Day 1
Sakuya smiled as she watched Shiho move around on the mat, although she wasn't strong enough to crawl, it seemed like she was having the time of her life just moving her arms and legs around. Occasionally, Sakuya would give her a gentle tickle, getting a laugh out of the infant. All of Sakuya's exhaustion had seemingly faded away, right now all she could think about how happy she was to be a mother.
As she played with her baby, she was distracted by a knock at the front door.
"Who could that be?" She said to herself, "Come one Shiho, we have a visitor." Sakuya picked Shiho off the ground and walked towards the front door, opening it to be met with a familiar face. "Reimu! What brings you here?"
"I heard about your vacation. I figured you wouldn't know what to do with yourself and stay home all day, so I thought I'd stop by so you wouldn't get bored."
"How considerate of you, and you brought little Haru, too!" Sakuya lowered her head and faced the 9 month old girl, "How are you doing, Haru? Is your mama treating you well?"
"Mmm..." Haru turned away and snuggled up against her mother's chest
"Sorry about that, she doesn't really leave the shrine a lot, so seeing new places makes her shy." Reimu said as she comforted her child
"That's quite alright, why don't you come in, I'll get us some snacks and tea." Sakuya leads Reimu into the living room where she placed Shiho back on the mat before walking towards the kitchen, Reimu sat down on a couch and placed Haru on the floor, where she began waddle around on her unsteady legs. Before long, Sakuya returned with the promised snacks and tea, as well as some toys for Haru,
"So how's life as a mom treating you so far?." asked Reimu
"It's been going well." Sakuya replied
"Really? Because I heard that you've been exhausting yourself to the point of passing out."
"Who told you about that?"
"You passed out at my shrine, remember, it's easy to assume what you've been going through, I won't ask you why you stopped using your powers, but why do you work yourself to death like that? It's not good for or your baby." Reimu's question made Sakuya uncomfortable, she started to fidget around as she replied
"Well... old habits die hard, you know? Remilia took me in and basically raised me, so I thought that if I worked myself, I'd be like I was repaying her," Sakuya looked at Reimu with a sad look, "though it seems like the mistress doesn't agree with that sentiment, especially after Shiho was born," Sakuya sat down next to Shiho, patting her light brown hair, "anyway let's talk about something else, I don't want to spend my whole vacation discussing personal topics."
"You're right, I shouldn't be laying into you as soon as we start talking, so let's just relax."
Reimu and Sakuya discussed varying topics, from how their week had been to the latest incidents, Haru was playing around with the toys Sakuya had brought while Shiho continued to move her arms and legs around, almost as if she was excited that there were more people around her.
"So Haru can already walk? That's amazing!" Sakuya exclaimed
"Yeah, she's a real quick learner, but I have to keep more of an eye on her, she's prone to falling over." Reimu replied
"I see, I hope she hasn't hurt herself."
"She'll be fine, if she does fall over, the flo-" Reimu was interrupted by a loud knock on the door
"Who could that be?" Sakuya walked over to the door and opened it, only to be met with an unexpected sight, at her door was Remilia and her husband, looking more tired than usual
"M-mistress, what are you doing here? Did you need me for something?" Sakuya asked
"Of course not, the mansion isn't falling apart just yet," she says as she lets herself in and heads towards the living room, "my intention was to visit the shrine and convince Reimu and that hag of my stories, it appears that the mansion butler knows what I was talking about. Unfortunately, Reimu wasn't there when we got there, we asked around and found out where she went, so here we are."
"I see, and by stories, you mean that battle in the sky you were talking about?"
"Of course, as well as that Tengu that was breifly mentioned."
Remilia found her way to the living room and sat on the couch, followed by her servant, who sat next to her, upon seeing her father, Shiho smiled in excitement while looking at him.
"Reimu, remember that conversation we had yesterday, about how I saw a danmaku battle in the sky in the outside world 500 years ago?" Remilia explained.
"Yeah, what about it?"
"It just so happens that my servant here knows exactly what I'm talking about! If that isn't proof enough, then I don't know what is! Go on, tell her!" Remilia commanded while grabbing his shoulder."
"Uh... well I know there was an event 500 years ago where people in Germany saw something in the sky, I don't know if it was a 'danmaku battle', but they certainly saw something, but if Remilia says she saw something then it clearly wasn't some kind of optical illusion" the servant explained
"And did you see this yourself?" Reimu asked
"Of course not, I wouldn't be born for a long time."
"How do I know you're telling the truth and not just saying things Remilia wants you to say."
"Because I have this," the servant pulls out a wooden tablet from a bag he was holding and gave it to Reimu, it depicted various objects of different shapes and sizes above a small town, below the image were words that Reimu couldn't understand
"It's german, it basically says that they say lights in the sky and they started fighting each other."
"I see, but how could this have happened? Outside worlders know very little about magic, let alone outside worlders from 500 years ago."
"Don't ask me, I wasn't there."
"If this is true, I might need to have a serious discussion with Yukari about it, I don't know a lot about how the barrier works, but I do know that it involves a lot of time and space manipulation, if there was a battle so big that it could be seen from the outside world 500 years ago, it could mean that something big could happen in the future."
"So you believe me then?" Remilia said expectantly
"I'm not totally convinced, but considering the evidence and the gravity of the situation, at the very least, it's something I need to take seriously"
"Yes, mission accomplished!" Remilia turns to her servant, "as a reward for your efforts, you may have the rest of the day off."
"R-really?" he replied, surprised by the sudden generosity
"Yup, I'm satisfied with your work, go hang out with your wife or something, I shall take my leave," Remilia floats away and exits through the front door, Reimu stands up and picks up Haru
"I should go too, wouldn't want to get in the way of you two lovebirds," she said, looking at Sakuya, before picking up the wooden tablet," and I'm taking this with me, if you don't mind, Yukari made a joke about it yesterday, but if this is true, it could be something serious."
After Reimu leaves, Sakuya walks up to her husband and gives him a peck on the lips.
"I missed you." She says with a smile on her face, "and it looks like someone else missed you too." Sakuya picks up the excited Shiho, and hands her to her husband.
"Ah! Hahaha!" Shiho laughs as she grabs on to her father.
"Hey there! You missed me? I missed you too, sweetheart." he places a kiss on her forehead before speaking to Sakuya, "Man, am I tired."
"Did the mistress work you to death without me around to help?" she asks
"Nothing like that, but since I couldn't fly, she got mad that I was 'slowing her down', so she forced me to carry her all the way to the shrine, and when Reimu wasn't there, she made me carry her all the way back!"
"Oh my, how terrible," Sakuya gives him an apolegetic look, "I'm sorry this is my fault."
"Don't warry about it!, as long as you got the rest you need, I'm fine with doing anything."
"Just don't exhaust yourself too much, we don't want another servant being put on forced leave, then the mansion will truly fall apart.
"You got that right, but since we have the rest of the day to ourselves, maybe we should do something."
"Actually... I was thinking, since I'm going to on vacation for the rest of the week, I won't be seeing you around a whole lot, so maybe we could just spend the rest of the day at home, just the two of us, and Shiho of course.?
"If that's how you want to spend the day, I'd be happy too oblige."
"You're the best dear," Sakuya wraps her arms around him, giving him a kiss that lasts a few seconds, but felt like minutes, before speaking again.
"I love you."
Extra: Conception
"My life is over."
"Sakuya..."
"How can I ever face Meiling again after that."
"Sakuyaaa..."
"Maybe I should just end it now..."
"Sakuya!"
"Huh, darling? What is it?"
"It's really not that bad"
"B-but she saw is doing 'that'"
"Yeah, it's embarrassing, but it's not the end of the world, and she's not the kind of person to who would mock us over it.
"You're right, but it's just so embarrasing, how am I going to explain to the mistress that we were doing 'that' on the job?"
"I'm sure she won't be too upset, you're her favorite after all, just take your time and get over it."
