Chapter 13: The Awaken

Inuyasha:

Oh god my head...

What...what is that awful smell?

God it smells like wet dog..and.. pineapples?

When the hell did I get a dog? Does my chef even buy pineapples?

Why is it so hard to focus..

Dear god where is the floor?

Am I standing or sitting?

Maybe I'm laying down?

Well...what...huh?

My nails were never this long..

My teeth, damn were they always this sharp?

Agh...this is terrible..

Am...am i breathing?

Yeah...wait, no..

Kagome..

Ka..Kagome..

Kagome...she...she's in trouble...

Kagome...needs me...she...oh...oh god...Everything is so blurry...How..what...when...

KAGOME!

The darkness...oh god it's so warm...but I'm freezing...it's getting worse...the pain...my hands...my head...everything hurts...can...how...

the darkness...it consumes me...

the darkness...it becomes me...

"God my head.." Kagome muttered bringing her hand to her forehead, the throbbing had begun when she woke and ceased to end. She walked against the walls of the small room Inuyasha had put her in, for reasons she still did not know. None the less, she went in, and has hated it ever since.

"Why is he so god damn controlling!" She said to herself, coming to stop at the edge of her window. Rain beat down on the glass heavily, the dark clouds covering the skies, a war raging inside of them full of light.

"Why is he so god damn stubborn?" She asked to the walls, even though she knew and answer wouldn't be returned.

"Why is Inuyasha just himself in general?" Sesshomaru asked from the doorway. "I mean, controlling and stubborn are his only qualities." He said with a proud smirk.

"Why are you here?" Kagome asked.

"Well, to see how your holding up. Rin told me you weren't feeling well this morning, a little stomach bug I presume?" He asked.

"Yeah, I probably ate too much at breakfast." Kagome muttered.

"You hardly ate anything when you came here, now all you do is attack the food. Ordering room service, begging Sango for burgers, demanding Miroku bring you a chocolate cake.."

"Is EATING a crime? Or are you worried I'll get fat?" Kagome asked, gritting her teeth as she turned to look at him.

"Well, you were chubby when you got here. A couple of pounds won't make a difference." Sesshomaru said with a honest tone.

"What?! That's a terrible thing to say!" Kagome shouted. "I mean really! How dare you!"

"Jeez, Humans are so sensitive." Sesshomaru said with a roll of his eyes.

"Don't mock your own kind Sesshomaru, your no better than any other human." Kagome mumbled.

"My dear I'm not human. I never was." Sesshomaru said with a smile. "The fact that you think so only proves my point."

"What point? And if your not human than what ARE you?" Kagome asked.

"Oh did I not say? My how rude of me." Sesshomaru smiled "But I'm afraid it's none of your business as to what I am. Now if you'll excuse me." He said with a quick turn on his heels, he pushed off the door frame and left the room.

"What...Sesshomaru?!" Kagome yelled as she ran to the door, poking her head through into the hall but seeing that he was no where in sight.

"What the fuck is going on here?" She muttered to herself before retreating back into her room.

"What the hell is he..?"

"Jesus." Sango muttered.

"You rang?" Miroku asked, jumping down onto the couch beside Sango.

"No I didn't actually." Sango said crossing her arms over her chest.

"What's got you rubbed the wrong way?" Miroku asked.

"Just the thought of...of Kagome going back there...she...she's so fragile and she will certainly be-"

"No Sango you can't think things like that-"

"Like what?! You didn't even let me finis-"

"I don't have to I know what your going to-"

"No you don't-"

"Yeah I do-"

"What do you suppose they're fighting about?" Sesshomaru asked an unsuspecting Rin, who was spying on the fighting couple from the doorway.

"Probably sex, that's all they fight about anymore." Rin shrugged.

"You think so?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Just listen for a few seconds." Rin whispered.

"AND THE FACT THAT YOU DON'T SEEM TO WANT TO TRY MY FAVORITE POSITION ANYMORE-"

"YOUR FAVORITE POSITION?! REALLY?! I HAVE FAVORITES TOO THAT YOU NEVER TRY!"

"THAT'S BECAUSE NONE OF THEM PLEASE US BOTH ONLY YOU!"

"MIROKU YOU'RE A GUY YOU GET PLEASED JUST BY HAVING A HAND BRUSH YOUR JEANS THE RIGHT WAY ON A SUNDAY!"

"THAT WAS ONE GOD DAMN TIME AND YOU SWORE YOU WOULDN'T BRING IT UP!"

"See..." Rin said turning around to face Sesshomaru. "What did Kagome say?"

"She said she is just fine and misses everyone." Sesshomaru said with a smile.

"When will Inuyasha let us see her?" Rin asked.

"Rin...I don't know but either way it doesn't seem like a good idea-"

"YOU NEED TO START SHAVING THOSE LEGS BECAUSE DAMN THEY CAUSE SOME IRRITATION! AND SINCE I DO ALL THE WORK YOU SHOULD AT LEAST GROOM YOURSELF!"

"I TAKE CARE OF MYSELF PRETTY WELL THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I AM A MAN! I DON'T NEED TO SHAVE MY LEGS! YOU HOW EVER SHOULD INVEST IN A WEED WACKER FOR YOUR NETHER REGION!"

"WOW IF YOU WANTED SOMETHING TONIGHT YOU JUST BLEW IT!"

"LIKE I WAS GOING TO GET ANY ANYWAY! WOULDN'T WANT TO GET LOST DOWN THERE ANYWAY RIGHT?!"

"YOU SON OF A-"

"Come on Rin, why don't we leave the woman to battle their cat fight out alone shall we?" Sesshomaru said, placing his hand on Rin's back leading her out into the hall. He brought his hand to her side, grabbing hers with ease.

"Sesshomaru...what did you mean earlier? What don't you think is a good idea?" Rin asked.

"Well..talking to Kagome. In her condition...she really can't help her emotions...she may do something drastic and we can't tell how she will react with people.." Sesshomaru said.

"She's pregnant Sesshomaru not Bipolar." Rin replied. Sesshomaru stopped walking, turning to face Rin with a look of disbelief.

"How did you find that out?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Sesh, it isn't that hard to tell. Morning sickness, cravings, she and Inuyasha had sex what almost a month ago? I'm gullible but not stupid." Rin shrugged.

"Does anyone else know?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Sango hasn't talked about it, but she may know. I can't be certain, though she is preoccupied with Miroku so I doubt she has had time to notice." Rin answered sternly. "Sesshomaru..why don't we have sex?"

Sesshomaru's eyes widened, and his face flushed. "I...thought you wanted to wait till.." He brought his hand up to clear his throat before continuing "Wait until your 24th birthday, our 3 year anniversary."

"Well yeah but even then..you never go beyond kissing me and holding me. Do you want me?" Rin asked with a innocent eyes, the ones Sesshomaru couldn't resist.

"Rin no it's not..that...It's just..you know my ways are different than yours..I don't just have 'sex' I mate...remember?" Sesshomaru said bringing Rin closer to him.

"Do you not want me to be your mate..?" Rin asked.

"No Rin it isn't that! It has nothing to do with you your...your perfect. But you see what happened with Kagome and Inuyasha? He loves her but he has no idea if she loves him. Now he has had sex with her, conceived a child with her. They aren't even 'mated' or even married. It was an accidental pregnancy, he doesn't know about it, I mean...do you see what I am trying to say because I lost it.." Sesshomaru struggled.

"Yes I see...but Sesh we've been together a while.."

"And we have all the time in the world. I am not leaving any time soon. I promised I'd take care of you, remember?" He asked.

"Yes...of course" Rin said with a nod.

"Good, now don't worry. I promise when we become one.." He said with the entwine of their fingers "It will be the best feeling you have ever experienced.."

"Okay Sesshomaru...I love you." Rin said.

Sesshomaru smiled, and bent down to capture her lips with his. "I love you too."
