Odo and Major Kira both leave medical walking across the promenade deck. Kira is still upset at the young federation doctor.

"Odo of all these Starfleet officers that I have to deal with on this station the doctor is the most naïve when it comes to Bajor!"

"Major, the doctor, is just doing his job, but all of the Federation is naïve except for Sisko. They could no more stop an assassination attempt than Quark could stop cheating."

"Don't you think I know that Odo? That is why I am fighting so hard for Bajor's safety."

"Kira I am in charge of safety, and I will do all in my power to keep this from happening, and you need to work with Sisko. You must convince him. I will say when the Cardassians run the station an attempt would not have even been made."

"Odo if they still ran the station we would not even be allowed to celebrate this holiday."

"The good with the bad then huh major," Odo says stiffly as they both continue walking.

Back in the operation command level Commander Sisko was sitting at his desk holding on to the baseball he keeps there. Whenever he is in deep thought about something that baseball helps brings a calmness about him. He looks up as Dax walks into his office.

"Old man what brings you here?"

"Benjamin you look like you have the whole world on your shoulders."

"With this holiday we have so much traffic on and off of the station, space freighter and transport vessels jamming up our space lanes. On top of that, we have to try to prevent this assassination, and the only lead we have is that it is someone from Cardassian space."

"Benjamin that is an excellent lead, Odo just has to check every vessel coming from there."

"Old man it's not that easy, I seriously doubt that the assassin will be a Cardassian that would be too obvious. If they hired a third party like I suspect they would not come to the station directly from Cardassian space because it would give them away. No, they hired an expert for this, and I don't think we will see them coming until its too late."

Quarks could best be described as the Las Vegas of space because the party never ends and the proprietor himself never sleeps much but when he does Quark dreams about gold press latinum. He was in the middle of such a dream when an alarm went off behind his secret panel in his room. Quark had this communication device installed away from the station's main communication array and Odo's view. Only those clients with questionable needs knew of this line, and that meant more latinum for Quark. He answers and a familiar Cardassian's face appears on the viewscreen that he had not seen since the days of the occupation onboard the station. Quark eyes grew as large as his ears as he listens to the offer being made to him.

A Romulan freighter making its final approach to DS9 has wiery passengers from the long trip and the solar storm that detour them from their regular route. Everyone on board was happy to hear the captain say that it would not be long until they were onboard the famous Federation space station that was close to the wormhole. One particular passenger was sitting to the rear that had kept to himself after he boarded the freighter while they were making repairs from the solar storm. He had important business on the space station that would change the balance of power of Bajor forever.

Kenko and Miles were having dinner in their quarters. She was still worried about Miles after the attack; she was the more concern because he would not talk about it.

"Miles I know you are still upset about losing someone under your command."

"Yes I am upset I have lost people before, but that was when we were at war with the Cardassians. This is different to lose an ensign engineer. He was not a soldier that look in his eyes will haunt me. I should have been able to help him."

"Outside in space, there is only so much that you could do."

"Well tell that to his family."

The tension between the two was interrupted when their bell sounded. Miles said "enter" and was relieved to have someone else to stop this conversation. However he saw Odo, he wish that it was only Kenko he had to talk too.

"Chief and Mrs. O'brien sorry for bothering you both, but we have not had time to talk about what happened during the attack. I am trying to conduct an investigation, and I'm hoping you might have some new information that we have overlook."

Kenko smiles at her husband, if he wouldn't talk to her, then he would speak to Odo. She knew he would keep all his emotions bottled up and that was no good for him. This way at least he talk and gets his guilt out in the open. If anyone can help him with guilt is Odo. She smiles as both men left going to the security office.

Sisko promise Jake that they would have dinner together and he hated breaking promises to his son, but he was in Ops with Dax and Kira at the moment. They were looking at a layout of the station and reviewing where all the attacks or sightings had taken place.

"Commander these attacks look too random, how are we going to predict where his next attack will be?"

"Major I don't think that these attacks are so random. What happened at the pylons wasn't plan, the Chief surprise this thing, and it just defended itself."

"Benjamin if we remove that attack for the time being and concentrate on the other attacks maybe we can find a connection."

The elevator arrives in Ops with Chief and Odo as the trio quickly explains to the new arrivals what they were looking at.

"Dax please concentrate on decks D thru G only and magnify." Ask Odo.

That is when everyone notices the same thing about attacks, they all seem to center around the same location on the station. Sisko himself had suspected that someone had been helping the attacker but could not figure out who it was, but now looking at the monitor they all had the same idea. Without saying a word, Odo left Ops going down to find their suspect. In the center of all the attacks sat Quark's Place. Odo already had the Ferengi in custody over this once but let him go. This time Quark would not be so lucky.
