Ladies and Gentlemen, I have returned! After many eventful things happened, and six, SIX months have passed, I have come byke! I hope you enjoy, as this chapter came off as so difficult I went on a half year hiatus. For all of my supporters, viewers, reviewers, followers and favorite-rs, I thank you deeply. The increasing support is what kicked my motivation byke in and I do hope this is at least kind of worth the wait! Thank you all dearly, Jiro 'The Father of Halflings' Uchiha, One Twisted Fuck Inc.
Krom watched someone walk from the back room, a surly fellow with scruff on his face and broad shoulders. Donned in a casual outfit of black slacks and a white collared shirt, the man stood off to the side and inhaled. He whistled rather loudly, a scrawny referee running from the back, seeming extremely nervous as he stood on the middle of the field, bowing as he looked at the two titans on opposite sides of the field, able to almost see the raw power radiating off of them, the typhoon of energy he visualized swirling around them causing sweat to drip from his brow. The surly man in the stand exhaled. "Ladies and Gentlemen, and Children of All Ages! Welcome to the Kanto League Network! For you today we have a very special treat, a full power Gym Battle!" the man screamed, Krom looking to the opposite side of the gym to notice a camera crew, something he found odd.
Kanto League Network? You mean that pay to watch service where you see Gym Leaders crush novices? He wondered, glancing back to the surly man as he continued to speak. "Since this is a Full Power Gym Battle, everyone watching at home is in for quite the spectacle today, and us of the Kanto League Network would like to take a second to thank the millions watching at home!" he declared, and Krom rose a brow. Millions? Were people actually paying to see his Gym Battles worldwide? I could make some damn good money if I did something like this. He thought chuckling to himself as the surly man inhaled once more.
"Firstly we introduce the challenger! Fighting out of Pinwheel Village, we have a man who is known worldwide, his name spreading from region to region like wildfire! A man who has done battle with Gods and come out on top! A ruthless trainer with a sense of humor! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Unova and Sinnoh region Champion, 'The Electrifying' Krom Hitoawa!" The man bellowed, Krom raising his own hand, being reminded of something akin to a wrestling match. He smiled, imaging millions of people cheering him on in this battle, his wives and children included. The man himself nodded to Krom before turning in Brock's direction.
"And Now, we introduce the Gym Leader! Born and raised, and fighting out of Pewter City, we have a man who's power knows no bounds! A Rock Hard researcher who's discoveries and studies in the archeological field are only matched by his brute power and toned muscles! A man who has gone undefeated for TWO HUNDRED YEARS! Ladies and Gentlemen, People, Pokemon and Halflings, I give you The First Kanto League Gym Leader, 'The Great One' Brock of Pewter!" he called loudly, the man's impressive, booming voice conveying such emotion Krom could tell it wasn't forged for the introductions. "This will be a six on six match, and it is for the Kanto League's Pewter City Gym Badge! Will both Trainer's please send out their first Pokemon!" the man called, Krom reaching onto his hip and exhaling. Good luck. He said in his head, tossing the ball out onto the field.
The ball popped open, black energy releasing as it hit the ground, morphing as Cernunnos took shape, the Trevenant calling out loudly as it prepared to face it's foe. Brock's own PokeBall opened, a mass of energy releasing as it slowly took shape. The monster threw it's head back, Krom recognizing the green scales and kaiju like appearance. A Tyranitar, huh? Looks like I have a partial advantage. He thought noticing that while Cernunnos' Grass beat Tyranitar's Rock, the kaiju's Dark typing beat Cernunnos' Ghost typing. "The beginning match is Tyranitar, one of Brock's favorite Pokemon, against Trevenant, from the Kalos region, a region that has recently joined the United Pokemon League thanks to Krom's own efforts! A rather impressive matchup! We go to the referee to start the match!" the man declared, the scrawny referee gulping as his hand went up into the air, quivering slightly.
"B-Begin!" he called, throwing his arm down as Tyranitar shouted, sand erupting from it's body as a sandstorm whipped up around them, obscuring Krom's vision ever so slightly. Orzhov mentioned the defensive boost Rock, Ground, and Steel types received under these conditions. Being able to summon it at will is rather annoying. Krom thought, Brock lifting his arm and casting it forward. "Tyranitar, Dark Pulse!" he called, the duo rather in tune as the kaiju launched the flurry of dark rings in the tree's direction. "Dodge it!" Krom called, the tree sliding away, following up with an Energy Ball in each fist, tossing them in the Kaiju's direction. "Crunch!" Brock called, the Tyranitar's canines glowing a bright white as it came down, catching both Energy Balls in it's jaws, simply clamping down on them like a jawbreaker, seeming to take no damage at all. Bastard's actually pretty strong. Krom thought, throwing his arm up as the sandstorm continued to blow throughout the building.
"Tyranitar, Fire Punch!" Brock called, the kaiju roaring before running forward, balling up one of it's oddly small fists as flames erupted, coating the hand and wrist as he closed in. "Cernunnos, Protect!" Krom called, the Trevenant throwing his arms out to the front, summoning a barrier to protect itself as the Tyranitar threw it's flame cloaked right hand forward, colliding with the barrier. "Drop the barrier and use Power Up Punch!" Krom called, the tree's barrier vanishing, causing the Tyranitar to stumble forward as the glowing left fist of Cernunnos came down, an overhand left that struck the kaiju in the jaw. "Don't let up! Follow up with X-Scissor!" he called, the ghost tree's arms glowing a bright blue as it came down, both arms slamming into the Tyranitar and knocking it to the ground. "Keep going! Energy Ball!" Krom called, the tree somehow filled with adrenaline as it placed both it's hands out front, forming two large green balls of energy. "Ice Beam!" Brock called, and the kaiju rolled around the Energy Balls, launching a white beam from it's maw.
Cernunnos instinctively tried to dodge, but wasn't fast enough, his left arm being struck and frozen solid as he stumbled back. Krom cursed as he watched the Tyranitar rise back to it's feet. "Tyranitar, use Crunch!" Brock called, the kaiju throwing it's head back and roaring before running forward, teeth glowing a bright white. Krom's mind raced, trying to think of something to do. He blinked. "Cernunnos, Phantom Force!" he called, the tree nodding as he forgot about his frozen arm, vanishing into thin air as the Tyranitar's jaws clamped down, barely missing. The large green beast's fangs remained white as it swung it's long, thick neck around, as if trying to find the injured Trevenant. "Strike!" Krom called, the tree Pokemon coming from above, slamming it's large body into the kaiju, knocking it over as Krom clenched his fist.
"Don't let up! Energy Ball!" he called, the tree's hands glowing as balls of energy formed, the Trevenant slamming it's hands on the sides of the Tyranitar's face, using it's root like legs to pin the monster to the ground. Jumping back, the tree watched the dust and dirt fly about in the air in the resulting explosion, it's wooden shoulders moving up and down as it glanced to it's still frozen arm. "Use Power Up Punch on the ice Cernunnos!" Krom called, the tree's right hand glowing as it swung down at the ice on it's arm. "Pay attention to your opponent Krom!" Brock shouted, Krom hesitating as he realized that the dust still hadn't cleared, the raging sandstorm still obscuring his vision slightly. "Tyranitar, Aerial Ace!" Brock called, and Krom's heart skipped a beat, his head craning up as he saw the kaiju descend from above, Cernunnos unable to move before the beast flipped in the air, slamming it's tail into Cernunnos' head and driving him to the ground, a crater forming underneath him as he flipped off.
The Tyranitar bounced back and forth, his legs moving much more fluently than Krom thought possible. Cernunnos placed his hands on the ground, struggling to get up as the wood from his head began to chip away, his red eyes going dull before he fell forward, unconscious. "Cernunnos the Trevenant is unable to battle! Brock leads 5-6!" the referee called as Krom returned Cernunnos to his PokeBall. He grit his teeth as he looked down at the tree. You did well. I'm proud of you, for being such a young Pokemon. He said, smiling as he pulled the next PokeBall from his waist, exhaling. "Acheron, let's do this!" He called, the old, sage like Absol landing silently in front of himself. Brock rose a brow. "Using a Dark Type Pokemon against my Tyranitar? Are you sure about this?" he asked, and Acheron frowned, lifting his front right paw and slamming it down, the shockwave blowing away the sandstorm instantly.
"I do not dare underestimate any of my opponents. I am far too old to make a foolish mistake such as this. So come, face me with your full power!" Acheron proclaimed, the ancient Absol not about to be taken lightly. Brock smiled, nodding as he exhaled. "Tyranitar, full power!" Brock called, and the Tyranitar called out, a loud, echoing roar that sent shockwaves through the building, causing Krom to slide back slightly, something the young trainer wasn't expecting. An odd, dark brown light covered the kaiju as it's body began to morph. First, it's brow ridge jutted forward and curved back as a single horn erupted from it's head, as it's chest jutted forward, six wing like spikes flying out at it's back, the pattern on it's chest much more akin to the face of a Pupitar, it's knees growing in density as small horns erupted from it's knees as well. The light vanished, the Tyranitar roaring once more as an odd, rainbow colored DNA symbol appeared above it's head.
Red stomach, bigger, likely more powerful in all aspects… but why the larger number of holes in it's armor around the neck? Krom wondered, inhaling as the referee held his arm up. "Begin!" he called as he brought his arm down, Krom wasting no time. "Acheron, Fire Blast!" he commanded, Acheron nodding as he rolled his neck, flames erupting from his felid jaws in the shape of a kanji as they sped towards the Tyranitar, striking it directly. The flames flew around the Mega Evolved kaiju, stray sparks hitting Brock's flesh as a large, orange shadow was cast over the gym leader. Krom cursed. It's not doing anything. He's just standing and taking it. He thought, watching the Tyranitar's face form into a scowl. "Acheron, switch things up and use Slash!" he called, the Disaster Pokemon nodding as it sped forward, jumping into the air as it's claws grew in size and glowed a bright white. Acheron came down with his left paw, striking the Tyranitar in the skull and bouncing off, no damage being dealt.
Krom narrowed his eyes at the massive defensive ability of the beast. "Acheron, X-Scissor!" he called, hoping that the move's advantage over the Tyranitar would prompt it into action. Acheron ran forward, scanning the beast for any weak spots, locking on on the new holes in it's armor as it jumped up, it's claws glowing a bright blue as it came down. "Smack Down!" Brock called, the Tyranitar baring it's teeth as it's slammed it's horn into Acheron's face, slamming the feline to the ground. Acheron grunted, glaring up at the Tyranitar. "You seem to be massively underestimating me Krom. I told you Birisu's non physically offensive form would be able to defeat my whole team, and yet you bring a greenhorn Trevenant and an Absol past it's prime?" he asked, Acheron narrowing his eyes as he stood. He looked back to Krom, his claws digging into the ground as he grit his teeth. "Let me handle this myself." he said, turning to Brock. "I might be old, but I am far from past my prime, and far from my full power. I chose to hold back when I realized your Tyranitar didn't trigger it's Sand Stream upon Mega Evolution." he stated, and Brock rose a brow.
"So you've noticed? And you think you can best Tyranitar in his natural weather conditions?" he quizzed, and Acheron nodded. "Of course. I have not lived for centuries to be outdone by an upstart Mega Evolution." he said, and Brock laughed. "Have it your way. Tyranitar, have fun!" he called, and the kaiju threw it's head back, grunting loudly as sand erupted from the holes in it's armor, whipping around the gym at high speeds as a second sandstorm came to life. The beast roared, running forward with electricity cackling from it's fangs, Acheron using Detect to dodge the attack before using Crunch to latch onto the Tyranitar's head horn, biting down hard enough to cause the kaiju to grunt as it clenched it's fists. The Tyranitar glowed a golden color before electricity erupted from it's body, causing Acheron to grunt as he shouted, releasing the Tyranitar as he fired an Ice Beam that struck the Tyranitar in the face, freezing half of his skull as the Absol pulled his head back and fired a Razor Wind that cracked the ice and knocked the Tyranitar back slightly, Acheron running forward with his horn glowing, slamming it into the Tyranitar's chest and shoving it back.
"Come at me you oversized lizard!" Acheron shouted, the Tyranitar roaring as it punched the ground, stones rising from the ground as stones began to fall from the sky from an unknown location or source, Acheron leaping onto the large stone spires that came from the ground, running towards the Tyranitar and launching a Dark Pulse, the dark rings pelting the Tyranitar, doing little damage. "Rocks from multiple directions? Pathetic! You're a Tyranitar! What happened to the mountain destroying fists your ancestors had!?" He screamed, goading the kaiju into attacking him, the insults seeming to work, the beast bee lining for Acheron, flames coating it's fists as Acheron smiled. Throwing a right cross, Acheron ducking under the attack and slamming his head into the kaiju, who grunted as he slid back, slamming his other fist into Acheron's right shoulder, opening his hand and grabbing the Absol by the arm and tossing him across the gym, watching the white feline crash into the ceiling, dirt and dust flying out almost like an explosion.
"Acheron!" Krom called, concerned for the Absol, who seemed to have been injured. When the dust cleared, Acheron was upside own, his claws digging into the ceiling to keep him stable. He panted, smiling as he rolled his neck. "This was fun. However, I cannot continue to entertain myself with you. There are other battles to win." he said, his claws glowing as they seemed to become sharpened, the feline crouching down before launching himself forward, spinning in air as his forearms began to glow a bright blue color as he closed in, the Tyranitar's scowl turning into a smile. Throwing his arms forward, the Tyranitar used Protect, forming a barrier around itself that Acheron's claws slammed into, making him scoff as he pressed forward, driving the kaiju back as he seemed to struggle holding the barrier up. Behind the barrier, the Tyranitar's horn began to glow, signaling it's usage of the move Brick Break, something that made Acheron hesitate as the energy faded from his claws.
However his many years of experience allowed him to think fast, using the move Me First to use the move both first and stronger, the horn on his own head glowing as he swung his neck, slashing the Tyranitar in the chest as he sped around it, not letting up his assault, seeing the Tyranitar stumbling. His body began to glow a dull red as he felt his muscles increase in size and density, leaping at the kaiju as it turned around, pouncing on it using Superpower and throwing his head back, launching a rather large Hyper Beam in the kaiju's face that vaulted him into the air. He rolled, exhaling as he landed silently by Krom, the dust and dirt clearing from the air to reveal the Tyranitar unconscious, his body flashing as his transformation reverted.
"Tyranitar is unable to battle! The match is now tied 5-5!" the referee called as Brock smiled, returning the Pokemon as the sandstorm in the gym faded. "I'm rather impressed by your abilities." Brock said to Acheron, the Absol smirking through labored breaths. "There's more where that came from." he responded, Krom looking to the Absol, who's right shoulder was visibly damaged, the shape all wrong to his eyes. "Acheron, why don't you rest and let someone else take over for a while?" he asked, and the Absol looked back to him, his crimson eyes locked with Krom's own. "I will fight until I am either dead or unconscious. Do not let my injuries worry you. All you must do is pray for my safety. If you do that, I will take care of the rest." he said, nodding to Krom as he stepped forward, watching the next PokeBall fly through the air and pop open, the familiar stream of blue energy releasing a Pokemon Krom was familiar with from his battle with Cynthia, if you could call it that. Acheron exhaled. "Do not hold back! Allow this Garchomp to Mega Evolve immediately!" he called, the Gym Leader seeming both amused and perplexed by the determination of the feline.
"Very well then. Garchomp, use your full power and run wild!" he called, the Garchomp's eyes widening as it screamed, the same familiar light coming over it's body as it began to morph, becoming taller, it's legs becoming almost more humanoid as spikes erupted from it's thighs, it's chest pattern taking a shape almost akin to a suit as spikes erupted around it's chest, it's small clawed hands fusing with the wrist fins it possessed, turning into large scythes as it's jaw jutted out, becoming extremely pronounced, an extra notch appearing in it's back fin as the light faded, a loud, guttural roar ringing out as a shockwave blew past them, Krom's hair flying back as he exhaled. The referee cleared his throat. "Begin!" he called, the two Pokemon rushing at each other and simply crashing against each other. "You seem slow, Land Shark. Surely after two hundred years you've negated the speed reduction your species suffers upon Mega Evolution?" he asked, and the beast's jaw twisted into a smile as it vanished, much to Krom's surprise.
Appearing behind Acheron, it came down with one of it's scythe like hands, Acheron whirling around and parrying with his head horn, the intense force of the land shark's claw bearing down on his injured shoulder. While focusing on this, Acheron made the mistake of not paying attention to his opponent, the Garchomp able to launch a Dragon Pulse at point blank range that struck Acheron in the head and shoulder, the force causing him to bounce off the ground into the air, where the Garchomp followed and slammed into him, knocking him into the air further as he regained his balance and launched an Ice Beam that missed, the Garchomp moving faster than the Absol could attack, appearing behind him and rolling, striking him with his tail glowing green as he slammed into the ground, a cloud of dirt and dust erupting as the Garchomp landed.
Krom cursed, hoping that Acheron was alright. When the dust cleared, the Absol stood defiant. "N-not yet. I can still…." he trailed off, wobbling as he took a step forward. He placed his right paw down, hissing at the pain before falling to the left, unable to stand again. "Acheron the Absol is unable to battle! Brock leads 4-5!" the referee called as Krom recalled Acheron to his PokeBall. "You did well Acheron. I'm proud." he said, noticing Homika walk over to him. "Homika! I didn't notice you there." he said, and she rolled her eyes. "Course you didn't. You're an idiot." she quipped, and Krom laughed. "Give me Cernunnos and Acheron. I'll take them to the PokeCenter to get healed so they have extra time to rest while you slug it out with Old Hardhead over there." she said, watching her husband pull the two PokeBalls from his hip. "Take good care of them. I'll send Orzhov with the next pair if I get pushed down to my last two Pokemon." he said, and she nodded, departing with the PokeBalls in her possession.
Krom turned back to Brock, inhaling as he pulled a PokeBall from his waist. "I hope you're ready Brock. I'm not gonna pull any punches any more." he said, and Brock laughed. "I would hope not. This is much too fun for either of us to hold back." he said, and Krom chuckled, nodding in agreement as he sent out his third Pokemon. The ball popped open, blue energy and a light puff of smoke being released as the Pokemon took shape, exhaling as he looked across the field to the land shark before glancing to Brock and bowing. "Greetings Master Brock. It is an honor fi mi fi affi chance fi battle you." Birisu said, his accent thick as ever. Brock chuckled, nodding his head. "The feeling is mutual. It's not often that I get to battle a Mewtwo, much less one capable of Mega Evolution." he said, and Birisu smiled as the referee cleared his throat, lifting his hand. "Begin!" he called, neither Pokemon making a move. Krom found it odd, but noticed that both Pokemon were sizing each other up, as if gauging each other's capabilities. Suddenly, they both shot forward, releasing a sonic boom that knocked the referee off his feet, Orzhov being forced to use Protect to stay standing. The two collided, slamming their hard heads together, a shockwave ringing out that seemed to shake the foundation of the rather large building. They backed up, shooting forward again.
Colliding again, the two shot into the air, Garchomp's jaw glowing a bright white as he came forward, clamping his jaws as Birisu floated back, throwing a left Ice Punch the Garchomp avoided, coming down with both of his scythe like claws, both glowing green, Birisu using Protect to stop the Dragon Claw as the two hit the ground again, Birisu launching an Aura Sphere that the Garchomp leaped over, Birisu blitzing forward and using Iron Tail, striking the land shark in the head as he bounced off the ground, rolling in air to parry another Ice punch with his left scythe, his right one coming in an upward angle from left to right, knocking Birisu back as he went for another Crunch, the land shark striking Birisu's left shoulder, causing the feline to curse as he grabbed the shark in a bear hug, tossing him overhead as he launched an Ice Beam, striking the chiseled jawed shark as he spun in air, the ice that formed on his chest weighing him down, allowing Birisu to shoot forward and use Zen Headbutt, stunning him as he used Ice Punch, striking the land shark in the jaw, a left Fire Punch coming in the shark's direction from below, the dragon's only response being a Fire Blast directly in front of him, Birisu able to easily dodge the attack.
The attack struck the ground, the heat melting the ice on his chest, allowing the shark to roll his shoulder and breath a sigh of relief as the duo locked eyes, both smiling as they continued to size each other up. "I'm rather impressed that you can keep up with my Garchomp. I've trained him to move up to three times the speed of sound." Brock stated, and Birisu chuckled as he stalked around, the two Pokemon walking in a circle, their eyes locked to detect the slightest hint of movement. "My top speed is only achievable in my smaller transformation. You'd be lucky if your Garchomp could even see mi pon that form." he said, making Brock raise a brow. "I see you have the same determined stubbornness your trainer has." he said, Birisu nodding as the Garchomp inhaled, roaring as his stomach swelled slightly before he launched a massive orange ball of energy into the sky, which exploded and spread out, beginning to rain down in all directions. The Garchomp narrowed it's eyes and continued it's assault.
Birisu floated into the air, dodging the energy balls, recognizing the Draco Meteor as he sensed the Garchomp coming from behind. He spun around, using Iron Tail to block a Dragon Claw, the hardening of his flesh preventing any injury, his tail moving forward and wrapping around the land shark's right wrist, pulling him closer as Birisu slammed two Ice Punches into the dragon type's temples, grunting as a flurry of the meteors hit him in the back, his grip slipping as the Garchomp capitalized, using Crunch and clamping down on Birisu's arm, the pseudo-legendary's teeth piercing the flesh on his right forearm as the dragon spun and tossed him into the ground as the final flurry of meteor like energy balls struck him, causing him to grind against the ground, sliding into and slamming against the wall behind Krom. "Birisu!" Krom called, worried for the safety of his Pokemon.
Dust flew about, and Krom narrowed his eyes, trying to see through the dust to no avail. Suddenly, a blur erupted from the cloud, slamming directly into the Garchomp and knocking it back. The land shark shook it's head, smiling as he looked at his opponent, seeing his increased stature and longer limbs, his cobalt eyes staring at him, his more pronounced brow furrowed in anger as the two floated down to the ground before Birisu turned to the side. He lifted his right hand up to be level with his pectoral muscles, his left fist balled up near his waist as he bent his legs slightly, the Garchomp leaning forward, neither beast making a single move, their bodies completely frozen like two arctic glaciers, waiting for nature to force them into action. Krom's heart throbbed in his chest, waiting for either Pokemon to make a move. He saw a twitch from Garchomp's tail, locking onto it for the split second he could.
Birisu shot forward, extending his limbs to slam his fist into the land shark, who stumbled back as Birisu closed in, exhaling as he jabbed the Garchomp's scaled stomach with a Fire Punch, dealing only enough damage to knock the Mega Evolved Pokemon into the air, where he released a barrage of Ice Punches the struck from all angles, using his elastic, extendable arms to strike from a wide variety of directions, the faster than sound Pokemon unable to put up a barrier to defend himself or even to flee. Birisu's speed was far too much and the Garchomp fell to the ground and grunted. Slamming it's scythes into the ground, the dragon pushed himself up to a vertical base, exhaling as he looked to the ground. The dragon's head came up as he locked eyes with the now seven foot tall feline that stood before him. Ice covered the dragon's body, and he nodded to the feline before dropping to his knees, steam and mist slipping through his chiseled jaw as he fell forward, his Mega Evolution fading along with his consciousness.
"Garchomp is unable to battle! The battle is now tied 4-4!" the referee called as Birisu exhaled. Brock recalled the defeated land shark, chuckling as he pulled another PokeBall from his waist. "I'm rather impressed by your capabilities. I didn't think you'd get past Garchomp so easily." Brock said, and Birisu narrowed his eyes. "Easily. It was no easy task to defeat Garchomp. He was quite the opponent." he said, and Brock rose a brow. "Is that so? Then perhaps I was overestimating you." he said, tossing the PokeBall into the air, Birisu slightly irate with his statement. The blue energy from the PokeBall was released into the air, making Krom wonder exactly what Pokemon Brock was using next. The energy faded with a gust of wind as a loud, shrill shriek filled his ears, making him cover them as he looked up to see a rather large Aerodactyl flapping it's wings. Brock laughed. "I assume you want to let our Pokemon fight with their own skills and instincts once more?" he asked, and Krom nodded.
"Precisely. My job is to train Pokemon, not command them. My Pokemon battle by themselves to show off our training. Whether our training was enough depends on the situation." Krom said, and Brock laughed. "Well said. Aerodactyl, Mega Evolve and defeat Birisu!" he called, the sole command causing the fossil Pokemon to screech as the same light overcame it's body, Birisu watching as it's face morphed, a jagged, sharp beard growing as two larger horns sprouted, the density of the Pokemon's wings increasing as three sharp claws appeared along them, his tail turning into a sharp spade as more protrusions formed on the fossil's chest, the light fading with a shockwave as Birisu analyzed the Mega Evolved Pokemon, whose unusual rock beard almost made the herb smoking cat chuckle. Almost.
Realizing that staying on the ground puts him at a disadvantage, Birisu floated into the air, rolling his neck as he looked down to the referee. "Begin!" he called, and both Pokemon shot forward, slamming into each other and flying back. Birisu glanced down to the healing wound on his forearm, remembering that regardless of form, his injured arm was both a target and a weak spot, the wound still fresh, scabs only just starting to form despite the legendary's regenerative abilities. The Aerodactyl screeched, jetting forward. Birisu noticed that it's wings were glowing a bright silver, the feline catching the Steel Wing and closing his fists around the Pokemon's wings, grunting as he unleashed a Thunder that coated him and the fossil Pokemon he held onto. The Aerodactyl shrieked once again, the electricity sliding along it's body and concentrating at it's jaws, Birisu recognizing the familiar Thunder Fang attack. He released the dinosaur like Pokemon, floating back as the Rock type clamped it's jaws down, Birisu's extendable left arm cackling with electricity as it came at an arch at the Aerodactyl, who merely flipped in air.
Birisu was surprised the Pokemon could flip itself upside down in mid air, trying to withdraw the arm as the Aerodactyl's jaws began to glow a bright white as he clamped down, Birisu calling out loudly as the flesh on his other arm was pierced. The Aerodactyl swung back around, whipping Birisu towards the ground as it flapped it's large wings and followed, flames erupting from it's rocky maw as Birisu tried to regain his composure, the pain numbing his mind for an instant as he lifted his hand, using Protect to form a small shield to defend himself from the flames, spinning in air as he changed trajectory to avoid striking the ground, flying upwards as the flames struck the ground, the feline whirling around in the air and launching a dual handed Ice Beam in the fossil Pokemon's direction, cursing as the rock type effortlessly flew around it and closed in, Birisu clenching his right fist and throwing a punch cloaked in ice, The Aerodactyl flapping it's wings once to evade the attack and roll above the attack, coming down with a bright white tail that slammed into Birisu, causing him to almost teleport to the ground, the feline hissing loudly at the force of the Iron Tail.
The Mewtwo narrowed it's eyes as it looked up, wondering exactly what it was that gave the Aerodactyl the advantage. Was it typing? Perhaps experience? He shook his head, not bothering to think up an answer. He inhaled, teleporting into the air behind the dinosaur like Pokemon, throwing his large arms out to grab the Pokemon in a bear hug. Unfortunately, the Aerodactyl spun, slapping Birisu in the face with it's rather sharp wing, the feline ducking under another lunging Crunch from the fossil, jabbing it in the chest with both of it's arms, the green aura signifying that he was using Drain Punch, allowing him to absorb some of the remaining energy from the Aerodactyl. Birisu cursed when the Aerodactyl flapped it's wings and blew him back, realizing that not only was his left cheek bleeding, the amount of energy absorbed from the Pokemon was low. Was the ancient Pokemon already low on stamina? No, that couldn't be the case. They had only been fighting for moments. He shot forward, his mind still contemplating exactly why he couldn't absorb much energy.
He leaned to his left, avoiding a spinning tail strike from the Aerodactyl, catching it's tail and grabbing it in both hands. He noticed that he didn't sense much energy from the Aerodactyl at all, spinning and tossing him towards the ground, flying after in pursuit. Perhaps the Aerodactyl only needed to use small amounts of energy to power itself? Birisu shook his head as he extended his arms and swung them in wide quarter circles to meet in front of him, Aerodactyl noticing this and flapping it's wings, flying against the ground belly up as he swung his tail down, slapping the ground to give himself enough height to roll around. The Aerodactyl lunged forward, at a speed Birisu wasn't entirely sure he expected from the fossil. Birisu noticed the creature's wings glowing a bright white, cursing as he Teleported, materializing in the same spot only a fraction of a second later, the Aerodactyl already whirling around and charging again. Birisu spun, acknowledging the fact that his opponent was far too fast for him right now. I'll affi use him speed against him. Birisu thought, glancing back to Krom as he caught the fossil Pokemon by it's wings.
He grunted as the sharp rocks adorning the dinosaur's wings tore into the skin of his hands, throwing a knee up, striking the Aerodactyl, getting only a muffled grunt in response, the feline spinning and extending his arms as he began to rotate, spinning in a circle before throwing the Aerodactyl towards the ground, following after with his arm's still extended, his left fist closing in as the Aerodactyl grit it's teeth, spinning to it's own left, Birisu picking up on the movement and capitalizing, opening his left fist and firing a Shadow Ball that struck the fossil in the right side, causing it's trajectory to be thrown off, allowing his right fist to slam into the fossil's jaw, another Drain Punch that garnered Birisu little reward. He retracted his arm slightly, launching another Shadow Ball at point blank range that caused the Mega Evolved fossil to call out as Birisu landed on the ground. The cat noted that his own speed seemed to have increased, possibly due to his artificial nature. He looked to the cloud of dust where his opponent was, his eyes detecting no movement, his external senses also picking up nothing.
He narrowed his eyes. Why was there no energy or visible movement? Did he kill the Aerodactyl? No, it wouldn't be that easy. Birisu also noted that he had no killing intent, meaning that none of his attacks had the intent or force to kill the fossil. Birisu's muscles tensed up instinctively, dropping down to a squat as the large head of the Aerodactyl flew over him, jaws clamping down as Birisu leaned to his left to avoid the long, sharp rock that served as a beard for the fossil, Birisu spinning where he stood and grabbing his opponent by the shoulders, tossing him overhead as he stood, clenching his fists. Him using a technique that hides him presence. Me affi keep him in me sights. The green feline thought, surging forward as he exhaled, watching the Aerodactyl take to the air as he pressed his feet to the ground, vaulting up after his opponent, the dinosaur like Pokemon smiling to itself as it spun, slapping it's tail into Birisu's face and knocking him back, shooting forward and slamming its rather large skull into Birisu's chest, the cat grunting as he grabbed the Mega Evolved fossil's rock like horns, wrapping both of his feet around the third, beard like rock that stuck out of the fossil's chin, gritting his teeth as he shoved forward, driving them both towards the ground.
The Aerodactyl struggled and flapped it's wings, but Birisu held on tight, his grip remaining strong as the Aerodactyl's eyes shifted to the ground, screeching as they shifted back to the cat that held onto it's face. Birisu saw a shadow form over the Aerodactyl's face, and glanced down to see that the fossil was forming a Hyper Beam between it's jaws, Birisu scoffing and driving them to the ground faster, a final shriek ringing out as the Hyper Beam struck Birisu at point blank range. The energy was shockingly immense, Birisu immediately realizing that the Aerodactyl suppressed it's own physical power and energy to power this final attack, Birisu's grip slowly slipping as his arms and legs began to extend, the flesh being stretched to it's limits as the torn flesh of his forearms began to start peeling away, exposing bloody muscle, Birisu losing the feeling in his arms as his grip slipped, the beam's full power pushing him back and slamming him into the ceiling, pain erupting in his back as the Aerodactyl bounced off the ground.
The Aerodactyl merely spun in the air and flapped it's wings, it's body and face visibly worn, the fossil panting and seemingly pained, Krom's eyes locked on the ceiling, hoping that Birisu was alright. Suddenly, a huge shockwave rung out, causing Krom to cover his eyes as Orzhov slid back into the nearest wall to stay standing. When Krom looked back, Birisu was nose to nose with the Aerodactyl, in his smaller, more agile form. The Aerodactyl was taken aback, unable to react as Birisu threw his arms out to the side, slamming the bottom of his palms together and roaring as he unleashed a powerful Hyper Beam that struck the rock in the chest, causing it to fly back, slamming into the far wall as the rock like spike on it's back shattered, an explosion ringing out that caused Krom to breath a sigh of relief as Birisu teleported over to him, reverting to his original form.
Krom evaluated the situation quickly, noticing that Birisu's hands and forearms were all bleeding heavily, the feline panting slightly as his trainer looked across the battlefield, just now realizing how much blood the feline had lost. Looking back to Brock, the Gym Leader sighed as he looked to the wall, where his Aerodactyl remained, firmly jammed into a crater on the wall. Brock returned the Pokemon to it's ball, chuckling as he pulled the next ball from his waist. The referee wiped sweat from his brow, glad the slugfest between the two speed demons was over. "Aerodactyl is unable to battle! Krom leads 4-3!" the referee called, the Gym Leader glancing from him to Krom. "I'm really impressed at how strong Birisu is. But tell me, how much more does he have in him with those injuries?" he asked, and Krom looked to his Mewtwo, the Pokemon visibly ragged. "Birisu, why don't you take a chance to rest, at least focus on healing your wounds." he said, the feline glancing back to him and exhaling.
"My job is to prove my worth to you, Master Brock and everyone else that can see this battle. I will go down fighting to prove that I am not a Wasteman Ting." he said, Krom blinking at his odd terminology, making a mental note to ask Simba exactly what the cat was talking about next time he saw him. Brock laughed, tossing the PokeBall in his hand into the air. "Well said Birisu. I applaud your determination." he said, the ball cracking open as a large form took shape, Krom realizing that Birisu's next opponent also had a non human form, much like Aerodactyl. The light faded, and glimmering sparkles rang out, Krom shielding his eyes at the bright gold snake in front of him. He looked up, in awe at the sheer size and stature of the Steelix Brock called on, something Brock picked up on. "I knew that Birisu would have an easier time than the rest of your Pokemon, so I made sure to bring along my old pal Steelix for insurance." he said, and Krom grit his teeth. If he brought Steelix for Birisu, what the hells did be bring for DJ Swamp? Krom thought, glancing to the mud fish's PokeBall. Brock patted the Steelix, who growled as he looked down.
"Steelix, do your thing!" Brock called, the oddly parental way he treated the metallic snake rather odd to Krom. The snake shot forward, Birisu shooting forward as well, blood flying from his wounds as the snake coiled up in midair and swung it's tail at him, the feline unable to dodge as it slammed him to the ground, making him cough as the snake leapt back, Birisu struggling to stand, his legs unmoving as Orzhov ran over to Krom, who nodded to his adopted son. "Birisu is unable to battle! The match is now tied 3-3!" the referee called, Krom recalling the feline to his own selfish protests, handing the ball to Orzhov, who wordlessly knew what to do, using his inhuman speed to get the feline to the Poke Center. Krom clenched his fist. "Your Steelix didn't even Mega Evolve. Are you trying to take me lightly!?" Krom shouted, his canines heavier as Brock put his hands up. "Whoa there. I wasn't trying anything. I merely knew that it wouldn't take anything more than a single Iron Tail to defeat Birisu. After all, he's lasted longer than any other Pokemon in this battle so far." he said, and Krom frowned, his anger fading as he reached for the next PokeBall on his waist, Brock glancing to the camera crew in the stands.
"Before you continue your commentary, I'd like to suggest that you hold onto something." Brock called up, the people blinking as he whistled to Steelix, who immediately knew what he was calling for, the steel snake screaming as the same infamous light overtook it's body as it began to morph. The spikes from it's coil like body erupted, three sets of spikes exploding out and stretching as it's jaw morphed, three protrusions that remained conjoined erupting from either side of it's jaw, a third tooth like ridge appearing atsthe beast's eyes changed from red to blue, an odd metallic H forming on it's head as it's brow morphed, the shattered steel from it's transformation beginning to fly in the air around it as the light faded and the Steelix roared, a baritone, deafening sound that caused Krom to tense his muscles to remain on the ground as he looked at the snake, whose shattered steel coils revealed translucent, multicolored diamond like spikes, each segment of it's body that didn't possess the crystalline spikes now possessing a black spot with a blue hexagon on it, even it's tail segment now crystallized. Krom was impressed by the large snake to saw the least.
"Unbelievable! An earth shattering transformation from Brock's signature Pokemon! How will Krom respond!? Will he rise to the challenge of fighting this massive serpent!?" the man screamed as he watched Krom look to the PokeBall in his hand. "The score is now 3 to 3! Halfway though this battle we have witnessed some of the most impressive battles seen here on the Kanto League Network!" the man shouted, Krom tossing the PokeBall in his hand, catching it as he rolled his neck. "My next Pokemon doesn't have too much experience, so try to go easy on me." he said, and Brock rose a brow as the ball flew through the air. "I already told you I won't be going easy, and yet you specifically ask me to? What are you planning?" he asked, watching the ball crack open as blue energy flooded out, Krom shaking his head. "You must be mistaken. I said to go easy on me for not training him much, not to go easy on him in battle." he said as the energy took shape, Brock raising a brow as the referee looked to the Pokemon that took shape.
The energy faded, shimmering light radiating off of the mass of fabric and fur as a large afro shook, a pair of wide horns adorned with thick gold rings protruding from the afro. The Bouffalant stood, now a surprising Eleven feet tall, his body completely humanoid save for his bovine back legs, his entire body adorned in a white suit with an open collar that was rather large, the buffalo placing his left hand on his hip and turning to the side slightly, placing his right hand up in the air as he smiled, a pose that was very familiar to many of the older people in the Gym, Krom chuckling as the buffalo rolled it's neck and shoulders, it's massive afro bouncing as it did so. Brock laughed at the Pokemon, shaking his head as he ran a hand through his hair. Krom smiled broadly, the friendly tone of the battle returning. "Like him? Hercules, my Minotauros, found him during my travels and we trained him. You can thank Hercules for him achieving this form. I was really impressed when I first saw him too." Krom said, laughing as Brock shook his head. "Rather impressive. I look forward to seeing what he's capable of. Steelix!" Brock called, the steel snake taking an attack position as the Bouffalant exhaled sharply, slapping it's heavily furred chest and rattling the gold chain it wore.
"An incredible matchup! One of Brock's serious last resorts versus a lighthearted, funky newcomer! Who will reign victorious in this clash of titans!?" the man in the stand screamed as the referee lifted his hand. "Does this Bouffalant have a name?" the ref asked, Krom humming as he looked to the bovine, who was swinging his hips to a rhythm only he could hear, a snarky smile on his face as he stared down his opponent. He shook his head, chuckling at how much fun the bipedal Pokemon was having. "Hey Bouffalant! What kind of name do you want me to give them?" He asked the bovine, who glanced back to his Trainer and let out a loud grunt as he turned back to the metallic snake. Krom rose a brow, shrugging as he turned to the referee. "He says he wanted to be called 'Boogie Man' of all things." He explained, and the referee nodded, seeming slightly confused. "The next battle is Steelix vs. Boogie Man! Begin!" the referee called, the two Pokemon remaining frozen to the spot.
Boogie Man made the first move, clapping his hands and pointing at his opponent, his index fingers out and thumbs up. He grunted as he began to fire glowing balls of mud at his opponent, who merely frowned and slid around the attacks, closing in as flames licked at the Steelix's maw before the metallic serpent opened it's jaws, releasing a torrent of flames in the Bouffalant's direction, the bovine spinning and sliding away smoothly, his dodge less of a tactical move and more of a moonwalk like dance. He shook his large afro, looking to the Steelix and shaking his head, Krom noticing that the snake's eyes narrowed. Is he trying to bait Steelix into exhaustion? Krom wondered, watching the Boogie Man fold his arms behind his head and lean back, pulling his pelvis area back as he avoided a rather jab like Iron Tail from his opponent. He unfolded his hands, coming down with both of them glowing. Striking the snake, he pressed down to drag the snake closer to himself, the Steelix's mouth opening once more as the funky one bowed his head, malicious dark energy rings slamming into his hair to no avail.
Boogie clenched his right fist as the Steelix continued to fly closer despite it's forceful attack. He swung his fist in an overhand cross, aiming straight for the Pokemon's steel jaw, the elder Pokemon picking up on this and flattening himself to the ground. He slid under the punch, rising up to his full serpentine form and screaming at the suit wearing buffalo. His opponent merely chuckled, placing his balled fists on his hips and thrusting his pelvis forward as a challenge. The Steelix opened it's mouth, it's tooth like ridges glowing a bright white as it shot forward, Boogie throwing his arms out, the same snarky smile on his face as he watched the massive, likely one ton snake fly forward, throwing his arms up and coming down, slapping the Steelix in the head as he leap frogged over the snake, landing hard as the ground shook and knocked the Steelix off balance.
The buffalo spun, his right hand on his hip as he pointed his left hand at his opponent, firing another volley of Mud Shots that pelted the Steelix to no avail as the bovine turned completely, exhaling hard through his nose and thrusting his hips forward as he charged his opponent, who seemed to have been slowed down by the mud, opting to retaliate in a different fashion, the Steelix's body glowing a bright silver as it fell forward, the Boogie Man looking up as he spun his hands, catching the Steelix's massive head and snickering to himself. He shoved the Steelix's head up, jumping back and kicking the Pokemon in the jaw, surprisingly sending it flying in Krom's direction, the Halfling Trainer jumping high into the air to avoid the massive metallic body that came his way. He watched as Boogie bounced up to his feet using his afro, spinning to face his opponent and trainer as he kicked his right leg out, a smile plastered on his face as Krom sighed.
"Watch it Boogie! Almost squashed me with that one!" Krom shouted, his rhythmic Pokemon snorting loudly as the Steelix stirred, shaking it's head as it turned to face the buffalo. Krom heard a loud shout from the Steelix, the air released from the massive serpent's mouth enough to make Boogie Man's impressive head of hair billow back like a curtain, the agitated elder Steelix launching the metallic scraps around it's chest like bullets before opening it's mouth, another massive burst of flame following the scraps as they began to heat up, Boogie Man narrowing his eyes ever so slightly as he spun in place, putting a hand on his afro as he began to moonwalk backwards, the searing hot scraps pelting the ground at his hooves as he stopped and stomped, a jagged wall of rock rising up in front of him as the Fire Blast struck it, embers flying around and making his golden chain dazzle, the Bouffalant enthralled with his own appearance. However, he almost failed to notice that Steelix was coming down from above, coated in a bright silver aura. Boogie Man opened his hands, his hooves picking up on movement under the ground, the area around his feet glowing a bright red before erupting underneath him and sending him flying into the air.
He spun in mid air, noticing that the Steelix had managed to use Earth Power despite not being on the ground. He exhaled a curse, spinning again and preparing to catch the massive snake. However, he felt searing heat erupt on both of his sides, a glance down allowing him to notice that the searing hot scraps had moved silently, from laying uselessly on the ground to pelting him in the sides and searing his fur and tearing his suit. This small distraction allowed Steelix to slam into his chest unhindered, the force vaulting the buffalo back towards the ground as the Steelix rolled, slamming his shining tail into the Bouffalant's chest and causing him to call out and cough up blood, the only thing in his cloudy vision a single gold chain link that flew across the gym. The Steelix slithered back, the Bouffalant struggling to stand as he reached for the broken chain link, a glance at his chest making him realize that not only was his suit completely ruined, but his chain had been shattered.
The referee looked to Boogie Man, who hadn't moved much for a few moments. He lifted his hand, inhaling as he prepared to speak and declare the buffalo unable to battle. However, he hesitated when he felt the ground quiver slightly. Then, the buffalo moved, kicking himself up to a standing position in a single, fluid motion, the happy look on his face replaced with a darker expression, one of someone who felt disrespected. The Bouffalant tore the suit off, the broken chain links falling to the ground as he roared, the Steelix returning the gesture in kind. The two locked eyes, and surged forth.
They slammed together, both sliding back as Boogie stomped his right hoof, glowing blue spires erupting from the ground, Steelix swiping his tail in their direction, launching a Dark Pulse in Boogie's direction, the angered buffalo forming a barrier around him to Protect himself, dropping the barrier as he surged forth with incredible speed, jumping and striking the Steelix in the jaw with his left fist, turning his head and slamming his right horn into the Steelix's throat, continuing his roll as a strong right shoulder pushed the snake back towards Brock, a massive double hoofed kick knocking the Steelix into the air as it slid back further, Boogie noticing the Steelix's eyes look past him to the scraps on the ground and still attached to his suit, which immediately came at the bovine from behind. Boogie grunted, clapping his hands above himself, rolling his hips in a circle as broken rocks swarmed him, forming a Rock Tomb to block the metallic scraps before casting the rocks in the Steelix's direction, pelting him to little effect as another rhythmic stomp caused more glowing Stone Edge spires to slam into the mega evolved snake.
Not wanting to give the snake any time to recover, Boogie turned to the side, slamming the bottom of his hands together before pulling them back, cupped at his side as he bent his knees, screaming as he began to charge a Hyper Beam in his palms. The dust slowly vanished, the shimmering metallic snake shaking dirt and rock debris from it's rather flat face before locking eyes with the buffalo, whose muscles had increased in density, something the snake could tell from the veins bulging through his fur. The Steelix opened it's mouth, shimmering metallic energy forming between it's ancient jaws as it called out, launching a Flash Cannon in time with the Hyper Beam the buffalo launched, the two attacks clashing at rather close range.
The force of the collision blew Krom's hair back, dust and dirt flying about and surprising Krom, as neither Pokemon was known for it's non physical offensive abilities. Krom's eyes scanned the two, Steelix in much better condition as the two seemed rather evenly matched. Suddenly, a metallic shift in the Steelix's jaws caused both Krom and Boogie to pay close attention. He's smiling. The bastard snake is smiling. Krom thought, his eyes scanning the field and hesitating as he noticed the metallic scraps continue to move as they all began to slam themselves together, the incredible heat from the Fire Blast still lingering enough for the pieces to be crudely melded together by the Steelix's will, forming a warm, jagged hunk of metal that flew toward Boogie's back, Krom cursing. "Boogie! Behind you!" Krom called, the buffalo smiling to himself as he shoved his hands forward, launching a final burst of energy as he fell to the ground, laying on his stomach as the metal spear flew over him, lodging itself in the wall as Boogie's legs rolled, the Steelix hesitating in confusion as the Bouffalant began almost… slithering along, the worm like movement giving the Boogie Man an opening as he rolled to a handstand position.
He spun, his hooves glowing as he struck the center of the Steelix repetitively, the ancient snake only able to jab it's massive head down, Boogie able to spin away and leap to his feet, kicking his leg out and spinning once more before grabbing his groin and thrusting his hips. The Steelix slithered away from the wall, both Pokemon visibly worn out from their rather physical confrontation. The Steelix roared, once again cloaking itself in a shinning silver aura and coiling itself into a round shape before vaulting forward, Boogie Man throwing his arms out to the side as his afro began to glow a deep red color, his legs clenching as he shot forward, the center of his afro glowing a bright yellow, his strides slowing down as he jumped into the air, his whole body coated in a bright yellow aura as the two titans collided, a shockwave ringing out that caused Krom to curse, the speed and force much greater than expected, the Halfling placing his feet against the wall to avoid being slammed against it as an explosion rang out, blinding the buffalo's trainer.
When the dust settled, Krom blinked, his vision returning as he looked to the center of the gym, where both Boogie Man and Steelix stood, smoke and dirt coating both of their bodies as they panted. The buffalo exhaled as smoke oozes from his maw, spreading his legs and leaning to the left, bending his left knee as he placed his right hand on his hip. He stuck his left hand in the air, his index finger out as the Steelix actually chuckled, the titanic metal snake closing it's eyes and falling to the ground as it's transformation faded. Boogie Man smiled, his body quivering as he fell back, holding his pose as he crashed back, unconscious. The referee blinked before throwing both of his arms up. "Both Boogie Man and Steelix are unable to battle! The score is now tied 2-2!" he called as Krom exhaled, chuckling as he recalled the Pokemon to it's ball, Brock doing the same. "Get some good rest Boogie." he said, sighing as he looked to Brock.
"I'm rather impressed that a Pokemon like a Bouffalant could match my Steelix blow for blow physically." he said, and Krom chuckled. "That's Boogie for ya. He always does better than expected." he said, and Brock smiled as he glanced to the man in the stands. "An unbelievable earth shaking confrontation that ends in a draw! Now, with both men down to their final pair of Pokemon, let's see who has what it takes to bring home the win!" he called, Brock reaching for his next PokeBall. "I do hope I get to see some more of your stronger Pokemon." he said, and Krom rose a brow. "Why? Would it be to embarrassing if your final two Pokemon were defeated by my Pichu?" he asked, and Brock laughed. "I'd expect you to be in possession of an absurdly power Pokemon of that size." he said, and Krom chuckled as he grabbed his next PokeBall. Brock exhaled as he tossed the PokeBall forward, the familiar crack of the PokeBall ringing out as shimmering blue energy flew from the small globe, morphing and shifting as it flew through the air and collided with the ground before dispersing, revealing a large, metal figure that shimmered an aquatic green color as crimson orbs bored down his opponent.
Krom whistled. "That's a rather impressive Aggron you've got there. Almost wish I brought Packer along. He'd love the chance to fight something like that." he said, tossing his own PokeBall forward, watching it crack open as the same shimmering blue energy morphed and hit the ground, dispersing in a small shockwave as the large, canid Pokemon released a loud shout, rolling his shoulders as the light reflected off of his blood red horns, his light beige body almost white in color. "Now then, who is it that I have to crush?" the Pokemon asked, a thick, rugged accent in his tone as he stared down the Aggron. Brock took his turn, whistling himself. "A Terrakion. It's not often Legendaries are brought around my gym." he said, and Sherman began to laugh. "Of course not. That's because none of the trainers that you face are of a high enough caliber to earn the respect of us beasts of legend." he said, Brock raising a brow. "I can't disagree with that. Krom is cut from a different cloth." he said, Sherman exhaling as he kicked the ground.
The referee lifted his arms. "The next battle is Sherman the Terrakion versus Aggron. Begin!" he called, Sherman wasting no time as he shot forward, bright blue energy forming around his horns as he leaped into the air, coming down hard as the Aggron caught the energy horns in his metallic palms before bowing his head. Sherman noticed and cast away the energy horns, both Pokemon covering themselves in a familiar silver aura before slamming together, Aggron shoving Sherman to the side as he spun in air, opening his mouth and shouting as he launched a Focus Blast that the Aggron merely slapped away with it's tail. Sherman hit the ground and slid, charging forward again, his horns once more coated in the same familiar blue energy, the Aggron meeting him with his claws glowing a bright white, the collision of the two bodies coming out in Sherman's favor, the bulldog like legendary shoving the metallic kaiju back.
The Aggron's tail rose up as water began to pool around it, the metallic kaiju slamming it's tail into the ground to vault itself into the air, Sherman cursing as water got into his eyes and blinded him for a second, his eyes opening to see the Aggron coming from above coated in a silver aura, a white coating atop of it. "Combining Iron Head and Aerial Ace!? Is not enough to defeat me!" he shouted, using Quick Attack to shoot around the kaiju, who crashed into the ground, rolling back and reaching his feet unscathed. "Come now! You must have something better than that for Sherman!?" he shouted, referring to himself in the third person as the metallic kaiju growled, the duo surging forth again. Using X-Scissor once more, Sherman summoned the blue energy that surrounded his horns, the Aggron summoning black claws made from shadows as he prepared to catch the bull like legendary again. This time, Sherman ducked down, scratching the metallic kaiju with his energy horn as he ran past, using Quick Attack to speed up his return trip, the Aggron spinning and coming down with both fists cloaked in electricity as Sherman skidded to a halt, rearing up on his hind legs.
Sherman came down, slamming his front hooves into the shoulders of the Aggron and driving it to the ground, unleashing a Focus Blast at close range as he pushed himself up again, preparing to slam himself down again. However, the Aggron sprung up, slamming it's massive head into Sherman's chest and sending him flying. The massive Pokemon managed to roll in midair to land on his feet, sliding back as the Aggron exhaled, roaring as, for the fifth time, a bright light overcame Brock's Pokemon. Sherman took the chance to rest, knowing full well that his opponent would be much more powerful after the transformation. The Aggron increased in width, his chest becoming barrel like as his tail lengthened and morphed, three massive rings forming around it as the small shoulder protrusions it donned changed shape, forming curved, spike like blades on the beast's shoulders.
The three head plates of the beasts extended as it's horns shortened, the silver armor encasing it and layering over the green armor it donned before. It's face shortened as it's nose and chin jutted like a spike, the nose forming a third horn as the forearms of the beast swelled up with metal coating as two blades erupted from them, the light fading as the beast screamed loud enough to cause Krom to slide back, something he noticed all Mega Evolving Pokemon liked to do. Sherman laughed as he rolled his neck. "Now this will be interesting!" He shouted, the duo locking eyes before Sherman shot forward, the Aggron opening it's mouth as flames shot forth, Sherman jumping over them as the Aggron's body glowed a bright yellow before electricity shot in Sherman's direction, the Terrakion chuckling as he used Quick Attack to vault himself towards the ground, cursing when he noticed that the Aggron had already frozen the ground with an Ice Beam.
He slid forward, the metal kaiju swinging his silver claws down, striking Sherman in the side as he slid back, the bulldog throwing his head back as he summoned the debris from around the gym to strike the ice and shatter it, his feet hitting solid, unfrozen ground as he cast them in the Aggron's direction. He watched as they pelted the Aggron to no avail, the metallic kaiju firing a Focus Blast at surprising speed from it's maw, pressing it's hands in front of it as the ball of energy was joined by an onslaught of black rings, Sherman's focus on the latter attack rather than the former. Using X-Scissor, he swung his head casually to slice the Focus Blast in half, the energy flying behind him and erupting as the black rings pelted him, doing nearly no damage as he inhaled, feeling his muscles increase in size, the move triggering his Justified Ability and raising his physical attack power. He sensed energy behind him, and spun to avoid a Shock Wave, his attention unable to return to the Aggron before a ball of water slammed into him and knocked him back as it burst.
The water coated his body, causing him to begin shaking himself dry as a Thunderbolt struck him from seemingly nowhere and caused him to curse. "You dare use naught but projectile against Sherman!? I will make you pay for this immense disrespect!" He screamed as his front left leg gave out, the Thunderbolt ceasing as a shadow overcame him, the Musketeer looking up for less than a second before a massive SolarBeam slammed into him, earning a bloodcurdling cry from the weakened beast. He felt the energy bearing down on him as he looked to the Aggron, who hadn't moved a muscle. The shimmering metal beast leaned forward, his heavy form seeming more comfortable in a quadrupedal state. He opened his mouth as bright silver energy shot forth, a blinding light that caused Krom to call out to Sherman, the beast unable to hear his trainer as he was struck, knocked off the ground and slammed into the nearest wall.
Sherman fell from the wall, cursing as he stood, panting as he frowned at the Aggron. "So you continue to disrespect Sherman!? And I thought old Aggron were supposed to taken seriously!?" He shouted, Sherman's shouting distracting him from his opponent, a long winded inhale allowing the heavily damaged Legendary to notice that the Aggron was a little more vertical than before, his long horns fully extended and the armor on his body slightly thinner. He tricked me!? Sherman wondered to himself, the Aggron ducking down slightly before shooting forward. The thing that caught Sherman off guard wasn't the Aggron's incredible non physical offensive prowess, but his speed. The Aggron slammed into him, a flaming fist striking him in the face and causing him to slide back against the wall. Sherman shook his head and roared. It was obvious that his opponent has used some form of thinning technique, that also managed to increase his speed greatly. As Sherman shot forward, his mind continued to race.
What angered the bulldog the most wasn't the fact that he was losing so badly, but that his opponent managed to attack him from a distance to make time for some unusual technique, and that he had no idea. He ducked under a Metal Claw, coming up and slamming his right shoulder into the Aggron, jabbing his head into the beast and spinning, slamming both of his rear legs into the metal kaiju's chest as hard as he could, the Aggron coming out with out a scratch. Using it's increased speed, the Aggron sped around Sherman, kicking him in the left side and knocking him back, able to follow up with a hard chop to the shoulder that brought him down, Sherman being forced to roll away to avoid a massive stomp, the bulldog panting as he launched another Focus Blast, merely dazing the Aggron as he stamped his feet down, causing the Earth to Quake, the Aggron caught off guard long enough for Sherman to launch Focus Blasts as he closed in with Quick Attack, ramming into the Aggron and once again spinning to slam his rear legs into the metallic beast.
The Aggron caught his legs and spun him, throwing him in Brock's direction as he rolled midair, bouncing off the wall as he continued to charge forward, the Aggron closing in at incredible speed, coming down with a Brick Break that Sherman could tell damaged his skull, the force enough to make him bounce and flip over the metallic beast, landing on his feet as he slid back, ending up at Krom's side. The crimson eyed Trainer was rather concerned with how badly his Pokemon was getting thrashed, and made on offer to him. "Why not take a break? This Aggron is too fast for you to deal with." he said, and Sherman shook his head, spitting blood off into the distance. "Nyet! I will CRUSH this upstart bull in the name of Mother Unova!" He screamed, his body radiating with light and energy as he shook, a shockwave blowing dust into Krom's eyes as Sherman raced forward, not about to let his partner, his friend, down.
He ducked under the grappling hands of the Aggron, stomping his tail and pushing his rear legs up, kicking the Aggron in the back of the head and causing him to stumble forward, Sherman's eyes bulging as the ground beneath the Aggron erupted and struck him, a smile on his face as he began his comeback, his muscles slightly relaxing as he jumped forward, the shining crimson eyes of the Aggron locking onto him as even more armor seemed to chip away, the Aggron's left hand coming down as Sherman landed past him, spinning to frown at his opponent. He snickered, believing to have struck the Aggron. However, his heart skipped a beat as pain erupted in his skull, a scream escaping his lips as his right horn fell off, clattering to the ground like the shards of a broken plate. He stumbled back, looking to the chopped off horn, his anger rising as he exhaled smoke. The Aggron chuckled, his armor thinner a third time as the same pain exploded in Sherman's skull on the opposite side, his other horn falling off cleanly.
"Sherman!" Krom called, his heart throbbing in his chest as the canine like musketeer slid back, looking from one horn to the other and sighing. "I see. You used Autotomize to reduce your weight and increase your speed. That is why I was unable to keep up with you." he said, his muscles clenching as the Aggron exhaled, the breathing pattern very akin to a laugh. Veins erupted over his skin, bulging against his flesh as the blood visibly coursed through him, his head rising proudly as he erupted, a loud roar that shook the foundation of the large gym, a flaring red aura spreading as his flesh began to shimmer, seeming polished as he disappeared, reappearing in midair above the Aggron, who seemed rather surprised as the angered bulldog crashed into him, his mouth opening as another Focus Blast struck him at point blank range, the weight gone instantly as the Aggron spun. The two locked eyes, ducking down before vanishing, the duo colliding, a shockwave ringing out as they slid back, repeating the process again, and again, and again, both Pokemon not letting up.
Krom watched to the best of his ability as the titans collided like two solid waves, the fighting rock pushing itself against a wave of stainless steel. They slid back, Sherman looking down to see his broken horns as he grit his teeth. He stomped, the horns flying into the air as he caught them in his flat mouth. The duo vanished again, Terrakion tossing the horns like knives mid charge, the metal kaiju slapping them away, Sherman's eyes widening as he used Quick Attack to speed up even further, releasing a sonic boom as the jagged space between his horns began to glow as a blade of red energy formed, a single scream tearing itself from his chest as he swung his head forth, slamming the horn into his opponent as a shockwave blew the rubble to the far ends of the gym, the Aggron grunting as blood began to secrete from the wound, his transformation fading as the horn disappeared, the Aggron falling back as Sherman chuckled, stamping his feet in victory.
The referee threw his arm up as Brock sighed, pulling the PokeBall from his waist. "Aggron is unable to battle! The score is now 2-1 in Krom's favor!" he called, Brock returning the defeated Aggron to his PokeBall and sighing. "That was an incredible show of testicular fortitude." Brock said, pulling the last PokeBall from his waist and tossing it in the air, catching it. "I'm glad you managed to push me to my last Pokemon. Although, I'm pretty sure that this is the end of your rather valiant effort." he said, and Krom rose a brow. "Sherman is still ready to go and I still have one more Pokemon to use. Unless you throw a monster out of that ball, my chances of winning are rather decent." he said, and Brock chuckled. "That's the point. There is a monster in this ball." he said, and the man in the audience shouted, a sound that crossed feigned shock with real fear.
"Can Krom truly defeat the mighty beast Brock is about to unleash!? Even when brought down to his final Pokemon, Brock is still the favorite to win this battle!" he screamed, and Krom narrowed his eyes. So it's that strong huh? Can't wait to see what it is. He thought to himself, baring his fangs in a broad smile as Brock whistled. "Now that's a rather fierce look. I hope your last Pokemon is as fierce as you are." he said, tossing the ball as it cracked open, the energy shooting to the ground, the beast within wasting no time as the energy morphed and dispersed, the loud scream of a familiar Pokemon ringing out. The man in the stands erupted in hysterics, his loud commentary more annoying than insightful.
"By the Great Gods! He's summoned it! The undefeated beast of Pewter City lore, a monster that single handedly slayed ten thousand churchgoers! A beast who's technique and power are unmatched! The Great Blue Yokozuna, Leviathan!" he screamed, Krom raising a brow as he looked at Brock's Swampert. He sized it up, noticing that while the average Swampert was roughly 5 feet tall, this large specimen was closer to Birisu's size, standing at 6'03". Krom looked to Sherman, who looked ragged, his muscles seeming worn, no longer the same pulsating mounds of flesh they were. "Sherman, do you wanna take a break? This guy looks pretty tough." Krom asked, and Sherman shook his head. "Nyet. Even if I fall in one blow, I want to go down fighting." he said, the referee lifting his hand as Sherman tensed himself up. "The next battle is Sherman vs. The Leviathan. Begin!" he called, his arm coming down as Sherman shot forward, Krom able to see how tense Brock's mud fish was.
Sherman collided with the Mud Fish, who grabbed a tight hold of the bulldog, sliding back and rolling his large body, pulling Sherman wish him as he lifted his left leg, tossing him overhead, the bulldog cursing as he collided with the wall, the air knocked from his lungs as he hit the ground. He rolled to his stomach, panting as he tried to stand, feeling the intense strain in his muscles from his previous battle, the feeling in his left foreleg fading as he fell over, his consciousness beginning to fade as he lifted his opposite foreleg to assure Krom that he was alright. Krom shook his head, making the decision that Sherman had taken enough damage, recalling him and nodding to the referee. "Sherman is unable to battle! The battle is now tied up 1-1!" he called, and Krom looked down to the PokeBall in his hand as he heard footsteps approaching from behind, turning to see Orzhov walking up, looking slightly worn out.
"Is everything alright?" he asked, and Orzhov nodded. "Cernunnos and Acheron are just fine, and will be all healed up by the end of the day. Nurse Joy says Birisu will take a few more days to get back to full health, but as long as he doesn't exert more than a third of his maximum power he should be fine." he explained, and Krom breathed a sigh of relief, pulling another PokeBall from his waist. "Here. This is Sherman and Boogie Man. Take them to get healed and then call Simba. Tell Simba that Sherman lost his horns and I need Warriorf to make him new, stone horns." he said, hearing a whistle as he turned his head, dropping the PokeBall's in Orzhov's hand as his arms came up, catching Sherman's broken horns in his hands, the oversized Swampert having thrown them in his direction. He handed them to Orzhov, who nodded and smiled, putting the PokeBalls in his pocket as he saluted Krom jokingly. "Fear not. I will accomplish this task without interference." he said, turning and walking to the door as Krom pulled the last PokeBall from his waist. He glanced back, noticing that Orzhov stopped at the door.
"Something wrong?" he asked, and the boy shook his head. "Nope. Me and Mom are rooting for you. Good luck Dad!" he said, waving as he ran out the door, Krom's face lighting up as he gripped the ball in his hands. Brock chuckled. "So you've got a family to fight for? Rather unexpected for someone of your age." he said, and Krom smiled. "Never thought of it like that. I've always fought for fun, but to think that I'm fighting for my three wives and five children? If you put it like that, than I can never lose." He said, tossing the PokeBall in his hand forward, an eager energy radiating from the ball as it cracked open, the energy flying to the ground and morphing as a cry identical to the Leviathan rang out, the thick muscles of Krom's own Swampert began rippling across his body, the infamous disc jockey spreading his thin lips in a broad smile.
"So you finally brought out the big fish, huh?" Brock asked, and Krom chuckled. "I wanted to save him for last since I knew I'd need to counteract your team." he said, and Brock rose a brow. "So you're saying that your Swampert could have defeated my whole team?" he asked, and the Swampert slapped the ground, nodding for his Trainer as Brock rubbed his chin. "Interesting." he said, the man in the stands inhaling as the Pokemon took a second to size each other up, the two mud fish rather eager to begin. "And Krom's final Pokemon is also a Swampert! This is an incredible matchup that everyone at home should feel blessed to watch! Who will triumph in this all out war of a battle!? Will it be Brock and his undefeated monster, Leviathan? Or will it be Krom and his grape colored monster!?" The man screamed, the referee exhaling as he lifted his arms. "The final battle will be DJ Swamp vs. Leviathan." he said, the hearts of everyone in the gym pounding as the referee came down. "Begin!" he called, the duo surging forth, arms spread.
The two collided, pressing against each other as they struggled for dominance, a struggle that was more to see exactly how strong their opponent was. DJ Swamp took a step forward, pushing the larger, blue mud fish back, veins visible underneath his own purple flesh, the blue mud fish opening his mouth, DJ Swamp able to detect the incoming Ice Beam from his opponent, shifting his weight lower as he went for his opponent's legs, the larger Swampert's arms slipping as he hunched forward, his instincts allowing him to react faster, wrapping his arms around DJ Swamp's waist, picking him up and stepping back as he flipped him, slamming him on his back, the purple mud fish grunting as he rolled away from a stomp, rising to his feet and stepping back from an Ice Punch, the disc jockey able to tell that Leviathan had a fondness for his Ice Type moves, the DJ pulling him forward by the arm and wrapping him in a headlock, dragging him down and squeezing harder, the hold turning into a guillotine.
Leviathan reacted calmly, rolling the duo over so that he laid on his back, his two hands coming out to the side as he clenched them, throwing both hands at DJ Swamp's sides, striking him in the kidneys as he flinched, releasing the hold. Leviathan exhaled, thrusting his head forward and Headbutting DJ Swamp, knocking him off as the blue mud fish slid to his feet, watching his grape colored opponent rise to his feet, dropping to a quadrupedal stance and opening his mouth, firing an Ice Beam that the larger Swampert met with his own, the jagged lines of energy colliding and spreading, the force slowly freezing the ground beneath their feet and around them as they closed their maws, both Swampert glancing down and gauging the thickness of the ice. DJ Swamp ran forward, using his strong rear legs to slide across the ice as he closed in.
Leviathan swung his arm down, shattering the ice beneath him and catching it in his hands. He compacted it into the shape of a ball, throwing it at his purple foe, who slapped it to the ground, where it shattered against the ice on the ground, the duo locking up once more, remaining still with the slippery ground beneath their feet. Leviathan loosened up, DJ Swamp stumbling forward with the lack of resistance he faced, Leviathan tensing up again as he rolled his right hip, spinning and slamming DJ Swamp to the ground, causing him to call out as more ice shattered. Leviathan rolled over him, sliding against the ice as he returned to a vertical base, slamming his arms against the ground and compacting it into a large ball, chucking it at the other mud fish, who noticed it as he glanced at his surroundings. He first noticed that there was no ice beneath him, slamming his left arm against the ground as a single glowing blue spire rose up to shatter the ice as he rolled to his feet, exhaling as he surrounded himself with rolling, raging waters before jumping forward.
Leviathan watched the other Swampert, leaning forward and placing his hands on the solid ground, pushing himself back as he slid across the ice, watching the airborne mud fish as he glanced behind himself, noticing the wall that stood defiantly. His eyes returned forward as he lifted his left arm, swinging it in an inward arc to rotate his body to the left, allowing him to slide away as DJ Swamp frowned, rolling his body and landing on the wall. He rebounded off the wall, the water still surrounding his large body as he glanced down, noticing that his opponent was sliding away on the ice. He ducked his head forward, pushing his trajectory towards the ground as he let his arms dangle, tensing the muscles in his forearms and hands as they grinded against the ground, breaking into the ice and tearing it up in a large sheet that the Swampert simply swam through, the ice flying about as Leviathan flipped off the shattering ice, landing on his feet a small ways away from Krom.
DJ Swamp slammed into his foe, who caught him by his large, fin like head protrusions, monkey flipping him overhead, sending him flying into the wall. Colliding with the wall, the water surrounding him vanished, the DJ thinking quickly as the water pooled in front of his open mouth, condensing itself into a ball as he launched it, hitting the ground and grunting. He rolled to his feet to watch Leviathan slap the Water Pulse away, neither member of the duo wanting to give in this easily. DJ Swamp snickered, slamming his right fist into the ground as blue energy spires began to shoot up in Leviathan's direction, the behemoth Swampert swinging his right hand, a heavy Hammer Arm that struck the spires and shattered them, the mud fish's moving fingers controlling the shards of rock as they flew back at DJ Swamp, who opened his hands and formed a barrier to Protect himself, the barrier fading as the duo continued to stare each other down.
The duo moved in sync despite being opponents, both ducking down and running forward at the same time, their postures near identical as they met in the center of their paths, Leviathan throwing a left cross that DJ Swamp leaned back from, coming forward with a right uppercut that went under his foe's outstretched arm. Leviathan responded by pulling his arm, and DJ Swamp, back towards him, throwing a right hook that struck the other mud fish in the jaw, DJ Swamp rebounding by swinging his right arm up in an upwards arc, his hand straight like a blade. Leviathan leaned back, pulling both of his arms overhead and intertwining them. DJ Swamp watched his foe swing down, quickly grabbing Leviathan by the face and the abdomen and pressing him overhead, the hammer shot missing. He shouted, throwing his foe forward and following after, wasting no time. Leviathan rolled in the air, landing on his feet in a quadrupedal position lifting his head as he rose up and avoided DJ Swamp's own hammer fist.
The larger mud fish clenched his right fist, swinging down hard at DJ Swamps' head, the purple Swampert responding by falling flat to the floor and rolling, opening his mouth and launching a Mud Shot at point blank range. The mud struck his opponent in the eyes, causing him to call out as he stumbled back, giving DJ Swamp enough time to rise to his feet and clap his hands together, pulling them apart as a ball of water formed between his palms, releasing the ball with a grunt as Leviathan wiped the mud from his eyes, instantly catching the ball between his fingers before freezing it and throwing it back, the force of the throw causing a small sonic boom to ring out, DJ Swamp unable to react as the ball struck him and drove him back, the mud fish reaching down and clenching the ball between his palms before squeezing it to shatter it.
However, this left him open for Leviathan to close in and strike him with a right Ice Punch in the jaw, heat leaving his flesh as the left side of his jaw froze up, his instinctual reaction being to spin with his arms out, Leviathan leaning back to avoid the wild attack before closing in, a left Ice Punch nearly finding purchase. DJ Swamp grit his lips together, jabbing his head forward without warning and striking Leviathan in the chest, the force of the blow shattering the ice on his jaw. With his head still against Leviathan's chest, DJ Swamp launched a Water Gun at the ground to propel them back, changing his trajectory to flip over his opponent. Leviathan turned to strike DJ Swamp but the musically gifted Swampert was too quick, clapping his hands overhead to release a sonic boom that propelled him forward, both of his large forelegs being driven into the chest of the larger mud fish.
Leviathan slid back, DJ swamp able to land on his feet and open his mouth, a swirling torrent of water forming between his lips as he fired, clenching his muscles to keep himself anchored. Leviathan recovered, launching twin Ice Beams from his hands to freeze the oncoming wave of water, the amount of water far too great for his strategy to work, the torrent slamming into him and driving him back. He frowned, lifting his arms above his head and coming down hard, the force of the blow sending out a shockwave that broke the torrent of water in half, the attack being reduced to moisture for the usually dry ground as he looked across the field to DJ Swamp, whose breathing hadn't even changed at all. The musical mud fish rose up to his full height, slapping his chest as a challenge to his larger foe, who responded by rolling his neck and chuckling.
The blue mud fish cloaked himself in a torrent of water and shot forward, DJ Swamp able to notice that this torrent was different from the one he himself used earlier on, this one being designed for speed instead of power. DJ Swamp mimicked his foe, coating himself in a quick torrent of water and shooting forward much akin to a torpedo, the duo slamming into each other and rolling. They came back around, turning in mid air to land standing up in front of each other as they both swung their left fists forward, striking the other in the jaw. They both stumbled back, Leviathan recovering and moving forward, launching a right jab that struck DJ Swamp in the face, the mud fish unable to recover before another duo of jabs dazed him, his instincts kicking in as he saw the overhand right that came his way, grabbing the arm and tossing his foe overhead. He spun and shook his head, watching his foe rise to his feet.
Leviathan clapped, a gesture that was once again mimicked by DJ Swamp, both mud fish summoning balls of energy in their hands and launching them forward, the collision simple as they exploded, a haze of smoke coating the battlefield for a mere moment as DJ Swamp sensed out his foe, his eyes shooting open as he leaned to his right. He leaned back, balling his left hand and covering it with his right, shoving back arms back as he struck Leviathan with an elbow that stunned him. DJ Swamp turned his body upwards, lifting the massive mud fish overhead before dropping him, his arms spread as he coated his body in another Aqua Jet. Using the torrent as an accelerator, the purple mud fish launched a flurry of punches at his foe before changing the torrent to a power based one like Waterfall, his right fist clenched hard, the veins pulsating as he slammed it into the Leviathan's collarbone before throwing him to the side, where he slammed into a wall near his trainer.
Leviathan rose to his feet nearly unscathed, looking to his form before dusting himself off and sighing. He looked to Brock, who nodded as he turned to DJ Swamp. He took three steps forward before stopping. He looked up to the ceiling and then back to his foe, a familiar energy enveloping his being as DJ Swamp laughed. He watched the rear legs of his foe decrease in size as his body became a hulking form that stood 7'06" tall, his forearms increasing in size as gills appeared on them, his head protrusions becoming almost slicked back as a third fin like protrusion appeared, running down his back to his tail, which seemed smaller in comparison to the behemoth, hulking figure that he was, his neck almost completely gone. His form, to Krom, was almost gorilla like, smaller rear legs that supported massive arms and a heavy chest. The energy dispersed, and unlike the rest of Brock's Pokemon, Leviathan didn't make a single noise as the energy radiated off his body like a waterfall.
"There it is! Leviathan's Mega Evolution! This battle is all over! None have even scathed this form of the Great Blue One, much less defeated it! Krom and DJ Swamp stand nearly no chance against what might be the most powerful Pokemon in the whole of the Kanto region!" the man in the stands wailed, Krom's eyes narrowing as he grit his teeth. So this thing is that strong, huh? Krom asked himself, noticing that DJ Swamp was looking back at him. The mud fish smiled, lifting a hand and giving him a thumbs up, something that both reassured and confused Krom. Was the mud fish truthfully that confident, despite how evenly matched they were previously? DJ Swamp stepped forward, crouching himself down and bending his arms at the elbow. He clenched his fists and tensed his muscles up tightly before opening his mouth, unleashing a deep, blood curdling cry as a bright aura surrounded him.
As the demonic scream rang out, his flesh began to morph, increasing in size and density as his neck disappeared, his forearms swelling to incredible sizes, the gill like organs on his rear legs disappearing as his legs remained the same size, his tail extending, the top of it running up his back to his skull as his other two head fins spread and flattened to his head, the gills on his mouth lengthening and extending past his mouth as the two antenna split into three and swept back, each like a small spikes attached to his jaws. His upper arms swelled up as the sheer force of this transformation caused rocks to rise off the ground and shatter, the friction causing electricity to cackle around his body and through his aura as his height increased from 5' tall to 7'06" tall, the disc jockey now identical in size to Leviathan, something that only served to increase the intensity of the battle as a single flex of muscle dispersed the aura.
"Incredible! With an astounding shift in form much different than normal Mega Evolution, DJ Swamp has now reached an increased state of power that allows him to rival the great Leviathan in size and stature! These two underwater deities will clash with a force I'm not sure these diamond, steel and Conkeldurr cement enforced walls can handle!" the man in the stands screamed, making Krom raise a brow. "Diamond?" he asked, and Brock nodded. "I have chosen various materials to make my gym as strong as possible. These walls have been tested to withstand the force required to destroy large mountains. Meaning that unless an entire island falls on this gym, these walls will remain unscathed." he said, and Krom whistled. "Damn. Must've been expensive." he said, and Brock chuckled, watching the referee lift his arms.
"After this brief Mega Evolution pause, may we commence the second half of the final battle between Mega DJ Swamp versus The Mega Leviathan. Commence the battle!" he called, the two massive mud fish vanishing and appearing in front of each other, locking up before, in sync, clenching their muscles, the force of their muscles clenching causing the ground to shake, making Krom wonder exactly what these two monstrosities were capable of. Can these two really damage this gym? There's gotta be no way. Krom thought, partially hoping that the gym could handle their clash, a scream from Leviathan redirecting his attention as the blue mud fish lifted DJ Swamp in the air and slammed him to the ground, the ground beneath them cracking as DJ Swamp rolled to his feet with ease. I felt that shit. Good gods. Krom thought, watching the two pull back their gargantuan, human sized arms. The man in the stands screamed, Krom noticing that he was calling for his crew to abandon filming and run for cover.
Krom initially wondered why, but his curiosity was soon satisfied. DJ Swamp and Leviathan swung their arms forward, a loud sonic boom ringing out as the small trucks they called arms slammed together, the force causing Krom to curse, clapping as he summoned blades of lightning, slamming them into the ground to steady himself, his own muscles clenched as the force nearly blew him into a wall. Casting the blades away, he noticed that the two mud fish were still in the same spot, neither willing to budge as they locked eyes. They pulled their arms back, Leviathan swinging his left arm forward, DJ Swamp blocking with his right forearm, a left jab striking the Leviathan, who shoved the arm away with his right arm, another left jab blocked by DJ Swamp's forearm, and underhand right flying in his direction and striking him in the jaw.
The attack released a small shockwave, DJ Swamp's left arm flying forward in an overhand left, his right shoving away his foe's arm before coming up at his chin, both fists finding direct purchase as the Leviathan stumbled back, a double handed jab being blocked by the large forearms of Leviathan, who pressed his arms together, separating them to part the musically gifted Swampert's arms, striking with his own double fisted jab, DJ Swamp opening his massive hands and swinging them forward, the Leviathan leaning back and avoiding them as they came together in a thunderous clap, the shockwave blowing the blue mud fish back, the familiar torrent of Aqua Jet coating DJ Swamp as he followed after his foe, his arms moving forward and clasping together as he began to spin, Leviathan noticing the attack and exhaling.
Leviathan spread his palms, putting his left hand in front of his face and his right hand over his abdomen, DJ Swamp approaching at breakneck speeds. Leviathan waited until DJ Swamp was merely inches away before spinning his arms in a counter clockwise direction, the torque of his movement redirecting DJ Swamp's attack towards the Gym's right wall, the purple mud fish canceling the attack as he placed his arms against the ground to stop his spinning, landing on his feet and looking up, Leviathan already having closed in. DJ Swamp ducked down, sensing that he avoided a left jab, the Swampert rising up and taking a step forward, ending up behind his foe as he slammed both of his elbows into his foe's kidneys, spinning and throwing another overhand right.
Leviathan noticed this attack and used the recoil from his foe's previous attack to his advantage. He stumbled further than necessary, avoiding the overhand right as he rose to a vertical base and spun, grabbing DJ Swamp's extended right arm, pulling him forward with his left arm and extending his right arm out. DJ Swamp watched this action and ducked down, his lack of a neck coming in quite handy as he reached back, grabbing his foe by his head fins and pulling him to the ground, using his tight grip to roll atop his foe, a clean action that invigorated the musical mud fish. He swung his left fist down, Leviathan catching it with his own right fist, his left being caught with the same ease. Once again, Leviathan twisted his arms, this time in a clockwise direction, launching DJ Swamp off of him. The purple mud fish exhaled, using the spinning motion to his advantage, holding his hands in a blade like fashion as he swung at his foe. Leviathan stepped back from this spiraling Brick Break, watching his grape colored foe land on his feet.
Leviathan watched for any movement from DJ Swamp, who only exhaled through his small nostrils, the other mud fish rolling his neck as he lifted his hands to his face, ducking down slightly, the stance identical to a boxer's. Leviathan chuckled, taking the same stance before the two ran at each other, jumping slightly and sliding up to each other, exhaling in sync. Leviathan threw a left jab, watching DJ Swamp weave around it to his own left, exhaling as he leaned back from a left uppercut. The musical mud fish watched Leviathan come down with a hard overhand right, weaving to his left and throwing a wide left hook that found purchase against the blue mud fish's ribs. DJ Swamp smiled to himself, following up with a right jab to the chest, pulling his left hand back and rising up slightly with a left cross, an overhand right followed by a left jab and a right hook striking in quick succession.
Leviathan stumbled back, cursing to himself as he weaved under a left cross, striking his own right hook, the force offsetting DJ Swamp's balance as a left uppercut struck him in the jaw, a right cross to the chest being followed up with a left bodyblow and a right hook all in quick succession, DJ Swamp chuckling to himself. As he rose back to a vertical base and took his boxing stance once more, he realized that his opponent could easily match him blow for blow in a striking contest, his opponent's non physical offense also superior to the DJ's own. He stepped forward, a forceful right straight being thrown out. Leviathan weaved back, curving to his right and throwing a right hook. DJ Swamp noticed this and chuckled, his extended arm coming down and hooking back as he rolled his body to his right, striking Leviathan in the back of the head and knocking him forward.
The blue mud fish stumbled and grabbed the back of his head, rising back to a vertical base before blinking and chuckling, as if surprised that the DJ could get the upper hand in such a fashion. The Leviathan rolled his neck, clapping his hands as the gills on his massive forearms began to secrete ice, the frozen substance spreading across his forearms to his balled up fists, the armor like coating intriguing DJ Swamp, who merely retook his fighting stance as the two closed in on each other. DJ Swamp leaned back from a wide right hook, noticing that the ice coating his foe's arms could be used defensively as well, opting to try and smash the ice instead of attacking the blue mud fish directly. He came down with an overhand right, Leviathan leaning back and tilting his body to the right as he threw a hard right uppercut that DJ Swamp turned to his left to avoid the blow, turning his hand inwards to bring his elbow down, shattering the ice on his foe's right arm.
Leviathan smirked, knowing that his foe would attack the ice first. He stepped forward and bent his arm at the elbow, throwing his right arm back, driving his elbow in DJ Swamp's collarbone as the gills on his forearm opened up and launched brown sludge into the DJ's face, causing him to call out slightly, blinded by the solid mass of poison. This allowed Leviathan to spin and tense up his left arm, swinging the behemoth, ice coated limb and slamming it into DJ Swamp's chest. He shoved forward, knocking the DJ into the air as he jumped into the air coated in a torrent of water. Shattering the ice on his arm by flexing his muscles, he condensed it into a ball and tossed it forward, striking the DJ in the face and freezing the poison he struggled to wipe from his eyes, essentially blinding him.
Flying above DJ Swamp, Leviathan cast away the torrent of water and lifted his arms over head. He swung them both down, slamming them into his chest with enough force to cause a shockwave to ring out. DJ Swamp flew to the ground after being struck, a sonic boom ringing out before another shockwave flew about as he struck the ground, a massive crater forming where he struck, the force intense enough to shatter the ice over his eyes and blow away the poison, the wind knocked from his lungs by time he could see again. When he opened his eyes, Leviathan was flying towards him with his arms in front of him, his fists clenched as the DJ panted and struggled to get air into his lungs. His mind raced as he struggled to think of something that he could do to counteract the upcoming attack, his mind slowly failing him as he relied on sheer instinct.
He sprung to his feet, leaping into the air using his sturdy rear legs and colliding with Leviathan, the force tearing rock away from the ground once more as he shoved his own fists to the left, knocking his foe off balance as he swung both of his arms down. He struck Leviathan in the back, sending him flying face first towards the ground, the experienced 'Blue Yokozuna' able to roll and land on his feet, using his arms to prevent himself sliding into the nearby wall. DJ Swamp hit the ground, his breathing labored as he shook his head, running forward as he watched his opponent do the same, able to tell from the heaving of his blue pectoral muscles that he too was worn out. The two simply ran into each other, DJ Swamp's right arm slipping through Leviathan's left to grab his side, Leviathan's right arm also slipping through the DJ's own left arm.
The two simply struggled, a contest for physical and technical dominance that harkened back to the beginning of their battle. Leviathan took a left step forward, DJ Swamp responding by taking a right step forward to counteract his foe's movement. DJ Swamp clenched his grip on Leviathan, rolling his own body to the left to try and toss Leviathan, but the blue mud fish counteracted the movement by leaning to his own left. The two continued to struggle in the same fashion, the ground beneath their feet cracking and their muscles bulging as sweat began to run along their flesh, DJ Swamp acknowledging that his physical strength was superior, but the determination of his foe was extremely impressive. The purple mud fish opted to stop struggling, letting his body go limp as Leviathan stumbled forward, pulling him along.
DJ Swamp chuckled as his feet left the ground. He tensed up again, rolling his body to the left and pulling the Leviathan with him. He slammed his opponent to the ground, letting go and rolling off of him as adrenaline filled his veins, Leviathan rebounding rather easily. DJ Swamp could tell that his foe was rather peeved, having been outsmarted in a sumo like confrontation, something that would likely rub someone called 'The Great Blue Yokozuna' the wrong way. He reached up, pulling on his right eyelid and sticking his tongue out, taunting his foe as the blue mud fish ran forward. The duo both threw right crosses, their hands meeting as they pulled back, twin left jabs causing them to strike each other's fists once more, Leviathan throwing a quick right jab that struck DJ Swamp in the mouth as he pulled his left hand back, striking with a left bodyblow.
DJ Swamp cursed as he looked down at the left hand planted firmly against his stomach, his mind coming up with an unusual idea as he smirked. Using the kinetic energy from the bodyblow, DJ Swamp rolled over his foe's arm, and over his slightly hunched figure, ending up behind him, spinning and throwing an overhand right that was blocked by a raised left hand. DJ Swamp noticed that this hand came over his right shoulder, the blue mud fish spinning around and chopping DJ Swamp in the chest, causing him to grunt in pain as his blade like hand rolled into a fist, shooting forward as DJ Swamp smiled. He turned to his left, leaning back and grabbing his foe's right arm as it flew over his head, throwing him across the gym and following after him.
Krom watched DJ Swamp duck under a left jab, rather impressed at his Swampert's ability and endurance. However, he noticed that the Swampert was extremely tired, his weave around a right uppercut rather sloppy. Can he really do this? He wondered, wincing at the force of a Hammer Arm DJ Swamp took to the face. Perhaps I should have brought Sparturk along. I'm sure he would've been able to have won this by now. He thought, the Swampert rising to his feet after a flurry of Ice Punches, flexing his muscles to shatter the ice on his chest. He watched DJ Swamp glance back to him, the look on the Swampert's face unreadable. Did he notice that I was doubting him? He wondered, shaking his head as he realized that he was being ridiculous. This is the same Swampert that bench pressed and tossed a ship that weighed 300,000 tons. That's like picking up and tossing some towns. Why am I doubting him? He wondered, the Swampert's mood reflecting Krom's own. The Swampert's face spread in a big smile as he jabbed Leviathan back, the two Swampert's both panting heavily.
"I'm rather impressed that your Swampert has lasted this long." Brock said, and Krom laughed. "That's DJ Swamp for ya. He's one of the toughest sons of bitches on either side of Unova." he said, and Brock smiled. "However, I think you've realized that he can't beat my Leviathan." he said, and Krom rose a brow. Brock chuckled. "I could tell by the look on your face that you were doubting your Pokemon." he said, and Krom shook his head. "I realized that I was being an idiot. No matter what, I should believe in my Pokemon, and cheer for them. And that's what I'm going to do. After all of the battles and wars we've been through, DJ Swamp has always been one to keep a smile on his face the whole time, and that's something I can respect." he said, and Brock chuckled. Krom clenched his fists, his fangs increasing in length slightly. "That's why he'll win! A lot of people are rooting for him, and nothing makes him happier than seeing the smiles of others!" He called, and DJ Swamp smiled.
The mud fish nodded. His trainer was right. Nothing would stop him from seeing the smiles of Homika, and Orzhov. Then, he remembered his defeated brothers. Cernunnos, Acheron, Boogie Man, Birisu and Sherman. The five warriors that carved a path for him, leaving him only one, single Pokemon to defeat. He clenched his fists and looked across the field to Leviathan. He locked eyes with the blue mud fish, and the two shared a mutual understanding. That this would be their final clash, and that it would be all out, and finally, they both knew in that moment, that only one of them would come out standing. Both of them called out loudly, battle cries that reverberated throughout the gym as they closed in and intertwined their fists for the first and final time, a brief shove from both of them all that was needed before they broke apart.
Leviathan threw a massive right hand that struck DJ Swamp in the chest, his flexing muscles reducing the recoil as he stepped forward and threw a thunderous right cross, striking Leviathan in the jaw, the blue mud fish shouting as he threw a left uppercut the struck DJ Swamp cleanly in the jaw, his feet rising off the ground. The musical mud fish brought his head down to look at his foe, a massive overhand left crashing into the Leviathan's skull and causing him to stumble, a sudden burst of adrenaline allowing the blue mud fish to rise up and unleash a quick, left backfist, DJ Swamp able to feel his jaw cracking and fracturing under the flesh as he recovered, grabbing Leviathan's face with his hands and bringing his face forward, a headbutt that split them both open, the 'Great Blue Yokozuna' stumbling back with blood secreting from a cut on his forehead.
The worn out Swampert stumbled forward, throwing a left elbow that nicked DJ Swamp's collarbone, the flesh tearing open as the bone underneath fractured. DJ Swamp grabbed the wound and hissed, an instinctive right backfist knocking Leviathan back for DJ Swamp to throw a proper left hook that struck the other Swampert in the shoulder, the bone making some form of movement beneath his fist, likely popping out of place. Leviathan called out, knocking DJ Swamp back with a right hook before grabbing his left arm and slamming his shoulder back into place, a left uppercut knocking DJ Swamp back further as Leviathan pulled back for another right punch. DJ Swamp allowed himself to fall forward, another ground shaking headbutt stunning his foe, allowing him a few seconds of recovery time before he threw another right cross.
Leviathan stepped back, nearly tripping from exhaustion as DJ Swamp followed up with a left jab, Leviathan weakly weaving to his right and throwing a right underhanded punched. DJ Swamp grunted as he was once again struck in the kidney, turning his right hand inward and coming down with an elbow on Leviathan's collarbone, fracturing it as the blue mud fish leaned back in shock, allowing DJ Swamp to follow up with a headbutt to the stomach, Leviathan catching him in a standing guillotine before lifting him in the air. The blue mud fish screamed, jumping up before driving DJ Swamp head first into the ground, rolling away and standing to his feet, panting so heavily that it looked like he doubled in size. DJ Swamp rolled to his feet, his panting on an equal level with Leviathan's as they both took an identical fighting stance and stepped forward.
They both threw a right punch, the force of the blow nearly non existent, the rocks beneath their feet shattering as they stepped back, the final burst of adrenaline filling their veins as they threw left jabs that collided, the two fighting in sync as their third and fourth blows connected, the force once more increasing as the few spectators looked on in awe at the incredible war in front of them, the two entering their second hour of fighting. Their stamina was nearly depleted, and yet, as they slammed into each other like raging rams, they were filled with a final, desperate burst of adrenaline that excited them and their audience. The referee was hoping that the duo had a clear victor, this battle far too excellent to end in a draw. The camera crew knew for a fact that this battle was going to break records in both views and sales. Brock himself was enthralled, having never seen two Pokemon fight so furiously, and yet so evenly.
And Krom looked on, watching them go blow for blow, his heart slamming against his ribcage. He glanced to the entrance, noticing that the sun was in a very different position than when he'd walked in the gym, at least four or five hours having gone by since the start of his battle, no, his war with Brock. Krom's fists clenched, his pupils narrowed to slits as he bared his teeth in anticipation of the outcome. He knew in that moment that if all of his Gym battles were going to be this invigorating that he would waste no time in each and every city before challenging the gym leader, the blood running through his veins nearly boiling as he watched Leviathan and DJ Swamp scream at each other, blood pouring from multiple wounds as their veins pulsated across their flesh. The demigod was eager to see how this would end, his hastiness getting the better of him as he called out. "DJ Swamp! Finish this!" he called, the mud fish's scream increasing in volume as the veins in his eyes thickened and throbbed.
Leviathan threw a massive punch that struck DJ Swamp in the chest, the DJ slapping his chest as if asking for more. Another punch followed, the slap this time accompanied by a shout, the third blow dealing no damage, the massive pectoral muscles of DJ Swamp counteracting the force with a shockwave from the friction of their flexing. DJ Swamp threw a double handed bodyblow that found easy purchase, Leviathan realizing that he was in a desperate situation. He turned his head forward, launching a Hyper Beam at close range, blasting himself back as he clapped, surrounding himself in the bright yellow aura of Giga Impact, surging forward as he formed a Hydro Cannon in his hands, DJ Swamp remaining still as Leviathan slammed into him, pushing him back as the condensed ball of water was thrown at his face, exploding and sending Leviathan flying back as a shockwave rang out that sent cracks rippling through the walls and ground.
The blue mud fish stood, panting heavily as he wiped the sweat from his brow, a cloud of vapor all that remained of his foe. He threw his arms up in victory when the vapor cleared and there was no sign of DJ Swamp, making the referee hesitate in pure shock. However, the ground split beneath Leviathan, a shocked and horrified expression crossing his blue features as a pair of purple hands rose up from the ground, slamming into his chest and driving him into the air as the massive purple body they were attached too came with them, Leviathan screaming at how little his last resort combination did to his foe, DJ Swamp backing off of him in air and exhaling. Summoning a torrent of water to himself, he concentrated it on his forearms, which he brought down directly onto Leviathan's skull, sending him flying to the ground and tumbling into the nearest wall, the mud fish falling from the sky and crashing face first before instinctively rising to his feet one final time.
Leviathan did the same, a scream of desperation filling the gym as he stomped forward, each footstep filled with pain, anger and adrenaline as he prepared to throw everything at DJ Swamp, the DJ focusing all of his remaining energy on his right fist, exhaling as Leviathan closed in. He lifted his right fist, looking at it. He looked to the Leviathan and back to his fist, grabbing his right wrist in his left hand and cocking his right forearm akin to a shotgun before turning and slamming it to the ground, crouching own as he stared down his foe, inhaling one last time as he ran forward at full speed, jumping into the air and turning his body to the left, Leviathan's face belying shock as DJ Swamp threw his right fist forward and struck with all of his might.
To say that the attack released a large shockwave would have been an understatement. The fist struck and the ground beneath them nearly evaporated, the behemoth wave of force striking the walls and cracking them as they began to fall apart, the force rising up as the ceiling simply exploded, rock and dirt raining down as Leviathan fell to the ground and DJ Swamp stumbled back, the walls falling apart like dried out play-doh as Krom sped over to the camera crew and referee, shielding them with a large Protect barrier, a shockwave ringing out through the whole town as the Pewter Gym began to collapse. Brock tossed out a seventh PokeBall, summoning a large Onix that immediately slithered over to the two mud fish, forming a massive barrier over them as the dirt and rubble fell around them.
When the dust settled, Brock returned the Onix and exhaled. In a clear spot in the center of the gym, the undefeated monster, the underwater deity and the Great Blue Yokozuna, Leviathan, laid unconscious with blood pouring from multiple wounds as DJ Swamp stood tall, his large purple arms raised overhead as blood coated his grape colored flesh. Both Swampert's transformations faded, the referee lifting his hand as Krom and Brock pulled PokeBalls from their waists. "Leviathan is unable to battle! The winner is DJ Swamp and Krom Hitoawa!" He called, Krom smiling as the mud fish looked his way, exhaling as he began to fall over, Krom recalling him as the camera crew screamed hysterically.
"Incredible! Unbelievable! The Legendary Leviathan has just been defeated by a musically gifted foe! Brock, famed as 'The Great One', has just fallen in battle to the still undefeated, enigmatic, electrifying Krom Hitoawa!" The man screamed, Krom grumbling. Kinda wish I didn't save him from the rockfall. He thought, annoyed by how loud he was. Krom sighed, walking over to Brock as the Gym Leader shook his head. "That was by far the greatest battle I've ever had. Even without controlling my Pokemon, I knew that you had me at every turn." he said, and Krom laughed. "Nah I was really worried for a while, especially because my Pokemon don't know when to take a break." he said, and Brock laughed. "I guess they get that from you. Champion of two regions and you're challenging the Kanto Gym Leaders? Are you going to conquer all six regions?" He asked, and Krom hummed, shaking his head.
"Nah. From what Simba's told me, Kalos is almost as lame sounding as Johto, so I'll let my kids have some fun with that region." he said, and Brock laughed, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a Boulder Badge. "Congratulations Krom, you truthfully earned this." he said, and Krom smiled, accepting the badge as Brock held his hand out. Krom reached out and shook his hand, both men tightening their grip at the same time. "Good reflexes." Brock said, and Krom rose a brow. "That move was slow. I could've felt that coming in my sleep." he said, and Brock smiled. "I take it you didn't forget about our little post battle sparring session?" Brock asked and Krom laughed, his heavy fangs gleaming off the sunlight. "Of course not." he said, the duo releasing each other's hands and stepping back. They both took a fighting stance, the referee and camera crew already having fled as the two large men took a single, powerful stomp forward.
