Krom sighed, sitting down and leaning back on the comfortable, and seemingly expensive, leather couch, his eyes traveling to Homika, who stood with her arm folded under her breasts, icy blue eyes locked on her young, and relaxed, husband. "Don't you think that you're being a bit too laid back? You're in a foreign land, and you were assaulted a while ago by Team Galactic." she said, narrowing her eyes as Krom chuckled. "With great power comes great responsibility. With great responsibility comes a need for great relaxation." he said, and Homika rose a brow, a crooked half smile on her face. "That sounds both lazy and cheesy." she said, closing her eyes and shaking her head. He chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. "Cheesy?" he said, smiling at his wife. "I don't fear foreign lands, they fear me." he said, his second and oldest wife rolling her eyes. "Cheesier than century old Gogoat cheese." she said, making him laugh. His laugh made her chuckle. They continued laughing as a knock resounded on the door.
Their laughter ceased as they glanced to each other, Krom balling his fist as Homika turned slightly, her eyes flashing a vibrant blue as she psychically unlocked the door. "Enter." Krom demanded in a deep tone, the skin on his hand beginning to peel away. The door opened slowly, a small child peeking in. Homika turned completely, not unfolding her arms. The skin on Krom's hand reformed, his fist unballing as he stood, a smile on his face. The child who opened the door was small, short and a bit pudgy. Her skin had a yellow tint to it, and her almond eyes were set on an elongated face, but only slightly. Her lips, long and thin, stretched forward slightly, similar to a duck's bill. Her fingers and toes were webbed, her small feet slightly broader than normal. She wore a simple white dress, one that went down to her knees. She glanced to Homika, a look of nervousness in her eyes as Krom walked toward her, kneeling down to look her in the eyes.
"Hey there, what are you doing out this late? You should be in bed right now." he said. The little girl blinked, glancing to Homika before back to Krom. "Lesnoy-Jiisama sent me here." she said, Homika raising a brow as she glanced to Krom, who turned his head to glance at her. "What for?" Homika asked, and she pointed a chubby, webbed finger in the direction of the square. "He says that your friend is fighting Ash-san and Hazel-san in the square." she stated, making Krom turn to Homika, who nodded. Krom stood, glancing to the girl. "Birisu." Krom called, the accented Mewtwo appearing, his icy blue eyes locking onto Krom as he bowed. "Yes Mastah?" he asked, glancing to Homika and bowing respectfully. She nodded in return, glancing to Krom as he spoke.
"Can you keep the little girl here company until we return?" he asked, the feline nodding. "Does the little gyal 'ave a name?" he asked, and Krom blinked, looking down to the little girl, who nodded. "My name is Mallary Shortbill." she said, patting her elongated, bill like lips, smiling up at the large feline, whose tail twitched. He kneeled down, bowing to her. "It is nice to meet you Me Lady." he said, and she smiled, reaching forward to pet the large feline. Krom chuckled as him and Homika left, Mallary in good hands. On the way there, Krom looked to his wife, whose Icy blue eyes locked onto him. "Will Orzhov be okay?" he asked, and Homika shrugged, sighing. "He may be fine. It could be over by time we get there." she said, glancing ahead to the large crowd formed around the square.
"What about this 'senjutsu' stuff they have? Will that just add on to his disadvantage?" he asked, and she frowned. "Most likely. Their fuckin' sensei must've been a gods damned genius, being able to train two Halflings to this degree that fast. The 'senjutsu' itself is similar to Nature Power enhanced attacks, or any beneficial non offensive move. The natural energy that they use will be irreplaceable, and can cause huge environmental issues if unchecked. It'd likely take a period of time undisturbed to gather the energy though, giving Orzhov an opening." she explained, and Krom nodded as they reached the square, pushing through all Halflings from big to small to reach the center, where Orzhov faced off against the duo.
Orzhov frowned, wondering why he even challenged them. Did he really want to defeat both of them for shits and giggles? Because they didn't listen to him and back away from Chespin? Or did he have a death wish? He shook his head, not focusing on the why as he sensed Krom and Homika in the square. He glanced to them, smiling as he turned back. He inhaled, steeling himself as he watched the duo. Ash stood in a standard Nuzleaf fighting stance, one open hand outstretched and one open hand near his waist, Hazel standing in a similar stance, but wish his hands more relaxed than his twin's.
He watched them lean forward, a sure sign of the fight starting. They seemed to move in slow motion, Orzhov's heart hammering in his chest as he watched the duo move closer and closer. He glanced to Krom and Homika, who both stood with their arms folded and scowls on their faces. They both nodded to him, and he nodded back, turning to the twins before charging forward himself. His eyes darted between the duo, noticing that Hazel was thinner than his brother, making Ash his first target.
The trio met in the center of the square, Orzhov leaning to the side to avoid a Brick Break from Hazel's right hand, his left hand coming up with an Ice Punch, Ash shoving his brother to the side and Low Kicking Orzhov in his left knee, causing him to spin and fall to one knee, forcing him to roll away from a Brick Break from Ash. Hazel leapt over his brother, trying to step on Orzhov as he rolled and spun out of the way, a recovered Orzhov grabbing Hazel's leg and pulling him to the ground, jumping atop him and balling his fists. He glanced up, rolling off Hazel as his brother leapt at Orzhov, Orzhov underneath an airborne Ash. He grabbed Ash's arm, pulling him to the ground and kicking him in the head, Hazel slamming his fist into Orzhov's cheek, knocking him off balance.
He cursed, glaring at Ash and Hazel. Ash moved first, charging Orzhov first, Hazel clasping his almost mitten like hands together and breathing in deeply. There it was. Hazel was trying to use that special technique their teacher showed them. Something told him he had to prevent it. He surged forward, clenching his fists, slamming his right fist in Ash's stomach, grabbing his shoulder with his other hand, using Ash like a riot shield, crashing into Hazel and breaking his focus. He spun, throwing Ash at his brother, the duo avoiding each other and standing. They both frowned, and Orzhov noticed that they seemed angered. He wondered if he could use their emotions against them, or if they would expect that. He inhaled, watching the duo charge him, his eyes focused more on Ash than Hazel. The shorter, heavier built twin seemed like more of an issue to Orzhov, and he didn't know why. He clenched his fists, exhaling as they closed in, Ash leading the charge in front of his brother.
Krom frowned, watching Orzhov's evasion of the twins, confused as to why he wasn't going on the offensive, as Sneasel had an obvious advantage over Nuzleaf "I don't get it. Why not at least try offense? Orzhov has to only graze them with a Fury Cutter or X-Scissor to break their momentum." Krom said to Homika telepathically, the Froslass Halfling shrugging her shoulders. "No clue," She began, watching Orzhov narrowly avoid a Brick Break, leaping back and stumbling slightly. "It could be because he's never been in a fight before. We can't all be war veterans." She finished, and Krom chuckled to himself, nodding. He watched Orzhov carefully, making a mental note to train the Halfling afterword.
Orzhov cursed as he stood, dusting off his arms as Ash and Hazel attacked from the sides. He cursed, noticing that the duo seemed extremely comfortable with the attack, as if they had done the same thing countless times. Orzhov leaned back, noticing that they leaned to the side as they charged. He had to do something unpredictable, and fast. Could his Protect withstand an assault from both of them, or would it fail? He cursed again, sliding back at the last second, grabbing the twins' heads and slamming them together, his hands coated in ice. He leapt over them, the duo recovering and splitting apart quickly, as if to avoid an attack. However, Orzhov didn't try to attack the duo, he instead used the time to recover slightly, his breathing evened out and heart slowed down. He watched the duo carefully as he recovered, hoping he was doing something right.
The Moon overhead, Orzhov inhaled as he decided to go on the offensive. He charged Ash, hoping that Hazel would move to defend his brother. Instead, Hazel stood still, making various hand movements as Orzhov clashed with Ash. Grunting at the force he literally crashed into Ash with, Orzhov cursed as he realized this seemed like their plan the whole time. Orzhov cursed, angry at himself for not seeing through what now seemed like an obvious ploy. One distracts Orzhov whilst the other powers up via 'senjutsu'. Orzhov growled as he turned to Ash, fist clenched.
He threw out his right arm, His fist covered in ice. Ash stepped back, coming down with a chop, breaking the ice around Orzhov's hand and injuring his hand. He cursed, instinctively throwing out his leg, striking Ash in the chest, knocking him back. Before Orzhov could attempt to disrupt Hazel's concentration, Ash pulled handfuls of grass from the ground, turning them into weapons by using Leaf Blade. Orzhov clapped his hands together, pulling them apart, using Ice Beam and Calm Mind to focus the ice into the shape of two small blades, close in size to Ash's but heavier. The duo charged, Hazel almost forgotten in the fray.
Ash came down with his right blade, Orzhov sidestepping to Ash's right, coming down with his left blade, Ash turning slightly, bringing up his right blade to parry, turning his body and swinging his left blade, Orzhov rolling around Ash to avoid the blade, swinging his left blade down at Ash's back, who spun and knocked Orzhov's blade away with his own left blade, knocking him off balance, Ash's right blade cutting a shallow wound across Orzhov's chest. Orzhov glanced to Hazel, than to his chest, and growled, clenching his blades tight in his hands. He ran forward, his plan forming with each step he took.
He jabbed forward at Ash with both blades, Ash sticking his blades in between Orzhov's to block, pushing Orzhov's blades above his head and then in a circle around him, Orzhov suddenly bringing his knee up, slamming it into Ash's chin as he used the momentum to lean back and throw his blades at Hazel, as the force of the blow knocked the blades from Ash's hands. Hazel cursed, his concentration broken as he rolled away from the blades, which landed in a tree behind him. Ash disabled temporarily, Orzhov charged Hazel, catching him off guard, slamming his right fist into the taller, weaker twin's stomach, Brick Breaking him in the throat with his left hand, moving his right fist back, slamming an Ice Punch into Hazel's face. Hazel stumbled back, his brother barely recovered.
Orzhov Power Up Punched Hazel in the chest, spinning and Brick Breaking his left shoulder, an audible crack heard as he cried out in pain, Hazel falling to the ground after a single Fury Cutter, a shallow wound across his chest. Orzhov panted, inhaling as his heartbeat slowed down. He closed his eyes as he recovered slightly, opening them to see Ash standing next to his brother, wooden markings across his flesh. "You'll pay for this." Ash said, and a worn Orzhov, pulling his shirt off to wipe blood off his black haired chest, laughed. "Why? They tax Ass Whoppin now?" he retorted, Ash growling and clenching his fists as he charged Orzhov.
Orzhov gestured for Ash to bring it on, taunting him as he regained his composure. "Bring it on Pencilneck!" Orzhov shouted, eliciting chuckles from the large crowd that was present. Ash crouched low, shooting upright with a left kick, Orzhov leaning back, rolling forward with his fist clenched, a wild right hand that caught Ash in the shoulder, knocking him off balance, Ash heading face first into the ground, throwing his arms to the ground and performing a handstand, spinning and kicking at Orzhov as he spun to his feet. Orzhov stepping to the side and clenching his fists. He threw his right hand up, blocking a jab from Ash, bringing his left knee up, Ash shoving it down with his left hand, Orzhov slamming his right elbow into Ash's collarbone, Ash placing his hand on the ground and flipping, kicking Orzhov in the chest, knocking him back as Ash stood upright, Orzhov stumbling back, Ash slamming his heel into Orzhov's chin, knocking him to the ground.
Orzhov hit the ground, dazed, vision blurred. He groaned, feeling around while his vision cleared. He felt something, his mind recognizing it as one of Ash's blades. He grabbed it, flinging it at Ash, scrambling to his feet after the blade. As Ash stepped to the side to avoid the blade, Orzhov closed in, launching an Ice Beam from his palms, Ash noticing it in the corner of his eye. He rolled around it, launching an Energy Ball from his palm, Orzhov slamming his hands into the ground, a wall of Ice forming as he used Dig to tunnel into the ground, erupting in front of Ash, catching him off guard.
Orzhov slammed his fist into Ash's face, causing him to stumble as Orzhov landed and gained his footing. Coating both of his fists in Ice, Orzhov slammed his left fist into Ash's stomach, his right fist colliding with Ash's temple, Ash stumbling and spinning, standing straight to counter Orzhov's next move, failing as Orzhov kicked him in the stomach, spinning and wrapping his arm around Ash's head, jumping and landing in a sitting position, Ash's Jaw slamming into Orzhov's shoulder, the Halfling falling to the side unconscious.
Orzhov panted, standing and glancing to Krom and Homika as he smiled. He turned to Ash and Hazel, the twins coming to, and laughing, wiping blood from his chin. "What did the Sneasel say to the Nuzleaf?" he asked, leaning against Krom, dazed and exhausted. "He said 'I whooped your candy asses!' bitch!" he said, laughing as they stood and clenched their fists. "You got lucky! You couldn't beat us if we fought in unison!" Hazel shouted. Orzhov laughed. "Bullshit!" he said, his exhausted state raking away his docile, polite exterior. "Even if you both fought me at the same time, you couldn't beat me!" he said, laughing. Krom glanced to Homika, the couple chuckling as well. Ash gritted his teeth, fist clenched. "You used cheap tactics!" he said, and Orzhov giggled. "Hey Composition Notebook," he began, laughing. "Cheap tactics DEEZ NUTS!" He said, laughing as Krom and Homika walked him away from the square, leaving the Nuzleaf duo behind.
One they arrived, Birisu glanced to them, Mallary asleep in a furry chair nearby. "Welcuhm Ohm Mastah." he said, bowing. Krom smiled, nodding in return. "Birisu, can you get Orzhov here into bed? Make sure to change the sheets in the morning." He said, the Feline nodding and gesturing Orzhov into the other room as Krom and Homika sat on the couch, smiling at each other before talking. "That was something." Krom said, Homika chuckling as she turned towards Krom, arms crossed over her chest as always. "Ya think?" she said, chuckling. "I was honestly impressed by how well he did." Krom said, glancing behind him as Birisu entered the room. He nodded to the feline, who bowed in return. "It seemed instinctual to me. But it was impressive, even for sheer primal instinct." she said, and Birisu's tail twitched.
"It seemed like Young Mastah Arrzhov fought wet a combination of instinct and memory of you Mastah. It seems like his fondness of sheer offense is inherited from you."Birisu explained, Krom laughing as he glanced to Homika. "Tomorrow morning I'll spar with him and get a feel for how gold he really is. Until then, we should get some sleep as well." he said, Birisu bowing before teleporting away.
Sitting in a field, Saria, Shira and Kyouhei watched Shere-Khan train his weaker siblings. She giggled when they tripped, fell, or misperformed an attack. She looked to her own children, most of which were starting to walk already, a sight that made her smile. She saw Aja stumble, bumping into the hard side of Hinata, her Heatran. Saria made a face. Was it still technically Krom's? She shook her head, looking to Magni, who walked shakily towards Shere-Khan, who stood with his arms folded, icy blue eyes on his own siblings. Saria looked to Freyja, who simply stood watching her sister. She heard footsteps, glancing to see Sable sitting next to her, a smile on her face. "Seems like the Rugrats are getting along." she said, and Saria giggled. "Nothings happened yet." she said, smiling. She glanced back to see Magni walking more stably, closing in on Shere-Khan and his siblings, the Oldest Halfling child taking note, his ear twitching.
"Thunderbolt!" Shere-Khan called, the three other Halflings clenching their fists and concentrating as they tried to use thunderbolt. His sisters, Sanatika and Sarabi, fared grimly, barely emitting a spark. His brother Scar however, fared well, generating a strong enough charge to char the grass beneath him. Shere-Khan sighed. "That's enough for today. Go play." he said, turning to face the young Zekrom Halfling behind him. He looked into the child's crimson eyes, folding his arms. What should he say, if anything? He shook his head, the Zekrom Halfling mimicking him. He sighed, turning and walking in the direction of his home, the child following him. He knew that he'd be in big trouble if he left Saria's sight with Magni following him. He turned, the child laughing as Shere-Khan looked him in the eye.
Saria giggled at the sight, Sable laughing along with her. "Khan, play with the kid!" she shouted, and Shere-Khan gave his mother an odd look as if he didn't understand. Sable shook her head. "He grew up too fast." she said, chuckling. Saria smiled, glancing to Nappa, her largest, and least active child. He laid sound asleep against Puppy, the Arcanine panting happily in the morning breeze.
When Krom awoke the next morning, he had a feeling that it'd be a good day. He woke up feeling oddly refreshed, sensing Orzhov waking in the other room. He glanced to the furry chair that held Mallary, the Psyduck Halfling still sound asleep. Mentally calling for Birisu as he felt Orzhov changing is clothing through his feet, he glanced to the large feline. "Does she have a place to live?" he asked, the feline shrugging as his eyes flashed. "It does not appear so Mastah. It seems that the less fortunate children are raised by Lesnoy and his forces." he said, Krom nodding. "I'm heading to train with Orzhov. Can you have Homika and Mallary awake and ready to leave within an hour and a half?" he asked, the feline nodding.
Orzhov seemed nervous as he stood across the field from Krom, two Ice Blades in hand. Krom clenched his fists, unclenching them as he smiled at Orzhov. "How hard can it be to run at me?" he asked, and Orzhov inhaled, furrowing his brow as he charged Krom. Orzhov came down with his left blade, a motion that made Krom smile. Krom stepped to his own left, grabbing Orzhov by his shirt and tossing him back to where he started. "Again." he said, watching Orzhov charge him again.
Homika groaned, walking out of the house to watch Krom and Orzhov, Mallary joining her shortly as the Psyduck Halfling watched on in awe. Orzhov was worn down, his bare hands bruised and swollen, his face and body scuffed from being handled like a ragdoll. Homika sighed as she scratched her hair, walking over to Krom to hug him, noting that Orzhov still charged forward regardless. Homika slid forward, stomping his toes, grabbing his head with her right arm, the arm around his neck the same way his was to Ash's, flipping him over her head, his back colliding with the ground as she stepped over him to hug her husband. When they separated, she cast a half conscious glance to Mallary. "What did ya wake me up for?" she asked, and he chuckled. "Lesnoy wants us to blend in. Might as well do it quick."he said, and she nodded. "Good point."
Stepping away from their temporary property, Krom took his first long look at the village. It was similar to Pinwheel, but seemed more... Natural. He inhaled deeply, even the air smelling and tasting different. He exhaled, his nostrils spreading as he looked for food. Walking to the East, he smelt pie. It smelt familiar, as if he knew what it tasted like. He inhaled, the aroma reminding him of Oran berries. "Smell something?" Homika asked, Krom nodding as he hummed, seeing a cafe nearby. "Oran Berry Pie. I'm getting some." he said, and Homika sighed. "With what money?" she asked, and he shrugged. He walked to the cafe, Homika and Orzhov in tow, sitting at a small three chair table. A waiter, this one human, soon appearing, smile on his face and notepad and pencil in hand.
"Welcome to Virdian Café. Ill be your waiter today. What can I get for you?" he asked, Krom glancing at the menu. "MooMoo Milk will be good." he said, glancing to Homika. "Occa Juice." she said, Orzhov placing the menu down politely. "Nimbasa Lake Water please." he said, smiling kindly. The waiter smiled kindly at Orzhov, writing down their drink orders and heading inside. Krom furrowed his brow, shrugging a second later. "You were oddly kind." he said, looking to Orzhov as he watched the villagers walk about. Orzhov shrugged, his hands folded in his lap. "Simba-sama always taught me to be kind." he said, and Krom chuckled. "Simba always knew how to teach people." he said, Homika scoffing as she lazily looked to her husband.
"How would u know what Simba 'always' did. You've known him for a year." she said, and he chuckled. "Good point Queen Saucy." he said, and she giggled as their drinks arrived. "Can I interest you in a slice of our homemade pastries?" the waiter asked, and Krom glanced to Homika. "No thanks." she said, Krom's eyes lazily moving to Orzhov, who turned it down politely. The waiter looked to him, Krom frowning. "Do you know him or something?" Krom asked, lazy posture belieing friendliness. The waiter shook his head. Krom smiled, tilting his head slightly. "Then why do you keep looking at him?" he asked, and the waiter glanced away. "Me and my friends were really impressed by his performance last night, that's all." he said, and Krom glanced to Homika, who nodded. He laughed, playing it off.
"My apologies. I'm very protective of my son." he said, laughing. The waiter blinked, chuckling. He glanced to Orzhov, sighing. "Know what? Since my wife and son are being prudent, I won't be. Bring me a whole Oran Pie." he said, lightening the conversation as the waiter nodded and headed off. "What was with the suspicion of the waiter of all fucking people?" Homika asked. Krom shrugged. "He gave off an odd vibe. He seemed infatuated with Orzhov." he said, sighing. Homika chuckled. "He was. I sensed it." she said, laughing. Krom shook his head as the pie was placed in front of them, Krom's nostrils flaring at the hot, fruity scent. He nodded his thanks to the waiter, hearing a chuckle before he ate, glancing up to see a Halfling standing in front of him.
The Halfling was tall, not as tall as Krom, but tall nonetheless. His frame was stocky, largely muscle all around. At the base of his hairline was a slight bump, as if a horn were meant to be there. His face was broad and long, his shoulder and arms broad and heavily muscled, his skin holding a golden hue, his light brown hair hiding two long locks of golden hair, more akin to antennae then hair. His tail was thick, but short, and if Krom could guess, he'd assume two tiny wings were hidden under his black shirt. Krom growled slightly, sensing the draconian DNA in the other Halfling. "Can I help you?" Krom asked, his hands moving away from the cooling pie. The Halfling folded his arms, a smug look on his face. "U gonna eat that whole pie yourself?" he asked, and Krom frowned.
"Damn straight I will." he said, and the Halfling snickered. Krom sprang up, his chair falling back with a thud. The Halfling spread his arms, as if inviting Krom to attack him. Before Krom could move however, Orzhov had stood, walking over to the Halfling. He looked up at him, a stern frown on his face. The Halfling looked down at him, a look of boredom on his face. "I'm trying to dine with my family. Could you please leave us alone?" he asked, politely, and the Halfling began to laugh. "Sit down Orzhov." Krom said, the Sneasel Halfling nodding before scurrying to his seat. "Who are you anyway?" Krom asked, a more calm look on his face as he ate the pie. The Halfling grunted. "My name is Nitro." he said, and Homika rose a brow. "Nitro? The Viridian Village Dragonite Halfling who causes more trouble than he's honestly worth?" she asked. Nitro opened his mouth, Krom's body emitting an aura that made him close his mouth as he finished the pie. "Hey waiter, put it on his tab." Krom shouted, turning and heading directly towards Lesnoy's home.
Upon arrival, Krom noticed that the door opened by itself, momentarily forgetting that wood, like the door, was Lesnoy's specialty. The green skinned, elderly man smiled, looking to Orzhov. "Your fight was impressive. That you were able to outmatch two of our most powerful young Halflings says a great deal about you." he said, smile across his aged features. He cast his eyes to Krom. "Why have you come?" he asked, and Krom shrugged. "I've been here for less than a day and I've watched my son fight to the point of exhaustion against two arrogant Nuzleaf. Luckily he won. His victory is causing adults to become infatuated with him, and I had a run in with a Halfling whose known as a troublemaker. Your idea of me blending in is going horribly wrong." he said, and Lesnoy busted out laughing. Krom looked to Homika confused, and she shrugged.
The Venusaur coughed, smiling broadly. "I see you are blending in just fine." he stated, glancing to Homika. "Your husband is quite the character." he said, glancing to Krom. "You did not inflict physical harm to Nitro or The human waiter. I applaud you for that." he said, and Krom folded his arms. "Inflicting bodily harm on someone isn't a way of blending in last time I checked." he said, and Lesnoy laughed again. "Nonsense. If inflicting harm is part of who you are, then please do so. We have plenty of clerics to heal the victims." he said, Krom noting the S on the end of victim. He shrugged. "I'm actually making the decision to leave the village, so I figured I'd let you know." he said, and Lesnoy nodded. "Please, allow my nephew to show you around the remainder of the village. Perhaps you'll enjoy it and return in the future." he stated, and Krom nodded, Lesnoy chuckling.
Krom found it odd that Lesnoy's nephew was a Tropius Halfling, despite the fact that Venusaur and Tropius were near identical in size. "So, how are you related to Lesnoy?" Krom asked, the Tropius Halfling, a male who appeared to be in his mid thirties, chuckled. "Lesnoy's father was human. My mother, Uncle Lesnoy's half sister, was Half Tropius, and my father was a Tropius. Which is why I'm not a Venusaur." he said, and Krom nodded. "Where are you taking me anyway?" Krom asked, and the Tropius laughed. "We've gotten in a few eggs trainers didn't want that produced interesting Pokemon." he said. Krom blinked, looking to Homika, who shrugged. "If the Pokemon are interesting, why would the trainers not want them?" Krom asked, and the Tropius laughed.
"We get them as eggs, so as far as trainers know, its just a random Pokemon. However, there is a chance it's not just a random Pokemon." he said, as they walked into a large building, various people doing paperwork. "What's with all the paperwork?" Krom asked, and the Tropius laughed. "Adoption papers. With bans lifted on Kalosian Pokemon, we've gotten a huge surge of requests from various individuals ranging from spoiled children to professional Pokemon Breeders. Including the esteemed Pewter City gym leader Brock." he said, and Krom perked up at the mention of the next gym leader he had to face. "What kind of Pokemon does Brock want?" Krom asked, receiving a shrug. "The norm. Tyrantrum and Aurorus, two fossil Pokemon from the Kalos region." he stated, and Krom hummed, wondering of he'd face any of these Kalosian Pokemon in gyms.
Making it to the backyard, Krom blinked. The Pokemon here were recognizable, but seemed so different. Krom noticed a familiar face amongst the small horde of random Pokemon. "What are you doing here?" Krom shouted over, ears perking up at his voice. "Well well, if it isn't the Sinnoh Champion." Krom heard, walking over to LT. Surge, the tall man laughing loudly. "How have you been Krom?" he asked, and Krom chuckled, glancing about. "Pretty good. What brings you here?" he asked, Surge casting a glance behind him. "I came looking for a Pokemon that catches my eye. Unfortunately, no one stuck out this time, so I stayed to help take care of them." he said, and Krom smiled. Surge looked to the Tropius Halfling, who never actually introduced himself to Krom, oddly enough "I'll take it from here Zhatva." he said, the Tropius nodding, walking with his hands behind his back, chuckling.
Krom glanced to Zhatva as he walked away, looking back to Surge, who urged him to follow along as he explained what was different about the Pokemon here. "You see, Pokemon come in all shapes and sizes, and that's true in many fashions. There are subspecies to Pokemon, such as river variants, swamp variants and so on. Why would a Golett found at Dragonspiral Tower be identical to a Golett found on Kalos' tenth route?" he explained, kneeling to pet a thin, pale Machop with large green eyes and what seemed to be buttons on it's fingers. "This is Fifty One, a Machop and Elgyem crossbreed." he said, Krom looking at the Pokemon. "Crossbreed?" he asked, Surge laughing as he moved on.
"Yup. Crossbreeds are the natural cross of two Pokemon's DNA, from Pokemon in the same egg groups. Unnatural crosses between Pokemon in different egg groups are called fusions instead, and even less natural than fusions are biological, living horrors known as Splices. Trust me when I say you wanna fight with your eyes closed against them." he said, kneeling in front of a dark gray Espurr with gold bands around its arms and large, blue gray ears. "This is Tomm, with two M's. He is half Shinx, so he is both a psychic and electric type. In battle, his ability would likely be Intimidate like his Luxio father." he said, walking along further. "A second typing?" Krom asked vaguely, and Surge nodded.
"Yes. Single typed Pokemon gain their father's primary type, unless it matches the mother's primary type, in which case the secondary typing is inherited. For example, Pikachu can not inherit the Electric Typing from Elekid, but can inherit the Fairy typing from Dedenne." he said, kneeling to pet a light gray Houndour with an underbite, big cheeks and broad floppy ears. "This is Spice, a Boxer Houndour. Some Crossbreeds have names that identify them, such as Hero Pancham, Boxer Houndoom and Caracal Persian." he said, Krom imaging what these crossbreeds looked like. "However," Surge began, reaching out to High Five a huge hand that fell from the trees. Krom looked up at the large, long faced Ambipom in the tree. "That is a subspecies." he said, giving the monkey a thumbs up before walking on.
"That was a Howler Ambipom. Pure Normal type Ambipom with more non physical offense and the ability Limber. Those Ambipom are from dense rainforest areas where non physical fighting, including moves like Disarming Voice and Hyper Voice, are a necessity in and out of battle." he said, Krom taking in all the interesting information. He noted that Surge stopped, his eyes moving forward to see something white. And Large. "This is what I wanted you to see. This is Big Country." he said, referring to the large white mound in front of them. It rolled into a sitting position, Krom noticing that it was a Snorlax with long white fur. "What is he?" Krom asked. Surge chuckled, rubbing his large, furry belly, pulling a Sitrus berry from his fur and eating it. "Big Country is an Arctic Snorlax. Being an Ice type has a lot of defensive drawbacks, but luckily Big Country has Fur Coat as an ability." he said.
Looking at the large Pokemon, he could understand why it had Fur Coat. "Why did you want me to see this big guy?" Krom asked, reaching out to pet his fur. When he touched him, Big Country looked down at him, tilting his long haired head. "That's why. Big Country's adoption was finalized, and the trainer was a no show. He's scheduled to pick up Big Country in an hour or two, and Lesnoy personally wants you to challenge him for ownership of Big Country." Surge explained, and Krom blinked, looking to the large, slow Pokemon, frowning with determination. "And what's in it for me, other than Big Country?" he asked, and Surge shrugged. "I'm sure the adoption process for your family will be smoother than normal. That's about all I can personally guarantee you." he said, and Krom hummed. "Fine. We'll stay here until my opponent arrives." Krom said, looking to the large Snorlax, who seemed to be purring.
Homika sighed, looking about the field, shaking her head. "How many of these Pokemon would have homes if the trainers cared to hatch their eggs?" she asked, and Krom shrugged. "How many of these Pokemon would have been captured or killed by the Church if they didn't end up here?" he responded, Homika humming in agreement. They looked to Orzhov, who sat in the field with Foxy and Chespin, various Pokemon surrounding him. "He looks happy." Krom said, and Homika smiled. "I'm glad he is." she stated, Krom enjoying his wife's softer side, when it came out that is. Caught up in his thoughts of his wife, he barely noticed Orzhov stand and walk their way. "Surge-sama said that we could adopt Pokemon, right?" he asked, and Homika nodded. Orzhov smiled, Foxy and Chespin walking over with a Timburr, one that seemed a darker brown, with two hairlike crest instead of one.
Orzhov smiled, looking at the Pokemon, then to his parents. "Can I keep him?" he asked, and Krom glanced to Surge. "Surge, what can you tell me about this Timburr?" he asked, and Surge looked at the Timburr, it's squared log smaller than it should be. "Looks like an Ali Timburr to me. They're faster than normal, guaranteed to have the Iron Fist ability, and have a competitive attitude. Since it still has short legs, I'm pretty sure he's a Hitmonchan crossbreed." he stated, walking over to Orzhov. "Got a name for him?" he asked, ruffling through the pockets of his cargo pants for something. Orzhov hummed. "I think Ill name him Sigurd." he said, Krom blinking at the, to him at least, odd name choice. Surge laughed, handing him a Pokeball. Orzhov bopped the Timburr on the head, the Pokeball absorbing him.
After shaking briefly, the ball made a popping noise, symbolizing that the Pokemon inside had been captured. Orzhov smiled, releasing the Pokemon and tucking the ball away in his bag. He laughed, running off to play with his new Pokemon, Krom smiling as he watched him. He glanced to his wife, blinking as he did so. "You've got something in your hair." he said, pointing. Homika blinked, reaching into her hair and feeling about. She felt a large object move up her head, sitting atop her head like a bird atop a tree. She reached up, grabbing the creature by the head and holding. She held it in front of her, blinking at it. What was it? She glanced to Krom, who shrugged.
Krom looked to Surge, who had bags of treats on his shoulders, and then back to the furry mouse. "Hey Surge, what's this thing?" he asked, Surge tossing one of the bags to Krom, who caught it with ease. "Feed the small group of canid crossbreeds. I'll explain it as we go along." he said, Krom laughing as he headed into the direction of the small pack of canid crossbreeds. "That is a Mini Raichu Pichu. It got that name from it's Raichu like appearance. Normally around ten inches tall and five pounds, they are Pichu and Dedenne crossbreeds. That means that, throughout it's life and evolutionary process, it will be part Fairy type and have the Cheek Pouch ability, which allows it to recover from berries more than other Pokemon would." he said, glancing to the one in Homika's arms. "That particular one is unnamed. Name him and you can keep him." he said, looking to Krom, who had treats spread out amongst a group of canid crossbreeds.
"That's an odd rule." Krom stated, Surge laughing. "And dangerous. It also goes with Children as well. You name one of the nameless orphans, even jokingly, and you have a new child." he said, and Krom blinked. "And if they refuse to take the child?" he asked, Surge laughing. "Let's just say it doesn't happen often. People are normally warned not to name people and Pokemon. Those that do and refuse to take the child home are killed, plain and simple. Lesnoy says if you don't want to keep something, live or not, don't name it aloud." he said, and Krom hummed. Homika looked at the Pokemon, identical to Dedenne save for its ears, tiny tail, and red cheeks, and sighed. "I'll take it." she said, setting the Pokemon atop her head, the Pokemon sending an electric charge through Homika, whose own Thunderbolt flew into the mouse, who began rubbing it's cheeks. Surge laughed. "Got a name for him?" he asked, and Homika shrugged. "I'll name him Slipknot. We can call him Sloppy." she said, and Surge laughed, nodding as he glanced towards the entrance of the village.
He looked to Krom. "Sounds like your opponent is here." he said, and Krom stood still, watching as Surge cleared all the Pokemon from the vicinity. Surge walked towards the individual, who Krom looked up and down. He was obviously wealthy, his suit wrinkleless and new. His hair, an odd shade of blonde that made Krom frown, was slicked back, his thin, pasty fingers covered in jewelry, which Krom immediately began to calculate the worth of. "He's wearing at least fifty grand in jewelry on his hands." Krom said to Homika, the woman raising her brow and looking to her young husband. "You plan on killing him?" she asked, and he shrugged. "Depends. If I hate his voice and attitude, then of course." he said, the man talking to Surge, his plain brown eyes locking with Krom's own Crimson orbs.
Krom sighed. Am I really about to possibly kill a man because Lesnoy said so? What justification is there? I can make money selling his rings? He thought, shaking his head. "Who is that near my Snorlax?" he said, and Krom rolled his eyes. Surge chuckled. "Anthony, meet Krom. Krom, Anthony." he said, and Krom looked from Surge to his opponent. "Nice ta meet you. Name's Krom Hitoawa." he said, and stuck his hand out. His opponent looked down and frowned. Krom smiled. "You better shake my motherfucking hand before I use it to shake your head off your shoulders." he said, and the rich boy frowned, reluctantly shaking his hand. "I'll ask you again Surge. What is he doing near my Snorlax?" he asked, and Surge laughed. "You see, Lesnoy doesn't like people who miss pick up dates without a decent reason." he said, and Krom inhaled. This is it. If I don't like his response, Lesnoy was right in having me battle him. Krom thought as Anthony opened his mouth.
"I was attending to more important matters." he said. Krom blinked. "What could be more important?" Krom asked, and he laughed. He held his hand out. Krom noticed an extravagant ring on his middle finger, made of gold and a large, multicolored stone. "This, as you can see, is an extremely rare jewel known as a Sceptilite. The Mega Stone for my Partner is more important than a new Pokemon." he said, and Krom hummed. "So instead of taking Big Country and then getting your stupid stone, you picked a rock over him?" Krom asked. He shrugged. Lesnoy was right after all. "That doesn't fly with me. I, Krom Hitoawa formally challenge you to a battle for ownership of Big Country the Arctic Snorlax, as per my own want, and at the request of Chief Lesnoy of Viridian Village." he said, and Anthony frowned.
Surge laughed. "You forfeit ownership of the Pokemon if you refuse." he said, and Anthony frowned. "Very well. I accept your challenge. One on one?" he asked, and Krom nodded in agreement, wondering which of his Pokemon to use. He thought about Cernunnos, but if Anthony used the Sceptile with the Mega Stone, he'd be at a disadvantage. He shook his head, conflicted.
Arceus groaned as he recovered from his defeat at the hands of the Oozaru slowly. Reshiram was with him, the goddess laughing at his weakened state. "The mighty Arceus brought down by a mere monkey." she said, laughing. Arceus cast a glare in her direction. "Be quiet and fetch me those wretched Dark Pokemon for me." he said, and Reshiram nodded, laughing as she flew off to do his bidding.
Krom sighed, reaching for Cernunnos' Pokeball when he heard a giggle. He glanced behind him to see Kooky rubbing his blade like hands together. "Kooky, u wanna have a go at him?" he asked, and Kooky giggled, thrilled. The Pawniard leaped over, standing in front of Krom, his mask, as always, gone. Anthony scoffed at Kooky. "You should put a helmet on, your face isn't pleasant." he said, tossing a Pokeball, a tall, proud Sceptile shouting upon release. The Pokemon looked down at Kooky, chuckling. Kooky looked up at his tall foe, throwing his head back and erupting in berserk laughter. Krom wasn't expecting it, and blinked. Kooky leaped forward, not waiting for Krom to command him, the Zekrom shaking his head at the Pawniard.
"Sceptile, you can handle this alone!" Anthony called out confidently, The Sceptile giving him a thumbs up as he leaped away from Kooky, who came down with an Iron Head. Spinning, Kooky laughed at the Sceptile as he charged it. The Sceptile vanished, his speed far superior to Kooky's. The Sceptile reappeared next to Kooky, throwing his left leg out with Low Kick. Kooky leaped up, avoiding the kick, slicing the Pokemon's chest, the Sceptile reacting instinctively with a Brick Break. Kooky used Protect, the barrier shielding him from the blow, his ball like barrier bouncing across the ground. He broke the Barrier, his body and armor shinning as he used Iron Defense. Landing on his feet, he shook, clapping his knives together as he jumped about, feeling the power increase as he continued his Swords Dance.
The Sceptile charged, Kooky charging at the same time. The Sceptile opened its mouth, launching an Energy Ball that Kooky cut in half with Night Slash, leaping over a second and rolling around a third, sensing the Sceptile behind him as he rolled. The Sceptile had his hands clasped, Kooky cursing as he saw the Focus Blast between his palms. Using Guillotine, Kooky extended his knives and spun as fast as he could, the Sceptile leaping away and throwing the ball of condensed energy at Kooky, the Pawniard able to roll away, shielding his eyes from the dirt and grass the resulting explosion caused. Kooky leaped into the air, slamming his foot into the Sceptile's stomach, rolling and driving the Sceptile towards the ground, Kooky lifting his blades to drive them into the Sceptile, who panicked and unleashed a Dragon Pulse, Kooky kicking away from the gecko to avoid the attack.
The Sceptile landed, looking to Anthony and screaming, the blonde nodding. He pulled his ring off, tossing it to the Sceptile and pulling another ring from his pocket to replace the previous one. This ring had a rainbow stone on it, one he touched as Sceptile caught the ring. The Pokemon erupted in light as the rainbow stone emitted a light that struck the Sceptile, the geckos appearance changing as Kooky breathed deeply, healing himself slowly. When the light dispersed, the newly Mega Evolved Gecko screamed, a roar that Krom paid attention to, as it sounded Draconian. He noticed the large spores on the Sceptile's back, and its red ringed tail, which now had a full fledged tree on it, amongst other physical changes. Anthony smirked, and Krom looked to Kooky, who burst out in another round of berserk laughter.
Arceus looked to the pair of Pokemon before him. A Weavile, arms folded with a toothpick between its teeth, stood next to a large Honchkrow, the bird watching Arceus carefully."Vile and Capone. Do you know why I have called you here?" he asked, Vile snickering. "Obviously to fulfill some task you can't complete yourself." he said, and Arceus growled. Capone laughed. "What is it you want us to look for ehh?" he questioned, trying to distract Arceus from Vile's, well, vile attitude. "I have called you to find the Sacred Treasure." he said, and Vile dropped the toothpick from his teeth. "Really? Have any idea where it is?" he asked, and Arceus shook his head. "If I knew, what makes you think that I would ask you wretches instead of Reshiram?" he asked, and Vile shrugged. Capone sighed. "Very Well Master, we will deploy all our forces to find the Sacred Treasure as fast as we can." he stated, and Arceus smiled.
"Good. Now begone." he said, the duo dispersing. Vile looked to Capone. "Always kissing his ass I see." he stated, and Capone sighed. "Even combined, we stand no chance against him, so fugedaboutit and get looking." he said, the Weavile snickering and turning away in response.
Kooky groaned as he slid back, ducking under another Low Kick, the mega evolved gecko's tail grinding against the ground and striking him, the Sceptile slamming a Thunder Punch into his right temple, sending him flying, spinning and landing on his feet. Kooky spun, sensing the Sceptile behind him, flipping back away from multiple volleys of Bullet Seed. Leaping up, he noticed the smug look on the Sceptile's face, as the spores on his back shot off, Kooky cursing as he used Protect, the volley of spores exploding around him with more force than expected. He cursed as the smoke faded along with his barrier, hearing the Sceptile scream as he shot his tail off, the tail spinning at high speed, slamming into Kooky and grinding against his chest as he flew higher and higher into the air.
Anthony scoffed, looking to Krom. "Looks like I win. Step away from my Snorlax." he said, and Krom blinked. "Until that Pawniard is unable to stand and fight, Big Country belongs to no one." Krom said, laughing as he looked into the air. Anthony growled, clenching his fist. "Don't be absurd. That last attack likely sent your little Pawniard into space!" he shouted. Krom shrugged. "Battle goes on until he comes down." he said, and Anthony growled. "Fine. Sceptile, use Swords Dance so that you can end this when that Pawniard comes down." he said, the Sceptile's arm leaves extending as it danced about. However, the increase in offense gained by adrenaline wasn't present, and Anthony became confused. "What's wrong Sceptile?" he asked, concerned.
Kooky slashed at the tree as fast as he could, preventing fatal damage while destroying it. Panting, he noticed how far he traveled. He cursed, wondering what he should do as he came down. He laughed, feeling the power increase from Snatch, a move that allowed him to steal the power gained from his opponent's techniques. He rolled in air as he began to fell, coming down head first. He wore no helmet, so he'd have to change position before he slammed into the ground and broke his neck. He began to feel warm as he gained speed, hoping he didn't end up going so fast it burned him to a crisp. As he flew threw the clouds, he inhaled deeply, feeling the rush of cold air and moisture from the cloud, seeing trees at the edge of his vision. The trees grew and spread as he descended, Kooky's eyes strained to see the Sceptile, who stood tall and victorious, or so he thought.
Kooky spun away from the battlefield, slamming into a patch of grass a small ways away. He tunneled through the ground with Dig, sensing the huge presence of a Mega Evolved Pokemon as he tunneled. He also sensed another huge presence, but he ignored it as he stopped beneath the gecko. He was between the Pokemon's legs, giggling silently as he shot up, piercing the flesh of the Pokemon's crotch, burrowing into the center of the Pokemon's stomach as he felt the Pokemon collapse. He giggled as he positioned himself.
Anthony screamed in shock and horror as he ran towards his Sceptile, who collapsed while spewing blood. A screech was heard, and Anthony collapsed to his knees as he realized that the screech came from inside his Sceptile. The Sceptile's stomach distended as something moved around inside the dead gecko, pressing against it's stomach. The Pokemon's stomach burst, Kooky popping his head out from the hole, looking about. He smiled at Krom, erupting in laughter at his trainer's smile. He crawled out, glancing at his blood soaked figure, giggling madly.
Krom sighed, giving Kooky a thumbs up as Surge handed him Big Country's Pokeball. He walked over to the sleeping Pokemon, who groaned as he rolled into a sitting position, looking at Krom. He reached out, patting Krom's head as Krom out him back in his Pokeball with a smile. He looked to Anthony, whom Krom didn't consider worth possibly killing anymore. He began to walk away, hearing Anthony reach into his pocket and pull something out, Krom glancing over to him. He noticed that he held a firearm, something he wasn't acquainted with. He rolled his eyes. "I'm going to find Homika and Orzhov. I didn't notice them walk away." he said, Kooky looking to Anthony. He tilted his head, blinking. Well, he could use another mask.
Finding Homika and Orzhov at a small vendor, he glanced at the vendor's wares as he spoke. "You didn't tell me you weren't gonna watch my battle." he said, picking up a small wristband with a Bulbasaur on it. Homika shrugged. "I wanted to go shopping before we left." she said, looking at a pair of socks with a Grimer face on them. He sighed. "Typical woman." he mumbled. He noticed Orzhov was nearby at the Café talking to their waiter. Krom glanced to Homika, who rolled her eyes. "He wanted to thank the waiter for flattering him." he said, noticing Orzhov take the pen and notepad from the waiter. "Oh, and give out his autograph." he said, and Krom began to laugh as he purchased a small magnet in the shape of a lightning bolt.
Shopping done, clothing gathered, Krom closed the door to their cabin, turning to see Birisu standing there, the feline with Mallary at his side. "Mastah, I have a favor to ask of you." he stated, and Krom blinked, nodding for him to continue. "I would like to personally adopt miss Mallary here." he said, and Krom blinked. "Fine with me. It's Lesnoy you have to deal with." he said, and the feline nodded. "If anything goes wrong, come get me. We're leaving." he said, Birisu nodding and bowing in respect. Krom smiled at Mallary as he walked away, heading towards the northern exit of the village, in the direction of Pewter City. They ran into Surge, who laughed as he encountered them.
"On your way already?" he asked, and Krom chuckled. "Yeah. I'm eager to battle Brick and see what Pewter City has to offer." he said, making Surge chuckle. "There's a man in that city whose rumored to teach your Pokemon Seismic Toss, but only Brock knows who he is." he said, Krom's interest piqued. "Sounds like something I need to check out." he stated. Surge smiled. "Don't have too much of a hard time against Brock, or you won't enjoy the rest of the region." he said, and Krom chuckled. "I'm sure I'll enjoy a challenge." he said, waving to Surge as they departed. Homika looked to Krom. "You better be careful in Pewter. I heard Brock is a frightening fucker." she said, and he glanced to her, brows raised.
"Brock? No, he seemed so nice when I met him." Krom said, and Homika laughed. "He's a nice guy if you're the right person. Pewter actually had to upgrade their Pokemon Center because of the amount of Pokemon Brock has hospitalized." she said, and Krom glanced to the Pokeballs on his belt. He sighed, walking on further.
Simba sighed, walking through the cold, frozen area far north of Snowpoint city. He trudged through snow that was almost waist deep, the Halfling thankful for his fur in this situation. He began to feel warmth, looking ahead to the huge wall of permafrost, hundreds of feet tall and likely at least fifty feet thick. He shook his head, seeing something in the distance. As he trudged forward, he began to hear thudding noises, as if something was hitting the wall. Slowly seeing a figure form, Simba chuckled. "Hey!" he called, the thudding ceasing as he closed in. He saw Rafiki look over, his dark features unchanging. "It's almost time for you to go." he said, the baboon ignoring him. "At least show me what you can do." he said, stamping his foot, blowing away the sun to form a pseudo arena for him and the baboon. Rafiki growled at him, clenching his fists as he faced him. The duo charged, the baboon cracking a smile.
