Chapter 5: BIG Friendship.
Unaware of the dangers of Jerome Wise bringing the Army and the President to deal with Sonic once the threat of Eggman was taken care of, while the hero of Mobius was trying to reach the Egg Fortress, Chris in the meantime found himself surrounded by more E-43 Falcons which he tried to smack away without hurting anyone, and then froze in his tracks, and to make things worse, the Army came in surrounding the boy, leaving him cornered at a building.
"Giant boy! Stay where you are and don't move!" One of the soldiers commanded through a megaphone, though some of the soldiers were taking out the Falcons, but were quickly dealt with by Tails who, in the X Tornado, fired missiles at them while dodging most of the attacks and Amy was in the seat behind him.
"WAIT, I'M HERE TO HELP STOP EGGMAN! HE'S THE REASON WHY I'M A GIANT IN THE FIRST PLACE!" Chris protested pleadingly, only to scream when a couple of the falcons fired at him.
"Chris, look out!" Tails cried out, only to be forced to fly back as he and Amy screamed, then he fired back at the Falcons when the robots attempted to hit his plane.
Attempting to reach the Egg Fortress, Sonic saw what was going on and gasped in horror; his human best friend was still being attacked and explosions filled the air and covering the giant human. His heart stopped for a moment, his pupils shrinking in devastation.
"NO! CHRIIIIIISSSS!" The blue hedgehog screamed in dismay, tears leaking in his eyes, before he glared up at the flying ship and shouted, vowing vengeance for the loss of his friend. "EGGMAN! You're gonna pay for what you've done to my best friend!"
Eggman, unaware of the crisis of the giant human boy, only focused on Sonic. "That little blue brat!"
"You can easily blow up Sonic by causing the Falcons to self-destruct, doctor." Orbot suggested.
"Excellent idea." The evil scientist declared, grinning. He pushed a button and chuckled. "You're through, Sonic!"
"No, Chris!" Amy screamed in devastated dismay, tears leaking as she choked.
To their and even the army's surprise, as the smoke cleared while the Falcons, all of them, self-destructed, Chris stood there with his arms shielding his face before he realized that he didn't feel even a sting. Blinking in confusion, he looked at his hands in confusion.
"HUH? I'M OKAY?" Chris muttered, just as all of the sudden, the electricity from not just the buildings, but also from Eggman's Egg Fortress began to spark and then his body began to glow in blue aura once again. "WHAT? NOT AGAIN!"
Everyone stared in shock and horror before the army, realizing that even their weapons were useless, all sweat dropped and then fled in fear. The boy in the meantime grew taller and taller until finally he stopped at a good 115 feet tall!
"Chris has now grown to at least 115 feet! The flux is coming from the buildings and Eggman's Fortress!" Tails exclaimed in shock.
"He's almost as big as all of the buildings and taller than where the ship is." Amy realized, pointing up ahead.
Realizing that she was right, the young fox looked ahead and saw that Chris now had the perfect advantage of getting Eggman.
Chris, despite now being super tall, looked on in worry as he wondered how much taller he was going to get, before looking at the Egg Fortress again and saw Sonic being flown into the air and straight towards the giant ship.
"SONIC!" Chris screamed out, before running carefully to save his best friend.
At the same time and unaware of Chris' survival, the Falcon that Sonic was riding on and was about to jump off detonated, much to his horror, before it exploded and sent him flying towards the ship.
"AAAAAAAHHHH!" The hero of Mobius screamed and just as he reached just the bottom side of the ship, he managed to grip onto the side of it, even just a little. He held on with extreme difficulty. 'Please don't make me fall, please don't make me fall, please don't make me fall!'
But he couldn't hold on as Sonic then began slipping off the ship, his gloved fingers making horrible high-pitched scrapping sounds which not only had everyone down below to cover their ears, but Chris who even as a giant now covered his while grunting in pain, and inside the ship, Eggman and his robots all did the same.
"Wowza! That's a horrible sound!" Cubot wailed.
"Aaah! Sonic's a pain in the neck and ears!" Eggman exclaimed, crying out pleadingly. "Stop it, cut it out!"
Eventually Sonic came to a stop while he wished he could cover his ears as well, but was left dangling on the side of the ship, struggling to hold on, his heart hammering in his chest.
"I...can't hold on!" The blue hedgehog grunted. Just then, he heard a loud, gigantic stomping sound coming up behind him and was getting louder and closer.
Eggman and his robots, noticing that something was odd, as he did notice that people had been running around in strange behavior, faintly heard the stomping sounds as well. It wasn't until Orbot noticed something out of the window and gulped. "Uh, boss?"
"Now what?" Eggman grumbled, but when he saw what was coming up towards his ship, he and his robots let out a terrified yelp as they saw a giant twelve year old boy coming up towards them and it didn't take long for him to recognize the kid. "WHAT!? S-Sonic's whiny-brat friend!? How could he-how did this happen!? I demand to know!"
"W-W-w-w-we don't know, doctor!" Decoe stuttered in fear as he and Bocoe were panicking and hugging each other in fear.
"It seems that Chris has grown to a sudden height of 115 feet!" Bocoe exclaimed, scanning the monitors. "He appears to be absorbing the electromagnetic flux from the ship as well as the buildings!"
"It can't be! How did-!" The evil scientist cut himself off as he realized something; his laser that was supposed to kill Sonic, the one that Chris risked his life to save the hedgehog's, didn't do that at all yesterday. Instead...the result is this.
Suddenly suspicious, Eggman turned to Orbot and Cubot who froze, making gulping sounds as they both knew they were in big trouble now. "Orbot! Cubot! What have you two done!? You told me you fixed up the laser cannon!"
"S-sir, we can explain...!" Orbot began, fearing for the worst as he and his partner began to quiver in fear.
"This had better be a good explanation, or else you two will be going into the scrap yard!" Eggman warned.
Cubot, unable to handle it anymore, wailed. "Alright, alright! We did it! The laser cannon thingy was too broken, so me and Orbot replaced it with the Growth's Ray instead, thinking it wouldn't work either!"
"Unfortunately, it's true! It turns out your Growth Ray was unsuspectingly a huge success...No pun intended." His companion said in guilt.
"YOU WHAT!?" The mad doctor exclaimed in horror, while Bocoe and Decoe screamed in dismay.
"Uh...We blew up the kid..." The yellow-cubed robot said meekly.
Outside, Sonic couldn't hold on much longer and his fingers were about to slip off, when he heard a gigantic but familiar voice call out. "SONIC!"
Softly gasping at the sound of a very familiar voice he never thought he would hear again, Sonic looked behind him to see, to his shock and relief, a giant human boy he didn't think he would see again.
It was Chris!
"Chris!" Sonic exclaimed, tears filling up his eyes despite that he felt a little bit nervous and shocked that his friend was much taller now. "You're alive!"
But then his grip on the Egg Fortress began to slip even further and he cried out in alarm while trying to hold on as the population down below in the city saw what was happening through the windows and gasped in horror to see the hero of Mobius in potential danger of being captured by the giant.
"HERE, SONIC. I GOTCHA. DON'T BE SCARED." Chris said as softly as he could, using his right hand right to clasp his 'tiny' best friend like a tiny toy and pulled him away from the ship.
This allowed Sonic, now knowing that he won't have a splat landing, to breath a sigh of relief as Chris then brought him up close to his face. The blue hedgehog shifted a little when he realized that Chris wasn't loosening up his grip at the moment. He felt very nervous for being within the grasp of the giant hand, but at the same time, he never felt so safe. The giant human's skin felt so smooth, warm and soft.
"ARE YOU OKAY?" The giant boy asked, concerned.
"Yeah! Thanks for saving me from falling." The blue hedgehog replied with a warm smile. "I thought Eggman's robots hurt you!"
"I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO, BUT THEIR ATTACKS ONLY STUNG A LITTLE." Chris explained, gazing down at his tiny friend(from his point of view) in his giant hand, once again feeling giddy in having the blue hedgehog in his grasp, except this was...better than the first time. Like he didn't want to let go. He wanted to hold him, to keep him safe, forever.
'WOW...THIS FEELS MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE. IT'S JUST SO...SO RIGHT. I THINK I REALLY LIKE HAVING SONIC IN MY HANDS.' He thought to himself, smiling, unable to resist in gently petting the blue hedgehog on the head with his giant right extended finger.
"H-hey, cut that out!" Sonic laughed, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
"SORRY, SONIC. IT'S JUST, WELL, I THINK I'M STARTING TO LIKE BEING A GIANT, EVEN THOUGH I LIKE BEING NORMAL SIZED A LOT BETTER. I ALWAYS THOUGHT WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID...WELL, MAYBE AROUND FOUR OR FIVE YEARS OLD, AT LEAST." The twelve year old giant boy softly chuckled apologetically.
"Well, now you really know. Craziness aside and all." The fifteen year old chuckled back, feeling nervous to be up 105 feet up in the air and was this close to his friend's giant face.
Chris just shrugged with a smile, relieved that his friend was safe within his grip, beginning to really like the advantage of being this big and strong, having his best friend clasped in his hand to the point of almost not wanting to let him go and keep him in his grasp, to simply hold him like a tiny toy. The giant twelve year old unconsciously placed his left hand around his closed right hand, liking this feeling and also having the power to protect the blue hedgehog.
'THIS IS SO GOOD AND COOL. I WISH I CAN STAY LIKE THIS AND KEEP SONIC FOREVER...' The young giant thought, almost in a daze-like trance.
Sonic on the other hand, noticing the trance-like look, frowned a little and began to get scared. "Uh, Chris?"
"YEAH?" The giant boy asked, alarmingly still in trance-like and it was increasing the blue hedgehog's concern and fears.
The fifteen year old mentally gulped, while asking with a sheepish grin and a sweat drop. "Can you loosen up please? I'm startin' to get pins and needles in my legs, and we still have Eggman to worry about."
The twelve year old boy blinked as this seemed to do the trick as he remembered there was still the evil scientist to take care of, thinking to himself as he began to come out of the trance. 'WAIT, WHAT AM I THINKING? UH, OKAY, SO I DO LIKE BEING THIS BIG AND POWERFUL, BUT STILL...W-WELL, SONIC IS NICE AND SMALL AND SOFT AND...UGH, CHRIS, THIS IS A BAD IDEA! YOU CAN'T KEEP HIM LIKE THIS!'
Yet the feeling of just wanting to keep his best friend in his hand was an urge that was beginning to become difficult to resist and Chris looked sheepish yet reassured, almost losing himself again despite that Sonic did actually look more than just a little bit scared to the point that the blue hedgehog was tempted to try and pull himself free from the giant grip that held him trapped.
"Chris...? Hey, buddy? Please, let me go." Sonic shivered. "You're startin' to scare me here, big guy. This isn't fun anymore."
But Chris didn't seem to listen, and instead held the hero of Mobius firmly within his grasp and smiled softly, the sheepish and reassurance look fading away.
'THEN AGAIN...AS LONG AS I HAVE SONIC IN MY HAND, I CAN KEEP HIM AND EVERYBODY ELSE SAFE...' Chris's tranced thoughts slowly crept back up, but the sight of his best friend looking so scared made him feel guilty and torn, not realizing what was happening to him, but the desire to keep the hero of Mobius forever like this was hard to resist, that he actually said aloud. "DON'T WORRY, SONIC. I'LL KEEP YOU SAFE AND TAKE REALLY GOOD CARE OF YOU, FOREVER. YOU'RE MINE TO KEEP NOW...ALL MINE..."
That made everybody including Tails and Amy in the X Tornado, and Eggman and his robots within the Egg Fortress, all gasp in shock and horror to see and hear what the giant twelve year old boy had to say.
"Tails...Why is Chris acting this way?" Amy asked, horrified and fearing for both Chris' rapidly loss of sanity and Sonic's safety.
"This is bad!" Tails exclaimed, just as horrified as tears began to leak. "Not only the Electromagnetic flux is effecting Chris's growth, it's also effecting his mind that he's actually enjoying being a giant now and since he's really close to Sonic, he wants to make sure to keep him and everybody else safe. The only way to get him out of this trance is to turn him back to normal and...it doesn't look like he's willing to anytime soon now...!"
"SONIC!" The pink hedgehog screamed in dismay, realizing that her two-tailed fox friend may be right, which horrified her.
"Oh no...! I was afraid this would happen!" Eggman gulped, now even more terrified while his robots quivered like mad in fear.
"What's happening to that kid's mind, doctor?" Decoe asked, worriedly.
"In a hindsight of things, the Growth-Ray Cannon was meant for robot use only as it wouldn't mess with their command systems or A.I. But with humans, it's a major side effect of not only causing the electromagnetic flux to effect his growth by all kinds of electricity, it also effects the mind to losing all desire to return to normal. Which is why I refuse to use it on myself because not only it's inconvenient, but even I like to be normal sized and only have use of giant robots." The evil scientist explained, leaning back in his seat.
Seeing and realizing that his friend wasn't letting him go, now Sonic was really terrified and wondered if there was another side effect to Eggman's growth ray. The hero of Mobius, beginning to panic, actually did now tried in a futile attempt to free himself which horrified the people of Station Square and even Tails and Amy as they got closer, seeing what was happening. This was like something out of the horror movies.
"Okay, this isn't funny anymore! Chris, please! I'm really scared now!" Sonic screamed, wriggling and squirming to try and escape, but it was futile. He was scared beyond belief, his heart hammering hard within his chest. "Let me go! Let go of me! I don't wanna be held like this!"
'Oh man! I hope he isn't considering on eating me next! If I get out of this, Eggman is so gonna regret in turning my best friend into a trance-like evil giant!' The blue hedgehog thought, beginning to feel like he really lost his best friend. "Please, let me go! We still gotta turn you back! What happened to the Chris who's one of my best friends? The Chris who I sworn to protect? All of the fun times we had together with Tails, Amy and everybody else? Back when I can hold in my arms? Back when I could carry you during some of my runs? All of our adventures together? I want things back to the way they were!"
The trance-like trance in the giant boy's blue eyes began to flicker in and out as Chris began to mentally struggle with his sudden desires and his friendship with Sonic, but when he saw the teenage hero began to shed tears, the thought of actually losing him due to his strength and size in the teenager's mind, something began to break through that giant barrier that was created between them.
"It's all my fault...! I'm so sorry..." Sonic began to sob and cry, his salty tears sliding free and dropping onto the warm skin of his friend's massive fingers. "I want...I want my Chris back...! Please...please come back, Chris...Come back...!"
Seeing and hearing Sonic really cry as he realized that he only had frightened the hero of Mobius even further, plus making the young giant become a villain which was scary the moment he thought of it, Chris shook his head mentally to snap out of that daze, and then, at the blue hedgehog's words, he remembered all the fun times he had with hanging out with him and the others, all of their adventures around the world, all of the happy times like eating ice cream, going to new places, or just hanging out.
He even remembered when Chris himself had protected Sonic yesterday and how relieved the hero of Mobius was to see him alive and well.
Sonic, realizing that this was real, beamed with joy with his tears matching his current emotion. "Chris! You're okay! You're alive!"
The blue hedgehog wrapped his arms around the boy behind him, hugging him in a huge sense of relief and happiness. Startled at first, Chris laughed along with him happily as the two friends embraced.
Realizing his error and finally coming out of the trance, Chris began to tear up in sheer guilt for not only actually giving into the desire in wanting to keep Sonic like a toy or a pet and stay as a giant forever when he would miss out on future adventures in his normal size. Sniffling, he finally opened up his palm and allowed Sonic, who, feeling this and looked to see that he was finally being let loose, held on until he was in the middle of the enormous hand, to sit on it, feeling shock and relief wash over him before looking up and saw, to his own guilt which increased, that his friend was now crying himself.
"I-I'M SO SORRY, SONIC...I-I DIDN'T MEAN TO ACT LIKE THIS. I DON'T KNOW CAME OVER ME...I DIDN'T TO TREAT YOU LIKE A TOY OR A PET, WHEN YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND. MAYBE BEING A GIANT'S REALLY GOTTEN TO ME REALLY BAD...I'M SORRY...I'M REALLY, REALLY SORRY!" Chris sobbed, his gigantic tears raining down onto the road like big puddles.
"Oh, Chris...! No no, please, don't cry! It's gonna be okay!" Sonic exclaimed despite still being reduced to tears himself, standing up. "Here, bring up closer to your face, okay?"
Chris looked at him tearfully, now scared to lose himself again if he did so, but the warm, tearful smile from the Mobian Hedgehog made him feel warm and reassured.
"It's okay. I trust you." The cobalt teenager said softly.
Sniffling as everyone, still horrified by the sight, began to become sympathy when they saw the young giant and even the hero of Mobius both crying. Reluctantly, the twelve year old boy carefully brought Sonic to his face, where the teenager, ignoring the fact that the giant's face was soaking wet with tears, gently leaning against it in his attempt to hug his human best friend, rubbing it with his gloved hand.
"It's gonna okay, buddy. Oh, Chris...I'm really sorry. I wish I could turn back time and stopped all of this from happening." Sonic whispered, sniffling as his own tears were still sliding free and he didn't even bother to stop them, more focused on helping his giant friend.
"I ONLY WANTED TO KEEP YOU SAFE, SONIC, LIKE YOU ALWAYS DID FOR ME AND EVERYBODY ELSE...I'M REALLY SORRY FOR SCARING YOU." Chris almost hiccuped.
"Shhhhh...It's gonna be okay. You'll be back to normal soon. I promise." The blue hedgehog continued to soothe and comfort his tall friend while wishing to hold the boy in his arms.
Within the X Tornado, Tails and Amy, who were about to fly over and tell Chris to stop, saw what happened and backed off a bit, hearing the severe apologies from both the giant and Sonic, feeling tears slide down their faces even as the young fox pilot tried hard not to cry himself, while the pink hedgehog girl behind him was already reduced to tears. Everyone in the streets all began to cry themselves, while within the Egg Fortress, Eggman was speechless while his robot minions all looked ready to cry themselves, touched by the bonding moment between the two young heroes.
The blue hedgehog and the giant human boy continued to shed tears, the latter now wanting nothing more than to hug the former in his arms rather than hold him simply in his hand, gently rubbing Sonic's back with his free finger, until Sonic looked up while Chris moved him back a little to see him fully.
"Feeling a bit better now, pal?" The fifteen year old asked, wiping away his tears despite that he was soaked with Chris's massive tears as the boy wiped them away as well.
"YEAH. THANKS, SONIC." Chris replied, still feeling guilty for his actions in scaring his friend the way did.
"No problem. But man, you're...bigger!" Sonic continued with nod, unable to believe just how gigantic his human best friend had grown and hoped that they'll be able to fix him before the twelve year old ended up absorbing more of the electromagnetic flux that will end up making the boy even bigger.
"YEAH, I KIND OF NOTICED, GIVEN WHAT JUST HAPPENED. BUT AT LEAST I'M BIG ENOUGH NOW TO CATCH THAT FORTRESS." Chris nodded, and smirked as he gazed up at the Egg Fortress which floated just at his mouth's level, and Eggman and his minions shuddered in fear at just how close the boy was now, the touching moment coming to an end. "THE SOONER HE SHRINKS ME BACK TO NORMAL, THE BETTER."
"You're right. Now that you're here, whaddya say we give Eggman a scare of his life?" Sonic smirked back, chuckling. This was the good time to make Eggman pay for his crimes and for causing his giant friend to grow rapidly as well as temporarily lose his mind.
Chris liked that idea, and as he gently placed Sonic onto his left shoulder, the blue hedgehog held on while the giant boy then used both free giant hands to grab the huge ship out from the air, pulling it close to his face, where in the bridge, Eggman and his robots screamed in fear. They quivered in terror, while Decoe and Bocoe, and Orbot and Cubot, hugged each other.
They felt sheer terror when they saw two enormous blue eyes cover the ship's window and stare directly at them with a dark look of anger within those irisis.
"Erm...H-hello, Chris...N-nice day we're having..." Eggman greeted nervously with a weak smile and wave.
But the giant boy wasn't having any of it, and simply wasn't going to let the evil scientist get away with what he has done.
"EGGMAN! STOP HURTING THESE PEOPLE AND DESTROYING OUR TOWN, OR I'LL SQUASH YOU FLAT!" Chris warned, inadvertently yelling which caused everyone to cover their ears. Even Sonic had to as he was right next to his giant friend's head.
The blue hedgehog couldn't help but sweat drop at how the giant boy was using the strength of his voice and body, holding the not-so-giant Fortress like a toy airplane.
'Man, he's strong, and huge. I hope Chris doesn't let his giant size go over his head again.' The hero of Mobius thought to himself. He knew that his giant friend wouldn't hurt anyone, but Sonic had been scared of the bit of immaturity and brief loss of sanity within the twelve-year old boy, and it made him begin to worry that he could lose control again. But either way, giant or not, the cobalt teenager would stay by his side, as a close friend. No matter how terrifying the situation was.
Eggman trembled in fear that he began to sweat profusely, afraid of what would become of him if Chris did squash him flat like a pancake.
"NOT ONLY THAT, YOU'RE THE CAUSE OF ME GROWING INTO A GIANT IN THE FIRST PLACE AND MAKING ME LOSE MY MIND." Chris continued, glaring right through the window before he used his left hand he used to gently hold Sonic earlier, breaking through the glass and picked up the evil scientist, much to the horror of his four robots who ducked and screamed, fearing in being held captive themselves.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Eggman wailed a high-pitched scream, clasped in a much horrifying way with his arms pinned to his sides. "P-Please, don't hurt me!"
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT. NOT ONLY YOU TRIED TO KILL SONIC AND ALMOST KILLED ME, YOUR STUPID MACHINE MADE ME GROW AND NOW YOU'RE TRYING TO DESTROY STATION SQUARE AGAIN. THIS HAS GONE TOO FAR." The twelve year old giant boy growled.
The evil doctor gulped, stuttering. "I-I can explain this."
He turned to Sonic and said pleadingly. "C'mon, Sonic. Help me out, here! He's your friend! Tell him to stop and let me go, like how you managed to get through to him to let you go!"
"I would, but since you're the one who caused my best friend to grow into a giant and almost took him away from me twice in two days, this is what you deserve." Sonic said with a deep frown, folding his arms to his chest and glared up at his enemy.
"It wasn't my fault, I swear! I never intended in growing you or your friends into giants!" Eggman exclaimed in fear, looking over his shoulder as much as possible. "Orbot and Cubot are the ones who replaced my broken Laser Cannon with a Growth-Ray Cannon!"
"It was definitely their fault!" Decoe added fearfully, shivering.
"They messed up big time!" Bocoe continued. "No pun intended."
"We're very sorry, Mr. Giant Chris! We didn't intend on doing it!" Orbot cried out, in guilt and fear.
"Please don't eat us!" Cubot wailed, clasping his hands together. That only made the other three robots to gaze at him skeptically since they knew that giants don't eat metal.
"Don't care who's fault it is!" Sonic snapped. "You better turn Chris back to normal, or else he'll really play with you like toys!"
Eggman sweat dropped as the giant Chris gave him an 'evil' grin before saying. "WELL, EGGMAN. IT'S EITHER YOU TURN ME BACK TO NORMAL, OR I'LL KEEP YOU AS MY NEW TOY TO PLAY WITH. SO, IF YOU WANT TO NOT GET HURT, YOU SHRINK ME BACK TO NORMAL, GOT IT?"
"S-sir, yes, sir!" Eggman gulped, nodding fearfully.
Sonic couldn't help but laugh at just how scared his enemy was. "Man, I've never seen you so scared like this before, Eggman! This is a scream! Now, about your Egg Fortress..."
The mad doctor growled, before grinning. "Even if you could trap me, you'll never be able to destroy my ship, Sonic. Not by a single power ring shot."
That made both Sonic and Chris glare at their enemy, prompting the latter to tighten his grip slightly on Eggman who yelped at the pressure of being squeezed, while his robots began to panic as they were still inside the giant boy's grasp with his right hand still holding the ship.
"I reckon we'd oughta get outta here!" Cubot exclaimed.
"That would be an excellent idea." Orbot agreed, shivering.
"The doctor is captured by the giant Chris Thorndyke. We're as good as scrap!" Bocoe gulped.
"We must abandon ship at once!" Decoe cried out.
The four robots quickly ran out of the bridge before jumping and opened up back-up paracutes, floating down to the ground to safety, which was noticed by their creator and the two young heroes, just as the X Tornado flew over, seeing what was happening and hovered not too fair from their gigantic human friend and best hedgehog heroic friend.
"You cowardly traitors! Help me out here!" Eggman shouted, furious that his robots had abandoned him.
When Tails and Amy saw what was going on, the former sweat dropped nervously while the latter couldn't help but giggle. "That will serve Eggman right for trying to kill my Sonic, our friend Chris, turning him into a giant and attacking Station Square."
The two-tailed sighed, as he finished analyzing the Egg Fortress' weakness before setting up the megaphone communicator to have Sonic and Chris hear him.
"Hey, Sonic! The Egg Fortress won't have any damage even if you use one ring! I scanned it's armor and it needs to be attacked with twice amount of power than before!" Tails called out.
"But Tails, we can't risk in doing it here. People could get hurt." Amy pointed out.
"I DON'T THINK IT'S A GOOD IDEA IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY, TAILS." Chris added even though he couldn't hear what the pink hedgehog just said.
While Eggman snickered at the futile attempt despite that Chris had him and his vessel in his hands, Sonic on the other hand, thought of something, and said to his friends. "I have an idea. Let's take this thing out of the city, and Chris, you throw Eggman's dumb flying boat across the ocean and then Tails can hand me over two rings."
"WHAT!?" Eggman screamed, realizing what his young enemy had in mind.
"HUH? YOU MEAN..." Chris trailed off, realizing what his friend on his shoulder meant.
"Yep! Time to keep on using that Super Chris strength of yours, buddy." The blue hedgehog smirked with a thumbs up. "Then after that, we'll have Egghead to turn you back to normal before we throw him off to jail."
"Are you nuts? Why would I help you to turn your little brat friend back to his original size?" Eggman cut in, glaring at his enemies, only to flinch in fear when he was drawn up directly to the giant boy's face, huge eyes looking directly at his entire being.
"I DON'T KNOW, SONIC." Chris began, thanfully teasingly this time, while Sonic tried not to laugh at just how scared the ugly mustached-man looked, and both Tails and Amy laughed and giggled from up high in the air with the X Tornado on hover. "I ACTUALLY LIKE BEING THIS BIG AND HOLDING EGGMAN LIKE A TOY DOES HAVE A BONUS. I CAN JUST HOLD HIM LIKE THIS AS LONG AS I WANT, IF HE REFUSES TO TURN ME BACK TO NORMAL."
"If you say so, big guy." Sonic snickered, smirking 'evilly' at the mad and now terrified doctor. "Looks like you're Chris' new toy, Eggman."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The evil scientist cried in dismay, now unable to do anything since not only he was still trapped within the grasp of the giant twelve year old boy, but his Fortress was about to be destroyed, meaning that he ultimately lost to Sonic and his friends again. Even worse, if he didn't turn Chris back to normal size, he'll be the twelve year old's new toy!
Either way, once again Eggman is the loser. As usual.
"So, what's it gonna be? You help Chris turn back to normal, or you spend the rest of your life being played with?" The hero of Mobius challenged.
Shivering in fear as he knew he was in major trouble, Eggman cried out. "Alright, alright! I do have a Shrinking Ray that only works on reversing the effects! It's back in my base!"
"That's better." Sonic grinned, folding his arms. His friends copied his expression. "Looks like your evil plot's foiled again, Egg-face."
Just then, Chris' body began to glow in blue aura with electricity flowing from the main buildings as well as the Egg Fortress, much to everyone's alarm as Sonic and his friends and even Dr. Eggman all gasped in shock and horror.
"WHA-NO, NOT AGAIN!" Chris exclaimed in dismay.
"Oh no, Chris!" Sonic cried out in horror, while finding himself clinging onto a few strains of his giant friend's hair to make sure he wouldn't fall off, screaming as the human boy began to grow even taller now.
"W-what now!?" Eggman asked, feeling the pressure become tighter as he felt like he was getting smaller but knew that it was the twelve year old Thorndyke who was growing bigger.
"Oh no! Chris's body is radiating from the Egg Fortress and the City's electricity!" Tails exclaimed in horror while Amy screamed, before the former quickly flew back a little as everyone else in Station Square, even, unbeknownst to the heroes and the evil villain, Jerome Wise and the Army in Tanks that were approaching to arrest the hero of Mobius and his friends, could only watch on in horror and awe to see the rapid growth increase.
In the Thorndyke family car that was driving into the scene, Chuck, Ella and Tanaka had arrived to try and reach the former's grandson and the young Mobians when the three adults saw, to their dismay, that the twelve year old boy was rapidly growing again against his will.
"The electromagnetic flux is acting up again!" The elderly Thorndyke exclaimed, before shouting at the group as loudly as he could. "Sonic, Chris! You have to get rid of that fortress and out of the city fast or else the growth will continue to get worse!"
"C'mon, Chris! We gotta get you outta here and get rid of this egg ship! Or else you'll only get bigger!" Sonic exclaimed, just as his giant friend stopped at a frightfully huge height of 130 feet, after being forced to let go of the hair and clinged onto the shoulder, his fingers holding a tight grip on the fabric of the boy's shirt.
"UHHH...OKAY." Chris replied, which made the blue hedgehog cover his ears wincing at just how loud the former's voice was, making the twelve year old try to whisper apologetically. "SORRY, SONIC. I'LL TRY TO KEEP IT DOWN."
"No problem." The fifteen year old replied, giving his human best friend a thumbs up.
"Erm, as much as I hate to agree with Sonic, and I'm pretty sure that your grandfather and two-tailed fox friend have already figured out the problem, because perhaps now's the time I swallow my pride and say get rid of my Egg Fortress." Eggman admitted, shivering in fear as now it was a lot more easier for the boy to hold him, feeling like he was being squeezed to death.
"Hurry, Chris, or else the Electromagnetic flux will only make you even bigger!" Tails cried out through the X Tornado's in-build megaphone.
Not certain what his friends were talking about, Chris just nodded and after telling Sonic to hold on, he carefully but quickly made his way through the city which he almost completely towered over to head over to the Emerald Coast, while the cobalt speedster held on and the X Tornado followed, unaware that Jerome, refusing to let them get away, followed, as did Chuck and the House servants who drove further up ahead to catch up the youngest Thorndyke.
"Don't let them get away! I want that doctor, that hedgehog and his friends and that giant kid locked up in Area 51!" Jerome shouted, while failing to hide his fear since he and the army were about to confront a giant twelve year old boy.
But as the troubles seemed to be getting worse before they would get better, Jerome was unaware that the President, who had seen this on the news and had seen both Sonic and Chris cry, was already in his limo making his way towards the young heroes as he knew what he had to do.
'Please be safe, Sonic and Christopher. I just hope I'm not too late to stop Jerome from making foolish decisions.' The President thought to himself, as while public safety came first, he knew of one thing.
Sonic and his friends didn't deserve to be locked up just for Eggman's actions.
A/N: Sorry for the major long delay for this story. It took me ages to get this chapter right and I've written and re-written it at least four times and in the end had to cut the last confrontation part for the next chapter which will be the last. I know it isn't that great, but this is what I could come up with. The final chapter will finally see Chris to return to normal, but not without a little bit of another problem which will be solved.
