leo's mannerisms. "Heh, yeah, I've been sick the past few days, finally got out of it. I'll probably be back soon." At that she smiled and nodded.
"Good, that's good." She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear before flashing him a smile, "it's good to see you. I'll see you around huh?" At that he nodded before pausing and taking a step forward causing her to stop.
"Actually…would you like to go get a coffee?" At that she blinked and then smiled softly.
"Yeah, you have a place in mind?" She asked, and he paused before looking around and turning back to her sheepishly. She smiled and nodded to the building two doors down from them. "That one sells good Joe for cheap." At that he laughed a bit and smiled.
"Alright, sounds good." He then fell in step with her and the both of them headed into the shop.
Margie, that was her name. She was a single mom with an eight year old daughter named Sally. They've been in Hurricane three years next week. She liked fries, but not potatoes. Cats but not dogs, she was twenty nine, so Leo's senior by three years.
But William's junior by about twenty or so years.
"So, Leo, tell me, what made you decide to work at Freddy's of all places?" Margie asked, stirring her latte, heavy on the milk with no sugar.
William nursed his own latte heavy cream and sugar, he'd rather not test how sensitive Leo's stomach was with darker coffee.
After setting down the mug and holding it between both his hands he took a breath and tilted his head in thought. "Hm, well would you believe me if I told you it was for the fabulous working conditions?" He asked with a smirk, she laughed before hiding her mouth behind her mug. He chuckled in return and when she finally calmed her amusement she set the mug down again.
"Har har, but no, seriously? Why Freddy's? I mean, new guy in this rinky-dinky town, and he decides to work in the children's pizzeria?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, he chuckled before shrugging.
"Eh, I dunno. I suppose it's a more interesting job then most. Plus, the animatronics are pretty cool." He admitted with a half shrug.
She raised an eyebrow again, "really? All they do is sing the same songs over and over again. My blackberry can do more then that." She countered, and he blinked.
"Blackberry?" The question spilled from his lips before he could stop himself. She looked up and blinked before pulling a small square from her pocket. He stared at it as she held it up to show him.
"Yeah, they just came out with it. There was a trade in deal for my old phone to get some money off it, but I decided to keep it, my last boyfriend got it for me so it's a bit of a sentimental thing…" she trailed off sheepishly. But he was staring at the phone in fascination.
"It's so small…" He muttered, not noticing her vaguely confused look, but she seemed to push it aside and shrug putting it away.
"Yeah, sometimes it's hard to see the screen but it's worth it." She took another sip of her coffee. "So what do you like to do in your freetime?" She prompted, and he paused considering.
"I like to build things. Though, I'm not particularly good at it." That last part was muttered as he closed his fists from where they were on his lap. "I'm more of the…idea guy I suppose." He claimed with a frown.
"Well, all ideas for great things have to come from somewhere right?" Margie encouraged, and he lifted his gaze to her before letting out a breath of a laugh.
"Yeah, I suppose so. What about you?"
"Me? Oh, uh, well in the freetime I have, I like to take pictures…"she blushed a bit, "mostly of flowers and…sunsets." At that he nodded.
"That's neat." She smiled and nodded again, before then glancing at her watch and her eyes widening. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I have to go, Sally is at Freddy's with some of her friends. I've got to go pick her up." She started gathering her things and getting up. William blinked before standing as well.
"Oh, alright." He picked up his coffee and drained it's contents.
Might as well not let Acid's money go to waste.
"…hey, do you need a ride to Freddy's? Since I'm headed over I can drop you off if you'd like." She offered suddenly and he blinked looking up from his coffee.
"That…that would be great. Thanks." He flashed a smile, she blushed and returned one before nodding and heading out, with a hum he followed after her.
The drive from town to Freddy's wasn't far, so it didn't give William very long to mull over things.
There could be no witnesses. But the only place with chips was the pizzeria.
But it was dinner time, this was one of the busiest times of the day.
He would have to act fast if he wanted to get things done, and he would have to do it without any witnesses.
Margie seemed like a good person. She would be a perfect candidate.
And if he got lucky, maybe he would be able to get her daughter too…
The only problem is the bots, the bots and those infuriating night-guards. He had to find a way to progress his plan. And logically he should just swipe a bunch of chips and run, flee and find his son and get him to make more bots.
Having to worry about the authorities was annoying. If only they understood that what he was doing was for the betterment of humanity.
But nobody seemed to understand that, not Henry, not the Byrds. How did they not see the opportunity they created?
What he would do, he would get chips, he'd get Margie and her daughter alone, transfer them, and skip town.
Staying here beyond that would just be stupid.
He would have to do some acting, in case the night-guards and bots were there.
"We're here..." Margie announced, causing him to lift his head and blink at the sight of the restaurant.
…and the empty parking lot.
"I thought…your daughter was here?" William questioned with a frown, why were they closed? Freddy's never closed…
"I thought so to-"
She was cut off by the sound of a phone ringing. She let out a surprised gasp and then pulled out the small device. After a moment she answered it and held it to her ear.
"Hello? Yeah, Jenifer I'm at Freddy's what's going on?" She asked, and William subtly leaned closer to listen to this Jenifer on the other line.
"At Freddy's? Margie, I messaged you, Freddy's was closed for the day. Sally's at my house."
Margie blinked before pulling her phone back and looking at it before forming an O with her mouth.
"Ah…I just saw it. Sorry Jen, I'll be over soon okay?"
There was an acknowledgement from Jenifer and they exchanged goodbyes before Margie hung up.
She sat in her car a moment, hands on her steering wheel.
"Well, I suppose this is goodbye then." She turned and smiled at him, "I had fun today…we should do this again sometime." At that he nodded and smiled in return, even if he wanted to growl.
"Yeah, we definitely should." He unbuckled and got out of the car. As he headed to the building he gave her a wave. She waved back and drove off.
However the minute his back was to her he swore vehemently. Of course it had to be closed today.
Sure he could've just killed her in the car, but it would've been a wasted death.
With a huff he went to the door and cautiously peered inside. It was quiet, who was even here?
Glancing around, William headed around back to the kitchen entrance. This door had always been weird. He went over and grabbed ahold of the doorknob. Pushing up against it, he proceeded to wiggle the handle about until he heard a satisfying click. With a breath he nodded to himself and opened the door. It swung open with a familiar whine and he hmphed before stepping inside the dark interior.
Everything was silent…too silent for a place with tons of animatronics and several obnoxious night-guards.
With a frown he silently entered the main dining area, what was happening? Where was everyone?
He was so used to some kind of noise in this building that the silence was disconcerting. It reminded him of the early days when his audio receptors had been on the fritz.
The long drawn out silence with only the occasional white noise, the dark room surrounding him. Being unable to move…these thoughts of course led him to the real…real early days.
Back when he was slowly dying.
A involuntary shiver raced down his spine and he shuddered with a hard breath.
It would do him no good to dwell on the past. He had a new body and soon he would be starting his new life.
Nodding to himself, William turned to head down the hallway, but just as he turned the corner he was forced to stop in his tracks.
Molting dark grey-blue fur stared back at him, pieces of the exoskeleton were missing. He could tell that even from his limited view.
He shouldn't look up. Every part of him ordered him not to look up.
Yet he did anyways.
William had never been one to be afraid of things. And every since he had died, not even death was a fear anymore.
But as he stared up at this monstrous Bonnie before him. William felt fear.
And he would never be certain if it was his, or the body he was occupying.
But haunting laughter rang in his ears, flashing red eyes, a silhouette in the dark hallway. All of these things flashed before him in great succession, and before he had realized it, William had stumbled back holding his head and letting out a surprised cry.
Blood dripped from his nose again, but this time he didn't reach up to stop it.
Not that he was sure he would've been able to if he wanted.
It started with the tips of his fingers, and it slowly grew from there.
William was losing all feeling and control over the body he was in.
Letting out a cry that was a mix between confusion and outrage, he stumbled again until he fell back against the wall behind him as the feeling disappeared from his legs.
It almost felt like his presence was retreating from his extremities and nothing he could do could stop it.
William just barley had the time to look up and see the monster Bonnie approaching him before everything went black.
So, William went on a date huh?
What did you think of William now? Not to mention Leo's background. Did it surprise you? What do you think of Leo now that you know it? Or has your opinion not changed at all? What do you think will happen now? Will Leo return? Or…might it be…someone else?
I'd love to hear what you think! Now, onto the reviews from last chapter…
Fantom Knight: Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. And yeah, Ennard is strong, but not for SpringBonnie. As for Leo and William well above is what's been going on with them or is it just him? Hm…
TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: Ah, I love it when I can surprise you guys! Yes, Michael is in quite a unfortunate situation. And sorry if it happened quickly, I hope it was clear enough! And yes, Joey is indeed Colt's sister. As for where Colt's brother is? Well we will just have to see and well as you saw above that's what William has been up to. As for Acid, well Colt was very close to doing so! Ashford is going to have his hands full getting everyone out. Hm, good point, I suppose we will have to see what happened to SpringBonnie won't we? And ah yes…I got a bit excited, I should be posting on Wednesdays from now on, fingers crossed…I also go excited with this one as well…
Silverleone: No worries, I hope the summary above helped to clear up things and catch you up some! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! As for what happened with Leo? Well you'll just have to see!
Thank you everyone for being here with me for fifty chapters!
