hey guys im back sorry im so late with this. this chapter was a tough mistress but I finally came up with something ive added a little comedy but only the way I see naruto and sakura responding to each other since the last few chapters have been nothing but serious and commanding on narutos part and sakura not exactly in character so im going to try to give them more personality but still try have them serious in nature they will joke tease and on some levels compete with each other like most couples will do but in this case its more of a grisly way instead of sports and video games.

I would like to thank those who have been patent and waited on me while I was dealing with grief over my grand fathers death he was a great man and I hope to be as great as him.

chapter five the halls

All was quiet as the two stood in the main hall of the police station near the wreckage of the desk and the door they had walked out of. Naruto held his wife tightly as she cried he nudged her slightly.

"Sakura we need to go that thing might come back and I don't want to be here when it does" he said softly as he moved a lock of hair from her face when she moved to look at him. he looked at her tear stricken face those green eyes of hers shined like emeralds in his mind as he wiped the tears from her eyes. She lightly kissed him on the cheek.

"I'm sorry I'm so easy to move to tears Naruto I'm tired of death when will it end with people dying I know it's not ninja like to talk like this but,,.. a finger to her lips stopped her from talking.

"Sakura it's ok to cry I understand and because you cry doesn't mean your not a ninja. it means you care a great person told me, once you know your ninja way you become strong, I believe that it's because you care is what makes you strong Sakura because you will do anything to save a life" Naruto said as he held both of her shoulders.

She smiled lightly at his words to her, as her confidence came back "Naruto" she began "Thank you" she said as she looked at him, he gave her a cheesy smile back "What can I say, it's what I do" he said looking at her they heard a roar That echoed in the station as Naruto grabbed Sakura and looked around the main halls upper balcony.

"What in gods name was that" Naruto muttered as he watched the upper hall

"I don't know but what ever it was its upstairs it couldn't be that thing could it?" she asked Looking at Naruto as he looked nervously at the balcony.

"I don't think so Sakura it sounded different" he said he looked down toward Sakura "we need to go it sounded close" he said as Sakura reached near her medical pouch after shuffling a bit she sighed at finding what she was looking.

"Naruto take this it one of my solder pills it should be able to refill your reserves" Sakura said pulling her hand out of her medical pouch. Naruto who's color faded as a look of horror and disgust made it way on to Naruto's face telling Sakura all she needed to know.

"Hey they're not that bad at least I bothered to make some though most were at our house this was the only one I packed into my medical pouch" Sakura said her arms crossed.

"hey last time you made them I was in the hospital for a whole week. A whole week I tell you." Naruto complained, dramatically holding his fists in front of him. Causing Sakura to snort in contempt as her husband acted like a baby infront of her.

"Oh dont be a baby i said i was sorry and its not like you didnt get special treatment that no other patent gets from me," her tone sultry "though as it stands now we don't stand a chance of surviving as we stand but with this pill we should up our chances by half if you take it" Sakura stated in a matter of fact locking her eyes with Narutos as he looked at her he tryed to look away but to no avail before sighing. Give me the pill Sakura." He said in a defeated tone as Sakura smiled at her victory

"Hey don't worry once we get out of here I will be sure to reward you for being a good husband" Sakura said in a suggestive tone leaving little to the imagination causing Naruto to blush.

"Ok but you better not forget" he muttered as he swallowed the pill nearly gagging from the after taste, But feeling the on rush of power coming back to him. nodding to Sakura that the pill was working. Naruto took the lead with Sakura behind him to a double doorway taking both sides of the door they opened them quickly pulling out kunai as a zombie tried to attack them. Naruto quickly stabbed it in the shoulder while Sakura stabbed it in the head. The zombie fell to the ground dead never to get auto again and as quickly as the had eliminated one zombie two more had come out from behind a wooden wallboard that had reports of criminals and the like on it. Naruto ran and stabbed the first in the head while Sakura throws her kunai into the second zombies head, in a matter of second it was over the zombies dropped to the ground joining their other member in the afterlife.

"That was easy" Naruto commented after a moment passed sakura only huffed in disdain at Naruto's casual view on the situation.

"Yes it was I thought this room would have been filled with those things like the other room was," Sakura said Naruto smirked nonchalantly and hit his fist against his palm"If its this easy to fight these things then we can make it out of here easily" Naruto said laughing at what he had said.

Sakura only rolled her eyes as she shook her head at his antics and walked behind the wall to another door Naruto followed behind her as she opened the door the room behind the door was painted in all manners of blood and gore.

"What the hell" Naruto said with widened eyes at the rooms contents "Naruto let's be careful I that've a bad feeling with this room" Sakura whispered to naruto as a skinless creature quietly crawled down the wall behind the duo making no sound. it's long tongue slithered slowly behind Naruto wrapping around his neck catching Naruto by surprise.

"Gah what the hell!" as he grabbed at the appendage wrapped around his neck he tried to channel chakra to his hands but still couldn't get a grip on the appendage from the creatures saliva.

Naruto Sakura yelled hearing his cry as she springed into action throwing three kunai into the lickers shoulders it hissed in pain the knives stuck in its body but kept a firm grip around Narutos neck.

Naruto reached for his chakra blade to cut the tong that was wrapped around his neck off he unshaved it quickly and with a swift swing the appendage was separated from the creature. he grabbed it and threw it at the licker.

"You can have that back you freaking bastard" he yelled, the licker hissed blood oozed out of its mouth as it crawled to them its claws scraping against the tiles of the hall.

"Naruto are you ok" Sakura asked worrying over him as she threw more kunai at the licker a she saw the mark on his neck she would have to check that later after the got away from this monster.

"Yeah im fine Naruto" said grabbing five kunai and threw them at the licker hitting it in the head it let out an ear piercing screech as it writhed in agony till it lay dead on the floor the kunai sticking out of its body.

"Is it dead" Naruto asked as he warily watched the dead monster.

"How am I supposed to know I think so but better be sure" Sakura said a tick mark forming on her head from Naruto's question. "How about you go see I will keep watch" she suggested.

"Why me how come you cant that damn thing nearly strangled me to death." Naruto complained dramatically.

"Because it took a liking to you my baka" she teased she held in a chuckle as he stuck his lip out as he walked over to the licker he saw it was still breathing he brought out his chakra blade and added wind chakra into the blade extending its length to that of a sword and decapitated the monster. He retrieved the kunai from its body. and walked back to Sakura who was leaning against the wall.

"So how was your friend" she asked coyly laughing at the dismayed look he gave her. "Jokes aside we should probably get going before zombies or ... more of what ever that is comes." she said as naruto grumbled about unfair wives and why he is always the one to get attacked.

scene change

She duo walked through another doorway and into another hallway that leads to a stairway up to the second floor, and a hallway beside the stairs had shuffling and moans from a group of zombies that rounded the corner earning a groan of annoyance from Naruto.

"Cant these guys just quit" he complained looking at the undead mob

"Quit whining Naruto they annoy me just as much as they annoy you lets just get this over with" Sakura said grabbing her sword as Naruto pulled his chakra blade from its scabbard. Sakura dodged the first zombie and cut the head off of the one behind it while Naruto killed the one she dodged she leaned down and let Naruto kill a third that was about to grab her and stabbed another in the brain they saw one last zombie in the hall and both threw a kunai at its head then all was quite.

"your getting slow Sakura mine landed first" Naruto teased his mouth quirking into a smirk as she snorted in contempt at him claiming a victory when hers had landed first.

"I think your eyes need checked Naruto it was in fact mine who's had landed first and as they looked back hers indeed had blood trailing down more then Narutos had as Naruto blanched at his lose and hung his head in defeat.

"Come on Naru lets go" Sakura said in a singsong voice as she walked the stairs with a sway to her hips as he followed behind her. When they got to the next floor they saw a three statues across the hall the one in the middle held a red gem in its hand. While the other two faced away from it and had rounded indents into the base in the back that matched with the indents into the walls. They walked past a door that was boarded up and had a hole at the bottom of it, it was too small for ether of them to fit so they continued toward the statues as they got closer they inspected the gem it looked valuable.

"Naruto I think you should take that with you I don't know why but I have a feeling it might be useful later or maybe sold if im wrong" Kurama said Naruto nodded reaching for his chakra blade he cut the arm off of the statue much to the shock of Sakura who was about to scold him till she saw that he was grabbing the gem in its hand.

"Naruto why did you do that?" she asked the blond who after sealing the gem in a scroll turned to look at Sakura.

"Kurama said it might be important later and asked me to get it," he said back to she nodded in understanding.

"ok" she said walking to the door reaching for the knob before quickly stabbing her sword into the door. when she pulled it out of the door a thud was heard.

"wow nice one Sakura how did you know?" Naruto asked in shock.

there was a shadow in the bottom of the doorway it was ether one of those monsters or it was nothing she said opening the door and indead there was a zombie and a little girl and both of their eyes widened in shock and saw she was alive and unharmed.

oh you guys I know you hate me but I love to have you at the edge of you seats I hope this chapter was satisfactory on to more serious notes if they ever announce a pairing on the canon verse whether its narusaku or not I will finish the story regardless because im not following canon so till next time my demons
