Hello everyone! I hope you had a good few days since the last posting! I'd like to say I hope I can get on a regular schedule again buuut…obviously that hasn't really worked so far…so, I will…just be trying to post as frequently as I can, hopefully a schedule can come out of that.

So, onto reviews!

TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: No worries, I know I can get rather angsty if I'm left to my own devices…suffice to say my bestie has stopped me from making some rather angsty choices…however fair warning, I have several big angsts planned for the future as well. But that's as much as I will say on that…as for Piper, I do have plans for her, interesting theory! We will have to see if it's true or not. But regardless, I do have plans for Elizabeth don't worry. As for Enix, yeah, Enix always does his best by Leo, even if it isn't always the best course of action. And yeah…things will be interesting going forward with the new arrival.

Davie Wilson: Thank you! I hope you'll like the one below as well!

Speaking of the one below, this one is a bit different from the rest! And it has something in it that I haven't done in this story before, I hope you guys like it!

I only own my characters and ideas

Chapter 58
The CEO

Remington stole a breath as he glanced about the small elevator, his eyes flickered to Colt and he adjusted the lapels of his suit.

"So…it's an entire underground facility?" He asked, breaking the ambient humming of the elevator as it descended to the depths below.

Colt spared him a glance over his shoulder before giving a small nod and turning to the doors again.

"Yeah, I guess Andrew kept it running under the company's noses." With a scoff of a breath Colt sighed, "all the caution tape makes sense if the place is supposed to be closed." Remington nodded before taking a soft breath.

"Do…you think he hurt them?" The question was quiet, but Colt heard it if the tensing of his shoulders was any indication.

"I don't know…he's…***king nuts. His…brother…Michael…had this mechanical beast inside him…and Andrew was laughing…" he sighed, "I just…hope whatever he has done isn't irreversible."

Remington had no further comment to make, and the rest of the elevator trip was in silence.

When the doors slid open Remington frowned at the wall before them before stepping back as Colt got on his knees. "What are you doing?"

Colt stopped and looked back at him before moving out of the way so Remington could see the vent before them. "We have to climb through the vents. I think it's to prevent the bots from escaping." Then without another word he climbed into the man sized vent and began to shuffle on.

After a moment Remington crouched down peering into the vent, he stole a soft breath and removed his jacket and hung it on the railing before climbing in after.

It was a tight fit for the older man, but he managed to get through the other side.

Colt was already there talking with someone through a window.

"…we've looked everywhere! Just like you asked, but ain't no head or high tail of the munchkins!" Climbing out of the vent, Remington stood, lifting his gaze to the animatronic that spoke.

Funtime Foxy stood on the other side of the right window. Colt sighed and leaned against a small control panel that seemed to have had the buttons ripped out viciously.

Idly Remington couldn't help but wonder the reason.

"Nothing?" The mechanic asked again, but the pink and white Fox just shook his head.

"Nah, and with our hunting protocols off there isn't a way for us to track 'em down either." The fox claimed, and Remington stepped over, earning him the attention of the animatronic.

"So, would it be beneficial to turn on certain protocols in that program?" He glanced between the fox and the mechanic, "so that they can find them?"

Foxy's attention turned to Colt as well, his faceplates shifting a bit in a way that made Remington imagine that he was contemplating the idea.

Colt's dark brows were furrowed low as he bit his lip in thought, "I just…don't want to turn on the wrong one and end up having them hunt down the children…"

"What if you turn mine on? I always had buggy systems, Andrew always yelled at me for not being able to harm the children." A soft resonating voice made all three turn to the left window. The darkness made it hard to see, but glowing purple eyes gazed at them.

"Ballora…are you sure? It's not that I don't trust you…I just don't trust…" he trailed off.

"Andrew, I'm sorry ma'am, but your son has had access to your system for years, how would he have not found what was preventing his programs from running smoothly?" Remington finished, his voice even.

"He did find it. It was me."

"You?" Colt prompted, and a white animatronic hand was laid on the glass, before she curled it into a fist.

"I may be stuck in this cold machine, I may have cross feelings about things. But I would never lead a child to their doom." She claimed fiercely, and there was a pause for a moment as Colt let out a slow breath.

"And…you were married to William?" He asked dubiously, that earned a sigh from Ballora as she turned away from the glass slightly.

"William did not start out like this…and I did not find out about his true intentions until after my life had been cut short." Then she lifted her head and gazed at them, purple eyes glowing fiercely. "Regardless of my mistakes in life, I will help you find those children, and I will not harm them."

Remington felt Colt's questioning eyes upon him, and as he gazed at Ballora, the CEO took a deep breath and nodded.

"Colt, turn on her protocols."

May 10th 1990

"Lucy! Lucy sweetheart, it's time to get up!" Remington called as he fumbled with his tie, a disconcerted frown on his face.

He was poorly underdressed, and he knew that, but it had been a late night last night. Finishing up paperwork, and praying to the heavens above his boss wouldn't send it back to him to be 'redone' once again.

Sometimes Remington wondered if the man just enjoyed wasting his time.

"Almost ready daddy!" His daughter called from the bathroom, he nodded with a breath and hurried back to the kitchen still fumbling over his tie.

However, his hands soon retired from the task in favor of making sure he had packed everything for his daughter.

"Lucy! Do you have your toothbrush? I don't think Lisa and her mom would appreciate smelly breath tonight!" There was a groan from the bathroom that made the man crack a smile.

"Yes I got the toothbrush dad!" As if to prove her point, the small redhead came out of the bathroom holding up her princess themed brush. Remington chuckled and zipped up the backpack taking it over to her. He placed it in her awaiting arms, and in turn she unzipped it and placed her toothbrush inside.

While she was occupied with that he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss on the top of her head. "Good, now, you behave for Miss Carew okay? And make sure to call me tonight when you guys get back from Freddy's." He ordered, and when she lifted her head to look at him he tapped her on the nose.

She scrunched it up before giggling, "okay!"

He ruffled her hair as he stood up and turned his attention back to his tie, "good, good, we should get going then." With a breath of surrender he dropped the tie and grabbed his coffee and jacket heading for the door.

"Daddy!" Lucy called, causing him to pause, mid opening the door and turn to her.

"Lucy we gotta get going, I only have until one before I have to get to work…" he trailed off as his five year old held up the car keys.

She smiled as he came back over to retrieve them, landing another kiss atop her head. "Thanks sweetie." Then, tossing his jacket over his arm he took her hand and together they went to the car.

After dropping off Lucy with Emilia at Freddy's, Remington had arrived at work just as the clock hit one. He hurried inside, flashing his badge to the officer at the desk and rushing to the elevator. Briefcase under arm and phone buzzing in his pocket.

Once inside and assured it was ascending to his destination, the man fumbled for his phone before flipping it open and pressing it between his shoulder and ear.

Briefcase and jacket at his feet he continued to try and work on his tie.

"This is Alder." He confirmed and frowned as he tried to get the knot right.

It was a daily battle, but not one he had time for today.

"Yes! Alder, just the man I wanted to speak to!" At the familiar voice, Remington's good, if not slightly frantic mood was soured.

"Anderson." It was monotoned, but if the rich guy noticed his less then enthused reaction, he didn't mention it.

"Yes, I've been meaning to get ahold of you, but it seems you're a very busy guy." Then there was a chuckle, "though most up and coming hotshot lawyers are."

Remington suppressed a sigh as he turned his attention back to his tie. "Anderson, we've spoken about this before, I'm not interested in becoming one of your personal attack dogs." He informed sternly, and there was a sigh from the man.

"Alder I don't think you understand, I could make it so you and your little angel are very comfortable in this town. If we need to talk about wages again I'm more then willing to negotiate-"

The doors slid open and Remington took a breath, "I'm sorry Anderson, it's out of the question. Have a good day sir." With that he hung up and tossed his phone back into his pocket, scooping up his briefcase and jacket heading down the hallway to hopefully make it to his office before his boss noticed him.

It seemed that today would be a good day, as he made it there without problem.

It was around six when his phone began to buzz once more.

Looking up from the stacks of paperwork before him, Remington turned and a soft smile lit his face at the sight of Emilia's number. It was Lucy's first sleepover, hopefully she was doing alright. But he told her that she could call him at any time if she got homesick.

Flipping open the phone he pressed it against his shoulder and turned back to the paperwork.

"This is Alder." He informed, expecting to hear the soft voice of his little one.

But that's not who spoke.

"Re…Remington…" the stutter in Emilia's voice made the man's blood run cold.

He straightened immediately and grabbed the phone pressing it to his ear, "Emilia? What's wrong? Is Lucy okay?" The questions spilled from his mouth before he could catch his breath.

However at the last question, Emilia choked on a sob making Remington's heart thunder in his ears.

"Emilia…I want to speak with Lucy." He said, doing his best to keep the fear creeping into his tone.

"Re…Remington…I…I…I'm so sorry…I…I swear I just looked away for a second I…" she might have continued, but Remington didn't let her.

"Where are you now?" He asked getting up and grabbing his keys, "where is Lucy? Is she alright?" The man was already heading for the elevator.

"Re…Remington…Lucy…she…she was taken…someone kidnapped her." That caused him to stop misstep and stare wide eyed at the elevator doors as they opened…and after too long of waiting, they silently slid shut.

"Remington…?" Emilia's voice jerked him out of his shock.

He swallowed and harshly wiped away his tears with his sleeve, "where are you now?"

"F….Freddy's…we're still at Freddy's."

Flashing lights, uniformed officers, and the dull yellow lights of Freddy Fazbear's pizza. That would be burned into Remington's mind from years to come. He didn't remember the drive over, he didn't remember walking through the crowd of distressed patrons like a ghost.

But he remembered entering, stepping through those automatic doors as they slid open with hiss.

Bleary eyed he glanced around the bright and colorful pizzeria, but by all rights, it shouldn't be, and part of him almost felt angry for it's deceitful coloration.

"Remington!" Emilia's voice beckoned him further into the depths of this cursed place. He came over his eyes catching the sight of two cops, Emilia and Lisa, who had been crying not too long ago.

But no Lucy.

That vague hope that this had all been some elaborate and cruel trick was dashed.

"Are you Remington Alder? Lucy Alder's father?" His eyes lifted to the officer at his question, and swallowing he nodded, tightening up his tie. He stood a bit straighter as he gathered himself.

"Yessir, I am." The officer nodded and wrote something down before turning to face him fully.

"According to the Carew's accounts, Lucy was last seen with one of the waiters at around five forty two." He explained, looking down at his notes for the details, "he was a young man, reddish brown hair, shorter then average, caucasian, brown eyes and looked to be lacking sleep." His eyes lifted to Remington who was staring down at the notepad as if it would miraculously tell him this wasn't real. "Do you know anyone matching that description?" When Remington didn't respond, "sir?"

That got the man's attention, he lifted his eyes to the cop and cleared his throat taking a deep breath, "no…I don't know anyone who matches that description." The officer nodded, before turning back to the notepad and scribbling it down.

"Okay, has Lucy mentioned anyone lately? Miss Carew informed us that the three of them have been frequent visitors to Freddy's but she hadn't noticed anything unusual." The officer continued, and Remington opened his mouth to respond, sweeping his gaze over the pizzeria, as if something in it would jog a memory. However the longer he looked around, the more he realized how real the situation was. His lip trembled and to stop it he clamped his mouth shut, screwing his eyes closed to be rid of the sudden blurriness.

"Sir…I know this is difficult but the more information we have the better we are equipped to finding her." The officer informed gently, Remington nodded, his teeth capturing his lip in a tight hold as he ducked his head eyes still screwed shut.

"I…I…I know…I…"

"Daddy! I made a new friend today! His name is Blaze and his favorite color is red! Just like mine!"

A breath escaped Remington as he stared at the ground wide eyed.

"Oh? Whose Blaze's mom and dad? Maybe we can invite him over."

A joyful giggle rang in his ears like bells, "Blaze is a grownup daddy! He works at Freddy's, his hair is red too! Well, not as red as mine but still!"

Remington's insides twisted and he clenched his teeth, hands curling into fists.

"Sir?" The officer prompted again, and Remington took a hard breath lifting his eyes to the man before him.

"His name is Blaze. He befriended Lucy…" he felt faint as he swallowed hard, eyes dropping once more to the ground. "…that's…probably how…he did it…" he took a hard breath, "…he…became her friend…so she'd…she'd…t..trus…trust him…" he stammered a hand flying up to his mouth as he captured his lip again.

He felt like he was going to be sick.

"Thank you sir, if we have anymore questions we'll be sure to contact you." The officer said, but Remington barely heard him, "we'll get back your daughter. I swear-"

"I…is it…is it h…him…?" The question was spoken so softly that Remington was surprised when the environment around them completely stilled.

"We…we aren't sure yet sir. But…we will let you know when we learn more."

Remington didn't hear them leave, but they must've, and he must've left too, because the next morning he woke on the floor of Lucy's room, his now dead phone clutched in his hands.

In the vain hope that she would call him like he told her to.

But even when the phone had enough power to turn on…there were no missed calls.

It wasn't long before the officers had visited his house, explained to them how little they had found, how there was no record of a man named Blaze ever working at a pizzeria, and the employees who worked with him couldn't comprehend the fact that he would take a child…but they too knew next to nothing about him.

Local news broadcasted the situation, a artist interpretation of the man was done. There were a few calls here and there, and Remington cursed them vehemently for getting his hopes up. Days soon turned into a week, and a week turned into two, weeks turned into a month…and a month turned into months. No news…nothing, nothing new, no leads…it seemed the man vanished off the face of the earth.

Six months passed…and the missing posters started disappearing from lamp posts, the news stopped broad casting the story. Despite his best efforts Remington couldn't stop the situation from being labeled 'another tragedy at that ***ned place.' It hadn't taken long for business to drop, and the location to close down.

It didn't take long for the public to file away the situation as a tragedy that couldn't be helped.

Another child lost and forgotten.

The company refuted all accusations, claimed no associations with the man, and none of the lawsuits Remington threw at them seemed to stick. No matter how high he called up, no matter how many times he demanded answers.

Nothing came of it.

Everyone had surrendered to the fact that there was now yet another child lost to Freddy's.

But Remington didn't. His daughter wasn't dead, he knew that, he couldn't explain why or how, but he knew she wasn't.

However, there was nothing he could do about it unless he was on the inside…but as a man just barely out of law school, he had no hopes in taking on a company that large.

So, he took up Anderson's offer, observed him, watched him, learned business best he could. He watched Freddy's as they repeatedly screwed themselves over with location after location.

He put money aside, and he waited till the time was right to strike.

And years later as he shook the hand of the now former CEO of Fazbear's, Remington knew that his work had just started.

He would find his daughter, and then he would make sure that the dark history lingering in the wake of this company was just that.

History.

Under his watch, his daughter would be found, and Fazbear's would be known as the safest place on earth.

Remington no longer smiled as much as he used to, he no longer had problems tying his tie.

And no longer would he put up with the bull***t this company liked to tell everyone.

Fazbear's was his now.

And changes were going to be made.

So, this one is a bit more of a info chapter? I hope the flashback went over well! It was the first time I've done it in this story so I'm curious, if ya'll like this, would you like to see more flashbacks? Or would you rather keep with the narrative that it has had where pasts are conveyed by word of mouth?

What did you think of Remington? Do you think Lucy will be alright? It has been ten years, and she was five at the time of the kidnapping…Remington doesn't currently know that Ashford was the one to initially take her, how do you think he will react to the information?

I'd love to hear what you think!
