Reformed Saiyans
Chapter Six: A Dark Place.
Gohan lowered himself to his Father, hoping he had an answer for all this...confusion, yet it only added more questions. That...that didn't look like him...well it did, but also it didn't. This Goku was scarred, half his face was mechanical, and his right arm was gone, on his left face there was a long straight scar that went from his far head, nearly to his chin.
"D-Dad?!" Gohan shouted. No response, Goku, his father, whoever this was, or is supposed to be, was focused on his task. He looked like he was rebuilding his home almost. Gohan walked to his father, shaking him. "Dad! Are you okay!" No response. Gohan's worry rose, what was going on? Why wouldn't his Father answer him?
"Dad! Come on! This isn't funny!" He whined, tears formed in the corner of his eyes. "What's wrong Dad!"
Goku continued to stay in this state of mind he was in, it was like a trance of some sort. Goku continued to rebuild his home, carrying tools, and bricks and such, mumbling under his breath.
"I'll fix it. I-..I can fix it! I...I have to fix it." Goku's tone was sad, regretful. "It'll all be better when I fix it all, it all goes right back to the way it was..Right?" A smile formed on his face, but..it was a depressing one. Goku continued as if Gohan was never there, fixing it.
Gohan decided to look around for more clues, his father wouldn't listen to him, and what he said...it didn't make sense to fix what? Gohan thought to find his Uncle, maybe his Uncle would know something, or his Mother! Yes his mother….unfortunately, finding his mother was a mistake.
The first thing he'd done was check the ruins of his house, most of it was gone, but remains of the kitchen and family room existed. Next he'd check the original house that Goku and his adoptive Grandfather Gohan lived in. That...showed Gohan something he'd wish he'd never saw.
There it was, behind the house, a grave, engraved on it, was his Mother's name. Gohan fell to his knees.
"N-No! How! Mom!" For a moment he disbelieved it. There was no way that was possible! His mother was fine not too long ago! He just saw her. Gohan ran back to the house, still seeing his Father stuck in a trance. "Dad!" He shook his father's legs. Still no response. "Where's Mom! Where is she! Where's Mommy!"
For a second, it seemed as if Goku broke through his trance. "Mom? Who?" Goku immediately went back in his trance afterwards, slightly shaking his head.
"Yes my Mom!" Gohan cried. "Chichi!" Gohan stopped for a second, saying his mother's name...that...was weird. He didn't like it, but still, it did something to Goku, Goku stopped for a second.
"Chichi…" He muttered, almost like a whisper that echoed. "She's been gone for a long time. Couldn't handle the heartbreak...after...the.." Goku stopped, his voice began to break, but then he went back into his trance.
After that, Gohan couldn't get him to speak anymore. There had to be an explanation for this! There was no way his mother was dead, or his father was...like this! Gohan decided to find Bulma, she was closest, he'd head to Kame House but going to West City seemed quicker plus he remembered it better.
Arriving in West City, it was dusty, and like the forest, like Mount Paozu, it was wrecked, in ruins as well. Gohan started to think this was a nightmare, and he wanted to wake up, but couldn't! He stayed focused, if he started falling apart now, he'd never get out...of whatever this is.
Finally, arriving at what used to be the Capsule Corp, Gohan searched the building, it was empty. So empty, a former shell of what it used to be, kinda creepy, but more depressing. The halfbreed whipped his head, he heard something, immediately he got in a defensive stance, searching for nearby energies.
Nothing, and then he saw a shadow to the right, Gohan shivered in fright! That was not a cool sight, but again, he could not get scared. Gohan chased the shadow, down the basement of Capsule Corp, and into what seemed to be a secret room.
As Gohan walked carefully, he felt something behind him...and boy when it spoke, Gohan freaked! Instinctively, Jumping forward, flipping around, and hurling a fist as he launched back forward. However he stopped...that face it was familiar.
"C-Careful!" It sounded old and weak, but oh so familiar. "Gohan, don't you remember me?"
Gohan couldn't tell who or what this was at first, but when he looked into its eyes. This...robot? He assumed it to be, he knew who it was. Bulma. Once she moved into what light there was, Bulma's remaining human features had shown itself, the same skin complexion on what was left of her human body.
More than half of her face remained, but a quarter of the left side was gone, mechanical now, and both of her arms were still there, as well her shoulders and neck. However, her left hand, and her lower body was all mechanical.
"B-Bulma?!" Gohan gasped. Gohan took a step back, he couldn't believe it, this..this doesn't make sense! At all! He shook his head, and took the step forward. "What's going on?" Gohan's voice had become child-like once more, confused, lost, and scared.
"..I..don't even know anymore." Bulma replied. "But...seeing you here...I don't know if I'm going crazy...or if you're actually here."
"What? Why wouldn't I be here!" Gohan said, his jaw dropped. "We were still training for the Saiyans! We haven't even-."
"The Saiyans...their arrival…" Bulma spoke. "That's when it all started...when it all...fell apart."
Back outside the Simulation or the Real Mount Paozu? Or The Present? Whatever it is…
"This is really weird." Bulma said. "I'm gonna need some time for analysis." She looked puzzled as she swiped through the spherical tablet. Checking all sorts of things, and readings.
"What do you mean?" Goku asked, tilting his head slightly.
"Well..I'm not really sure honestly, but...It shows some kind of...temporal anomaly?" Bulma answered. Goku and Raditz both looked confused. "I'm not sure how to explain it, but when a Simulator is generated, it's sort of based around your surroundings. Not just the scenarios we've inputted."
She continued to swipe through it, scratching her head with her index finger. "But for some reason… When Gohan's last simulation ended, instead of stopping there, I dunno what went wrong exactly, but something caused it to malfunction." She continued. "And after it malfunctioned, it sort of had a temporal displacement in it?"
Still the two looked confused. "In English." Raditz said.
"Basically.. In a nutshell, After Gohan's simulation was complete, it malfunctioned and kind of caused Gohan to be sent through time?" Bulma replied. "If that makes any sense."
"So he time travelled?" Goku asked.
Bulma shook her head. "Not exactly. The machine simulated a time travel experience, something like that. I'm not entirely sure. I'll have to bring some stuff from the lab, and maybe a few of my helpers." She answered. "Gohan seems to be fine right now, his vitals are good, so we have some time to fix this."
"How are we going to tell Chichi?" Goku wondered.
"How about we don't!" Raditz replied, facing Goku.
"She's gonna find out sooner or later, either we tell her...or…" Goku paused for a second. "She finds out, and she screams like a banshee."
Raditz sighed. "Okay. We'll ease her into it. But let's not be hasty, for all she knows, we're still training the runt." Goku nodded in agreement, he understood the reason Chichi would freak out, it was acceptable, but that's not what they needed right now.
He had to make sure to tell her at the right time, at the right place. Besides, for all they could know this was nothing to worry about.
Gohan bit his lips, frowning, and looking down. The two sat on a cold stone bench inside this secret room. "My...Mom...She's really dead?" He looked up to Bulma, who nodded. "And...I'm…"
"Long gone. Or sort of you.. You were taken by those...awful Saiyans." Bulma replied, biting down on her words. She hated to just even think about them. The thought, it hurt, she looked away, it was painful, the memories, then she looked back. "You were gone for so long, and then when you came back, you weren't...you. Those Saiyans did something to you, made you evil, feral. And…" Bulma's voice broke, she couldn't anymore, it was too much.
"That's how all this happened, didn't it?" Gohan asked. Bulma nodded. "Wait. What about Uncle Raditz! Or Mister Krillin! Or any of the others!"
"Most of them are gone. All killed by the Saiyans...well except for Raditz. He's still alive." Bulma said. "The Saiyans took him. Vegeta tortures him, uses him for his entertainment, and he does the same to me...er sort of. He tortured us in uh...two different ways."
"How come he isn't fighting back?! Ra…" Gohan paused. Honestly, he knew his Uncle, but not that well. His Uncle was always mysterious, but for the time he's been here, despite his doubtful rants, he always seemed to do the opposite of. "Uncle Raditz must be fighting back right?"
Bulma shook her head once more. "No. Not after what they did to you, what they did to your Father. They tried, tried for so long, but eventually, gave up. Their will was gone. Vegeta stripped them of any fight a long time ago."
"Is that...what my Dad meant when he said he'd fix it?" Gohan asked. Bulma looked confused. "When I woke up, and saw him, he kept mumbling about fixing it and it'll all be fixed."
"Yeah...I don't know really. He thought maybe if he'd rebuild his home, everything will be fixed, everything would go back...to before." Bulma gulped. "Nobody could reach him anymore, he only responds to fixed words, every other word is like an empty echo to him. He's tried rebuilding it but Vegeta comes and destroys what he's fixed, only for it to repeat."
"What?! That's...That's mean! And Cruel!" Gohan growled.
"It is. And he won't do anything about it. Goku just gets back up and continues." Bulma said. Then clenching her fist. "And that jerk! Vegeta! He just laughs it off! Uses him for his own personal amusement!"
Gohan growled angrily. "Where is that jerk! I'll...I'll kick his butt! And I'll fix it all." Gohan seethed with rage.
Bulma frowned. "I wish it were that simple, but Gohan." She faced Gohan directly. "You'd never even be able to lay a finger on him."
"But I'd have to try! There's gotta be something I can do! Please!" Gohan begged.
Bulma sighed. "I dunno...maybe...Maybe if you could find your Uncle, and free him? It might be possible, but I doubt your Uncle would even bother fighting." She suggested, shrugging. "The only one left who still fights… is Tienshinhan. And nobody knows where he is."
Gohan lowered his gaze to the floor. "Then...Then we'll find Mister Tien! We'll find him! And rescue my Uncle! And We'll stop them!" Gohan said, he looked back at Bulma. "I have to...I can't watch my Dad be like that!"
"We don't even know if Tien is still alive. And even if he is...I don't know if he's in the condition for fighting." Bulma pointed out. She paused for a second, looking into Gohan's eyes. "But...At this point...just seeing you here...Goku's son, before the whole...thing...maybe...Maybe that's a sign. So I guess we have to try."
Gohan smiled. "Thanks Bulma."
"Yeah but first things first, we need to figure out how you got here." Bulma said. "Incase something goes wrong, we'll have to try and send you back. Maybe you could at least..prevent this…"
Gohan frowned, not that having a plan b was a bad idea, he really didn't want to have to end up leaving them behind. However, it was probably for the best, Gohan sighed, nodding in agreement.
A couple hours later…
"Okay, I've gotten a few things, you'll need to show me exactly where you were when you arrived here." Bulma said. In her hand was a remote with some kind of antenna, and in another was a notebook. "We'll need to be quick though, I can't leave the lab too long, if I do Vegeta can find me thanks to my Cybernetics."
Gohan nodded. "Right. It was at my house in Mount Paozu."
After flying back to his home, where Goku was still stuck in his same trance, Gohan showed Bulma exactly where he woke up. Bulma swiped and pressed a few things on her notebook, and then the remote started beeping. In the sphere monitor of the remote, it showed strange purple and pink waves.
Bulma looked shocked. "Wait...This...This looks like a temporal displacement!" She said. "I think I know what might've happened."
"You do?!" Gohan asked, his face lit up.
Bulma nodded. "Okay. You said you were in the Simulator before this happened right?" She asked. Gohan nodded in response. "I don't ever remember this happening, but I guess the past you come from, it did, well I mean duh, but anyways… I think what happened, when the simulation was complete, instead of it restarting, it malfunctioned causing the flux core to flow improperly."
Bulma swiped through her notebook a few more times. "The flux core keeps the flow of everything in the Simulator I created to work properly, and manages when certain things should do their tasks and at what rate. To make an environment feel real, the snow feel real, it needs to actually have some way of simulating it, and it can't do it out of thin air." She explained.
Bulma took a few more paces around before continuing, seeing if an angle could get her any more accurate reading. "And I think, because somehow, I'm not sure, but somehow I managed to create a...well kind of like some sort of time travelling method but without a machine. Like I ripped a rift in the time-space continuum?"
Gohan scratched his head. "Uh….What?"
"In a nutshell, you were sent to an alternate reality." Bulma replied.
"Oh…then..that means?" Gohan said, his face lit up further. "I can still save everyone!" Then his lit face turned into a frown. "But...I can't leave you guys."
Bulma got to his level. "Gohan. There's no hope for this world anymore. I...I wish you could save us, but you're not strong enough. Not yet." She replied. "The power Vegeta possesses now in comparison to nearly twenty years ago is vastly different."
Gohan's eyes went wide. "T-Twenty Years?!" He said.
Bulma nodded. "Please, you'd be doing us a better favor if you went back to your place." She replied. "If you fight Vegeta now...or anyone else, you'd be losing your one chance to return home. Maybe someday you could come back, stronger, but...not now."
Gohan frowned, going home excited him, he'd already been here for a while, and something about was just so unreal to him, but to leave Bulma behind like this? What if something really bad happened. So what if it was an alternate reality, he couldn't just...leave it like this. He had to change something. Do something!
Then again, where would he know where to start? Where to begin. He'd at least have to find Tien before he left, that he had to do, so at least someone could begin fighting, and that's exactly what he would do.
"I can't bring you home right away. So we should hurry back to my lab before we get caught." Bulma said. "Vegeta has men all over the place, usually keeps Mount Paozu on a low check though cause he likes doing it himself." Bulma's eyes went wide as she realized something. "Wait a second! This is the time Vegeta…"
She stopped, turned to Gohan. "We have to go. Now!"
Gohan nodded, picked her up, and flew as fast as he could, once they were far enough from Mount Paozu, Gohan masked his energy.
"You shouldn't have to mask your energy too much. Vegeta's never been one for energy detection, at least not without that scouter of his." Bulma pointed out. "Plus he usually ignores small levels."
Gohan nodded in response, then he suddenly stopped. He felt something, something intense, and instinctively hid behind a large boulder.
"What're we-." Bulma opened her mouth, but Gohan lifted a finger towards her.
"Shh!" Gohan interrupted. "I hear something…"
The two peaked over the Boulder, there stood a man with tall black hair, a Saiyan battle-armor with a cape attached, a blue jumpsuit, white gloves & boots, with him was a bald tall man, wearing a tattered green gi, and black boots. The bald man looked a bit old, but not grandpa old.
Bulma widened her eyes. "Th...That's Tienshinhan and Vegeta!" She whispered.
"Wait, who's who?" Gohan asked, tilting his head.
"Right. You haven't met Tien yet." Bulma said. "Tien's bald and Vegeta is the one with the tall black hair." She pointed to both of them.
The two watched and listened from behind.
"Listen, if you think getting Kakarot to help you is going to beat me you're infinitely wrong." Vegeta spoke. "That fool hasn't even tried for years, he lost his fight a long time ago."
Tien stayed in a defensive stance, glaring at Vegeta. "Yeah well, it doesn't look like I have much of a choice." He snarled. "I'll have to try something, I'll get him, him and his brother, and we will stop you!"
Vegeta laughed. "Your attempts at heroic and stoicness amuse me. If you legitly believe that he can help, you're mistaken." He said. "Believe me, you have no idea how boring its been without that fool. I hate to admit it, but he gave me something to do. Sitting around all day in the palace listening to my brat is annoying."
Tien scoffed. "You shouldn't have gone and broke him like that then. You could've joined us, I'm sure Goku would've been plenty fine to have gone and battled often with you." He replied. "Instead you invaded our planet and took everything away from us."
Vegeta smirked. "Of course, if I hadn't, it'd be so un-Saiyan of me." Vegeta chuckled in response to Tien's low growl. "I mean you don't see me leaving Frieza alive just so I could have a battle do you?"
Tien averted his gaze, the thought of Frieza made him shudder. "That...That was different." He said. "Frieza was a threat to everyone, and you know it. Killing him...was better off for anyone."
"Can't argue there. I just wish his Father was a little more like Frieza." Vegeta paused for a second, thinking gloriously about it. He'd always thought Frieza's father would be far worse, but as it turned out Frieza's Father was too relaxed, and it cost him his life. Wonderful that day was, as for Frieza's brother? Well he didn't care. Frieza's brother stuck to his side of the galaxy and let Vegeta do what he wanted with the rest.
"Anyhow, I have more important matters." Vegeta said. "If you wish to see Kakarot, you may follow, I'm in no mood to play with you today. And personally, it'd be more amusing seeing you try to break him free of his...trance."
Tien glared, but took the opportunity, fighting Vegeta would have not been good right now. Meanwhile, Gohan and Bulma snuck away afterwards, returning to the secret lab.
"How come we didn't follow Tien? We could've waited to see if Vegeta would've left." Gohan asked.
"Not safe, again, I can't stay out too long." Bulma said. "I'm lucky Vegeta didn't have his scouter on him, he would've definitely known."
Gohan frowned, sitting down. "Alright." He replied. "Then what're we doing now?"
"I'm gonna analyze these readings further." Bulma answered. "Stay here for a while, it's not safe out there right now."
"What about Mister Tien!" Gohan asked, getting up from his seat.
"Tien can handle himself; we'd lose our only opportunity if we tried to help him." Bulma answered. She typed several things on an old dusty computer. "We'd be doing more help this way. I'll have to send you out eventually for some things I'll need but other than that you're gonna have to wait."
Gohan sighed and frowned, sitting back down, then laying on it. Waiting as time passed, finally, Bulma was done, getting up from her computer, a long yellow piece of paper came out with things only Bulma could understand.
"Okay. I think I've gotten it, but as I suspected, I don't have all the required stuff to send you back." Bulma said.
Gohan stood up quickly, excitedly. "Okay! What do you need?"
"Something very dangerous." Bulma explained. "The chemical compound, and blueprints, I need are in a lab, over by Vegeta's palace."
Gohan lifted an eyebrow. "Why does he have a lab?"
"It's not for him. He has scientists that work endlessly so Vegeta can have improved ways to train." Bulma answered. "Including a version of the simulation device that I designed. I need you to go to their lab, and retrieve these items." Bulma handed Gohan several pictures, each one having a label on the back.
Most of it were special looking tubs and jars, a few were containers of liquid, with a strange symbol labelled on it, and the one that stood out the most was a rotund black ball, on the back of that picture, it said "Flux Core".
"I'll give you directions on exactly where to go and hide. It's super dangerous, if you get caught that'll be the end of it." Bulma said. "You should also find Tienshinhan first, if he can help you, then maybe...Maybe we can send you back."
Gohan nodded in response, leaving immediately after. Thanks to earlier, he had an idea of Tien's energy signature, so all he had to do was follow that familiar signature, hoping he could find the former Crane student.
However, the adventure was...difficult. Other than the fact that it was hard to track his energy, there were groups of 4 or 5 soldiers, some were guarding areas near certain cities, some were roaming Mountaintops or Forests, and some were merely flying somewhere.
They were about as strong as his father or Uncle, some stronger. After a while, Gohan felt something, it was heavily familiar, and it had to have been Tienshinhan. Gohan followed it, continued to follow it, it got stronger, and stronger. Gohan soon found himself near a small hut in a thick forest, as he approached, an intense and swift blast shot itself to Gohan.
Gohan scarcely avoided the attack, looking at it with a bit of fright, he turned to find the attacker, revealing to be Tien.
"Who's there!" Tien shouted.
Gohan floated down, with his hands raised. "I-It's me, Mister Tien! G-Gohan!"
Tien's eyes went wide, he averted his gaze shaking his head. "I must be going crazy! That's impossible!" He turned away from what he thought was a hallucination.
Gohan got closer. "No! Really! It's me!" He said.
Tien looked again, staring with much disbelief. "No that's...How?!" Tien couldn't believe it. It..it was Goku's son, the ki signature felt too real to be an illusion, yet it couldn't have been him! This...This Gohan is too young! And his energy signature was too innocent. "This ain't right! There's no way you're here!"
"I am!" Gohan replied. "I need your help."
Tien looked back, and sighed. He sat down, and rubbed his forehead. "I..I need a moment to think."
"I can't believe this!" Bulma shouted. She was sitting at a desk, with her computer on it, brought by Goku and Raditz from Capsule Corp, along with several other things. The two shot up immediately from her shout.
"What?! What is it!" Goku asked.
"Okay. So you know how I thought it only simulated a time travel scenario?" Bulma asked. Goku nodded, Raditz gave a suspicious look. "Well, actually, It didn't simulate it." Both of the Fighters looked really confused. "It did send Gohan in time! Somehow this...rift, it created, opened on this side, but not the other side. So when he was sent, there was no way back."
"Then how do we get the brat back?" Raditz asked.
Bulma looked unsure. "Uhm...That's actually a good question." Bulma answered. She looked back at her analysis, then took a deep breath. "Okay, It's risky, but I'm gonna have to send one of you in. You'll have to retrieve Gohan, but I need some time first. I need a way to have some kind of cable to attach to you, so I can keep the rift open on both sides."
"Well that doesn't sound too hard!" Goku said, smiling.
"Easier said than done Goku." Bulma replied. "I don't even know how this happened in the first place, I'm still lost on the whole thing."
Raditz snickered. "Man you really messed up!" He said.
Bulma glared at him, but turned back to her computer. "If I can figure out how to have the rift open on both sides, then I should be able to tie you to a Cable and send you guys back."
"A cable? That doesn't sound like we'll have a lot of distance to go through." Raditz pointed out.
"No. It's not exactly physical like that. I had a theory that I could kind of tie you to the rift, in a non-physical kind of sense, if that makes any sense." Bulma explained.
Goku blinked twice in confusion and Raditz looked flabbergasted. "No. It doesn't make sense at all." Raditz said.
"It'd be easier to show than explain it well. Not that any of this would be easier to explain." Bulma sighed.
Goku placed a hand on Bulma's back. "Aw don't worry, Bulma! You'll figure it out." He smiled.
The Simulation, or rather where the entire dome was, was now a red electrical looking dome, with often colors of purple or blue sparking around. Being near it, gave a presence, one that would typically shone others, including animals away.
Tien placed his head on his hand. "To make sure I got this right. You're from a different timeline?" Gohan nodded in response. "And you need things from Vegeta's Lab?" Gohan nodded again. Tien took a deep breath, regained his composure and stood up. "This is not going to be fun."
"Alright. If I'm going to help you, invade Vegeta's palace and get out safely, then we're going to do a little training first." Tien replied. "You'll need to know exactly when and when not to hide your energy, and I mean exactly. Getting from Vegeta's guards is one thing, but going directly into his own palace? That's a different thing."
"Well, we gotta try!" Gohan said with much determination.
"Then as of Today, you're now in Tienshinhan's Three Day Fast Course!" Tien announced.
Gohan smiled. "Thanks Tien!" He replied.
Tien placed his two hands behind his back, and stood straight. "Before we even begin to do any planning, the first thing we'll be training is your ki control." Tien walked up to Gohan, wrapping a blindfold around him. "By blinding yourself, you'll be more likely to rely on your senses rather than your eyes. This blindfold is also special, it blocks your eyesight, and makes it harder than usual to sense."
"So I have to try and sense it?" Gohan asked, with a bit of confusion.
Tien nodded. "Yes. I'm sure you have a bit of knowledge on how to do Ki Sensing, correct?"
"Yup. My Uncle and Dad have been teaching me." Gohan replied joyfully.
"Good. One more thing." Tien took a few steps back, swiped his hand, and suddenly a white energy dome appeared around them. "This dome I've created will make it much harder for anyone outside or inside the dome to sense us."
"I have a question." Gohan said.
Tien raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"If Mister Vegeta has spent all this time on Earth. How come he can't sense energy like us?"
Tien shrugged. "Honestly, I think he can do it, he's just not good at it. I don't think he cares too much because he prefers us to sneak up on him in hopes of a challenge." Tien's voice became low, and angry. "Must be because it's all a game to him."
"I guess that explains him not sensing me and Bulma earlier." Gohan said.
"Yea. Makes sense." Tien replied. "Anyways, Let's get started."
Gohan nodded in response. A moment later, Gohan stood in the center of the dome, alert, but not defensive, he focused hard on his surroundings, searching, waiting for Tien. Behind him! Gohan threw his leg, but had only hit the air.
In front! Gohan flipped up and swung his leg, slamming it on the ground, missing again. To the right! Gohan put his two hands in front of him to block an attack he'd thought was coming, but it never did, then on the left, a fist struck him before he could react, he was knocked several feet across the ground.
Gohan got back up, tried again, was knocked down again.
"Repeat!" Tien shouted. Gohan did repeat, he got back up, and was knocked back down again. "Repeat!" Again, and again. "Relax your muscles, you're too tense!"
This repeated for the next two and a half days, Gohan would wake up, only having time to eat and drink, then train. He wasn't even allowed to take the blindfold off, even when resting, at all times it had to have stayed on.
Finally, he managed to get down right, he improved quickly and greatly. Standing in the center once more, Gohan relaxed his muscles, waiting, feeling an energy behind him, he fired a simple energy blast at it.
The energy signature disappeared, and another reappeared to the right, Gohan shot a blast at there. Then another reappeared to the left, then at 3 o'clock, 8 o'clock, and 12 o'clock, each once disappeared after Gohan's quick shot energy blasts.
Suddenly an energy appeared in front of Gohan, he could feel it charging after him, feel Tien's fist coming close, Gohan pushed Tien's fist away, and launched his other fist against Tien's chin, causing Tien to stumble back, then rushing forward Gohan unleashed a flurry of punches.
Tien dodged, most but a few direct hits landed. When Gohan went for another attack, his blindflod came off of him, confusing him, Gohan blinked twice, stopped.
"Why'd you do that?" He asked.
"You're done. Training is over." Tien answered. "And whether or not you're ready, we're out of time." Gohan frowned, assuming that meant he wasn't. Tien walked up to the boy, placing his hand on Gohan's shoulder. "You did good." Tien gave a smile.
"Yes!" Gohan cheered.
"Now. We need to go over our plan." Tien said. Gohan nodded in response and followed Tien to his hut. Inside, on a desk, Tien pulled out a map. "This is a map of Vegeta's palace, blueprints."
"How'd you get those?" Gohan tilted his head.
"Bulma had them, she was the one who designed the Palace in the first place." Tien explained. "Although it's a bit outdated, this should be good. It's structural and security system should be really easy to outsmart, I've been in there a few times before for failed rescue missions."
"So what are we doing first?" Gohan asked.
"Rescuing your Uncle." Tien answered. "If we can rescue him, our chances of success can increase, it'll be riskier, but I think at the same time safer."
Tien pointed on the map to the gates. "The gates are going to be the only REAL difficult part of it, Vegeta doesn't really care for security inside the palace, if the outside is well guarded there should be no reason for the inside to be guarded, at least that's what Vegeta believes. It gives us an advantage."
"How do we get past the gate?"
Tien pulled out some cloaks or? Plastic Raincoats? "With these." Tien said.
Gohan gave a confused look. "What're those?!" Gohan asked.
"Something I had Bulma whip up." Tien answered. "They're not the best, but they'll do. They're invisibility cloaks, they'll make our physical appearance blend in with the surroundings, but we have to be careful. They could still find us through thermal readings or energy detection, we'll have to do that on our own."
Tien traced his hand through the gate, and what seemed to be the entrance of the Palace. "Once we get through the gate, we'll have to be quick through the courtyard, it's not very big, but it has sensors, and if we're more than a full seconds, the alarms will go off." Then Tien pointed on the inside. "Luckily, the inside has little to no security, usually he leaves it off, cause he prefers to guard it himself. By that point the cloaks' invisibility will wear off, it only lasts about 30 seconds."
"So 30 seconds from the gate to inside the Palace?" Gohan asked.
Tien nodded. "Yes. Be Careful though, we wanna try and stay stealthy." Tien answered. "Vegeta also has a daughter, and she's serious trouble." Tien pointed to a large room of the Palace. "We'll have to take a detour, cause we don't wanna be near this room. Unlike her Father, She can actually sense energies pretty decently. As long as we keep our energies masked, we should be good."
"Okay and where exactly is my Uncle?"
Tien took his finger, and slid it on the map, showing Gohan exactly what route they'd be going, from past the kitchen, down the stairs, to the left, and there was a room designed to have soundproof cold stone walls.
"Right here." Tien replied. "This is Vegeta's prison, or dungeon, which ever you prefer to call it, it's basically a torture room. After we rescue him, we must immediately go back up the stairs, and instead of turning left, we'll turn right. There'll be another downstairs which leads to the laboratory."
"Are there guards there too?" Gohan asked.
"No." Tien said. "The lab has a full security system in it's hall behind the entrance. We'll have to disable it." Tien then pointed to another room. "This is Vegeta's room. This will be super dangerous, but we'll have the remote that disables the security measures. Unlike the rest of the palace, this is actually guarded along with heavy security measures."
"How do we get past it?" Gohan asked.
"We get past it quickly. The guards change shifts at every zero of every other hour. That gives us 1 minute to get in and out of Vegeta's room." Tien answered. Tracing from the halls to Vegeta's room doorway, Tien placed his finger particularly on the first step in the room. "There are infer-red beams everywhere, I have something from Bulma to disable it."
Tien pulled something out of his pocket, they were black little earbuds. "These are communicators, Bulma made for us." Tien put his hand out so Gohan could grab one, which he did. "Put it in your right ear. No one but us should be able to hear each other, and Bulma already made it so that they wouldn't conflict with other frequencies."
Gohan placed the black earbud in his ear. "It's a bit uncomfortable." He said. "Okay, got it in. Now what?"
"Just tap it with your ear, the lightest tap should allow us to talk through it, and when you need to turn it off, just tap it again." Tien explained. "We'll meet back here tomorrow at the crack of dawn."
