Sorry for the wait. I don't have much access to the computer any more, and my sleeping schedule is really off because I stayed up all sort of crazy hours the other day. That, and I've been doing something else, writing something else down on paper, and discussing something ELSE with someone. I'm all over the place, and trying to straighten myself out. I want to finish all of my fics within five years, as I don't want to be that writer who leaves a fic hanging for six years or more. I hate how long it's taken me to get this far. I appreciate all of your reviews and support, JIRO. Please check out my FB page too. Just type in Jiro Uchiha: Da Boss Of All Bosses and you should find it. THANKS, JIRO.
Krom sighed, thinking about Saria. He remembered when she conceived in the early summer, and now, it being early winter, wondered when she was going to give birth. Hopefully, thinking about it doesn't quicken the process Krom thought, and looked around. He had gathered Rocky, Spots, Nibbles, Leonidas, Rufus, Emolga, Twiggy, Castle Face, Jerry, The Stealth Rangers, Drago Churchburner, Hercules, Foxy, Kooky, Rafiki, Jack, Blutvinna, Staraptor, Birisu, Gram, Acheron, The Pignite Pupitar hybrid, Boris, Bouffalant, Bruce, DJ Swamp, The Buddhalax, Clera, Mahmut, Hinata, The Oozaru, and Cernunnos. He smiled, looking at each of them. His Pokemon were powerful, each capable of defeating a region by their lonesome. He hummed, and thought long and hard about it. "Now that Kalos has access to Sinnoh and Unova, we must prepare for this. And so, most of you will not be going with me to Kanto." he said, and they all seemed deterred by this. "Most of you will will stay here and prepare the next generation. And, I've decided that after the birth of my children, I want them to know their father's Pokemon. And, as such, Saria will not be accompanying me to Kanto." he said, and most of the Pokemon looked up. "I want my children, and their children, to experience what peace is like. And so, step forward if your name is called." he said, hoping he was making the right decision.
"Cernunnos." he said, and the ghost tree stepped forward, and Krom nodded. "Simba said that you wanted to see Kanto, and you will." he said, and looked forward. "Kooky and The Stealth Rangers." he said, and the twelve hammer emblazoned helmets stepped forward, led by the deranged Pawniard, who giggled as they were called. "You will serve the same roll as in Unova." he said, hoping he didn't sound like a military general, and like a kind trainer. "Clera." he said, and the surprised Leavanny stepped forward. "I feel, that even though you are a healer, you didn't get enough of the spotlight, and will make an effort to include you more in Kanto." he said, and the Pokemon nodded happily. "Acheron." he said, and the Absol stepped forward. "Kyurem entrusted you to me, and I will care for you personally." he said, and Acheron nodded. "Thank you Krom." he said, and the Halfling nodded. "And now, I will begin telling you all why I am choosing to leave you here." he said.
"Castle Face. You aren't the youngest, or kindest of Pokemon. You should stay and show younger fossil Pokemon how to adapt to modern times. Jerry, you're still young, and the Pokemon you can train with here are much stronger and safer for you." he said, and the Bastiodon grunted, and the mouse chirped. "Emolga. I never really gave you a name, did I?" he asked, and she shook her head. Krom smiled. "Then I shall call you Iris, after the woman who was one of my inspirations." he said, and she smiled. "As a female Pokemon, and Jerry's foster mother, you should stay behind and keep an eye on him." he said, and she nodded. "Mahumut, you've already done so much for me, and you deserve a good rest. And, it'll give you time to focus on caring for Boris." he said, and the mammoth smiled, watching the green crocodile leap onto his tusk. "Blutvinna and Staraptor, you are so wise, and would maker a great role model to any flying Pokemon, and any Pokemon trainer that needs wisdom." he said, and the birds nodded. "Drago and Hercules." he said, and the two cast a glance between each other. "My children need someone to protect them, and with how powerful you to are, I want you to be those protectors." he said, and the two nodded. "Bruce, DJ Swamp, the village is silent a lot, and I think that you two could change that." he said, and the DJ and his friend smiled and nodded, high-fiving each other.
"Gram, I want you to stay behind and learn how to use you blades more efficiently from Jack." He said, and the Haxorus nodded, looking to the elder Pokemon. "Buddhalax, I feel that the village needs you. You are a spiritual adviser, and the village needs that. Bouffalant, you are Hercules' protege, and should stay back to learn from him. Oozaru and Rafiki, I want you two to stay behind and train. I want you guys to shock me with you power when I come back." he said, and the two primates smirked and nodded. "Nibbles is young, so I want Rocky to stay behind and keep an eye on him." Krom said, then turned to Spots. "You should head back to Sinnoh, as I know they'll be in an uprage now that I'm Unova Champion. Take Rufus, Twiggy, Foxy, Leonidas and Bundy with you." he said, pointing to the hybrid. Looking to Hinata, he nodded. "I want you to bond with one of my daughters, if I have any." he said, and she nodded happily. Sighing, he continued his listings, and was honestly surprised why he didn't take more Pokemon. He sat, staring at his reflection in a clear glass of water, and thinking hard about what step he should take next.
He heard a familiar giggle, and turned to see Kyouhei calm, and actually relaxed, unlike when Krom returned and found the boy in a dark mood. And the funny thing was, Krom never figured out what put him in that mood. And yet, here he was without a care in the world. "Kyouhei." he said, catching the boy's attention. He sat straight, smiling at Krom like a child receiving their first Pokemon. "I've made a decision. One you might not like." he said, picking up the glass and drinking from it. "I've decided that you are staying in Pinwheel with Saria, and will not be joining me on my trip to Kanto." he said, and Kyouhei froze. The air around him seemed to thicken, and the boy held an aura of darkness and devastation. Krom sighed, and looked to Kyouhei. "Don't be upset. It's for the best. Simba says that he wants to keep you closer, and I want my kids to have someone to look up to." he said, and Kyouhei nodded. "Okay." he said, still seeming crestfallen. Krom chuckled, and pat the boy on the back. "Don't worry. I promise I'll come get you after Kanto." he said, and the boy smiled and nodded. Krom stood, off to finish taking care of his preparations, so that he can leave at any given time.
Krom walked through the village, seeking out Orzhov, and had an issue finding him. Krom expected this from a Dark Halfling, as they can be elusive. Krom questioned whether or not to even invite he boy to travel with him, as he wasn't the closest person to him. The Sneasel Halfling did admire Krom for helping him in his time of need, and helping to get revenge on the almost mercenary like clutch of dragons. Krom expected to feel some form of regret killing the clutch, as they were also Dragons, which was the rarest type as far as he knew. And yet, for what they did to Orzhov, and his Pokemon, and the Pokemon of other Halflings. He looked from side to side, smiling at the peace, and happy he could have been part of keeping it. He inhaled deeply, and something began to tingle the roof of his mouth. Surprisingly, it was a scent. Orzhov's scent. Krom blinked, following the scent without hesitation, but unable to remember when he had scent glands on the roof of his mouth, which, he thought, was a characteristic of feline Halflings. The Pokemon that Krom allowed to come with him were training vigorously, prepared for anything. Most of the ones that Krom said were staying were upset, as Krom was, but, regardless of the situation, he felt that it would be a little odd bringing a small army to the first gym. He opened his mouth again, wondering if the cat like scent glands would help him pinpoint the Halfling quicker. He caught Orzhov's scent, but it was muffled by a larger scent of similar makeup, so it was obviously a Dark Halfling, or Pokemon. Krom flared his nostrils and caught the scent better, and noticed that the larger scent was Foxy, his Zoroark.
Krom perched in a tree, watching the boy closely. He found it odd that Foxy always chose to hang around the boy. The fox seemed happy, just sitting there listening to the boy talk about nothing in particular. Krom sighed, and wondered if he should take Foxy with him, as it seemed she made him happy. But first, he needed to see someone about a very peculiar subject.
"Halfling-Pokemon relations?" Simba asked, puzzled by Krom's question. Krom nodded. "Yes. I was just wondering if it was different than human Pokemon relations." he said, and Simba chuckled. "Well, for one, as a Halfling, your Pokemon heritage helps. For example, me and you would work well with Electric Pokemon easily because we are electric Halflings. Saria would easily work well with Psychic and Fairy Pokemon, being a Gardevoir. Orzhov and Ishron would work best with Dark Pokemon, and Rex too, but he prefers to work with Rock Pokemon." Simba explained, and Krom nodded. "Why?" The Luxray asked, and Krom chuckled. "Well, everytime I find Orzhov, Foxy is with him, and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take Foxy with me to keep Orzhov calm." he said, and Simba chuckled. "He's not Kyouhei, he doesn't need to be kept. But, I will admit that the bond between those two is interesting to say the least. Perhaps he sees Foxy as a mother figure, as he never really had much family, if any. We have a small group of orphaned Halflings that only really have Glenda as their mother figure. I believe Orzhov was part of that group, if I remember correctly. I could be wrong." he said, and Krom nodded.
"You know, I remember a case similar to yours." he said, and Krom frowned. "When I went to Kalos, and I walked onto Route 5, I ran into a Lucario, who I called Forseti. We spent most of the day together, until Shalour City Gym Leader Korrina appeared and told me the Lucario was hers. So, I continued going through the Kalos region, running into Forseti repeatedly, and once I defeated Korrina, she gave me Forseti after a very impressive battle atop the Tower Of Mastery." he said, and Krom frowned. "So you believe that if this persists, I give Foxy to Orzhov?" he asked, and Simba nodded. "The only way I can see you keeping Foxy is if Orzhov dies, and I don't think wither of us wants that." he said, and Krom nodded, agreeing. He sighed. "So, what if their bond isn't parental?" he asked, and Simba rose a brow. "That doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'd think about." he asked, and Krom chuckled. Simba sighed. "In the event their bond isn't parental, and it is similar to the bond Ash Ketchum and Pikachu had, then they may become an extremely powerful duo. The bond between those two was so strong, that it lingers in Pallet Town to this day." he said, and Krom nodded. He bid farewell to the Luxray, and headed out to finish what he started, and invite the boy to come with him.
Simba stared after Krom, wondering if the Zekrom was truly satisfied with Simba's assesment. "Are you sure that the bond between those two isn't something else?" he heard a voice ask, and he turned to see Sher-Khan standing behind him. He chuckled. "If it is, then I'm sure that one surprise won't kill Krom." he said, and Sher-Khan nodded. "Why don't you take Bergelmir and go see Krom. Try not to mention this conversation." he said, and Sher-Khan nodded, off to complete his task.
Krom headed back to the forest where he saw Foxy and Orzhov, and noticed that they hadn't moved. Foxy sat leaning against a tree, and Orzhov fished with a makeshift fishing rod. He wasn't getting a bite, and Krom decided to toy with the boy. Focusing on the water, and it's ability to conduct electricity, Krom unleashed a small Thunderbolt under the water, causing the bait to bob around and fall under the water. Orzhov, likely having never fished before, yanked hard, figuring that the water moving like that meant that something big was biting. The line flew out of the water with nothing on it, and Orzhov fell back, and Krom chuckled, walking into the open and helping the boy stand. "You should wait until it feels like somethings trying to pull you in." he said, and the boy chuckled. "Foxy, I want you to go with me to Kanto. I've thought it over, and your illusionary powers will help conceal us and anyone we're with." he said, and the fox nodded, and Orzhov became upset. "Why can't she stay?" he asked, and Krom sighed. "Because I thought it over. If we're trying to conceal a Halfling from those who would see them dead, Foxy's power would help avoid bloodshed, as I'm trying to be more civil, as it is expected of a Champion, though being civil isn't my strong suit." he said, and Orzhov frowned. "But Foxy is my friend, and friends should stick together." he said, and Krom smirked, but concealed it quickly. "You want to stick with Foxy?" he asked, and the boy nodded.
"Okay. You can stay with Foxy. Matter of fact, I was going to ask you if you wanted to go to Kanto with me, because Simba wants Kyouhei to stay behind so that he can monitor him." he said. Orzhov beamed, and nodded. "I'd love to go!" he exclaimed, and Krom smiled. "That's good. You should prepare yourself, because I plan on leaving soon." he said, and Orzhov nodded, grabbing the bipedal fox's paw and dragging her along. Krom heard a chuckle, and turned to see Sher-Khan standing with his arms folded, and a Pokeball dangling from his waist. He walked over to the taller Halfling, and handed him the Pokeball. "Inside that Pokeball is a friend of mine. His name is Bergelmir. I hope that you'll take care of him. Before you leave, which I can see will be soon, I wish to battle you and Bergelmir. I do not want him traveling with a trainer who can't even defeat a little boy." he said, baring his teeth, before turning around and leaving. Krom chuckled, looking at the ball. He decided not to release the Pokemon, instead opting for using it only when he battled Sher-Khan, to show him just how well they could work together. He just hoped the Pokemon had the power to defeat whatever Sher-Khan used.
Saria sighed, looking at Krom's Pokemon, and her own, smiling at them, thinking of the memories each of them had made with her, from when she got them, to every bloody battle they took part in. With the village populace exploding, Simba had asked to see Saria to talk to her, and she wondered about what. She turned to the felid Halfling, and watched him stare at the Pokemon intently. "I want to ask something of you." he said, and she nodded. "I want you to speak to Krom, and tell him that the village is beginning to overflow, and that we need a secondary base of operations. Viridian Village is near capacity, and Ilex Village is no better. Eterna Village is in tatters after the Church takeover, and I'm still a bit weary of Kalos, so I won't even wonder about Santalune Village. That leaves Petalburg Village, and, unfortunately, me and the head there have never been on the best of terms." he said, and Saria nodded. "So, you want me and Krom to talk to the head of Petalburg Village in Hoenn?" she asked, and Simba chuckled. "No. Lancelot has never been one to deal with Unovans." he said. Saria tilted her head. "Lancelot?" she asked, and Simba nodded.
"Lancelot is a Gallade Gijinka. He was in charge of the village, with my help mind you, by time he was a Kirlia. He's a bit upset by that fact, and refuses to speak to me. And, to top it off, with Fairy Type Pokemon and Halflings spreading across the world, he hasn't been in the best of moods, as Gallade isn't the biggest fan of Fairy Types." he said, chuckling. Saria nodded, understanding. "So, you want us to create a second base for Pinwheel? How?" she asked. Simba frowned slightly, as though something angered him. "I want Krom to decide where in Kanto to set up an extra village. I have a feeling I know where he'll put a village, so I have a crew on hand for when he decides where to put it." he said, and Saria nodded. "And you want me to convince him to build you another village?" she asked, and Simba nodded. "Either that, or we take the risk of rebuilding Eterna Village." he said, and she understood. "I'll do what I can." she said, and Simba smiled. "Thank you. This means a lot to me." he said, and she smiled. She smiled, watching the Luxray stand and head towards the door. "You and Krom have done so much for us Halfling. You have our eternal gratitude for this." he said, heading out.
Vraakas waited for Simba outside the house Saria was in, and they began to walk through the village. "Listen to me Vraakas, I want that village to be heavily armed. After it's finished, I want you to take control of it and prevent anyone from taking it down. Use any means neccesary." he said, and Vraakas nodded. "What of Glenda?" he asked. Simba sighed. "Take her with you. I have a healer of similar caliber to Glenda." he said, and Vraakas seemed confused by the statement, but said nothing. "Very well. And is this healer as good with others as Glenda is?" he asked, and Simba chuckled. "You need not worry about that. I'm sure everyone will get along just fine." he said, continuing to be vague. "And what protection will this new village have?" Vraakas questioned, and Simba hummed. "Take My cousin with you, and his pride. They should be adequate help." he said, and Vraakas remained unconvinced. "And in the event I feel that they aren't?" he asked. Simba frowned. "Take Jackie with you." he said, and Vraakas seemed almost reluctant to agree. "And in the event Mega Evolution is needed to survive?" he asked. Simba frowned. "In the unlikely event that Jackie must Mega Evolve, evacuate the area of all allies, including Fire Halflings and Pokemon. That won't go well." he said, and Vraakas was wary. He'd never seen the Blaziken Mega evolve, and yet, he knew that it would be beyond the normal power of a Mega evolved Blaziken. How much, he struggled to determine. But he knew, that if Jackie ever Mega Evolved, he'd want to be far away too.
Krom smiled as he enjoyed a few final moments of simple bliss. Homika had taken Orzhov to check on his Chespin, and Krom sat calmly with Saria, his arm wrapped around her shoulder lovingly. "You know, we still haven't decided on names for our children." Saria said, and Krom chuckled. "We don't know how many you're having. Why pick out a few names, and then deal with the fact that you might not have picked enough?" Krom said, placing his hand on her stomach and rubbing it gently. She chuckled. "You are right. Though, I just feel like we should have had names picked out already." she said. Krom chuckled. "We're not Simba and Sable, who've been together for decades without children. And besides, we're a lot younger than simba and Sable, so we haven't had the time to think about it." he said, and she nodded. With their hectic lives, Krom's birthday, which was mid-summer, had passed by, and Saria's birthday, which wasn't that much later, being in early fall, passed by. They were both 12, and about to have children that were only half human, which, a year ago, Krom would have found impossible. And, to top it off, their grandfather was the god Pokemon Krom worships, and their mother was a type of Pokemon that existed only in Kalos. Krom knew that these children were precious, and he'd give his life for them.
Heavy boots clumped through Nacrene City, the dark night hiding the owner of the boots. Wearing a heavy cloak, the wearer clumped on further, the crisp night air nipping at his face. Luckily, his facial hair was plentiful, and kept most of his head warm as he trudged onto Pinwheel Village. Under the cloak were muscles so chiseled, that they couldn't be replicated in any form of art, be it sculpting or drawing. Facial hair so well kempt that even the highest quality Furfrou paled in comparison. Steely eyes so piercing, that many would surrender from a glance. And, at his waist, was an impressive hammer of impressive proportions. The weapon was clean, and nearly shone in the night, the cloaked one's peaceful life allowing for increased care of the hammer. However, he longed for the hammer to get dirty again, at least once, so that he knew that they were still hurdles for him to overcome, and power for him to gain. He looked to the sky and scowled, cursing the foul equestrian con artist known as Arceus. He prayed that each god and goddess on the horse's side would rebel, as slaying gods was not his favorite pastime.
The boots hit the Village grounds, and the bearded fellow smiled happily, remembering each day he spent ion the village intently. Days spent laughing, drinking and forging all the while. Days fighting off evil, and days spent wondering when his partner would awaken, and spent with his friends. The fellow walked further, and smiled at the impressive size of the village, and wondered just how well his tree houses were being put to use. He walked through the village slowly, enjoying each second of his time, the village's blissful atmosphere seemingly lulling him into a blissful trance. He heard a chuckle, and turned to see a familiar figure with long red fur, and one arm swinging from side to side as he closed in. "Haven't seen you in a while, Dwarf." he said, and the dwarf chuckled. "For truth! It has been some time Jackie." he said, looking up to the Blaziken. "Krom plans on heading out to Kanto soon. Are yo traveling with him, or just going for the trip?" he asked. The dwarf shrugged. "I know not. I hear tell of a second village needing to be built in Kanto to hold excess from this place. As much as I love the thrill of battle, I cannot ignore this." he said, and Jackie nodded. "Good. Vraakas and Glenda will be running the place, and I will be going as well, as a sort of last resort protection." he said, and Warriorf laughed. "I hear tell of Simba's blood going as well. His Kalosian cousin I believe. And his own pride. What would they need an old sot like you for?" he asked. Jackie smirked, a look that became more pronounced due to his beak. "You have not seem all that I can do." he said.
The dwarf rose a brow. "Do not tell me that Mega Evolution is your secret trick? It seems hardly likely that a bit of speed and strength will hardly make a difference." he said, and Jackie chuckled. "Have you not heard Simba's order? In the unlikely I event I mega evolve, all living creatures that are considered allies must evacuate and move away. That includes you, Dwarf." he said, and the dwarf became curious. "What is diffferent about your Mega evolution from any other Blaziken?" he asked, and Jackie smiled. "well, because I am missing an arm, I had to find a way to make up for it." he said, and Warriorf chuckled. "Vague. I see you want to show me one day." he said, and the Blaziken nodded. "Of course. Now, I have someone I wish to show you." he said, and then lead the dwarf to Glenda's hut. The Blissey Halfling had left work for the day, and Warriorf saw Homika leading a younger boy away from the hut. He frowned. "Who is he?" he asked. Jackie smiled. "That is Orzhov Quickclaw. He is a Sneasel Halfling, born from the womb of a Weavile. His Chespin was injured in battle, and I wanted you to take a look at him." he said, and the dwarf nodded, heading in to the hut. "So tell me, what else has progressed since I've left." he said, and the Blaziken sighed, and looked up slightly.
"Birisu and Z engaged in a very intense battle, in which they used both of their Mega Evolutions. Ishron was impressive, defeating many opponents in a tournament Simba held, only to be crushed by Kyouhei and Z the next day. Krom decided to leave Kyouhei in Pinwheel, and is traveling with Homika and Orzhov. And Orzhov seems to have bonded with Foxy, to an unknown extent." he said, and the dwarf shuddered. He looked at the odd rodent Pokemon. He hummed. "Does this green shell come off?" he asked. Jackie shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know. I've never seen seen the Pokemon without it. I assumed you could make a protective casing, or a helmet to allow the shell to heal, instead of replacing the shell with a metal one." he said, and the dwarf hummed. "I don't think I can replace the shell, as I don't know whether or not removing it would kill him. I'll make a helmet that will react to the shell, so that these leave like protrusions can sharpen. And, once the shell is repaired, if my helmet hasn't fused with him due to evolution, I will remove it." he said, nodding. Jackie smiled. "That is good. Krom and Orzhov will be thrilled." he said, and the dwarf nodded.
Krom had dozed off, and his head slid onto Saria's shoulder, where he rested peacefully. Saria smiled, happy that she had met Krom. She admitted, that if he hadn't saved her, she'd likely be a victim of the church, or a subject at a Sinnoh breeding facility. But, if not for her, krom would have never killed that first man, and became who he is today. So, she believed that the good outweighed the bad, as she didn't really see any bad to outweigh. She just hoped that all of their children were happy and healthy, and that some cruel god hadn't decided to spite them. She smiled, looking up to the ceiling, and the sky beyond it, and prayed to Mew the Miraculous that she'd have happy, healthy children, and that they wouldn't be outcasted because they were half Zekrom, and therefore demigods. She then thought to the stone the large eyed gym leader had given her. The Mega stone for her species. With the bond she had with Krom, could she Mega Evolve with that stone. And if she did, what affects would it have on her? She didn't want to worry about the details, so she figured that she's ask Simba about it in the morning. However, she hissed as her stomach began to hurt intensley, and she felt liquid begin to run from her core. She grunted, and the sound caused Krom to stir.
Simba froze, and Vraakas stopped next to him. "What is it?" Vraakas grunted out. Simba's pupils narrowed quickly. "Saria's water broke." he said, and began to dash in the direction of Krom's house, hoping that he'd make it in time.
The Halfling opened the door calmly, and found Saria teary-eyed with her hand clutching a worried Krom's hand. Simba walked in, with Vraakas closing the door behind him, and walked over. "Krom, look at me. I need you to listen to me." he said, and the worried dragon looked to Simba, his pupils draconic, and canines longer than normal. "I want you to put Saria on your bed, and then leave the house." he said. Krom's jaw moved, as if to protest, but Simba stuck a finger up. "Don't. The quicker you do as I say, the quicker I can help Saria." he said, and Krom nodded reluctantly, grabbing his wife. Simba heard him whispering lovingly to her as he carried her. He sat her down on the bed, and reluctantly let her hand go, stepping from the room. Simba stopped him. "On second thought, just stay out of this room. Protect the house with your life. The church knows when we aren't at our best, and know is one of those times." he said, and Krom nodded. He gave his wife one last glance before Simba shut the door, and her grunts turned into small cries of pain. The demigod clenched, hoping that everything went well, and that she survived childbirth.
