Hello everyone! I hope you've all been doing well!
This chapter is a bit longer then the others, several things are set up in this, and I promise more exciting things will come, we are just in the build up stage of this arc right now.
Anyways, onto the reviews…
TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3: Yes, it would be more clear if I finished the Flickering Light fic, but just so everyone is informed. Ashford kidnapped Lucy in a fit of a mental breakdown, he retreated to a warehouse where Acidrew found and kidnapped Lucy, then taking her with him for the next…decade. As for how it will all go down, we shall have to see.
Silverleone: Yeah he won't be happy with Ashford. And yes, Remington does care deeply for his daughter, and is wiling to do what it takes to protect her. And that is a very interesting theory, we shall have to see how things go!

Chapter 59
Of Plans, Drugs and Kidnapping
Acid stared at the plans before him chewing on the end of a pencil.
"He means to trap them…" Ennard hissed from behind him, Acid lifted his head and looked back at the amalgamation of wires and cords. "To kill them." He finished.
The eldest Afton hummed and turned back to the plans, "we need to have a way to get you, father and I out. Hopefully the rest of them will just burn." He muttered, hand curling tightly around the pencil, tight enough to snap it.
"Yes…father must live. Father must survive." Elizabeth hissed, and Acid glanced back, finding the green eyes of his sister staring at the plans.
"…Lizzie, why do you want to see father so bad?" Andrew asked quietly eyeing her a moment.
The robot housing his sister was quiet a moment. "I want him to put me back together again. Like he did with Michael." She paused and lifted one of her hands gazing at it. "I want to feel again, I want to be…" she trailed off, but it was clearly implied.
Acid stared at her a moment, he hadn't really had a lot of conversations with Elizabeth, when he visited the underground facility, usually to talk to mother or to taunt that Colt fellow…well she was either sulking in her room, or had even tried to kill him several times.
He had always envied the fact that father loved her so, or at least, their father's version of love. When Lizzie had been alive, father would often spend time with her…goodness, Circus Baby had even been inspired by a drawing Elizabeth did.
Andrew never quite understood what made him so different from his siblings that his father hated him so.
But…that didn't matter, he would fix it. He would take out all his father's enemies, he would aid in his plans until father finally saw how valuable Acid was.
Then he would be proud of him.
"Why do you want to see daddy?" That was a whispered hiss, that echoed around the small room.
The question took him off guard as he gazed at her brow furrowed, "because I want to help him!" He turned back to the plans, not liking the uneasy feeling in his gut.
"Why? Father was always mean to you. He always yelled at you." She added, and Acid couldn't help but stare at his hand as it started to shake, rattling what remained of the pencil on the table. "Wasn't he the one who knocked out your tooth as well?" She asked and Acid's mouth clamped shut. His tongue brushing against the open gap in his teeth.
"It was a accident."
"But he told you if you messed up again you'd lose another…." She whispered sounding…almost pitying.
"He didn't mean tha-"
"I heard him once say he wished you were never born-"
"SHUT UP!" He yelled, stabbing what remained of the pencil into the table.
There was the sound of metal hitting the ground as Elizabeth stepped back, however Acid didn't turn to face her, staring down at the table heaving for breath and gripping the destroyed pencil so tight it hurt.
"You…you don't understand Lizzie…" he finally said taking a hard breath, "father….you don't understand him like I do. He didn't mean those things…he just…says…just says and does things sometimes. You…you don't know how much it hurt him when mum left. You…you don't understand…he…he just wants me to prove myself…" he swallowed slowly, releasing what remained of the pencil and letting it drop with a clatter to the table. "I just…have to prove myself to him…and then…then…" he trailed off as a heavy hand landed on his shoulder.
He glanced back…finding his vision blurry as he gazed at the mechanical creature behind him.
Green eyes stared at him…almost…sad, pitying, and it made Acid's gut twist uncomfortably.
"I'll prove to him…you'll see." That was whispered and his shoulder was given a slight squeeze.
"Yeah…you will, you'll make daddy proud." There was a pause and the sound of metal scraping against metal…a footstep, and two arms wrapped around his front.
Acid stiffened a moment, breath caught in his throat. He wasn't sure if she was going to start squeezing, or what she was planning on doing.
"…mommy used to say…that sometimes…a hug makes things just a little better." That was whispered in that soft echoey way and Acid blinked his blurry vision before slowly raising his arms and grasping her metal ones.
A strange force compelled the next words from his mouth, "Lizzie…you know I…"
"I know….but…how can I blame you with what I've done…" her eyes lifted to the blueprints. "What I will do."
"…it's a nasty business…being an Afton…isn't it?" He whispered, "you…ever wonder…" he swallowed, "if…if it's worth it? Do…do you ever think…that…maybe…we're wrong…?" That was scarcely above a breath.
It was practically impossible to tell, but Acid knew that his sister had stiffened.
"No. Father…father has to be right, father will put me back together…he will be proud of you, and we will be rid of the weakness in our family. We will be together again. Like it should've been." She insisted, and Andrew lifted his gaze seeing a fiery determination in her eyes. He couldn't help but smile slightly, squeezing her arms.
"Of course Lizzie. Of course we will."
Leo wanted to hide, but honestly what good would that do? It'd make him look more guilty.
Guilty of what? He didn't know.
Though that didn't really matter soon enough, "ah! There you are, little fox!" The man called before sauntering over, Leo looked up at him tensing and not entirely sure why.
However before the man could reach him, Enix stood up and held up a hand stopping the man in his tracks.
"Whoa there buddy." The taller man began, "lets slow down here. Who are you exactly?"
The haggard man looked Enix once over and raised a brow, "the name is Benedict, but others…well they call me the Snake." He flashed a grin, and Leo blinked at the sight of clearly filed down canines to make them more resemble fangs.
The name made him dizzy, the smile made something in him twist in anger.
But for the life of him he couldn't understand why.
"Riiight. Well I'm Enix, others call me Enix, and I'd like to know what you want with my coworker." He said firmly, and William frowned, turning to look at Leo.
"I thought you were the older one." That comment made Leo stiffen up and bunch up his shoulders.
However before he could respond in anyway, this Benedict man spoke up.
"Uh…he called me! Well…actually he contacted my boys, and thus me!" The man claimed, and Enix paused before sighing deeply.
"Fox."
"Yeah! Exactly!" He then pushed Enix aside and slid into the booth…right through William, which the ghost couldn't help but pull a face at. "So! My boys told me that you got in contact with them to score some harder stuff." He claimed, leaning back in his seat, Leo swallowed, staring at him and trying to discern the origin of the anger brewing inside him.
"…I did that…right…um…" he trailed, faltering a second, should he say he changed his mind? The harder stuff sounded pretty good about now.
"Exactly! So can you call off your attack dog? I don't like being stared at." Benedict claimed, sending a side eye to Enix who just gave him a displeased grin.
"Enix…it's okay, I know him." That was only a partial lie, clearly Fox knew him. Enix sighed, not looking happy but sat back down, right where William was. The undead man huffed and got to his feet irritated. He came over and motioned for Leo to move.
The guard half debated refusing him before sighing and scooting over ignoring the squinted look from Enix.
"So! What were you looking at? Crack? Coc-"
"Shh! Not here, there are children present." Leo hissed glancing around at the concerned and wary glances patrons were sending them. He turned back to Benedict, "I could get fired for that kinda thing you know."
"Fired? From what?" The man asked, and Leo sighed suddenly feeling…
Embarrassed…?
"Leo and I work at a children's pizzeria." Enix supplied, still looking guarded, and he kept eyeing Leo in a way that the shorter man knew was him looking for any sign that William was interacting with him.
…perhaps he shouldn't have told Enix.
"A children's pizzeria? Why? You never struck me as a guy who liked to be around children."
I don't.
He grumbled internally, but this druggie didn't need to know that.
"Well, it was the only place that would take a convict." A weird feeling stirred within him as he said that and gazed at Benedict.
His fault…
Something inside him hissed, and Leo forced himself to look away. What did that mean?
Who even was this guy?
****it! It would be so much easier if Fox just told him!
"Right…that makes sense. So, where would you like to make the exchange?" He asked, and Leo opened his mouth to respond, but Enix cut him off.
"Exchange? As in money and…the goods right?" There was a cautious note to his tone that made Leo pause.
Benedict raised an eyebrow suddenly looking more sly then unhinged.
"What need do I have for money? No, I want those recipes." He turned to Leo with a smirk that reminded Leo too much of William.
"Recipes?" Enix asked carefully, and Benedict laughed that smirk disappearing.
"Of course! Didn't you know? Before your little coworker killed the drug lord, he worked in the labs making the drugs! And he was great at it too! Made the best of the best…problem was, when he went to jail and lost those memories, well we thought all hope was lost! But when I heard my boys talking about my old friend I was like, by golly the heavens have blessed me!" He glanced around and pulled a bit of a grimace, "who knew he'd wind up in a rinky dinky town like this."
Leo couldn't help but stare at the dump of info, he swallowed trying to process it all.
"My my Leo, you just seem to get more and more interesting as the days pass…" William hummed, causing Leo to glance over to him only to find the ghost smirking.
Swallowing he turned back to Benedict who had seemingly pulled out a cigarette and was lighting it. Gazing at him with calculating brown eyes.
"…and…uh…what if I told you….I didn't remember the….recipes?" Leo asked quietly, glancing over the man before him.
Benedict was silent for a moment, the firelight briefly lighting his face as he lit the lighter.
Leo was suddenly struck with a very familiar scene in someplace completely unfamiliar, flashing police lights, the sound of a cop radio. And a smirking face with firelight dancing in cold brown eyes.
His fault…
His mind supplied and Leo's mouth suddenly felt very dry as something inside him burned with unspoken anger.
"Well, I'm sure you know that there are other means of extracting information from someone." Benedict hummed, and Leo wanted to retreat in on himself, but he held his ground, gazing at the man evenly.
"Bud, if you touch a hair on my friend's head, I will make you regret it." Enix claimed, gazing evenly at Benedict.
The man side eyed him a moment before smirking, "nice bark, you got a bite to back it up?" Enix bristled up and was about to say something, but Leo cut him off.
"You aren't going to leave without them are you?" Dark eyes shifted back to Leo as he leaned back with a smirk.
"Correct, you are little Fox." He glanced around the diner and hummed, "I also see quite the potential for business here." He turned back to Leo and tilted his head. "Don't you think Foxy?"
Leo gazed at him jaw clenched, "I will have to get back to you on it." He could stall…at least until he could think of something.
Benedict smirked and let out a slow breath of smoke.
"I'll give you a day." He moved to get up and Enix did the same, standing and stepping back. Benedict slipped out of the booth and adjusted his cardigan with an amused smirk. "Then we will try other methods." He smirked at Leo before giving a mock salute to Enix and leaving the diner.
Everyone inside let out a collective breath of relief at the ring of that bell.
Once he was gone Leo slumped over burying his face in his hands with a groan.
Enix slid back into the seat across from him and was quiet for a moment, "you don't remember the recipes." It was more of a statement then a question.
Leo swallowed and shook his head.
"And you can't like….talk to Fox or something?" He attempted but Leo just sighed, lifting his head slightly.
"I didn't even know Fox existed an hour ago. I don't even know if he is…conscious or whatever."
"He is." The words from William made Leo snap his attention to him, dark brows furrowed low.
"He is? Well then talk to him!" He barked, but felt his blood run cold as William just smirked at him. Amusement dancing in his purple eyes.
"And why should I do that?" He asked, leaning on his hand. Leo stiffened and grit his teeth.
"Because! If you don't he's going to beat me to a ***king pulp! And that means you too!"
"Leo…" Enix's voice pulled the shorter man's attention to him. "People are staring." That was whispered, and Leo froze glancing around the diner, people were indeed staring, whispering to each other and making sure to avoid him as they passed by.
Leo opened his mouth…before catching sight of William smirking, he set his jaw instead, got up and walked through William, leaving the diner with a slam of the door.
But of course, William was right behind him.
"Perhaps, but I require more incentive then just…not getting beaten. Because I can assure you, it will be nothing compared to what I've already been through-"
"And whose fault is that!?" Leo demanded whipping around to face him, the ghost reeled back a bit in shock. "Huh!? Tell me William! Who did this to you!? Who started this whole ***king mess because I think we both ***king know it was you! You wanna know why you are dead!? Because you are ***king insane! You did this to yourself! All of this mess! All of this ***king pain is because of YOU!" Leo finished before he heaved a breath fists clenched at his sides.
William gazed at him coolly before a small smirk tugged at his lip, "I didn't realize how much of a temper you've got Leo." He stepped closer, and Leo's stance faltered but he held his ground.
"Yeah, so what?" He challenged, and then bristled as William smirked at him like one would with a child who didn't understand something.
"Oh Leo, anger makes you weak…vulnerable." He reached up his left arm, eyes glowing, and Leo stared at it confused…before his own eyes widened in horror as his left arm lifted.
His right immediately went to snatch it and hold it against him as he stared at William wide eyed.
Leo opened his mouth to speak…say something, but the words died in his throat.
William grinned at him…and didn't stop grinning even when Enix walked through him and gazed down at Leo concerned.
"Leo? Leo, is he bothering you?" He looked around, as if he could see William. However the shorter guard looked over his coworker's shoulder and at the ghost behind him.
"When I take over." He stepped closer placing a ghostly hand on Enix's shoulder, and grinned down at Leo, eyes glowing, apparition darkening, but his smile never dimming. "He will be the first to die."
Leo stared up at him and grit his teeth, clenching his shaking hands.
"No…no, I won't let you. I won't let you hurt anyone." Leo whispered, ignoring how shaky his voice was.
But…the cold blooded killer before him just smiled.
And that scared Leo more than any words ever could.
"So…the jerk in your head is the only one who knows these recipes…but you can't talk to him. William can…but he won't?" Jamie summarized looking them over, Leo was sitting at one of the tables gazing down at the grains and avoiding lifting his gaze and seeing the ever present William.
"Yeah…the guy kinda reminded me of Acid, unhinged. I don't doubt he would do something drastic to achieve what he wants." Enix muttered from where he leaned next to the table, arms crossed.
"Let 'im try! We'll rip the laddie limb from limb!" Foxy claimed slamming his hook down on the table. Leo flinched ever so slightly, and thankfully no one noticed.
"Foxy, I think it will be worse off if it comes to that. Think of it this way, Freddy's hasn't had an incident in months, do we really want to remind the public of the past?" Enix asked and Leo snorted.
"Since when has anyone at Fazbear's cared about their reputation?"
"Remington does." That made Leo lift his gaze to his blue haired coworker. "Remember when I told you about that project he's working on? Well, thats really only one of them. He's been talking about…something in the works. He wants to remake the image of the company. Change the public's perspective." But that just made Leo frown further.
"Why the ***l does he care so much?"
"…" Enix didn't answer a moment, pressing his lips together...and glancing briefly at the bots on stage.
The toys were either standing and leaning against the main stage, the children still trapped in the original bodies were sitting on the stage surrounded by all the originals, still in their nightmare bodies. With the exception of Foxy who stood by the table the humans were at.
Leo paused, realizing what he meant.
"I don't know what the Byrds did to them Leo…but you have to know that technology on this level simply doesn't exist outside of these walls. Have you seen the phones? We have learning and sentient computers, who can walk, talk, and feel emotions. I don't know how they did it, I don't care to know. But the fact remains that they are here…and if this place is forced to close down-"
"….they will be taken away." Leo finished quietly, forcing himself to look at all of them, including the nightmares.
They may not be on the best terms…but…
"Okay…okay, so no killing him." The short guard concluded with a breath.
"Not only that, but if he is as powerful as he seems, then we could be in a lot of trouble with the wrong kind of people." Jamie claimed quietly, earning a nod from the other two.
"So…what do we do?" Enix's question went unanswered as everyone did their best to think of something.
"Well…what brought Fox out last time?" Steven asked lazily strumming his guitar laying back down on the stage.
Everyone looked at him and he glanced over before sighing deeply even though he couldn't breathe.
"If we need Fox, why don't we just have him come out again. But to do that we need to know what brought him around the first time." Everyone went silent thinking, before Bonnie stole a mocked breath.
"Fear."
"Right…didn't you say that you saw William but your presence scared him so much that Leo's body passed out?" Chica asked, one of her hands on the back of her normal body which currently was being run by Suzie.
Leo couldn't help but curl in on himself, hugging his waist. He could almost sense where this conversation was going.
"So…it's when he's forced unconscious then?" Freddy asked, but Enix shook his head.
"No, Fox was passed out half the time so that can't be it." At the guard's statement everyone went quiet once again.
"Even if we find out what would trigger a switch, there is no guarantee that it won't be William who emerges instead of Fox. And unless you are willing to kill Leo to stop William, I doubt we want to take that risk." Charlotte muttered from where she leaned over the edge of her box. It seemed that Colt had done some work on repairing her mask, though it was still cracked, and had to be melded together. Remington had ordered a replacement. But she was an old model, it had to be made by someone so it would be a while. So, not to frighten the children who saw her, half of her face was covered in bandages and a sign on the front of her box read.
PLEASE DON'T MIND THE BANDAGES, PUPPET GOT INJURED HELPING OUT SANTA DELIVER GIFTS THIS PAST CHRISTMAS.
The kids seemed to get a kick out of that.
However, strangely enough, Colt had not been able to find the Puppet's A.I chip.
Leo had a sickening feeling that it was at that cursed house.
"…Colt would probably know how to deal with this guy, at the very least." Jamie muttered with a sigh as he leaned on his broom.
"Possibly." Enix paused and looked at the redhead, "where is Colt anyways?"
"Back at his location, he said he and Remington were going to be looking for the kids." At that Enix nodded, and for reasons unknown to him, Leo glanced up at William to find him frowning softly. But he didn't have the energy to ask him why.
"Well…we can talk with him about this when he gets back."
Colt's anxiety was through the roof; they followed Ballora throughout the complex as she looked around for clues of the children's presence.
Remington followed behind him silently as their eyes scanned the dark rooms, looking for any sign of the two kids.
As they entered Funtime Auditorium Colt glanced back at the CEO occasionally before pursing his lips and watching Ballora, or rather her eye beams as she scanned the dark room around them.
"How long has it been?" The mechanic asked quietly, Remington didn't answer at first, and just as Colt was about to look at him again he responded.
"Ten years and one day." That made Colt pause and look at him opening his mouth to respond, but no words came out.
What could he say to that?
"…is that why you became CEO?" He finally asked, and behind him, Remington stole a breath.
"Yes." He offered no further explanation and Colt didn't pry.
However…he had to know.
"…sir, are you going to be shutting down the company?" The question was quiet, but it was enough to make Ballora pause a moment before continuing on.
"No." And once again, he didn't continue so Colt let it drop.
That was all he really needed to know anyways.
"I believe I have found something." Ballora's ghostly voice drifted over to them and both men quickly went to where she had paused.
Her eyebeams shined down upon something that made Colt's stomach drop.
Blood stains.
He looked at Remington who had a crease in his brow, staring down at the only partially dried blood, and the small child-like handprint that rested on the wall next to it.
"I…believe Funtime Foxy might not have been telling the whole truth." Ballora whispered in her breathy voice.
"You….think he lied about not knowing where they were…?" He whispered, and Ballora turned to look at him, her lavender eyes burning with seriousness.
"I believe he knows exactly where they are."
"Ah, Ballora the betrayer! Tell me it isn't so!" The familiar voice of the white and pink fox made them all freeze and look at him.
"Foxy…what did you do?" Colt asked, hands curling into fists, the animatronic was only lit by Ballora's eye beams, and Colt could swear he was grinning more than usual at them.
"What did I do? What did you do? Why are we back down here huh!? You promised we would be free!" He barked, a mechanical growl ripping from him as he stepped forward, ears jerking back.
"Foxy! You will I swear! But with Andrew on the loose and whatever is going on with William and Henry it's too much of a risk to let you guys be around where they can get to you!" He tried, swallowing back old fear as it bubbled in his stomach.
"I thought you got all the bad programming out of them?" Remington asked, taking a step back.
"WE ARE MORE THAN JUST PROGRAMMING MISTER BOSS MAN!" Foxy called, stepping forward, claws bared as he approached them.
"Of course! Of course you are! I know you are sentient, I know that, which means you can think, can know right from wrong, and you know this is wrong! You know I've been looking for Lucas, Remington has been waiting years to see his daughter again! Please….please Foxy I will get you guys out of here I swear-"
"WORDS ARE JUST WORDS LITTLE HORSEY!" He barked stepping forward again, Colt swallowed and glanced behind him at the door. He was about to grab Remington's arm and haul him out of here when Ballora stepped in front of them.
"Foxy, where are the children?" The fox paused, staring at her a moment, yellow glowing eyes flickering over her before he finally set his jaw.
"'Fraid your mom voice isn't going to work this time Ballora." He turned his gaze to Colt, a growl laced into his next words, "I will tell you where they are once we are out of here, and not a moment sooner." He growled, "we could've been free, Ennard and Elizabeth are free! But you convinced us not to join them! So you better free us Byrd." He leaned in and snarled, "or your kiddos are no better than spoiled meat sacks." And right as Colt was about unscrew all his blasted bolts, the fox fled from the room and out the floor hatch leading underground.
Colt raced over to chase after him but he only found the sparking remains of the hatch.
"*****IT!" He cursed, kicking the hatch and ignoring the flare of pain that greeted him.
Remington stood silently where he had been before taking a hard breath and turning to Ballora.
"Where might he have taken them?" The animatronic ballerina looked up at his question and then down thoughtfully.
"Obviously he cannot escape the facility…they could be in any of the rooms. And my systems are not as sophisticated as Freddy's or Foxy's….or even Baby's." She lifted her gaze, "Andrew did not think I would need them if I did not comply with what he wanted." Remington hummed and nodded, adjusting his tie with a breath.
"Well, I suppose we will just have to keep looking."
Colt however was still heaving for breath and he turned to Remington, ready to demand why he was so calm, only to freeze as, with Ballora's eye beams on the man he saw him repeatedly fixing his tie with shaking hands.
All accusations died in Colt's voice.
Right, he was probably used to being disappointed at every turn.
"Right." Colt said, forcing himself to calm down as he came back over. Ballora's lights landed on him and he did his best to smile at his boss. "And we'll search for as long as we have to. He can't get out of here and no one can get in here. We will find them."
Remington's hands hovered over his tie before he clenched them into fists taking a breath and nodding.
"Yes. Of course. Let's get back to it then."
Well, lots of different things happened here.
What did you guys think of Acid? Or even Elizabeth? What of their situation? What do you all think of Benedict? do you think Leo will be able to remember the recipes? Do you think that Ft Foxy will return the children? Do you think it will be too late?
I'd love to hear what you think!
