Author's Note: I'm really glad you guys like this story so far. It's not easy to do, but I will do my best as it goes along. Anywho, here's a brand new chapter. Enjoy!

Chapter 4: BIG Trouble.
To say that things had only gotten worse was definitely an understatement. In fact, every single one of them, especially the now fourteen foot tall Chris who looked like he was about to panic, were all twice as shocked as they all had earlier this morning.
"Tails, Chuck, what's going on? How did Chris grow bigger like this in a matter of minutes?" Amy demanded worriedly.
"Somehow the computers and scanners reacted to Chris, but I'm not sure what." The two-tailed fox cub shrugged, even more clueless than before.
"The scanners shouldn't have caused this." Chuck murmured, not understanding how this is even possible either.
Chris in the meantime saw what happened and, seeing everybody from his new height, sweat dropped while Sonic, just as stunned as everyone else, was brave enough to get closer, stopping just before his now much taller friend, also seeing the mess he caused with the garage, carefully stepped out without causing anymore damage or stepping on anyone despite that he still was only a half-giant.
"Chris, are you okay?" Sonic called up.
"Apart from the fact that I'm bigger, I think so. But wow, you guys look even smaller from up here." Chris replied, scratching the back of his head.
"Ha. I'll bet." The blue hedgehog chuckled awkwardly, as his really tall human friend slowly bends on his knees to get a closer look at the teenager who sighed. "Chris, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault."
While Chris didn't like being a giant as it made him feel, well, really awful, he felt worse that his Mobian friend was blaming himself for the mess that Eggman caused. So he carefully held out a hand to him and while everybody else looked a bit alarmed, they calmed down as he used a giant finger to pat Sonic on the left arm, making the young hero gaze at him in surprise.
"Come on, Sonic. I made that choice to try and save you yesterday, remember?" Chris reassured.
"Yeah, but if you and Amy hadn't been there with me, you wouldn't be in this situation." Sonic pointed out, feeling a little nervous with his friend's hand which was now about his size and made him feel like a stuffed toy, but he knew that his friend wouldn't hurt him. "Now instead of trying to figure out how to fix you, it's just gotten even worse."
"It wasn't your fault." The preteen responded. "Eggman's the one who did this and it's like you said, if Grandpa and Tails can't figure it out, we'll have to make him fix me."
Even though he still felt guilty over this situation, the blue hedgehog knew that his half-giant friend was right, so he nodded in agreement and determination. "Fair point. That guy's gone and done it this time!"
"Are you sure Eggman will be willing to help?" Chuck asked doubtfully.
Amy smirked with a glint in her eyes, "Threatening to have Chris play with him like a toy or maybe squash him slightly might persuade him in helping to solve the mystery."
"Especially when he is to blame for all of this." Ella giggled in agreement.
"A perfect punishment for that evil madman." Tanaka chuckled.
"I can just see Eggman's face if he sees Chris like this." Tails covered his mouth, trying hard not to laugh, which prompted laughter from the others, including both Sonic and the aforementioned half-giant boy, though the latter did seem a bit hesitant.
"That would be pretty funny." The twelve year old boy admitted, before gazing at Sonic and, seeing everyone like this, especially his blue hedgehog best friend, made him want to try something but didn't think he would be allowed to do so despite his current size. He didn't want to hurt him or anybody else, but the urge to just...simply hold the hero of Mobius like he would with an action figure was becoming too hard to resist.
"Eggman would be scared for the rest of his life!" Sonic laughed.
Everyone else nodded while chuckling, though Chris felt and looked hesitant, torn and uneasy, before asking nervously. "Um, hey, Sonic?"
"Hm?" The blue hedgehog murmured in confusion.
"I uh...well, um...Can I..." Chris began, scratching the back of his head. "Can I pick you up? Just for a little while or at least for a little bit?"
That made almost everyone else shocked when they heard this, with Chuck crying out his grandson's name with a hint of scolding. "Chris! You can't just hold Sonic like that! He's not a toy!"
"I know! I'm not gonna hurt him, I promise! I just wanna try it out and I can't help myself." The half-giant boy held up his hands in defense with a sweat drop.
While Sonic did see the point, even he felt hesitant but knew that his friend wouldn't hurt anybody or cause actual fear on purpose. Chris was nothing like those dumb movies, comic books or TV shows were most giants are evil man-eating killers. Still, the blue hedgehog couldn't help but feel like that turning into a giant was starting go into his friend's head.
"Well...Okay." He replied, earning shocked and bewildered looks and gasps from his friends and the adults.
"Sonic, are you sure?" Chris asked, shocked and surprised that his friend was really letting him do it.
"Yep. I trust ya'. Sure I'm a little nervous, but you're one of my best buddies. Besides, it'll be good practice if or when you hold Eggman." Sonic replied, winking. "Consider me being a test dummy."
"More like a test doll." Tails couldn't help but tease smugly, despite that his older brother was crazy over this idea, but he did see the logic in all of this.
"Sonic, this is a crazy idea!" Amy protested, half-annoyed, half-worried. "You can't let Chris hold you like a toy, you know! Even though he's our friend, I don't like this idea of you being held like that."
Sonic smirked smugly as he wisely told her. "Ah, but there's a difference here, Ames. Chris is a big boy, and not because of his current height, but he's smart to know which is a toy and which is not. If he was like say, a two year old toddler, that's when this would be a bad idea."
After thinking about it for a moment and gazing up at Chris who shrugged in agreement as he shuddered at the idea of mistaking his friends for toys as a two-year old, the pink hedgehog girl nodded in agreement. "Good point."
"Sonic, why do you always come up with risky and crazy ideas?" Chuck scolded even though there was a hint of humor and exasperation in his voice that he tried to hide.
"Maybe it's because I'm crazy in general." Sonic teased with a shrug.
"Well...if you say so." Chris shrugged nervously. "You sure about this?"
The blue hedgehog nodded. "Go ahead, buddy."
Still nervous as he never picked anyone much smaller than him before but was very eager and secretly pleased to have an opportunity that he simply couldn't hold back the urge, Chris lowered his left hand and picked up Sonic, who yelped slightly, like a small stuffed animal since the blue hedgehog was about the same size as his hand now, lifting him up to his face and held him in his grasp even though his fingers couldn't quite wrap around him completely, but enough to clasp him in a gentle but firm grip.
As he did, the half-giant boy couldn't help but be amazed as he held a small smile in awe. 'Wow...having Sonic in my hand like this is like he's a little doll that's very alive. This is...so cool!'
The twelve year old wasn't sure why, and he did feel terrible for enjoying this experience with his best friend, but to him, it felt so...so right, so perfect. Realizing what he was thinking, he quickly and mentally shook away those thoughts despite that he liked holding the bue hedgehog in his hand already.
"Whoa! Now I know how those small stuffed animals feel." Sonic remarked, feeling his heart beat almost as fast as his legs would whenever he went on his jogs. He feels a bit nervous, being lifted high and held in a firm grip despite that the skin of his friend's hand felt soft and warm, but he shifted a little to adjust in being held like a toy.
"It kind of feels like I'm holding one or an action figure." Chris admitted apologetically, standing up to his full height while the others watched on, but knew that he wouldn't hurt the teenage Mobian. "I'm not hurting you, am I?"
Sonic shook his head. "Nah, it's just kind of uncomfortable being held this way, but at same time I know that you wouldn't hurt me."
"Sorry, Sonic. I'm not used to holding you like this either." The half-giant boy rubbed the back of his head, and his friend just smiled. Then he had a bit of a cheeky idea and reached out to the 'small' Mobian in his grasp with his right hand, which made the teenager a bit wiry.
"Uh...Chris? What're you-Aiiee!" Sonic gave a bit of a squeak when Chris began gently tickling him on the chest, making the blue hedgehog squirm and laugh while trying to escape, but was trapped in the giant hand's firm grip that wouldn't let him go just yet. "H-hey! Cut it out! Y-You're tickling me! Ha ha ha ha ha!"
The fourteen foot tall boy couldn't help it, and went into a full attack of tickling his best friend, grinning while the others either giggled, or shook their heads with smiles over the immaturity over the two boys in the tickling game to which the great hero of Mobius was left helpless in the grasp of a half-giant boy.
"H-hey! Ha ha ha ha ha! C-Cut it-cut it out!" The blue hedgehog laughed, wriggling and squirming in his half-giant's hand that held him tightly.
"Tickle, tickle, tickle, Sonic the Hedgehog!" Chris taunted playfully.
"No, no! S-stop! I can't take it anymore! Let me go! AH HA HA HA!" Sonic laughed hysterically, playfully calling out to the others. "G-guys! Help m-me!"
"Ha ha ha! I've got you in my grasp, Sonic! You won't escape from me!" The twelve year old boy playfully declared, not wanting to let him go and continuing to tickle his friend who keep on trying to helplessly escape from the giant grasp and tickle attack.
The tickling fest then quickly came to a stop when both Sonic and Chris could hear a loud rumbling sound from the distance coming from Station Square, causing the boy to stop tickling the hedgehog in his hand and the two, with the blue hero finally having a chance to breathe again after the laughing and tickle torture, looked up to see something huge and metal coming from the distance towards the city. The half-giant boy, while a bit disappointed, or strangely half-very, that his fun time in holding the fifteen year old in his hand was over, loosened his grip on Sonic who freed himself from his friend's grasp and leaped onto the preteen's left shoulder for a better look since Chris' current height gave him a better advantage.
What they saw and everybody else could hear and finally noticed made them shocked, horrified and in Sonic's case, angered.
"It's Eggman!" Sonic grunted, narrowing his eyes. "What's that fathead up to this time?"
"That fortress looks huge, even at my current size." Chris remarked, worriedly before gazing at his friend on his shoulder. "What do we do, Sonic?"
"Leave this to me! I'll take care of him and with any luck, we can make that guy crash land onto the ground and I'll carry him back here so we can interrogate him into shrinking you back to normal." Sonic declared, gazing at his friend. "I'm not gonna risk in you or anybody else getting into danger again."
"Sonic...!"
"No! It's too dangerous! I almost lost you yesterday, I won't let that happen again!" The blue hedgehog argued, his voice leaving no room for an argument.
"Sonic's right, Chris. Even with you being this size, you're still too short for this and it's far too dangerous!" Chuck called up to his grandson, agreeing with the blue hedgehog as did everyone else, despite Amy's concern for her 'boyfriend's' safety as well.
Despite their protests and that he was still too short even though he did stand at 14 feet tall, Chris just couldn't help but fear that Sonic would only get himself hurt. As much as he didn't want to get any taller, the twelve year old half-giant kind of hoped that he would just to stop Eggman's flying fortress. He had to do something, with his new size. He wasn't going to let his blue hedgehog best friend get hurt or killed, not by a long shot.
"Sonic, that Fortress looks pretty tough!" Tails called from below. "It might have a super hard armor that could be way too powerful. We'll need help in getting to it!"
"Then we'll just use the X-Tornado to fly towards-" Sonic began, only to suddenly be grabbed by his half-giant friend's right hand and lifted off the left shoulder, causing the blue hedgehog to yelp. "Hey! Chris, what're you doing!? Let me go!"
Chris then gently put Sonic down, much to everyone's confusion as he then apologetically declared. "Sorry, everybody, but I can't let any of you get hurt. I'll try to be careful, but this time I'm going to stop Eggman."
"WHAT!?" Sonic, Tails, Amy, Chuck, Tanaka, and Ella exclaimed incredulously.
Not waiting around to talk anymore, the half-giant then hurried out, stepping over the Manor's gate, risking exposure to be seen by the public as he ran down the road towards Station Square. He passed by cars that were driving by and tried to ignore the terrified screams of the human citizens who saw him as a half-giant, and scrambled to get out of the way, passing by the power lines and poles which began to spark, along with the power-lines connected to houses and buildings.
"Christopher Thorndyke, you come back here!" Chuck shouted scoldingly and worriedly.
"Chris, don't go!" Sonic screamed out, reaching out for his human best friend. "No, wait! Come back!"
"Wait, look at the power lines!" Ella exclaimed, pointing up ahead, causing the dismayed Sonic and everybody else to look and saw, even from the distance from where they were, electricity began to spark both from the lines and, to their and even Chris's surprise while the boy began to notice, on the twelve year old boy himself and he began to glow blue all over again.
"Huh? What's going on?" Chris asked, looking at himself as electricity suddenly gravitated in midair towards his body and onto his skin and clothes. While wondering why he wasn't being electrocuted, he noticed something odd and found, to his shock, from his point of view, everything was getting smaller! "Hey, what-I'm...Getting bigger!"
Sonic and the others raced out of the gates which Mr. Tanaka opened for most of them as the blue hedgehog leaped over them and they all stopped to see that the human boy was growing again. Their eyes widened in disbelief as the twelve year old boy grew so tall that when the glowing finally faded, the sudden growths spurt stopped as well. He was now at the astonishingly 57 feet tall! He towered some of the buildings, but he still didn't quite reach the skyscrapers of the city.
"WHOA! I'M...GIGANTIC!? HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?" Chris asked himself, his voice now huge and echoing through out the city and area. Gazing at his hands and then his surroundings, he looked up to see Eggman's Egg Fortress at a decent height, narrowing his eyes with renewed determination. "WELL, MAYBE NOW I HAVE A CHANCE TO GET TO EGGMAN AND STOP HIM, AND THEN MAKE HIM TURN ME BACK TO NORMAL."
With that thought in mind, the now giant boy hurried to catch up to the vessel, while Sonic and the rest of the group stood there, bewildered.
"I don't believe it! Chris just grew to 57' feet tall!" Tails exclaimed, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. "This is impossible!"
"What's going on? Why did Chris glow like that and then suddenly grow again?" Amy asked, shocked.
"The same thing happened in the lab, but with all of the computers! It's like the electricity isn't hurting him, but it's helping him grow or something!" Sonic exclaimed, recalling that the similar thing happened beforehand too.
"Wait a minute...electricity from the computers, and now the power ines, Chris' body glowing in blue aura and electricity, resulting in the rapid growths spurt..." The eight year old fox murmured, before it finally clicked in his head and he pounded his fist into his palm. "That's it! Now it makes perfect sense!"
"What makes sense, Tails?" Amy asked, curiously.
Chuck, coming to the same realization, exclaimed. "Of course! It's Electromagnetic flux."
"Electro-magnet-what?" Sonic asked, rising an eyebrow as he and the pink hedgehog and even Ella looked all confused.
"Behind every electrical object, there's a flux…like an electromagnetic force field! It must have happened when Eggman's laser beam hit Chris yesterday!" The young cub explained.
"The result of Eggman's machine didn't vaporize Chris, but instead it's cause Chris' body to absorb the electrical energy which every electrical objects would react and continue to him grow." The human scientist added.
"So Eggman's laser somehow turned into a giant Growth Ray or something." The teenage blue hedgehog realized.
"All of these include every thing that's electrical, such as TVs and Neon Lights." Tails continued.
"I get it!" Sonic snapped his fingers, remembering last night's sleep over. "All of this started when we were watching TV last night."
"It must've happened while we were asleep. No wonder we didn't know what was going on." Amy realized, blinking as it was starting to make perfect sense.
Chuck then held a grim expression, making Ella ask. "What's wrong, Mr. Thorndyke?"
"I'm afraid we need to get to Dr. Eggman soon and make him reverse the effects." Chuck answered, before turning to Tails and asked. "Tails, does Eggman's machines usually run on high electricity?"
"Yeah, why?" Tails asked, before horrified realization dawned on him. "Wait, that means...!"
"If Master Chris reaches the Egg Fortress and being in the middle of the city which always run electricity even through day and mostly at night..." Mr. Tanaka trailed off, firmly.
This made the three young Mobians realize, even though the two hedgehogs knew little on science, what was going to happen given with so much electricity not only in Station Square, but also from Eggman's machines as well. They all shared the humans' concerns as Ella gave a horrified gasp as she covered her mouth.
"Chris will only get bigger sooner than we expect!" The housemaid exclaimed.
"Uh-oh..." Sonic, Tails and Amy all chorused, sharing horrified glances, knowing that they and everybody else were in big trouble.
Especially since the Government will being seeing this, no doubt!
"Tails. The X Tornado...Now! I'm going up ahead!" Sonic shouted, racing over to city, with Tails quickly flying to prepare the plane and follow him in the air.
"Hey, I'm coming too!" The twelve year old pink hedgehog exclaimed, racing to follow her friend in the plane and help her 'boyfriend'.
All the while, the humans could only stay behind and hope that everything will be alright.
'Chris, you had better not do anything foolish. Our only hope is for Sonic to stop Dr. Eggman and get him to return you to your normal size.' Chuck thought, more than worried about his grandson's safety, as well as the safety of everyone in the city.
In Station Square, people were going about their daily business until they noticed a huge large shadow cover them. But it wasn't the giant Chris-not yet at least, but rather the Egg Fortress as it was as big as the street. Everyone, both humans and visiting Mobians looked up before gasping, and then ran away in panic, screaming in fear.
"Oh ho ho ho ho ho! Just because Sonic had defeated me yesterday, doesn't mean he will this time!" Eggman declared in the cockpit, and grinned when he saw the air force and military tanks begin to approach. "You goverment fools think you can stop me? How about a load of this?"
He then commanded his four robots, "Launch the E-42 Torole Army!"
From the bottom of the ship, numerous E-42 Torole emerged and began to wreck buildings and while some where quickly destroyed by the combined power of the army in the air and on the ground, some of the vessels were already getting badly damaged that some were being forced to retreat quickly.
"Sir, Eggman's robots are becoming too much for us!" One of the soldiers reported in the tanks while his companion in the cockpit next to him began to shiver in fear.
"Wait! What's that!?" One of the pilots in the missile-planes suddenly screamed in fear, looking up ahead and from the side as the people, who felt the vibrations of the ground shaking with thunderous footsteps, looked up and everyone but Eggman saw, to their horror, was a giant twelve year old boy; Chris who was still heading towards the Egg Fortress while mindful of the people.
"AH! A giant monster!" A man on the ground screamed in fear.
"Run away!" Another man shouted, as women screamed loudly in terror.
Chris, while trying to reach the admittedly huge fortress, looked down and sweat dropped, realizing too late that he was terrorizing the people.
"W-WAIT, WAIT! I'M NOT GOING TO HURT YOU! I'M HERE TO STOP EGGMAN!" The 57 foot tall boy explained, freezing in his tracks. "EVERYBODY PLEASE GET TO SAFETY!"
He waited until everyone, not sure what to expect and instead just ran inside buildings to hide and take shelter, before trying to continue his task and broke into a slow run while careful not to step on any people still lingering around or vehicles, only for a small blue blur pierce and race much faster than him and towards the Egg Fortress, his eyes widening as he instantly recognized the line.
"AH! SONIC!" Chris cried out, realizing his best friend was still going to try and stop the Egg Fortress.
"A GIANT!" The soldiers all screamed in fear, but were focused on the other major problem and being forced to retreat and leave in fear, only for Sonic to bash straight through many of the Toroles, slicing through them cleaningly as they exploded, safely away from the people who gasped and cheered him on.
"Everybody get to safety! It's too dangerous out here!" Sonic instructed the citizens who, seeing the young hero here to save the way, did as they were told and hurried for shelter, while he turned to the giant Egg Fortress before racing up a building to try and reach it.
Chris, witnessing this before noticing another two Toroles about to attack five people, gasped before narrowing his eyes with determination.
"HEY! LEAVE THOSE PEOPLE ALONE!" The giant boy shouted, grabbing hold of it from behind and, struggling to keep his grip on one of the machines, then surprisingly grabbed hold of the bulldozer ball and as hard as he could, smashed it's head with it, before tossing it at the other robot who didn't get the chance to escape.
He then quickly picked up the five people, a man, a woman and three children, who all screamed in fear and hurried away just as the robots safely exploded away from the buildings and the people. Once he was certain that they were in a safe distance, he gently put the family of five down while the young children, younger than he was, began to cry.
"IS EVERYBODY OKAY?" The twelve year old asked. When they looked up to see that, to their surprise, he wasn't going to eat them as they had feared, and that he had saved them from the two large robots that looked like dwarfs compared to his current height. "IT'S OKAY, I WON'T HURT YOU. I'M HERE TO HELP SONIC TO STOP EGGMAN, WHO, LET'S JUST STAY, IS BEHIND MY OWN CRISIS RIGHT NOW."
"Uh...t-thank you, um..." The man stuttered, nervously as he had his wife and children stand behind them.
"MY NAME'S CHRIS THORNDYKE, AND YEAH, MY FRIENDS AND I ARE GONNA STOP EGGMAN WHO'S THE REASON WHY I'M A GIANT RIGHT NOW. IT'S ALL HIS FAULT." Chris explained.
"Well, I-I hope Dr. Eggman will be stopped and you, um, return to being a normal boy, Chris. Thank you for saving us." The woman muttered, with the children, now seeing that the giant wasn't a threat, peered around and thanked him.
"IT WAS NOTHING AND EGGMAN WILL BE STOPPED. I GOTTA GO AND HELP SONIC, SO YOU GUYS BETTER FIND SHELTER, OKAY?" The giant boy promised.
Once the family did so after saying goodbye, Chris decided, now that he was huge, that his size would help Sonic to save the city. With that thought in mind, he hurried to keep the robots busy and hoped to help his Mobian best friend quickly.
Eggman, still not seeing the giant Chris but did notice people were running away in complete panic, growled as he saw the fifteen year old Mobian. "Let's play, Sonic, for keeps!"
"You're not getting away this time, Eggman!" Sonic shouted, seeing as the Toroles began following him and then he had an idea. Smirking, the blue hedgehog, knowing that he can't reach the giant ship without flight, reached the top of the building before leaping off, taking out most of the machines with his Spin Dash and Homing Attack.
Then, as Eggman sent in E-43 Falcons that fired missiles which the blue hedgehog took out as many as possible as well, the cobalt teenager lands onto one of the falcons and rode his way up towards the Egg Fortress, all the while hoping that his giant friend wouldn't getting himself into too much danger.
'Chris, please be okay and leave the rest to me.' Sonic thought to himself.
The News Helicopter flew in safely from the distance of the scene with Scarlet Garcia reporting the incident, which was reported through out the Television Network, including the White House as the President and Jeromy were witnessing the whole thing, including both Eggman's attack which Sonic was attempting to stop, as well as the appearance and threat of a giant 57 foot tall boy who didn't seem to be hurting anyone, but was using his size to block away many left left Torole robots by actually punching them, and keeping them away from people.
"What!? Well, don't just sit there! Deal with this mess!" Jeromy shouted through the phone, growling as, while seeing Sonic fight, decided that now was his chance. "This is the perfect moment to stop Dr. Eggman and his robots and now the giant boy, which Sonic isn't stopping at all, and then we'll be the real heroes!"
"We need to question Dr. Eggman about this, since I'm certain Sonic's not the cause of what is going on." The President on the other hand, pointed out despite the threat of the giant boy who looked awfully familiar.
"I'm getting Sonic and those with him to be put into justice, whether it is Eggman's fault or not! We don't have much time, sir! Let us hurry and arrest all of them!" The President's Aid declared, secretly pleased that this would not only name Sonic the Hedgehog as the enemy despite being the hero, but also have the President win the Re-Election by the landslide.
The President tried to get him to wait, but it was already too late as his aid ran out of the office. He sighed, before turning back to the TV and while he had been skeptical of the cobalt teenager, even he knew that Sonic's heart was in the right place.
"Sonic...I hope you know what you're doing." The President muttered to himself.
Once the crisis was dealt with, there was some serious questions to be answered.
A/N: Uh-Oh! Not only Eggman's attacking again and Chris is getting bigger, but Sonic and his friends are about to get into trouble with the White House! Can Station Square be saved in time, and will the young Thorndyke go back to normal? Let's find out in the next chapter!
