"Shadow?" Maddilyn whispered into the darkness of her room and looked for the spirit.

"Yes?" Shadow was sitting at her desk. "Ready to go?"

"Yeah. Dad and Janet are in bed so have Luna do her thing."

"She already did." The spirit didn't say it smugly he stated the phrase like a fact.

"Wait. When?" She didn't buy it at all

"I told her to wait in there til your parents came in and cast the spell to make them sleep." He was holding a black cape. "You are going to need this."

"Thanks." She put on the cape and grabbed her suit cases before heading out.

She went to her father's room and opened the door just a crack. "Luna." She called into the darkness. "Come on we have to go."

"Lets go then." The moon spirit appeared on the young witches head. "I have to be outside anyways."

Maddilyn left a note to her father and locked up the house before leaving into the night. The crisp, night air made her pull the ape closer to her body as she waited for the bus to come. Luna sat on the half witches head, focusing on the moon. There was only one other person at the bus stop but she didn't say a word to the man. When the bus finally came the man just stayed laying on the bench.

"Where to?" The driver asked.

"Death City."

"Sit in the back, ma'am."

Nodding she made her way to the very back. For a few stops she was the only person sitting on the bus until the last stop where the weird rich kid got on with a couple of girls. Both were dressed up in cow girl get up and had blonde hair and blue eyes. She guessed that the bus driver told them to sit in the back too because they were headed her way.

The two girls took up the seat across the aisle so he had to sit by Maddilyn. The eldest of the two girls asked the boy if he had the snacks. Which he gave her.

"I'm heading home." He seemed angry that she had stuck with that nickname. "Where are you going?"

"To visit my mom." She was a little tired but kept her eyes open. "What else would I be doing?"

"Your mom is dead." He looked at her. "I was told that by your class mates so don't try to lie."

She turned her head towards the window, tears clouding her gaze. The one thing she hated to talk about was the death of her mother. Aside from the police only her father knew that she had witnessed the loving woman get killed. The images still haunted her dreams.

While she was thinking this the driver called out for them to get off the bus and told them that the bus to Death City would be there in the morning. Setting her bags down, she sat on the couch. Kid sat beside her as the two girls sat across from them. She couldn't keep her eyes open much longer so she set Luna in one of the suit cases with Shadow. Leaning back, she let her eyes close in slumber.
