Reformed Saiyans

Chapter Four: Training Week Over

A/N: Another Note to let new readers know, I'm going over old chapters, and rewriting lots of it. So it may not make a lot of sense for following chapters of the Saiyan Saga.

"Oh Come on!" Gohan whined, still running. Once again, he had to run, he couldn't stop or he be mauled, but he was much slower than before due to exhaustion, barely escaping the bear's powerful jaw. After twenty minutes Gohan found him stuck, surrounded by the big bear, up against a large rock formation.

The halfbreed shivered and shook in fright, shielding his eyes as the bear tried to strike him, but it never came. When Gohan felt brave enough to open his eyes, he noticed the bear was gone, and not only that he was at the top of the rock formation.

Gohan glanced in several directions, then carefully on all fours, peaked over the rock formation, widening his eyes in shock.

"H-How did I get up here?!" He wondered. He wasn't that high up, probably about thirty feet at best, but still, there were no ledges or anything from him to crawl down on. Gohan tried to climb over but nearly lost his grip and decided not to.

Climbing back up he sighed to himself, took a deep breath then shouted. "Uncle Raditz!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. No response, he tried again. "Uncle RAAAADITZ!" Still no response. "Please come help me! I'm stuck…" He cried.

Gohan bit his lips, beginning to sob, but stopped noticing the shadow, he looked up and saw Raditz, the boy's face lit up.

"Uncle Raditz!" Gohan said cheerfully.

Raditz gave a confused look, raising an eyebrow. "How in the hell did you get up here?" Raditz asked. "I know you can't fly."

Gohan shrugged. "I don't know."

Raditz shrugged and turned away. "Welp, oh well then."

"What!?" Gohan gasped. "You're just gonna leave me here?!"

"If you got up here, you can get it down." Raditz said, turning back.

"Yeah but I don't know how I got up here!" Gohan complained.

"And how's that my problem?" Raditz asked, crossing his arms, waiting for an answer.

Gohan frowned angrily. "You're my Uncle! Why can't you help me?!" He whined.

"Oh silly boy, I can't help you, you have to figure some things out yourself." Raditz replied. "Otherwise you'll grow up without common sense."

Gohan glared at Raditz. "That doesn't mean you have to leave me here!" He snarled.

"With that attitude I think I will." Raditz said, floating away.

"Wait! No!" Gohan shouted, tears swelled in his eyes. Too late, Raditz was gone. "Please Come Back!" Gohan began to sob loudly, cuddling up to his knees. Eventually, after a while, he dozed off due to exhaustion, later waking up during the late afternoon to realize he was still stuck.

"So hungry…" Gohan said to himself, his stomach rumbled loudly. He peaked over again to check if he really was still high up, and yup, he definitely was. Gohan crawled away from the edge and sat up against the wall behind him.

Gohan sighed again, hoping that maybe if he waited long enough, his Father and Mother would come home early and his father could come get him. Then again he may not survive another few days. Gohan wondered why this had to happen to him, why couldn't his father have been an Earthling, then he'd never have to go through this.

Several hours later, night had fallen, sitting near the campfire, Raditz was surprised at how long Gohan was taking.

"The boy should've figured out how to get off by now." Raditz said. He sighed and shrugged. "Well, I guess that just means he didn't have the potential I thought he did." Raditz laid down, placing his head on the log. "Or perhaps he just needs a little nudge." Raditz yawned and closed his eyes, turning to his side, as he fell asleep.

The next morning came and went, night fell again the next day. Gohan still was stuck, and hungry was beginning to get too much for him, he had to try and get off, if he didn't he'd die of starvation.

So Gohan tried to lower himself over the edge, grabbing on to any sort or form of edges on the formation's wall as he climbed down, however there wasn't any good gripping to grab, it caused Gohan to slip, and fall.

Gohan screamed yet again, falling towards the bottom, turning around, he faced the ground, it came quicker before he could ever react, fearing the worst, Gohan thought he was going to die, or at the very least suffer near fatal injuries.

Surprisingly, he stopped himself, he was floating in the air, Gohan dropped his jaw. "I'm...floating?" Gohan said to himself. His face lit up. "I'm floating!" Gohan was floating alright, but when he tried to reach the ground, he couldn't figure out how to turn it off. It was almost as if he was in zero gravity.

After a few minutes his energy dropped, considering he was unfamiliar with such a technique, it drained him quickly. He was tired, but not exhausted like before, Gohan stood up on the ground, beginning to find his way back.

"Good. The runt made it down." Raditz floated above Gohan, in a spot where the boy couldn't see him, hidden behind some tall trees. "He even learned how to float." Raditz floated straight and cracked his knuckles, forming a large grin on his face. "Time for phase two."

Clapping his hands together, then concentrating an immense amount of ki, which enveloped his hands. A short moment later it became shadowy, dark, and when Raditz pulled his two hands away opposite of each other, it became a shadowy energy ball.

Taking the shadowy sphere with one hand, Raditz shook his right hand and commanded the sphere to obey his will. The sphere moved in front of Raditz and turned into a humanoid figure, the only thing you could see was piercing white eyes, everything else was void-like, shadowy.

"You know what to do." Raditz said. The shadowy figure nodded, heading in Gohan's direction. "Just in case, I'll observe the battle, make sure the runt isn't killed, or wins too easily."

Raditz followed the shadowy figure to Gohan, but in a different direction, masking his energy and himself. Finding Gohan looking through a berry bush, deciding if they're poisonous or not.

"They look okay…" Gohan muttered. "But…what if they're poisonous?" Gohan looked at the berry, and heard his stomach rumble, contemplating on if he should or shouldn't eat it. He bit his lips, took a deep breath and decided to eat it.

Before he reached his mouth, Gohan stopped, a sense of eeriness loomed in the area. Unconsciously dropping the berries, Gohan turned around, and slowly looked at the area, scratching his head in confusion.

"Hello?" He said. Nothing, no response. Gohan brushed it off, turning back to the berries, finally he decided not to eat them. Gohan then wandered off, hoping to find even the smallest thing to eat.

Finally, he stumbled upon a small creek, full of fish. The young boy took off all but his pants, using his shirt as a way to catch some small fish. He didn't want to get wet at all, but at least this way only his shirt would be soaked. The creek was 5 feet at its deepest but that was only in the deep holes, there were plenty of areas that were barely a foot deep, and luckily for Gohan he was near those spots.

Gohan took two strong sticks he found earlier and tied his shirt to it, allowing it to stay straight in the rapid creek. It didn't take long for several good sized fish to get caught in it, in fact a really large fish got itself stuck in there, it must've been really dumb.

When Gohan went to collect the fish from the trap he created, he whacked their heads hard with a rock, before cooking them up on a quickly made campfire. There he had that strange feeling again, as if something was lurking, Gohan glanced around, but saw nothing, he shrugged off again.

He was too hungry to think properly.

"It appears the runt's awareness is a lot greater than I realized." Raditz whispered to himself. He was in a thick tree, observing Gohan. Not far from him was the shadowy figure he had created, lurking around Gohan, keeping itself assured to not reveal itself...yet.

Raditz glanced at the shadowy figure he created, nodding a signal to it. It immediately turned it's attention towards Gohan, instantly darting to the boy, and kicking him hard before he could even understand what was going on.

"Ow!" Gohan screamed. He got back up and looked around. "What the heck was that!" Gohan looked again, then started walking to his fish, however the shadowy figure stood in his way, Gohan's eyes went wide in fear. "W-What the?! W-What are you!"

Gohan took a step back from fright, the figure had not responded to the boy, and instead gave an observing..curious look. Gohan bit his lip, and backed up, wondering what he should do. Then the figure charged at Gohan, turning into an orb of darkness with a trail that lingered for a second behind him.

Gohan turned around, ran, and screamed. "Somebody Help!" He yelled. Obviously, Gohan's voice merely echoed through the forest and reached no one, there was no one to reach, well except Raditz but he was the one that had ordered the shadow to do this in the first place.

Gohan continued to run as fast as he could, but it wasn't enough, the Shadowy easily matched his speed, and outran him, going in front of him. Gohan stopped himself, pushing his feet against the dirt, and tried to take a rapid turn, but he tripped over himself.

Gohan flipped over to face the shadowy figure, shaking frightenedly as it aimed to attack him. This was it, Gohan thought he was going to die this time, for real, and there was no stopping him. As the figure's fist approached, thoughts loomed the boys mind, thoughts of his Mother and his Father, old memories were some that came into mind, but more dark and evil thoughts came after.

Thoughts of his father being beaten by the Saiyans, not that he knew how they looked but Gohan assumed they all looked something like Raditz but more wicked, thoughts of his mother being killed by them, or worse.

Then it clicked in the boy, he couldn't just sit around and let himself die, his parents would be in grief, and he couldn't let anyone down. Not his father, not his Uncle, not his Mother, he couldn't let his home planet be destroyed. He wouldn't, he HAD to do something, and he refused to let anyone hurt his family, friends, and home.

Taking a feralistic turn, Gohan bounced off to the right, and leaped at the shadowy figure like a ferocious beast, throwing several swipes at it's head as it was knocked to the ground. Once the figure had been knocked to the ground, Gohan hopped off, and got on his feet, panting heavily.

He wondered, if it was over, and thought it was his, a smile formed on his face. "I...I did it?" Gohan said. "I did it!" The halfbreed cheered to himself, thinking he had victory over the battle, that was when the shadowy figure got back up, and kicked Gohan in the back.

Above the trees, Raditz grinned. "Looks like he has some use after all." He said. Raditz continued to watch, as Gohan tried to bravely fight the Shadowy figure. "But let's see just how long he can last when I ramp it up a notch!"

Concentrating his energy, Raditz's aura outlined his body as power transferred to the shadowy figure, it became gradually faster, stronger, pushing Gohan into a corner as the two exchanged blows. Eventually, Gohan's attacks were too slow for it, it dodged nearly every attack, blocking the ones it didn't dodge.

Gohan jumped forward, swiping his claws several times, the figure dodging each time, left, right, up, down, repeat. Then Gohan jumped up higher, barely above the figure, throwing several kicks, but the figure inched it's head several times.

As a counter, the figure harshly slapped the back of it's hand against Gohan's left cheek, causing Gohan to crash in the ground. When Gohan got up to rebalance himself, he saw it coming rapidly at him, Gohan swallowed hard and bit his lips. He shook his head, and took a stance, trying to stay as courageous as he could.

Once again, Gohan jumped forward and threw attacks, this time harder, faster, he was already improving, even managing to land a double-axe handle against the back of the figure's neck. The figure was knocked into the ground, two feet away from Gohan.

Once again, Gohan smiled, but like last time, it wasn't over, and this time the figure got up quicker. The figure then took the offensive, slamming it's fist into Gohan's stomach. Gohan fell to the ground, coughing the oxygen out of his lungs and his saliva as he fell to his knees.

The figure pulled it's leg back and harshly rammed it against Gohan's chin, causing him to fly and crash against a nearby tree. The tree shook, then fell backwards on impact. Gohan tried to stand again but those previous two blows took way too much out of him, Gohan was panting heavily, his legs felt weak, shakily he managed to stand. There was a wide bleeding cut on his left shoulder.

The figure came again aiming to strike out Gohan, Gohan wanted to move, he tried to command his body to move, but it wouldn't listen. Gohan stood waiting to be hit, the figure sent a barrage of fists against Gohan, doing an uppercut to send Gohan up to his level to start the chain of the attacks.

Wham, Wham, Wham! The figure threw its fists so rapidly, that it already had done several dozen strikes against Gohan's chin and face, each fist kept Gohan in the air long enough for the next fist to do the same. The figure let Gohan fall then kneed him in the gut, once again pushing all oxygen out and even a drop of blood mixed in with his saliva.

The knee sent Gohan backup and again, the figure threw several punches. It did this for another three good minutes before it finally gave a powerful kick in Gohan's chest, causing Gohan to go flying. A loud crack could be heard in his chest, clearly the figure had broken a rib.

Raditz continued to observe in full confidence, he knew he had it under control. He already saw what could happen if Gohan was pushed into a corner, he wanted to see how far he could go before it became too much.

The figure made its approach to Gohan slowly, who was barely keeping his eyes open, but the halfbreed struggled to lift himself up. He didn't know why he was trying so hard, it would just be so much easier to let himself fall asleep, but Gohan did it anyway, after a few seconds he stood back up, by that point the figure had gone to repeat it's attack.

This time it slammed its fist several times in Gohan's gut before resuming a chain of barrages against Gohan's face, then after thirty seconds, it took a final kick once again, causing Gohan to go flying.

This time a tooth with a bit of blood came out of his mouth as Gohan fell against the ground. The figure made it's approach slowly, again, and Gohan tried to lift himself. When Gohan actually managed to stand up, he fell back to his knees, coughing a mixture of saliva and blood.

It made Gohan a bit nauseated, but he shook his head and brushed it off. Gohan tried to throw a fist but completely missed, he was a bit dizzy. Once again the figure repeated it's barrage of attacks.

This time Gohan thought he was done for, this time, he really thought he was going to die. But even with that, he couldn't give up, he couldn't die here, he had to keep going. A bright white aura glowed around Gohan as he broke free from the figure's repetitive chain.

Floating in front of it's head, Gohan clenched his fist and slammed it against the figure's head. The figure was knocked instantly in the ground twenty feet away. Gohan dropped back to the ground, ready for round two, a second wind had energized him.

Now Gohan made the defense, throwing a barrage of fists at the shadowy figure, which barely evaded the young boy's attacks. Gohan continued to throw a barrage of fists and kicks in various areas at the figure until eventually, he slammed his fist into the thing's gut, or at least where ti's gut would be if it was real.

The thing became stunned, and shaky, Gohan took his chance, shoving both of his feet into the figure's chest. The figure crashed further ahead this time, nearly over a hundred feet. Gohan chased after it, and this time, placing his two hands by opposite sides of his waist, purple energy gathered.

Raditz looked impressed, surprised even. "Incredible." Raditz muttered. "He's improving way more than I thought he would! He managed to learn my Double Sunday! Seems pushing him into a corner is an effective method after all."

After a good fifteen seconds, Gohan unleashed his two purple energy beams, and as the figure stood up, both blasts struck it, causing the figure to be consumed by it. Finally, it was over, and for real this time.

Gohan passed out from fatigue but not before he cheered joyfully to himself.

The next day came, and when Gohan awoke, he was back at the campgrounds with his Uncle around. Not only that but to his surprise, all of his injuries were gone? He couldn't remember too much, except the fact that he managed to beat that weird shadowy figure.

"About time you've woken up, halfbreed." Raditz said. He was setting up several large fish on large branches, cooking over a large fire. "Making breakfast, are you hungry?"

Gohan's mouth began to drool as he stared at the fish, completely forgetting about what he was previously thinking.

"Yes!" Gohan said without hesitation. He was starving, he had some food yesterday, but nowhere near enough. When the fish was cooked, Gohan dug in, and stuffed his stomach to the brim. After that, there was still some food to spare, and Gohan had remembered what he was thinking earlier.

He looked at his Uncle with an angry glare.

Nearly biting on his food, he stopped noticing Gohan's look. "What?" Raditz asked, shooting a confused look.

Gohan frowned. "You left me alone!" He growled. "And you didn't try to help me get down!"

"So?" Raditz replied, he continued eating his fish, taking a bite and swallowing. "I mean you got down, otherwise you wouldn't be here."

Gohan grumbled. "Yeah! But you didn't have to leave me alone!" He yelled. "But you left me alone! And I nearly died because something was trying to attack me! I nearly died!" Wait a second...he nearly died, where'd all his injuries go, Gohan wondered. He brushed it off again, expecting an answer from his Uncle.

Raditz shrugged. "I don't see the big deal, you learned how to float, and then you beat the shadow, so who cares."

Gohan growled again, showing his teeth. "You're not a very nice Un-..." Gohan paused. Wait, how did he know about the Shadow unless...that's it! He knew! He knew and let Gohan fight him anyway! Gohan was pissed! "You tricked me!"

"What do you mean I tricked you?" Raditz asked curiously.

"You knew about the shadow! That was you! Wasn't it?!" Gohan accused. "How could you do that! I nearly died!"

Raditz smirked. "Damn and here I thought I was being real slick." Raditz replied mockingly. Gohan crossed his arms, turning around and huffed. Raditz raised an eyebrow. "Giving me the silent treatment? Oh let's see how long that'll last."

Raditz rolled his eyes, chuckling. "Kid, you should be thanking me." He said. "Not only did you learn to float, but you learned to fight, and really good at that." Raditz walked up to Gohan, patting his head and tousling his hair. "You should be proud, your father was."

Gohan looked up to his Uncle, biting his lips and then sighed. "Okay." He smiled.

"Good, because we've got at least two more days of training." Raditz replied. Gohan dropped his jaw, and fell to his back purposely, sighing reluctantly.

That's exactly what happened, two days of harsh training went and gone, Gohan did several tasks Raditz had asked him of, whether it was attending the garden, running several laps, swimming through harsh waters.

Raditz even threw the boy in the ocean, about a hundred miles from here, it was cold, and the waters were violent, there were even sharks in there. Gohan didn't like that one, that was the worst out of all of them. He survived however.

"Oh now you're gonna give me a towel after all that?" Gohan frowned.

"Yup!" Raditz smiled.

At last, a day of rest came, and Raditz had remembered the hole in the wall.

"Welp! C'mon brat! We got some work to do!" Raditz shouted, carrying several buckets of cement, some buckets of paint, among other things that he had.

Gohan gave a confused look. "What're we doing?"

"Gotta fix that hole in the wall you caused." Raditz said. Gohan gave a guilty look. "Don't want your mother to banshee scream at me."

Raditz took care of setting up the foundation, got rid of broken and split pieces of wood. It was about a few hours, and he had mostly Gohan handing him things, including drinks and such. After lunch all that really remained was the painting part, this time Gohan had to help, starting with the first layer of paint.

However, Gohan accidentally tripped over a bucket and it went flying, falling over Raditz's head. The paint spilled all over Raditz, covering him in paint. Gohan took a step back out of slightly fear, then tried to walk back in hopes he could sneak away.

Nope, Raditz turned slowly to Gohan, and the boy widened his eyes, but instead of an angry smirk, a creepy smile appeared on Raditz. He lifted the bucket of his head, then took the other bucket of paint and unleashed the paint at Gohan.

"Aaah!" Gohan screamed. He tried to get away but the paint had gotten all over his clothes, now his mother was gonna be pissed. "Ah man! You jerk!"

Raditz ignored Gohan's comment and laughed at him. "Hah! You're covered in paint now!"

Gohan frowned and growled. He took another bucket of paint and threw it at Raditz, this time making the paint Raditz was already covered in, much thicker. Raditz dropped his jaw, looking shocked for a second then became mad.

"Oh you're gonna get it, runt!" Raditz yelled. Gohan immediately ran, giving himself a head start. For a moment, the two almost seemed like an actual family, no they did look like one. When Gohan tried to escape, Raditz caught up to him, using his tail to wrap itself around Gohan's gut.

"You're not going anywhere now!" Raditz grinned evilly.

"No! Raditz! Please! Let me go! I'm sorry!" Gohan begged.

Raditz chuckled maliciously. "Nope! You're going to pay for it now!" Then Raditz began….tickling him? Gohan laughed harshly, making it hard to breathe.

"S-Stop!" Gohan stuttered, he continued to laugh. "P-Please Raditz!"

"Say Uncle!" Raditz shouted.

"Uncle!" Gohan shouted. "Uncle!" He repeated himself. Finally Raditz moved away, but then Gohan decided to get revenge, firing an energy blast against his face, before quickly sneaking away.

"Oh is that how we're gonna play it?" Raditz mumbled.

One week passed, both Goku and Chichi had returned home, with some groceries as well. Chichi inspected every single part of the house expecting something to be dirty or off, but it was clean and spotless.

"Okay…" She said, standing in front of Raditz and Gohan. "It's clean." Raditz was sitting on the couch monitoring Gohan, and Gohan was doing his studies on the coffee table. "Too clean."

Goku came up to Chichi, and joined the conversation. "Ah come on Chichi! He did a good job! Cut him some slack."

Chichi looked at Goku then back at Raditz , narrowing his eyes. "So nothing interesting happened? You guys didn't break anything?"

"Nope." Raditz replied.

"Nuh Uh." Gohan quickly added.

Chichi became suspicious, they were hiding something and she was going to find out. "Let me get this straight, this whole week we were gone. The house stayed clean, and neither of you." She looked specifically at Raditz. "Especially you. Haven't done much since we've been gone?"

Raditz nodded. "Of course. Stop being a paranoid Woman." He said. Chichi sent an angry glare in response to the name. Raditz cleared his throat. "Ahem, Chichi." He gave a sheepish smile.

Chichi took two fingers to her eyes then pointed to Raditz, and Raditz smirked in response. Then Chichi went to the backyard, screaming bloody murder, Raditz and Gohan thought they were caught.

"Mom, it's not what you think!" Gohan said, panicking.

"Not what I think?!" She said in a somewhat angry tone. Then her tone changed to something Gohan wasn't used to, and it caught him off-guard. "You guys went and made a large garden in our backyard!"

"I swear! There's no hole in the wa-..." Gohan paused, realizing what she had said. But it was too late, Chichi's ears perked when hearing this she turned to Gohan, giving him the Mom look, and Raditz slapped his forehead.

"Hole in the what?!" She said. Gohan closed his mouth, refusing to speak. "Gohan…" Chichi let a low growl escape her as she intimidated the child into opening his mouth.

Which really quickly and out of panic, Gohan did. "We accidentally made a huge hole in the wall but it's fixed now! I swear!" He replied. Chichi's eyes went wide.

"Welp that's my queue, nice knowing you guys. Goodbye!" Raditz said, trying to step away.

"Oh no you don't! YOU GET BACK HERE!" Chichi yelled. Raditz ran off, with Chichi throwing stuff at him, even when he tried to leave through the front door, Chichi had already thrown several glass vases at Raditz.

"Why're you attacking only me!" Raditz shouted.

With all the commotion, Goku and Gohan snuck away, outside of the house through the backdoor. Chichi immediately heard the doors creak, and she whipped around opening the door.

"Goooku!" She shouted. It was already too late, Goku had grabbed Gohan and started to fly away, he was still in sight, which meant he was definitely not far enough. "Get back here you!" She heard the other door creak, and turned, her eyes turned into flames. "No you don't!"

That's it, Raditz didn't care, he broke through the front door, causing another hole, and instantly disappeared. That was when Chichi took a deep breath, and let out her signature banshee scream.

The End….wait no...that's not right, it's supposed to be To be continued...whatever, it's technically the end of this chapter.
