I've been using my free day from school to write this story and I hope to write on weekends and update somewhat often.

Anyways, I know that the first two chapters may seem rushed, but that's just because I want to speed through what happens before the main event of the party. It's also a bit harder to rack up the word count on mobile than you'd expect!

Here, we'll start getting into the real meat of the story!

To Harry, the diner was everything he thought it would be, and more! Walking into the diner, Harry could see the main room filled with streamers, balloons, and drawings on the walls. Squinting through his glasses, Harry could make out the shape of some sort of animal with sticks coming up from it's head, crudely drawn in yellow crayon, on one of the many papers plastered to the wall.

Following the Dursleys, Harry moved further into the room and what he saw amazed him. On the stage in the middle of the room was a robot! Not just any robot though, but a yellow bear stood proud in the center of the stage, mechanical mouth moving in time with the cheesy lyrics playing from the speaker behind it, singing about parties and pizza. Harry had never seen anything like it, and if he didn't see the metal joints between the fabric covering the robot, he would have said the sight was almost magical.

Deciding to take a look around, Harry walked to a poster-covered wall. One of the posters featured a cartoonish version of the bear he had witnessed performing and a big red "Coming Soon!" over it's head. But where onstage there was only one character, on the poster there were many, many more. He counted a yellow rabbit and bird, brown bear, blue bunny, and a red fox before moving on to read the next poster.

"Number one in ani-ma-tron-ic entertainment?" Harry read slowly. That was a weird word. Animatronic? He shrugged, wondering if every robot had a special name for it or if these ones were just different.

Knowing he had only a few minutes before Dudley's pals were due to show up, Harry headed towards his relatives to grab some food before it was gone. The server showed up only a minute after he did, setting down a large meat lovers pizza (the Friday special!) and leaving. Quickly grabbing a piece, Harry blew air on it until it had cooled enough for him to eat. In the background he could hear Aunt Petunia giving in to Dudley's whining for coins to use in the arcade room, but he didn't care enough about watching Dudley have a tantrum in public to stick around for long. He had a pocket half-full with coins he had found on the floor and was ready to try playing some of the arcade machines. Polishing off the slice with a few more bites and wiping his fingers with a napkin, Harry got up from the table and moved towards the arcade room.

It had been about four hours since a large cake had been served and all of Dudley's 'friends' had met up at a table near the bear robo- uh, animatronic, to take photos with the birthday boy. Harry had wanted to sit down at the table with cake but Aunt Petunia had simply glared at him from across the room in a silent command to stay away. He had felt a flash of bitterness at that; all the photos in the Dursley home were of Dudley and none of them even had Harry in the background. After that, Harry had chosen to head to the darkened arcade room with the last of his pitiful coin supply. It was also there that Harry had finally acknowledged the tiredness he felt as a result of the loudness of the place and the bear's constant performing, staring at the arcade screens for so long, and just enjoying himself in general.

It started with his eyelids drooping and his movements slowing while he played one of the games. Then the game ended and he stepped away to take a break, taking a seat beside the machine. Then he fell asleep.

It was a few hours later when Harry woke up, and in that time the guests of the diner had cleared out, the Dursleys with them. By now it had become dark and he could barely see more than the outlines of the machines around him. Getting up, Harry rubbed his eyes and scowled.

"Goddamn Dursleys," he said under his breath. Now he would have to figure out how to get back to Privet Drive on his own, not to mention that he would be walking the entire way there too. Moving slowly, Harry made his way past the arcade cabinets and the deactivated animatronic on the show stage towards where he remembered the entrance to be. Reaching the doors, he attempted to turn the handle but it wouldn't budge. Feeling no small amount of alarm, Harry tried to open them using the handle of the door next to the one he had already tried. No luck. Frustrated, he kicked the glass door in the vain hope that it would shatter, but the glass refused to show so much as a crack. Cursing, Harry turned back towards the interior of the diner, hoping to find an alternative exit. He was so caught up in his worry that he would be trapped inside the diner all weekend, without any proper way of getting food other than raiding the place's kitchen, that he didn't notice the blinking red light of a CCTV camera in the corner. Someone had been watching him.

Whoooo! 3 chapters in 24 hours? I've hit 1k for sure!

Maybe even 2k if I'm lucky

I don't think I'll be writing much until this weekend though, so we'll see when I can upload a new chapter.Just a heads up, but I plan on there being somewhat graphic descriptions of major injuries and death next chapter.

God, this site is butchering my chapters sooo badly...

Thanks for reading! Please leave a review, even if it is just a smiley face!
