(A/N Okay, I suck. It's official. I've had so many days where I want to write, but can't-because life- and so many where I have the opportunity to and my mind is just like 'WFT is writing?!' So I am sorry this is so late, and I am sorry it's so short. I've had this done and the second half of the chapter planned, but I just can't get it on paper.

That being said, I'm going to take a [hopefully short] hiatus while I have some stressful stuff going on IRL. I'm hoping I'll still be writing this and a few other pieces during this time [especially bc I was really looking forward to this part of this story], but I need to take the stress factors down a few pegs and self imposed deadlines are stressful. lol

I am sorry. This story will not be abandoned! But I'm not quite sure when I'll be back to posting.)

"Come on, goat boy," Thalia led Grover away from her friends as she danced to the dreadful Jesse McCartney music the DJ had spinning. It was painful trying to lead him through a dance, but it was worse watching Annabeth and Percy stand awkwardly together in exactly the same spot she'd left them in. She swung over and hissed at them to dance, and was rewarded with Grover stepping on her feet again. She idly wished she'd stolen Percy instead.

A slow song started playing and it was far too easy to remember waking up, disoriented and still on Death's doorstep, in Percy's arms. Would he know how to lead a dance? Probably not. Would he even willingly dance with her? Also, probably not.

Thalia knew that Annabeth had grown really close to Percy, and if that meant that she ignored her own feelings, well that was just fine. This should be the perfect opportunity for Annabeth to make a move, even with Jesse McCartney set as the background music.

"Learn anything?"

"What?" Thalia was startled off cuckoo land's cloud by Annabeth's appearance.

"Did you guys come up with any ideas for how to get to the di Angelo kids without Thorne's interference?"

"Oh. No. Did you learn anything?"

"Only that Percy would be more comfortable playing basketball in the corner than dancing with me." The two shared a small laugh at his expense when Grover froze beside her.

"So, where is he?"

"Right over…" Annabeth had spun to point him out, but her voice faded when she didn't see him with the other guys. She looked around again, and this time Thalia and Grover were searching too.

"Guys, the di Angelos are gone too…" This happened when Thalia had lost her focus and she had to make this right.
